A coming to life for a solution Studios in Nashville and you are joining a conversation about who you are what you were created to do where you want to do it and how you can get there it is about your why at work we believe that you were created to fill a unique role in this world in your work through your work that needs you are tremendously valuable but it also means there's an obligation for you to do it because there is somebody out there a whole lot of somebodies. Or maybe even just a few somebodies that need you to show up and contribute what you were created to contribute and so that's what we talk about here we talk about your purpose in your work because that exists for all of us it's why we lie awake at night and ask ourselves why am I here nobody has to teach us to wonder that that's the human spirit it's within us to make a contribution and we all along too and so we're going to help you combine your income and your impact how does that sound come up and that's a fun conversation it's a hopeful conversation it's a practical conversation so let me for those either knew the program we had new people come in all the time is really 3 groups of people out there that need this show you have no idea what you want to do with your life great we can help you you know what you want to do but you don't know how to get there great news we can help you and in there so you know what you want to do what you're supposed to do and you know how to get there but you're scared you're paralyzed by fear and doubt welcome to the club I've been there now a little wrong with you we can help here's how it's a conversation this show's about you 844-747-2577 is the toll free number 844-747-2577 trips up 1st in a Warsaw Indiana trip you're in the can call in show. And then Simon on Saturday excited here well I'm excited to talk to you what's up. Yes So I am a 20 years old and in May I will earn my associates degree and it is a mystery. However I am feeling calm now towards Pastore leadership and ministry of some time and I'm just wondering how do I go along with that since my theory will be in something a little bit different well you follow the call and I think you finish the path you're on because a degree in Business Administration is I think very helpful in practical and ministry you know just because it's ministry doesn't mean there's not leadership involved just because it's minister doesn't mean there's not business principles involved would you agree with that. So you're so close to graduating you just go and finish this path out and I think you've got to take the steps to get qualified for ministry so what feels like you get a little more clarity as to where you enter into ministry. Or do you need clarity on what that dream what that ultimate ministry position is I'm assuming you've wondered about that if so what is it yeah. Probably Honestly being a pastor of some sort I mean your list that's a dream thing right now is. Testing a church mentoring and there's no word of God That's that's all right I'm all right so perfect well so let's play this out because you've you've got some time to clarify and verify that vision Ok I'm going to tell you specifically Sneck steps on that process to where God reveals you specifically where your 3 want to be although I'm going to tell you I think. The pastor and thing is going to be really really clear quickly whether or not you want to be a senior pastor or different you know that that's going to come as you get into this but here's what we do we say all right what do we need so we're clear that stage one of my 7 stages to mean for work states to get qualified So what do I need to learn what do I need to do to become qualified for that past oral position do you know the answer to that. I mean a lot of churches. You know. My book college or something. You know a master's in the event that's there's an allergy or some things come but not all churches are you know I'm glad you said that and so I'm glad you said that because I will tell you that it is a myth that you must have a master's in divinity to reach that position that is up to you if you want to do that is not going to be a requirement for most churches certainly not to get in so let's just play this out what's your hunch if I made a phone call today for you to a church in an area where you want to be and I got the connections like Ok let me talk about my friend Trenton he's got his degree he's about ready to get his degree in business Tracy feels the call to ministry. He's willing to. Get some additional learning in theology if required but he's ready to go what position would you want to because they're going to give you an entry level ministry position what would you do where would you where would you want to to start knowing you're just getting on the ladder. You know enter into a task just slides follow whatever the pass is doing and how ever he is helping you know just you know be with him but I mean I want to mind you know being like that you pass or something like that. So you and I already had this is the exercise you need to complete you just came up with 2 potential in tree level positions. So now you go what is across the board is I look at positions at churches across America or in the region where I want to live what are their what are their qualifications that they're advertising for open youth pastor positions I'm a tenor and if you want to be an internal paid intern or an assistant to somebody it's likely to be a lot of qualifications you're going to already have that so we just get in we want to get in we want to get in and start working in the ministry environment doing whatever it's interest level now you're in and you're in the ministry you're warning everything about it while you're getting that additional qualification to keep moving up that's the path but don't just go ahead and say well I'm going to graduate now I'm going to meet me start my endive know how to get hired in a church ministry and if they say well we want this additional qualification free to move up then you go great I'll do it as I work or if I need to save up and then go after it and reenter but don't overthink this but the other thing I want to give you is I want you to be spending time with different types of pastors executive pastors singles pastors youth pastors. Visitation or what have you would call it you know people that are in the counseling side of past 3 you need to be engaging and hanging out talking with those different types of pastors to just get like almost a college term paper or. Boy a kid talk college term paper level knowledge on what they do how they do it what a day is like what a week it's like biggest struggles greatest joys you track it with. Oh because when you get that information your head and heart are going to come together and we're going to get ding ding ding or a couple ding ding ding and we're going to get some and that's how you clarify verify. You don't need this is it like I got to sit there and wake up every morning at 4 in the morning and pray God's going to hit me in the head with a with a spiritual brick you know I'm all for prayer and consideration but I'm also for putting your feet out there and God will speak to you and reveal to you through your actual heart because he gave you your heart he put that passion in you and so he says wait for you to figure it out don't move more kid Colin show coming right out. You get more intentional at your health your relationships your emotional mental health he just will because there's something about experiencing what the famed psychologist and researcher Mihai cheeks at me high discovered and has been teaching for 30 years aside to flow what he calls flow is what you experience when you are doing the work you were created to do so when I describe the sweet spot for you folks I tell you there's 3 elements 3 indicators talent what you do best passion what you love to do you just love the work and in mission is the results of the work that you love to do that matter most to you but when we describe passion I talk about high emotion and high devotion you just get excited thinking about it I mean the middle of it yes I love it time seems disappear that's flow and high has proven that that experience he calls flow that feeling that emotional response. Is the same as ecstasy. Grab that for a 2nd folks because it's significant We're all adults here ecstasy has been turned into it's been sexualized it's been. You know it's become provocative it's a name of a drug that takes you to this place this euphoric state ecstasy is an actual drug Ecstasy it's got a sexual connotation to it but but the reality is those are all false and artificial applications of ecstasy ecstasy and its pure form is a feeling of euphoria and I could tell you when you're in your sweet spot you will experience euphoria in your work. So what you folks to get that it's really important you get that it is possible to be euphoric in your work so to that end. I just want you to really grab that to see that that's possible and the research backs that up a fun thing we're going to do here Joe We recently had the opportunity to tape a conversation with Mr a lister and self Matthew McConaughey Oscar winning actor all around international man of mystery you know the guys everywhere right now with this new book greenlights you've probably heard of it he's been on 4763 podcasts including the can Coleman show we taped it because I wanted to do a long form conversation and we had a conversation about purpose the path you join your work so many things and so I want to play just a little snippet of my conversation with Matthew and this comes from the book and in the book realizing it read it yet he's got all these you know observations things he Journal about things he learned and one of these a book I was most fascinated by is this question and it's this one in a row which is a play on a popular phrase tomorrow 3 in arose like that's a momentum going into he's like it's all about the one or 0 I was so ecstatic asking his question it's like a super fast set up so Joe let's take these people into this part of the conversation as Matthew McConaughey explains what one in a row is and what it looks like you're going to get so much from this here it is one in aerobics and I mean you know we want to get somewhere you know you know and I call it you know date and time with the big picture in mind yeah but then once you have that big picture. Could you head down. A can it's you can chop that tree down and I mean Ceterus fellas get to chop it down once we're going to time when accessing at the time whatever that may be just start because what happens is are you look at that big picture and that's probably one of the you don't do the job in front of you as well so you build a link in your chain of where you're going it's a weak link and then you