Welcome back to Lars Larson Jones a pleasure to be with you on a Wednesday night glad to get your phone calls and your e-mails and I always told you I would tell you when I disagree with President Trump I still support him I voted for him I endorse him all be voting for him again in just over a year but when I disagree I'm going to tell you and I'll tell you the details on that next should the 16 year old climate activist gratitude and Berg win a Nobel Peace Prize for starting a global movement to skip school why is America's so quick to believe hate crime hoaxes before the evidence is allowed to speak for itself and coming up later on this hour I'll talk to the White House about why they're refusing to comply with the impeachment inquiry or as I call it Nancy's jihad that's going on and Capitol Hill and cast a vote in my Twitter poll we put up a brand new question every night made from the News of the day tonight's Twitter poll question based on Hillary Clinton's statement that she could beat Donald Trump if she again she says if only she were allowed to run against him maybe there does need to be a rematch I mean obviously I can beat him again but you know I just obviously I can beat him again the woman is so delusional it's a wonder they allow her anywhere near a campaign is Hillary Clinton right could she be Donald Trump and. 2020 is our question to options yes she should run or true no she's a loser I know she's just sitting in the hot on the sidelines thinking if they just asked me to run why 3rd time's a charm I'd be able to win this time around no you wouldn't but it would be interesting to see Donald Trump mop the floor with you our Twitter poll found at Lars Larson Show on Twitter Lars Larssen dot com on the web and brought to you by a Mac. K. The Kurds want protection from the Turks why not a un man d.m.z. Between the 2 sides along the northern Syrian border please act before too many innocent people are killed and I will tell you that I do disagree with the president about this you recall that about a year ago. The president said we're going to pull all the troops out of Syria you remember that those troops were 1st put on the ground in Syria by Barack Obama without talking to Congress and without telling the American public we found I remember almost almost to the day when it happened because a.b.c. News broke the story that we have American troops on the ground advising various allies of supposed allies in Syria and I remember thinking how long they've been there 2 years yeah that we've had people on the ground there and Barack Obama did is a Secret War Now ordinarily the left is against secret wars but apparently if Obama started than that's Ok So as of last year we had about 2500 troops on the ground today we have about a 1000 and now the president has said we're pulling back from that he's essentially given the green light to Turkey Well Turkey has now launched a military operation in northern Syria and air to one said that he's going to do that Turkish armed forces together with the Syrian national army against the p.k. K y p.g. And de ash terrorist organizations in northern Syria. Our aim is to destroy the terror corridor which is trying to be established on our southern border and bring peace to the region that's what everyone tweeted out President Trump said later today that the u.s. Did not endorse the attack but if we essentially gave them the green light I think this was a bad decision do I think we should have American troops on the ground in all kinds of different foreign conflicts no on the other hand do I want to see ISIS Eisel day yes whatever you want to call them another brand of terrorist groups spring up to replace what we wiped out in ISIS that was a great accomplishment for President Trump and it was a pathetic response by his predecessor Obama remember when Obama sat there on a.b.c. Television and said you don't understand how hard it is to get to ISIS because they're so they're so remote they're in rocka and and then a day or 2 later the French and the and the Russians bomb the daylights out of ice as and showed Obama had just how easy it actually could be by 2 militaries that I would venture to say without any insult to the French or the Russians are inferior to the United States of America oh and by the way a Oh see I mentioned her she's well she's got a little hypocrisy going on because back in 2018 the Democrat Party leader was against endless wars in her campaign website it states it's still up there by the way since the invasion of Iraq in 2003 of United States has untangled itself in war and occupation throughout the Middle East so she was against a military occupation before Trump began removing the troops from northern Syria so now she joins the Democrats this week in attacking President Trump for removing troops in northern Syria she wants the military to stay so I guess it's whatever trumps for she's against That's an easier way to understand where a o c is coming from let's go to Suzanne in North Carolina Hey Suzanne welcome to The Lars Larson Show what's on your mind tonight. Hi I just wanted to make the point in reference to Hillary Clinton you know run any chance and you said you know maybe she thinks 3rd time's a charm well she sails like a dictator for Mr world country like she is just battling the term and to ram it down our throats despite what the country just said I don't disagree with you at all Suzanne thanks for the call hiring can be a slow process for example cafe El Toro they needed a director of coffee but Dillon misquotes was having trouble finding applicants so he went to zipper cutter dot com zipper Cooter finds the candidates for you it identifies people the right experience so you