The death toll from a series of tornadoes in the southeast that touched down wednesday has risen to 17. 7. Two more bodies were found in mississippi, bringing the states total victims to 10. Seven more people died in two different states, including 6 in tennessee. Laststight, a tornado touched down in birmingham, alabana, but fortunately there was not a lot of damage there. In california, a large brush fire that broke out last night is threatening dozens of hohos. In some parts of the area, major highways had to be shut down, and residents are being evacuated. Police tell cbs 2 news, the first was a call from the 500 block of keystone street around 215 yesterday afternoon. They say someone in a car shot at another person, but nobody was actually hit. Officers say the man targeted is not cooperating later on just before Midnight Police were called to a home on lafayette street, after a window was shot out. There was also a car hit. Police say the witnesses at that scene are also not co operating. So far no arrests have been made in either case. In chicago, two people are dead after a policeinvolved shooting. Shooting.