add it you you're looking over there again you're too Sest with where it is you want to go that you're not looking down at your feet you build another weak link and what you get there it won't hold you have to build each link Well at one of the again and again and again the 1st and last time is each time that's it do that look up got a little bit higher on the rung of the ladder look down climb again yeah got it got a lot further and that's part of what I mean much about the process life being a verb that place on the horizon that we think we want to go it's not finite anyway . Not a real spot you don't landing go Ta-Ta because on the way getting there and once you get there one it's either a bit more of a mirage than you thought or too you've learned some things on the way to get in there that now you've got a lot more places you need to go that was not actually a final destination at all tall that's just dripping with goodness and it's very compatible with what you hear me talk about every day on the show how quickly I think if you want to hear the entire conversation we're releasing that tomorrow on of the podcast of the King Cole show where we listen podcast but I will tell you want to watch it. And you want to see how normal I look compared to a phenomenal looking human being. You can go watch it on youtube you search the can Coleman show and we've got the entire conversation about 45 minutes in its entirety but I want to pull back to what he said I want to tie it into our 7 stages to meaningful work get clear stage one get qualified States to get connected stage 3 get started stage 4 get promoted stage 5 get the Dream Job stage 67 is give yourself away he alludes to this to that beautiful relation to him why is there a stage 7 Why do we stop at 68 is the one packet for it will come back to that hold that thought this one in a row that I asked him about as he begin to explain it he uses the popular analogy that not only I use but a lot of people use that are really committed to the process and that is chop and elementary It is the daily discipline of showing up and I gotta swing the axe and it is $100.00 swings a 1000 swings $10000.00 swings 100000 swings that eventually tells the tree so here's the teaching concept here if you want to know how to win the next you must win the now and that's what Matthew McConaughey would say each individual action is its own exclusive execution plan I got to do this and then I got to do this and then I got to do this and then I got to do this and so it is the discipline of daily action the small things are all important and they lead to the next small thing the next small thing in the medium sized thing that means I think it so you've got to be in the now and you've got to win the now or there is no next. It's a huge temptation for us humans for now let's get back to our 7 stage to meaningful work to what he's talking about and as each link as he use that analogy gets stronger nets set you up and supports you for the climb and what he said was we realized the destination we thought that was the destination isn't the destination is right Sir Edmund Hillary the 1st man to scale Mount Everest when he gets to the top of Mount Everest I can imagine he looked around for a while well it's really cool but he did look it up for a long time a long time but he records it and he shared it as he's standing on the peak of Mount Everest this unbelievable goal that he spent so much time and effort on and remember folks the whole time he's looking up now he's there what does he do he looks out. And surrounded Hillary sees another mountain raging He says he was climbing partner that was next war when we get to the dream job we're not done we just expand the dream but he found the vision. And we begin the process again who you signed up for that don't move this is the can call. As a career in general I mean is it your sweet spot you know what I teach so are you going to do you have the talent to do it. I think I know the answer this but I mean are you really passionate about stocks and and I integrate great what kind of what's the result that matters deeply to you when you look at that work let's assume that you're really successful stock traders stockbroker or whatever what's that result that fires your soul owning Wynnie Well money great that's I want that works that works for me that works your scoreboard guy yeah I love that it's a yeah I absolutely love by the way can I just say what you thought about this or not I love that you just called it exactly what it is because I think there is a. We're phrase humans to say I just like producing results may I don't when I'm about achievement there's nothing wrong with that that's beautiful so good for you so Ok if it's in your sweet spot and finally the next question. Is to do it right I mean I mean I mean that's what I teach if it is in your sweet spot if you really do have the talent to do it you really love the work and it produces results that matter to you yeah go for it it's usually it's but I mean I teach there are several that several dream jobs. Pretty new to Gerald being on the Randy thanks bro when I saw you at yes I write with. Yes here's the deal we've already verified that yeah you should go for it in your sleep by here's the path you're already in your 3 stage one you're ready to go Stage one is get clear on what you're supposed to do why you want to do it states to is get qualified take of this set as you climb a mountain you know Cirebon Hillary never so if we're going to you have baby well you get to the top stage 3 is get connected you can do States the same time you should be why you're getting qualified you're getting connected Stage 4 is get started as you're getting qualified and then when you don't qualify getting qualified rather you're getting connected making sure that you've got great relationships and somebody's going to go we want you Seth because you connect with the right people you put yourself in the right places right that stage 3 Get Connected 4 is when the opportunity finally comes you and it will find you get started you jump in you get in interest level probably but that's all right you're it and you do a great job you crush it and then eventually going to get promoted at Stage 5 you keep getting promoted until you get to stage 6 which is your dream job but when you're there Seth Now you've been looking up this whole time and now you get the dream job guess what you're doing you're looking out you're at the top of the mountain at that time then you realize what it's like there's another mountain to climb on to go higher. And so it's almost like you reward it was not an American jets right that's it so you got to say I want to give you a gift your brain news show I want to give you my number one best selling book called The proximity principle Here's the proximity principle says that it says in order to do it Seth wants to do a stockbroker he's got to be around people that are doing it and in places where it is happening and there are 5 people 5 places both archetypes 5 people 5 places and then there's practices in the last section of the book the proximity principle was written for people like you you know we want to go now you need to figure out the best way to get there and that book is your guide you got it. And got it right on the line we're going to take care of you 844-747-2577 is going to New York next Justin is there Justin you know they can call the show. Page up the Harry and say Hey buddy I am living the dream what can I help you with. Yes sir I recently lost 20 to go back to New York and take some time away of your family since August and before I got back I honestly was broccoli terminal Nicolette job. In a kind of a tricky situation where time is not a little more than a decision to moving at a place like for someone to turn up with that let's watch have an idea that I have suggestions but listen to your concert for a couple weeks now and really just trying to take the 1st step to really know where to go and. Have some places in mind that I would like to live but I also want to make sure that heart's right and the reasons why I want to go there is right good for you know that kind of work and that yeah I get it and Melissa I'm sorry that the wrongful termination happened I know you're down right now it's very natural I don't want you to stay down I want you to the best of your ability to change your mindset and you may already be there because you sound pretty healthy but you want to make sure that you take this as an opportunity you know what what somebody did to me that was wrong I'm going to turn it into good this is the this is the I don't want this kick out of the nest but I'm going to see this is being kicked out of the nest you got it. All right I think you have some ideas about what you would like to do if you don't that's Ok but I'm just curious before we determine where we want before we determine where we want to live I think we're to figure out what we want to do and verify it by examining the why I want to do it I got some ideas what are your ideas on what you want to do. Yes So I think for me and my whole lot of facilities to work on a social justice arena. Solutions to complex problems I love me. People. You know says it's terrible I love the I love yeah and also some something I really I really. Listen to this like it's. Listen he started off this call acting like he didn't know you weren't sure and that's not the evidence that you just gave me the evidence you just gave us you know exactly what you want to do. You know the arena social justice you want to be in that area and you know the type of work you want to do you love solving complex problems you love working with people so that's the passion that's the work you want to do and the results you want to create are you know specifically tied to the problems you want to solve like the work you want to do and it's in the social justice area so it's a it's a cause I think it's a function of you determining 3 to 5 organizations that you think you would absolutely love to work for and then you see if they're hiring or if they're not we find other organizations that are similar because in determining the mountains you want to climb it's going to reveal other mountains Does that make sense oh brother listen you're really close so we figure that out 1st we go Where are those organizations what could I do for them I've been so may want to be the executive director but right now I'm only qualified to be the special projects I'm making that up but you understand you're going to look into this and you're going to go Ok and I qualified to do what I want to do for that organization if you're not go get qualified get a day job why are you getting qualified stay afloat if you are qualified let's go all in that determines where you live you track it whether. Just do your