get qualified candidates fast Dillon posted his job and zip recruiter he got candidates right away he also used the candidate rating feature to filter the applicants so he could focus on the best ones and that's how Dylan found his new director of coffee with the results like that in just days it's no wonder 4 out of 5 employers have post on Zip for good or get a quality candidate through the site the 1st day zipper cutter so effective tried for free at this web address simper critter dot com slash Lars that zipper Cooter dot com slash l a r s zipper Cooter dot com slash large zipper critter is the best way to fight a higher coming up the president has done a lot to boost the country's economy but a string of upcoming executive orders are really going to give us a big boost to small business in this country. S. N. X. . Building in today's Twitter cold like me at large large. Welcome back to the Lars Larson Show we have a vigorous economy that is going on right now yes there are concerns about whether or not it's softening up but I'm I'm not too concerned about that but I try to imagine what this president might have been able to achieve had he been able to do the rollback of regulations the unnecessary ones that could truly make the economy take off taxes have been rolled back energy remains plentiful and relatively low cost so the president is going to have to go out a different way than he has been because he's not eating getting help from his own party when the house was still in Republican hands and he's certainly not getting any help from Nancy Pelosi who can only understand one thing the impeachment word James brawled joins me now who is a research fellow at the Mercator Center at George Mason University and a professor of law over at Antonin Scalia law school James welcome back to the program thank you so Professor. Listen I think the president could do a lot of things if he could get the Congress on board but since he has only the Thera's of the executive in his hands right now what is he going to be able to do and what has he been doing lately to make sure that small business prospers in this country. Sure so the president has set up a pretty rigorous 'd regulatory reform that sort of the last couple years for the 1st time ever agencies are having budgets allocated to them each year in terms of how much regulatory costs they can impose on the public this is a this is a 1000000000 new phenomenon it's never happened before it's put in place a policy where for every new regulation 2 are going to be have to have to be eliminated and then just today he signed a couple executive orders that are attempting to rein in some of the informal ways that regulated regulatory agencies can can impose mandates such as through policy documents or guidance documents as they're sometimes called to tell me that is why I mean I guess I wonder Up till now all these federal agencies have been able to just say we're going to write some new regs and the consequences be damned we don't have to care or didn't have to care of to this point what kind of effect this would have because I know that when people hear regulations they they may think in the most generous way toward toward regulatory agencies why those are all for our good for our safety for you know to avoid bad consequences one kind or another but in many cases regulations in every kind of business my business the trucking business any business are things that cost money don't necessarily do the customer any good and are simply was one of my friends like to say like say dogs bark ducks quack and regulators regulate that when you stablished these agencies it's as though everybody comes into work says hey boss I got an idea for 10 new ideas to regulate America they seem to think you know like the guy with the hammer where everything in the world looks like a nail and they don't have to care what the consequences are. So these agencies tend to write more regulations and new regulations than they remove from them from the existing stock of rules so we do tend to get a regulatory system that's increasing in complexity in volume over time that there are some checks and balances built into the system so in 1906 something called the Administrative Procedure Act was passed and that was supposed to allow public participation in the rule making process agencies have to see comments from the public before they can finalize regulations also since the early eighty's there's been requirements for agencies to do cost benefit analysis to evaluate the economic impacts of their regulations now the problem is that agencies are able to get around these requirements very easily so there was a study from a couple of years ago that found more than half of regulations don't go through the commenting process how do they get around you finalized how you're going to run a roof over. They can do things like just issue a regulation that's direct to final So some of these regulations are going to be somewhat non-controversial. Issues. But on the so for the big regulations they will probably go through the commenting process but a lot of the kind of smaller ones that make the public isn't Thanks much attention to they can just issue in final form without taking comments and most regulations don't get a cost benefit analysis either it's really only that the biggest regulations make the biggest one per cent of regulations or so have a cost benefit analysis because I have some checks and balances they're just not they're not color to well and that's the thing that bothers me to the Congress maybe somebody says well this is only going to impose you know 20 or $30000000.00 in cost on a bunch of businesses and and I mean businesses spread across