really clear you just got to go find some places to do what you were created to do this is fun exciting Today's your day you were wrongfully terminated in your mind I'm telling you you are released you've been kicked out of the nest fly little bird fly. Thanks for taking my call you bet what's going on I am actually calling on behalf of my son. Is 23 he's about to graduate with a degree in computer science. Looking more toward software development and coding and I thought I thank you for your advice and recommendations for him as he prepares to reach out to complete the job market and I'm looking at a little bit to get started before he graduate Yeah right when will he graduate again remind me. And does he want to return to the Houston area greater Houston area or is he open to working anywhere in the United States I think he's. Open to working where but. Right now are you concentrating more he's concentrating on. Only because some of the movie and the very reason I ask you that because I just want to make sure we knew what our strategy was whether it was a national strategy or is a regional local strategy So practically speaking he's looking right now well you guys are looking right now says parents. Are looking just to see what's out there what jobs. Are available are open that is a graduating senior So he's a newbie he's the rookie he's the freshman coming out of the real world one of the jobs he's already qualified for based on his education and his technical savvy and certifications you know that he's gotten as a virtue of his program as we begin to look at see what's out there you might find . Well he's qualified for some of these things but if he got this additional certification or this additional training or this additional technical skill it wouldn't bring in these jobs so what we're doing is we're looking at the universe of what's out there now that he could actually step into what's not too. Far beyond that making sense so far Yes Ok great so at that point we just see what's out there in Houston and what's what he's looking at now we we go to Ok now that we've done our research and we see the type of work that's out there and we know I want to do this this and this I'm willing to do this this illness but I got I want to and I got my willing to list Ok And it's a really good exercise now we start looking at the proximity principle it says in order to do what I want to do is going to be people that are doing it in places where it's happening so who do you your husband your family your close friends your good acquaintances social media coins is Who out there know somebody that works one of these companies that you guys have identified. Had Now we got ourselves an in you know with the relationship so we go we start reaching out to these people social media in person hey son very graduate he wants to apply for this job if you were to apply would you be willing to endorse him and that's where he used the Ken Coleman resume guide which gives you a free template tell you exactly how to do it and use the proximity principle. By the way I want to give you a copy of my book The proximity principle which is the proven plan that will lead to the career you love it's my graduation gift to your son Ok thank you so much you bet so he needs to read it you need to read it so you can keep him accountable to it super simple it's super practical and so we build kind of like a spider web a web of connections that's one of the chapters in the book I basically go into more detail what I just told you that's how you find opportunities that's how you connect to the opportunities and you got to use my resume guide and then I've got an additional 6 resume templates for only 99 at Can Call Me dot com So he's got some really busy lookin stuff I didn't design it though that that should be good news for you but the team has done a great job yeah it's great so we've got all the tools so hang on the line and let's get her copy or whatever format she wants of the proximity principle for her son which by the way I miss you miss it Jo It's hard to believe that we're days away from February when we were where to January go it's been a blur you know why it's been a blur Joe because you're doing work that you love your new so it's fun Oh of course it's light simpler for me too and I'm not even tired you know but for those of you who are in your sweet spot you're going really you're months flew by him because some people Joe listening right now are so miserable in their work that just getting to 2 o'clock feels like a week they get to 2 o'clock and they go oh my gosh. I got 3 more freaking hours in this place it'd be kidding me I don't know if I'm going to make everyone a cat videos to watch and Facebook what on earth am I going to do. As the status symbol of choice I'm Dave Ramsey your host Rachel Cruze Ramsey personality number one best selling author is my co-host the bank as we take your questions and your about life and about money open phones a triple 825-5225 that's triple 88255225 Aaron is in Gainesville Florida hi Aaron welcome to the Dave Ramsey Show. David Right so I'm so glad I can it's an. Honor to speak with you going no. Some So I'm 23 years old and I'm currently a graduate student they pay for my intuition and everything so I'm not taking on more debt and I get paid $25000.00 a year as a site. 37000 worth of debt from my undergrad and I get your ass on the side sometimes too so I probably made a little more than last year but anyway is not being. Aerospace engineering good for you well done yeah. So. I have to clarify I'm not completely calling this a recipe to a t. I have been trading in the markets over the past few months and very lucky to say that as of this morning I've profited 47 $1000.00 in team stark stark and I cashed out of it completely I currently have been a c.-h. Transfer only to my thing and I'd love to wipe out that $37000.00 and just. Like I'm enough of a spender and I've never seen this much money in my life simple I'd like your advice on what to do with the rest of it show you don't follow my advice about investing but you want my advice on what to do with the money you made when you got the luckiest to have your freaking life I suppose yeah. Yeah I definitely agree with you is. How much did you invest to make 46 on Game Stop. It was about $5000.00 I'm so glad for you and I'm glad I'm really glad you got out right like you got out because it's going to it's the guys are going to take a spanking on this for it's over but because obviously a lot of us leave the capitalization at this current rate is not the company's not worth anywhere near that it's lost money for 2 years as you know you know the story so I don't know but. Yeah how many how many years left and you haven't got school I'm just curious. I have about 3 more years and how are you and you got this fellowship all the way through the stipend and everything else and you have the fellowship all the way through you mean you have the stipend and the scholarship all of it all set up all the way through yes and there's a potential I get a raise but it's depending on a few factors we'll see what happens Ok my normal answer would be set the 46000 aside let your student loans lay there to ensure that you finish grad school without any debt but with your mis behavior patterns. Your tendency to spend and to gamble. I probably going to just pay off your student loans and that way it won't get away from you. And what I like to do is I like to look at myself in the mirror and say these are my weak spots what kind of system can I put in place to offset my weak spots and I just called yours out and the system would be paying off student loans so either one of those answers is going to be fine. And you know you've got the same problem that Rachel had when she hit got on the craps table she's addicted but I know I'm not a doctor and I do you look at. Once every 3 years people and yeah every 3 years but I mean you know and Rachel's mom hit with some quarters on the slot machine one time on the you know and made 50 bucks on the on the cruise one time and it cost me $500.00 before she quit putting quarters in there so that's the problem that's the problem you got because 78 percent the day traders lose money and you just got caught in an iconic story and make bank I mean you make 10 x. I'm really glad for you I mean I'm not wishing bad things on you because you could use this in a snap advance your future for yes I mean like you could be a baby step for I mean that could use the rest to put in your emergency funds like look at this again stop stock as taking a baby step or automatically Yeah and then that's it and then go back to the old school they were in and that's really wise over the long term because that's what it is go play do that Ok to deal with when you do day trading. You know 8 out of 10 people lose money. It's that simple it's a high risk play it literally is walking up to the craps table and dropping 4 grand on their 5 grand on there and you hit and you walk away with $46000.00 does that make that a good idea no it does not just because you beat the system one time and the danger is when you beat the system one time you think you've got the recipe I'm great at crash and I believe yeah that's what you believe in it's a roll of the dice nobody can be good at it it's not even a skill game. So there you go yeah pot hands with God and with all that Yeah right yeah that's yeah the sooner you go this is the problem with it right here and. So what's happened with Game Stop for those of you that don't know there's a group of guys and gals on Reddit that do some investing some day trading and Game Stop is a game company where you go and buy video games physically walk into a store and buy a video game and most video games are not downloaded and so their business model is blockbuster after Netflix came along they're screwed and they've lost money the last 2 years and they're projected to lose money for the next 2 years in other words they're projected to go out of business and their stock was trading down around $20.00 and a bunch of big fat cats on Wall Street started shorting the stock which means taking a position betting that the stock is going to go down and they make money if it goes down which is a pretty safe bet because the thing is imploding. And the companies know I am worth $20.00 a share in its current state and so these you know hedge fund fat cats are doing this so these guys on Reddit which are kind of their fund there are a bunch of rebels and they said we're going to get together ro screw over these hedge fund guys and so they all start buying Game Stop stock and run the price up and they run it up from 20 $1.00 to $500.00 a share. Which shirt the fact catch because that short positions all the margin calls that a man and i lost their butts probably lost a $1000000000.00 on it The Wall Street fat cats and so these young rebel rebel you know their little Reddit revolutionaries is what they're fun but. You know and I did some of them have made some money this guy made money made for $6000.00 way to go that's awesome but I mean just because you hit it you know you go into the market and you take a lotto ticket and you scratch and you make 50 grand that does not make that an investment strategy that's means you are so lucky that you know you beat all the statistical odds and you don't want that to be your investment strategy so don't follow this weird little moment in time and make it your New Year retire your new plan a wealth building plan it's you know how much money I put in Game Stop and say well I don't let I don't do this stuff let's talk about single stocks and stuff like the fact that Ok just so anyway it's confidant to watch the locust knock out the big fat cats and not get it but some of your low cost and AMC have and I don't you know they're messing with some of the companies are in place when it's in there but because movies are so stocks and so unbelievable and yeah so guys like Aaron got out in time you guys are still screwing around with it you don't like a spanking if you don't get out of there they're going to they're the same going to give you a spanking is coming this is the diagrams you show. Recruiters Ramsey personality number one best selling author and best selling author of the new book Know yourself know your money discover why you handle money the way you do and what to do about it jump in and check that out it will change everything on the way you look at things and that's very very important so let's do continue that discussion we don't usually do that many teaching segments in a row but I think it's good to do this because this is so such a hot topic right now. The Game Stop stock but what it illustrates is. Whether it's the lotto whether it's playing single stocks whether it's gambling in playing the roulette wheel or craps or whatever there's a thrill that comes with the risk that releases the dopamine and releases the proteins in the enzymes in your body and. That's why gambling is addictive Yeah and. Because there's literally I you know a flood of it's adrenaline it's your body creates a flood of drugs yeah adrenaline and other things and physical a physical reaction in your body when you're doing this so these guys are having a rush right now riding this low thing they've created they really are and it's not loading is a big thing I mean I think that they are they are doing this but what you can't do is confuse that get rich quick thing. With the mentality that you know get rich quick or get rich easy suddenly without effort with an actual plan to become wealthy because there's no evidence anywhere in any data that shows that people starting from you know nothing like I did and becoming wealthy did it using that mentality the get create rich quick mentality instead it leads you to buy nothing down real estate and you go broke Yeah me I did that Ok or lead you to play single stocks or day trade or Bitcoin or that's what's driving this the a lot of these things are gambling. Play and you know gambling on football games sport a sports sports game gaming is a huge mammoth industry now yes and it's all the same thing I'm trying to find an easy way to make a lot of money quickly and the problem is that not only the philosophy of that is bad the theology that is bad but there's notated back up your plan there's no one that does it and it works out and that's what scares me yes people put all their eggs in that kind of basket right and I think if I could just just figure this out it's all you've got to talk to me Ok and the pattern shows over history it's not really well not going to work we say it all the time it's boring but majority of of millionaires in that study that we did hear 8000 millionaires or 12100001000 millionaires they were millionaires because they had paid for home and a great for one k. They've invested over the long term over a long period of times like oh none of them says I made it with options puts calls playing commodities right you know and it's not as exciting but it's Ok to tell me that because people do ask a lot or ask me Hey you know I really want to like get into single stocks or or I do I enjoy gambling Is that Ok all of that. Here's my philosophy tell me if I'm wrong when your mindset is hey I am doing the plan I'm going to continue to invest in my retirement like my overall philosophy is this now if you want to take some money and think Ok yeah I'm going to Vegas I want to gamble some and having the mentality that that money instead of buying a concert ticket or instead of doing an experience that I come out of your entertainment on below not your investment cat I would also say though is that you have the emotional capacity to say if this money is gone it's mine because I'm just doing it for entertainment Yes I'm not sure it's a build Well yeah but we can say the same with single stocks of someone like I just want to take a few 100 bucks and kind of just like you know you got oxycodone The problem is there's what is you know it's Ok to do it but you just got to guard your mind and your heart to say why is that entertaining. What is it inside what's happening inside of me that makes losing money entertaining. Because that's what you're going to you're going to have the great show in Vegas you're going to come home without the money yeah yeah 99 times out of thin right and work that's why we're calling it entertainment right because it's not a legitimate investment vehicle Ok because it doesn't have any data to back up people building wealth using it now can do people get rich quick Occasionally yeah but they almost never keep it so in other words the greedy almost the greedy Well you know here's an example Ok what if you said Ok I'm going to buy some water tickets because that's fun I don't buy that out of my entertainment on the lope instead of my investment category Ok. And you know you're one of the rare people that actually do that and you emotionally protect yourself and spiritually protect your heart so that you don't really think you're going to win and you had a 1000000 dollars. The divorce rate among lotto winners is 10 fold the national average the bankruptcy rate within 10 years of hitting the lotto is 10 fold the national average 10 x. Now why is it that people at the lotto get bankrupt and and divorce divorce more often than those that don't 10 times more likely. What's going on inside you yeah and that's the very thing that caused you to think that that was a valid process is the same thing is going to cause you to be stupid again and call it a valid process and so you just it's just dangerous territory it's thin ice and so I mean I guess it is not entertaining to me to lose money so I don't grasp the concept personally but I'm not such a snot that if you want to go to Vegas and lose some money the crap titles I'm only mad at you and you call that entertainment with your girlfriend trip or whatever Ok but just what you really can never allow to happen is for your brain to start to tell itself that this actually works. Because if you ever start to tell yourself This actually works you are screwed. You know you're in trouble so yeah single stocks included I mean yeah let me give you a statistic interesting Wall Street Journal did this years ago. Took a monkey and blindfolded it. And handed it darts and they had all the stocks on the wall and the blindfolded monkey threw darts and picked stocks wherever the dart hit. They got 3 of the top guys on Wall Street to do what pick any single stock or any 3 single stocks that they wanted to pick to compete with them blindfolded monkey start portfolio. Of the 3 top guys on realist in the world on Wall Street the blindfolded monkey behind 2 of the. 2 of them and that's that's how ludicrous the idea is that you're going to screw around with single stocks and actually when i k I know why about the subject intellectually academically been licensing all this stuff and I don't screw with it because I know a lot about it so you know you can do it and call it fun and you can put it in your entertainment envelope if you want to and when people really got the Jones for a single stock they work for a company the company's doing real well and they want to buy stock in their company I always tell folks never have more than 10 percent of your net worth in a single stocks with the caveat that I don't buy single stock only any single stock not one I had some given to me and I sold them you know I just know and so if you want to do it no more than 10 percent why because you're probably going to lose it and you're still going to have 90 percent your wealth I feel is yeah yeah or it's not are it's going to underperform right at a minimum whatever your little day trade you know I have a trading account with my brokers so I can talk about it when I go golfing you know what a bunch of crap you know I've all little cracker barrel today well I ate a cracker barrel today that makes us equal my God it's unbelievable you know so it's just that that's what's going on and it's just dangerous is cried because of the way your brain chemistry works it gets addictive I mean it's yeah that it's all of it it's exciting it's made it is you know any better that when I went to Vegas my girls tracked a few years ago I had an envelope with casts. That was the amount of money I was going to spend gambling once it was gone it was a gun and it was all about and then I had another envelope that anytime I won I put it in the other envelope and when I read out by golly you came home came home with your winnings might take you to what I mean this is this is this is the case study of what I tell you the problems are here and then I got a little bit more that the worst possible thing that could happen you have the idea that you beat the system Oh God I had a number that made that yeah yeah that's all that makes it all Ok long as you go on below there right now obviously Ok it's all good so have fun have fun boys and girls this is the Dave Ramsey. Or we go to our lobby get out of the scanning for quitters something I hardly ever do today but I thought after our little game stop discussion I would say and I went down way before we even start on this question such pretty funny all the guys are sexy and stuff like they're making hedge fund manager jokes that how they're going to pay off all their debt that lost their money Dave Ramsey can tell you sell your card I remember it's really pretty funny to hear very cute and and some idiots thought that I would actually come out on the side of the hedge fund managers Why would a criminal is not a hedge fund managers I'm actually not on any of your old side I just spent 30 minutes telling you not to do what any of you were doing so I but it's still fun to watch the whole drama unfold and I'm glad to see. But you know God made money that's also monitor him against him by making money I'm just against it doing it in a way that causes you to lose it later and continue in bad systems cannot end Libby or whether soon the law Yeah we're going to winning Yes right here on the deck for you to do your debt free scream or you guys live Amarillo Texas All right welcome to Nashville How much did you guys pay off we paid off $105694.00 in 32 months good for you and your range of income during that time he joined $65.85 very good for you what you guys do for a living I my hairstylist and my husband is a supervisor for a distribution center and Rollo Co very good what kind of debt was this 160 although Or it was. Like 3 car and. 12 credit cards. And just personal loans just really hard and normal. Just like 3 cars you got to know yourself well we did we did have a. Home and when we 1st started Ok All right very good so what happened you got 32 months ago they put you on the journey well at the beginning of 2017 I had a client give me the money make over but so I read it and I'm like oh this is probably my answer because I did have we had 12 credit cards 10 of them were mine and he didn't know about it yet Wow So I read the book I told him about it and he's like things so I was like Ok I'm going to make the change so I got another job like I said I'm a fool I got full clients full clientele and so I got a job for a salon manager at a. Place and so I was working both jobs and then in October our friends I went posted f.p.u. . At the house so I'm like Ok I figure he's going to do it because it's our friends right well he kicked and screamed until we got there in our 1st class and when you hit us with scripture Dave he was hit by oh yes while so what changed and you say you I thought you were going to be more than Nerd I thought you said the numbers are like you know Ed for dollars I did not reject her I but the spender takers you are the one I like Ok we got to clean this up so so what hit you Scripture obviously I know but I don't know what was it was it a level of hell was at a level of conviction or what was that feeling it was the feeling. That Scripturally you know we were at war be and to borrow a slave to the lender we were tired of you and slave to this system here we want to be more godly and more Christian like so we do when you 1st started talking scripture just you know we had to make sure we were living that type of lifestyle so it got its lifestyle I mean as Christians were supposed to be like Christ so to be like Christ we do His work for beauty and to his word so that's powerful That's an interesting so you were kind of you were like me I guess you're probably just suspicious that this whole thing was like some kind of scam or something yes or I would be that's how I guess I immediately assumed the worst I have the spiritual gift of cynicism but. Yeah I just to me that sometimes it's too good to be true yeah usually is that you know true so I was really skeptical and then as we were going through it there was this time that the light but which is hit on you know Mr talk about the banks and their houses bigger and I worked at a print shop and later lack a look out my window at my work and I could see you know the big old banks out there and I realized I lived in a 40000 dollar home and I had dead they live in these big 01220 story you know building that it was just it's all came it just. Realized I was serving this world instead of helping the kingdom of God Wow So I that point you guys left the f.p.u. Class and I see you got the car you're driving home in are you both just kind of game on at that point all right we're going to change we're into something different yes yes our 1st budget meeting when the whole everything came out and she came to know how much we really had is when he's like Ok well this is not right and he did he said this is not on you this is on me because I am the leader of the house so we're going to do this together and we've never looked back we've. Needed to to. Church you guys are probably rock star coordinators. We're out of all we like to think so we hope so you know we want to be an example we want to be the example for those who do take it they're going to cut you know I think we're going to start a class on from going out on how to be I'll be happy that you know you've probably heard that site that's pretty incredible press author So let me see you had some hidden so tell talk to people up there because this is a very real thing a lot of people do they hide their spending because they don't want to confront the conflict at their spouse they want their spouse to judge them I mean like that that's a very normal conversation sadly in America today so what would you say to a wife or a husband out there that's listening that has hidden credit cards they hide purchases from their spouse what encouragement would you have to say I come clean and come together and work as a team Yeah just just that I mean get yourself a Kenneth. But it's so much more freedom when when your other spouse knows that you know you do have all of this hidden stuff where you're shopping in your shop and oh that's a new No I just haven't worn it for you know just nothing just come clean and so much free Jesus comes to set us free right so why are we where we bounded up in chains Yes So a lot of people we talk to that go through. F.p.u. Where they work this plan to get out of debt they say on the other ends Yeah we're debt free I'd like to end our marriage our marriage is even better like let's not merits class writing class but what's the talk about that aspect for you guys as a married couple What did it do to your marriage I would say it strengthen our marriage it took away the division you know the secrecy of it like for me to step up and say hey the spiritual leader of the home that was on me because if I'm the leader of the home that I should have known what was going on the finances she had a her own business which you know was a hair so we had 2 different bank accounts but that was still was that he used not to be engaged in that So as a husband you know you need to learn to be more engaged and have that open communication so that when things come up like this it was easier to handle it for me when we did the classes I just told her but it wasn't her fault it was my fault because I did take accountability of what was going on in the home. That's amazing amazing overpowerful that's so gentle so strong very very powerful very powerful well done so when you're leading the class you paid off $106032.00 multiple prodigal well done. What do you tell people the key to getting out of it is machine pressure. Yeah like I said I mean to be Christians we're supposed to be Christ like so what does the Lord say about money what does the Lord say about you know we're not supposed to be slaves to the land we are supposed to give and not you know we don't need everything that we think we need you know the best cars the best he wants us to have good things but not where we go in the name and so I mean being obedient to the word that's the key for us we want to be better Christian yes now. I do too after making their mark up Ok we have a strong foundation our church is awesome and he our pastor actually wants to do you know call it momentum in the church while he wants and so he is we are in the process all right around people show yeah right kids call this our youngest son has a wife and. Yeah Ok sorry a girl about to write a letter you can look up on me or you're going to your heart out of 6 wells are paid over 32 months Mike 65 to 85 8 can of them let me count to go. 3. What. Mean so many many years ago I was invited to be on the Oprah Winfrey show back when she started show and it was a big deal because if you got on Oprah and she extended her scepter to you. And gave you the nod your book would sell me copies I mean it was she had a amazing power in the publishing world for selling books and so getting on there was like a dream come true and so we worked for weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks working with their team and they laid out a 52 page script and we were going to work with 3 different couples on 3 different money problems on the show and of course I got with them ahead of time and learned a lot about their stuff and then I was to come on the show and give them advice on a particular situation and you know went pretty well through the 1st 2. Are through the 1st one and in the midst of the next one was a guy his wife had hidden 78000 hours of student loan from him that he didn't know she had. And my contention was obviously it's bad for her to lie and have have hidden and save her husband no question about that you know you should never deceive your spouse it's not a thing but I said also you know part of this is on him because he's not engaged enough and his own household to know that $78000.00 had gone through your house and you didn't know what happened you know and. She was in charge of the money and he was just making money and so she did whatever flips she wanted including this and so it was in the script like and Dave says you know and Oprah rates that and she goes off on me. She just secured got pissed she's like that is absolutely not right it is not his fault she should know why and he delegated the handling of the money to her and then she just misbehaved and I said well that that is that's a lot of that's true but on the other hand in a marriage you're supposed to be engaged enough in your life to know what the flips going on as the husband or the wife Yeah either one of you need to know what's going on don't just talk about that that's what made me think about it and and she just went on and on and on and on I said listen this is not a joint venture it's not a business it's a marriage yeah and now you are one well her audience clapped when she even got matter because I took my stuff didn't go well it didn't go in so many books. That are question Mother Nature. Is pretty powerful not to live but not to do and it's amazing to me how many women I talk too long for their husbands to care they want their husbands involved and they're like oh they how do I get my husband on board or how do I how do I get him to care how do I have him start you know help me pay off debt right I mean the husband said this about wives as well I mean I don't get it you know for its life but I do hear that for women and so there is a call to you men out there you husbands and their man he needs teach a class on well just manhood and just stepping in and that's loving your family so well that both of you both of you have a say it's not that one doesn't have the other right your team in the West you both lock arms they were in this together but when there is a level of unity and I can see because the woman when a husband comes in and says Ok let's do this together there's just the safety there is and so gentlemen it's a challenge you step and if you're not stepping down well this is what I probably longs for it's it's exam it's exhausting it's lonely if you're doing it by yourself well even if you're the one that's the administrative one who's actually probably going to do most of the actual money work just to emotionally and spiritually carry the weight together yes in your case which than is the nerdy $1.00 that runs the stuff just because it's his nature and it's not your nature. But you know. You know another household might be in a different way and so you know either way no one needs to be carrying the stuff by themselves it's not fair it's not efficient it's not practical and it does not give you the result you want and to that point just extend it to clarify and that means it's the emotional it's the conversations you're in as the one who actually writes out the bills or takes the bill and takes out the check you can't write but that doesn't matter that the logistical side you have or want to do it but the fact that we're making decisions together we're talking about money we have unified goals and all of that agreeing on a budget note nothing is hidden yet all of that a lot of this is covered in Ridgewood new book Know yourself know your money and you can get in there and know what your tendencies are what your spouse's tendencies are and it gives you a platform to have a discussion and increase this communication they were just beautiful couple they're wonderful your spirit was just incredible Yeah I mean both of them and wow is powerful All right Elizabeth is in Huntsville Hi Elizabeth welcome to the diagrams the show so you can write well I don't know much very sure. Going help. So my father passed away in Jena 2000 nonpaying pretty suddenly and he was an only child and hate to care of my grandmother who is way to take care of pretty much all of her finances. And in the process of all of that he kind of gotten itself into some financial trouble himself and was kind of. I used the word failing because she knew about it but she didn't want to say he knew about it using her money because he was attached to her bank account. So he. Kind of has that kind of PAs into the story but. After he passed away she was 2 hours from us so she handed I was alone I've got 2 small children my sister doesn't live here Mother There's a teenager so. She's hundreds ended up with this caretaker who we don't really know where she came from she's a 1st rate Shane genuine as it's good of gold but my grandmother has a lot of money. And. She has this woman who come to take her doctor's appointment holders remember. She is in her white seventy's and wants a lot of money. I don't know how much. 100000 . So I would study who's going to and popular and Ok I see a lot of my my concern is what that meant Ok well in a way what you don't do about it. I was the executor of my father's estate and so I kind of of course I wouldn't wish that on the worst in the Maid but somebody's got to do it and then I have kind of. Talk to my grandmother what she has might call me. You know about it being already here it and I hate to think of it as my many I did not work for that many but our starting point the point is you don't want her to get messed over by somebody who snake their way into an old lady's life. You were. Jamie Martley David Bandcamp and Scott Baba the cuts for making sense of it all of them having some fun for life and friendship this is markedly Santana and Robin Strasser. Doing the Marquis de camp and Robert show Jay Park but they can't shout Roberts. But going on. To me was saying you know a little bit of normalcy we're going to see it the spring and even more in the summertime we're all waiting for it right now there's difficult times especially with vaccine rollout in different parts of the United States the President Joe Biden has a bold plan David you have the story here well even though he said earlier this week that anyone who wanted a vaccine would probably be able to get it in the spring now Joe Biden is saying that that goal really be reached by the fall he may have misspoken there as we've heard the spin from the White House press secretary Well no I mean I well we're I mean remember he. I'll circle back that's what you always says all circle back so although who knows what president actually talking about. Because when he was talking about the vaccine his bold plan seemed to not really be all that bold based on what he said. From 400000000 order to 600000000 this enough vaccine to fully vaccinate 300 Americans by and in the summer that began in the fall but we want to make which status are you talking about your $3300.00 which county is he talking to fully vaccinate $300.00 American satellite by end of the summer the beginning of the fall but we want to make it look that's I want to repeat and big enough to fully vaccinate 300 Americans to be to spend Demming Ok in a 1000000 Americans very you go. Close a stay at it well Roger again he did say like 200000000 people have died from Kovac in another 150000000 people have died from guns in the last 10 years so yes I mean yeah 300 people that's pretty much all that we've got left in this country to be vaccinated so all right. Ok More on that a little bit later want to get to what was your favorite story yesterday David and a lot of people been talking about it and that's game stuff oh dude and this Wall Street story which is unbelievable so this game stop saga continues Wall Street pros are panicking right now so so the short version is a bunch of Wall Street pros bet on games stopped to fail and in fact were actively investing in such a way that would push for the company to fail even more this is short selling and a bunch of dudes on Reddit decided to buy Game Stop shares which inflated the price and owes to the suits yesterday just in one day. Investors lost $14300000000.00 in our one day. Because of the scheme I mean there's a lot of conversation David when you bring this up and we go by short selling we talk about they bought low and they do these guys come in and they they pirate this thing and go Hi Yeah well what exactly what exactly does all this mean people have asked me like What do you what do you mean what is going on is Ok I have I have an analogy and I hope this simplifies it a lot it's the 10000 foot view of what's going on but this example let's say that Scott Robins has a brand new signed baseball Yes he shows it to me and says Hey David Jamie says this is worth $10.00 I think to myself that's not worth $10.00 so I asked Robbins to let me borrow that baseball for a day I promise to give it back tomorrow I will give it back tomorrow and Scott says Ok here you go here's my baseball Don't scuff it Ok but by the way that voice is in person they should be acting like it because mocking something. So then I turn around and sell the baseball to Jamie for $10.00 The next morning Jamie says man I called around and found out this baseball is actually worth $1.00 so I buy it back from him for $1.00 and in return the baseball the Scot so I sold it for 10 I'd bought it for one I made $9.00 off of this because Jamie had overvalued the price of this baseball right. So the Game Stop thing is where you had a bunch of dudes on Reddit who hijacked that entire process when they noticed it was happening so I used the same scenario I borrowed this baseball from Sky I sold it to Jamie for $10.00 but thousands of people decided to call Jamie and offer him a bunch of cash for it so when I go to buy it back the asking price is now let's say a 1000 dollars. I have to get that baseball back to Scott I have to I am obligated to give that baseball back to Scott Robin. Which means I have no choice but to buy it back at that cost so I sold it for $10.00 had to buy it back for a $1000.00 Now imagine that except you're talking about shares of Game Stop and now am see Nokia is this morning and you're talking about billions of dollars yes that people cause with short selling there's no limit to the amount you can lose right if you invest $10.00 in something and the value goes down you can really only lose that initial investment with short selling because you're obligated to buy it back to return it to the broker you borrowed it from it you have to buy it back for whatever the cost is when when you need to return it we talked to a buddy of our just today that's all I'm going to say as this was unfolding. And Game Stop was the big part of the story but he said yeah I also bought Black Berry yes and AMC and all these others at the same time he was in on that and we're just laughing because oh my gosh as I said yesterday man if it meant like people losing their 41 K.'s I wouldn't find it so funny but these hedge fund guys yeah that never seem to be held accountable for the things they do and everybody is watching this and the little guy puts it over on them and it's funny to a lot of people it is well and now you've got retail trading apps Robinhood is one of the big ones which was supposed to be about you know letting people trade even the little guy they're not letting people buy the targeted stocks right now and read it temporarily shut down the page where all this was being orchestrated because the number one rule of Wall Street is you can screw over anyone except us doesn't it remind you of Vegas kicking out people that beat them in that case really funny you say that because I agree with you. You can't you don't go to Vegas to win they don't build this stuff because people when they go because you're a loser when you start winning they get very uncomfortable now you only won so much Yeah the amazing thing is that now you have bipartisan agreement that anybody who is shutting down trading of Game Stop or or AMC or Nokia should be investigated for basically fraud because they're they are actively manipulating the market because you can sell the shares that you have or you can hold on them but you cannot buy more they are actively preventing people from buying on those platforms that they're using So you've got Ted Cruz Donald Trump Jr. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and Rasheed had to leave on the same page right now you've got everybody from the far right to the far left going. This is this is b.s. You can't do this just because you're getting beat at your own game. It does feel like working class against the elites Yeah and so that's the other funny part is you have Wall Street freaking out and then people on c. And b. C. Freaking out Oh you know this is fairly. Good fundamentals. I loved this Charles Payne on Fox Business he had a rant for the ages about how Wall Street is fighting back on this all of this nonsense all this noise all this whining about Wall Street it's making me sick 140 percent of Game Stop was short I didn't hear one person on t.v. Complaining about Wall Street trying to crush Game Stop and don't want to end the middle of that so makes money everyone is up in arms I have a kid who bought a house he had only been Think $1000.00 and bought a house that was sort of had their way with the market for decades no one's ever complained about it so I am thrilled if you are going to try to destroy the company by starting 140 percent of the stock you have to accept the fact that in the middle that serves are playing the same game that you're playing and now you're losing your gift Yeah yeah yeah yeah because that's the other thing man they were buying buying and selling these these firms these funds were buying and selling so frequently that they were trading stocks that didn't actually exist so you want to talk to me about free market you know free market or market fundamentals or this is terrible Dude you're trading on imaginary shares of a company that you're actively trying to destroy Here's the world's smallest violin for your losses Yeah you know what I just want to play this real quick. So today on n.b.c. On the Today show they have Stephanie Ruhle on from c. And b. C. Trying to explain this to Savannah and Hoda they're like we don't speak the c. And b. C. Stuff can you explain and so she starts to talk about the Robin Hood and these are professional investors this group of people and then she says and here's the other side this thing is not over right and the little guys aren't coming in saying I finally have my act that I've got this new strategy they're betting on companies not just Game Stop they're buying Black Berry and see movie theaters Build a Bear socks that are struggling because the companies are struggling and what's happening right now they're driving up the price but there's a disconnect these stock performance these inflated prices don't reflect what the underlying company is doing you hear the wind in their hear that's not the point I know. Nobody uses Well I mean unfortunately there may be some people who don't really understand how any of this works and they may be throwing a lot of cash at something that's not going to pay out that could I that's very true that's very possible but you know again you play the game you could lose right the point of this is to absolutely punish people who have been rigging the financial game for decades she goes on so to your point about fragility people are worried that this could be a lot like the Internet bubble remember in 1909 every news by every step of the dot com At the end until they realize a lot of those companies were doing very well and that bubble burst Well I mean just crazy well. This is nothing like that you know that the dot com thing was based on investing heavily in an industry you didn't understand this is about one thing and one thing only own ing the freaking Wall Street Bros that's it that you know but I was like what would make a good diverse portfolio I'll buy Orange Julius nobody's doing that. Here's the rest of what she said and more people are very worried these new investors you know how I want a lot of experience and make a move and current. That is Ok I'll avoid the rest because then I know that because of what she said which is stupid Savannah Hota feel like now they're in for I think we speak a little c n b c Now that was going to you know and this is how I put my money under the mattress Ok you should continue to do so. All these people who were just meaning their way into Yeah making all these Wall Street firms insolvent you gotta think about the little guy who's going to lose 300 bucks. She only how quickly a name check business is I haven't thought of in like 20 years something no. One But the other that's one of them I know. Something else that I happen to see. It's the proud boy's froggeries I thought when Joe Biden was elected president all this was going away well I thought I thought Joe Biden very clearly also told us to be more worried about the poor boys yeah that is true he did warn us. He was talking about the sandwich Ok. Yes but he did disavow the Duran Duran classic wild boy because he thought he could inspire the prog was I didn't know that guy to maybe that was just a rumor that's not verified heck you say Ok well I don't write the column on that one yet fine piece of music too so it's watching the Today show to get you know what a lot of people see is their new source Yeah you just measuring Ok Are they telling the truth how much of this is fake news how much of it spin course a lot of it spend it's like they're breaking stories here saying it is probably yes and these white supremacists that's why there's still so many National Guard people still in d.c. I have no idea the threat is ongoing thank you for telling me Ok so I don't know if anyone thought that was a well organized attack on January 6th or just. A bunch of people like l.a. Ok let's do this. I don't know but they tell in the story that this is something to watch out for and here's a little history to want to proud boys n.b.c. News reporter Ben Collins has been covering the proud boys movement which formed in 2016 the group of mostly white men calling themselves Western chauvinist fighting what they call anti male bias it started pretty small in fact there were initiation rituals for example to be initiated into the crowd whereas you had to be beaten up while listening 5 breakfast cereals that's a real thing you have to do it was very juvenile but after that disturbing and juvenile can take a punch I could do that kiddie show. But after that disturbing and violent white nationalist rally in Charlottesville in 2017 the crowd boys who larger they were invited white nationalists they would invite in various different organizations committed to fighting in the street they would meet at counter protest the Blackest Night or Ok so as the story goes on they're sort of painting the picture of the history of the Prague Boyce right there's not so much information on why they're still an ongoing threat just how this happened and this was quite a while back when we were talking about this group at least when it started I would say mostly white but not just white people is that accurate. Well you know one of the leaders is not a white guy the dude that Reuters just reported with well it's an informant for the f.b.i. For like yes yes that they they talk about that in this story you get to do you see . How does he explain his actions to one of the guys he got out of control dominant position was attorney just watch him as a father of 2 from Rochester New York a former Marine and business owner who struggled during the pandemic the 1st generation in an American loves this country and he won't tell you this was Dominick 6 months ago I think a lot of people were worried by internet trolls and groups who says he was the f.b.i. Noted was for listening to music because they were trying to say he was coordinating he had an earpiece and so I don't think I was listening to music it was the rest of. Well it was Panthera. I have no idea what it was for to that point that they're trying to make is there anything there do you think where some people whether it was Cuban on or that were getting close to the edge had anything to do with the lockdowns or you feel isolated because they paint this picture you would get together with 3 of the guys and have beers and they would all complain about what was going on and that was part of it and that's why they ended up at the Capitol. You know by the end of the report. I'm wondering Ok it doesn't seem like there solid evidence that this is an ongoing report and it's also hard to believe that they're well organized you know especially when they talk about you know the one guy he could get beat up because they don't like snitches the guy was a leader we reached out and didn't hear back but in an interview with Reuters he denied he ever worked with police he also told The Wall Street Journal the proud boys didn't coordinate their actions or intend to storm the Capitol we also reached out to an attorney for Joe big as the problem as leader who you saw was inside the Capitol and they declined to comment how cording to an f.b.i. Special agent now in court filings Biggs denied knowledge of any pre-planning of storming the Capitol I don't think there's any proof of that is there a crate moment it plays the part of Ohio kid it's scary as it is what's what's happening to the state of this power organization since the riots. Voided of these proud boys. By the way so there's no proof here I just want to play this for you real quick on this this is that is this where wherever it comes from politically and when we should be the 1st to go though I disagree they are strickly principled anti fascist when you go to cancer treatment the radiation is tough treatment but it is Michel really. Product show Markley can ravage Ok how many elderly people died in New York and was this covered up this looks like a cover up here now anyone who's actually been paying attention to the saga of America's favorite governor Andrew Cuomo knows this already but it's interesting because now the call is coming from inside the house because the New York attorney general is saying Boy it sure looks like the Cuomo administration covered up how many people died in nursing homes. Ok is that attorney general a Democrat or a Republican does he know how this works is that he's a Democrat which he's a Democrat boy he's going after Governor Andrew Cuomo saying that the state drastically in fact under counted the number of cold the deaths in nursing homes now the state claims 8500 people in nursing homes roughly died from coal that the attorney general will teach you James says they undercounted that by as much as 50 percent Whoa now I already have plowed Lateesha Oh right I mean there's a lot of times the way this works if it's same political party that's not coming out into the public right so again if anybody has paid attention we've talked about it for months you know what was going on in New York and how this guy Andrew Cuomo is the worst governor in the United States of America when it comes to handling coded I mean this is a guy who in the middle of a pandemic wrote a wrote a book about leadership about how great he was even though his state suffered the worst losses in the United States when he walked about you know it affects all of us that have sometimes it's family members or friends have family members in nursing homes you don't know what to do a lot of people have taken their loved ones out of those facilities to come live with them and to quit a job or whatever because you don't know what's going to go on there and early on the media made Cuomo into this hero of here's how to handle this covert 19 crises you imagine the audacity though of writing a book before a pandemic ends right it's like a quarterback penning a novel on winning the Super Bowl or a biography and at halftime right it's the coach of the Atlanta Falcons right now they beat Tom Brady in the Patriot patriot Yes time and winning awards for yeah I'm guessing you couldn't say no to the money because someone said you know what there are enough dopes out there that would buy this thing hey man could we go straight to book for you how much is it worth. Ok sure so with the nursing home issue just to recap Cuomo ordered nursing homes to take over patients whether they could safely handle them or not that was literally in black and white writing right he claims he was following c.d.c. Guidance but that's a lie and. That was him trying to be woke trying to score woke points we can't have any discrimination here right and so that's also why he quietly changed the order and then scrubbed the original order from the state's website when it came to counting Cova deaths in nursing homes this is where the cover up comes into play because the state was only counting and is still only counting deaths that happen inside a nursing home as a nursing home death so if a patient dies at the hospital or even on the way to the hospital or in the parking lot that's not counted as a nursing home death so the a.g. Put out a report confirming all of this and yeah we need to investigate there's all that stuff and in one instance one facility reported officially 11 confirmed and produce 0 presumed deaths to the health department. The attorney general's survey of that same facility found 40 deaths including $27.00 at the home and 13 in hospitals and just to take you. On a nice little. Magic Carpet Ride of incompetence. Governor Andrew Cuomo here carpet ride of confidence yes thank you. This is the ever evolving story that this guy has told and up to this point we'll see what happens you know once this story really makes its way to the morning news shows tomorrow. But this is this these are all the excuses that have been issued without any pushback so at 1st you have ender Cuomo saying the nursing home policy was following the feds serious the directive which was modeled on the federal directive said you cannot this criminal 8 but the state law clearly says a nursing home can't accept a person unless they can can treat them no the original directive actually said you can't even ask right we need for a bed space in the hospital so you got to take it that's right and then when that comes out Andrew Cuomo has excuse later became what we never actually sent people back to nursing homes get a load of this guy we always had additional hospital beds and emergency beds so no nursing home was forced to pay someone we never got the other states are they are today interestingly enough and they're Republican states and that's why the president this stop saying you know. We never even did it is going on and a liar and then this is my favorite excuse when he confronted again again if you fall of local New York media you know this story because they've been on it if you followed conservative media you know this story because well we've been on yes this is my favorite excuse for the debacle that involved nursing homes in New York this is Andrew Cuomo older people vulnerable people are going to die from this fires. That is going to happen. This guy whatever you do that you do went straight up old school old people die man it's what they do hit and that never comes back to haunt him because you've got people protecting him I think it will now man you wonder where this goes he won't be the fall guy it'll be somebody nobody's ever heard of who winds up being tall person for it but we'll see what happens here my boy blew me little people do they die because and everything the left accuse Donald Trump of doing or not doing during this pandemic injury Cuomo actually did he really did and I'm glad you put that they get as good very good. He wanted them you know. It's a joke man these many when are are you kidding me I will switch gears I could go off on a rant I need to get to this story Michigan State saw this a campus reform a lot of college campuses this happens where there is some sort of racial incident Ok someone says something insensitive it gets reported right and so they decided to track Ok how many racial incidents have we had like in 5 years 1200 at Michigan State in mind seems excessive Wow And so they decided to look into this and find out Ok now we know some of the time when you have you know different people crying either racism or sometimes I was beaten up because I'm a trans person it ends up that's not true it was all fabricated how many of these are actually Violet Ok so they look into it and as it turns out well out of 1208 were truly oh my God how it. Related to schools whole discrimination policy Wow Yes. That's according to the data provided to the Lansing State Journal by Michigan State's Office of institutional equity. It's a fun place. And he said of all these instances $76.00 revealed issues with conduct and of those $7068.00 instances less than one percent of all reported constituted violations of the school's policies and so campus reform independently confirmed the data with the Michigan State University office of institutional equity and the spokesperson there so whenever you hear you know someone's accused of it you really do have to take it with a grain of salt and we all have to live in this place where Ok. It's not that I don't want to believe you but we're also going to have to see some proof and some evidence of this well that's one of the reasons why I think a lot of people have and myself included had a problem with the way that media and politicians would use the f.b.i. Hate crimes that to say this is trumps America because those were reports those were not white confirmed or prosecuted cases you're like well the reports of hate crime got up 700 percent yeah but if you actually get into the nitty gritty how many hoaxes were there how many were just not even really valid criminal complaints you know so they take this raw number and they just say well this is drums America well that you're actually just using that data in correctly yes and when there is a correction in a story a lot of times legacy media doesn't report the update right now it's buried on page 10 b. Or whatever at the bottom yet but on news t.v. You just don't see it. This is never talk about what was that story out in New York a few years ago where a Muslim woman young woman oh that was right after the election yeah who said that somebody came up to were and ripped her job off on a subway correct and that made national news that was like oh my gosh strums America attacks against a Muslim woman in New York City Oh my gosh I never thought I'd see it when it turns out that she was actually out past curfew and so she made this up she made the entire thing up in order to get out of getting in trouble for being out wander than she or later than she was supposed to be that's right and that part did not make the breathless have in fact I don't even know if n.b.c. Ever really followed up with that maybe they did I don't know if c.b.s. Did I mean it certainly isn't addressed with the same vigor as the original one the original claim right now they never do does it seem to be one other story real quick that Harvard cancelled a course on what is called the controversial policing method that they were talking about using and specific towns and so the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Harvard cancelled this course because of pressure from the students you know like well my gosh it's this controversial policing method that wasn't what David Van can't patented baton to the back of the skull No it was not and now you know listen I'm not saying I'm against you David if people said that was a little too extreme and I would say Ok how about the Markley method just a public caning that's still better than mine which was electric bleachers Yeah that's even. Right but know that all this was was the data fusion in complex systems a case study. What was this about it was all they used to disrupt gang illicit drug activity in Springfield Massachusetts and that's where it's currently in use this was developed by well. The u.s. Military by their work in community policing in Iraq and Afghanistan but part of what that was is actually a counterinsurgency technique where you become friends with the people you've seen as a different towns across the United States were almost like you have police talking to gang members Yeah Ok saying you can get a lot of trouble here we sort of want to partner together we don't want people going to jail forever yeah there's community or resident office or programs even where the city will buy or rent a house so a cop can live in the neighborhood Yes it was created by a retired Massachusetts state trooper but as soon as the students at Harvard found out it was inspired by the u.s. Military that's all they needed to know cancel it no we're not we're not going to have this here and you have the inmates running the asylum so it's like Ok Ok that's offensive we need to do better will cancel that I mean on its face I mean that. That's a good idea I think if you actually know groove community police relations I can't think of a better way than to have actually cops in neighborhoods showing that they're invested in making that community better not just cracking skulls. But know just because well it's speired by the military carry cash that we can't have that my goodness it was inspired by and people would be fine because it's just an idea reimagining policing of course which is just let it go Yes Ok people will sell their own differences of course the imagining policing is really just imagining what people might do right that's and it's an imaginary thing and the people who want that don't have to worry about it because they're living in a community where this type of thing doesn't happen but they know what's right for you real quick I saw this headline even without as many Super Bowl parties Americans are still going to eat a record breaking number of weighing all right good job yeah nice going and I was thinking Who says there's not going to be that many Super Bowl parties. He didn't even if you are canceling it and not having other people around is the time to dig in and wing on wings finally now you don't have to have any shame so you're alone in the daylights out of it yeah you saying you eat less around you Rob And yeah I do yeah I like it when you're on your own then it's you don't really get in a snack time that it's drinking ranch dressing. Oh my gosh if you see this what is the other big news out there and then the number one thing bombs what stays pretty bloody well coming up right here. When running a business h.r.