America that may seem small to them but to the small business owner who's told hey you have to comply with this new rule and I'm trying I'm trying to think of an example I know of I know that at one point there were regulations that were issued about child care and they said we've decided now that for every child in a child care setting that you have to have so many square feet well that kind of makes sense that you can't just cram a bunch of kids in a room on the other hand I talked to some daycare operators who said yeah we have a very well built modern to current standards daycare and they come around and write this rule and it immediately cuts the number of kids because some bureaucrat decided there should only be 8 kids in a room this size instead of 10 and they say that seems in consequential but when we have to tell you know 4 or 5 families we can't take care of your kids anymore because we don't have the space and then we lose the money that they're paying us that means we have to charge more to everybody else who has their kid in that space the kids didn't really gain I guess again a few more square feet of space. But the families suffer the people who are pushed out of that suffer and. I bet a federal regulator would look at that and say oh yeah some minor change not a big deal is just a square footage requirement except that at the ground level where the rubber meets the road it actually has a real consequence for both the business and its costs and its customers doesn't write so agencies when they estimate costs of regulation they tend to focus on the measurable cost they look at what businesses spend comply with regulations but they don't they're not able to estimate the cost from the businesses that never start up at all or that never stand or for the you know the customers who would have been able at a more affordable price might have been a bit able to afford the child care center that now that there's an added burden. They can't afford the higher tuitions so those kinds of unseen costs that are very difficult to measure tend to be overlooked by agencies even though as far as I'm concerned to the average American out there those those those costs are significant and that's right I mean in the end that if you tell a business all it's only going to be a few $100.00 a year and the poor business owners saying yeah my margin is already stretched to the end and now you're telling me to raise the price on my customers which may scare customers away or or well or nothing you have to comply with the regs and it ends up putting people again somebody could estimate the cost of business is say this business makes no sense because it doesn't pencil out because there are 10 new regulations I have to comply with so I'll fold up shop and go out of business then there's less competition all the rest of it Professor brawl as a president should have you on the program thanks so much. Back to Lars Larson glad to be with you we've been doing daily updates on the latest developments in the impeachment jihad that Nancy Pelosi and a few of the House Democrats have been involved in they haven't had a vote yet or I should say they've had 2 votes on impeachment before this and both of them failed and now they don't want to call another vote I think because I don't think they have the votes on Capitol Hill so to talk about this and how the White House is refusing to comply with the impeachment inquiry until the House actually takes a vote Adam Kennedy joins me now who's deputy assistant to President Trump and deputy director of communications Adam welcome back. Thanks so much for having me I want to make this understandable to my audience because they see the president saying no I'm not going to cooperate but he's also saying I'll cooperate just take a vote and actually start a formal process the way I understand the Constitution I'm not a lawyer the Constitution says that impeachment is within the power of the House of Representatives the speaker of the house is mentioned in the Constitution as the 2nd line to the presidency for succession but it doesn't say the House speaker on her own say so can simply say we're we're impeaching the president she has to take a vote of the House of Representatives at least that's the way I understand it you have the wrong was done just a vote we really want to do process a fair hearing if this is the path they want to go down on a clear That is that what that means is the president for that certain rights like every other American that means be able to confront your accuser be able to show your witnesses being able to cross-examine witnesses big able to present your own evidence the fact is the House of Representatives like every other time in peace has been conducted hasn't given the president any of those rights that makes it not a formal proceeding but really a political farce Yeah and in fact the more we hear about the president's accusers still unnamed officially whistleblower one or leaker one as I call him and whistleblower leaker number 2 number one I'm now told appears to have some political connections to one of the presidential candidates on the Democratic side you know anything about that. You know I don't know who the list blower is or the details of that connection but we've certainly seen the reports and if true they're certainly troubling I mean that the fact that 1st of all you have a whistleblower who contacts a Democratic member of Congress before 1000 complaints and brings them this information that ever of Congress lies about it we're talking about Adam Schiff and I'm sure if they had even that you never had contact with the whistleblower turned out he did it even before the complaint was filed and now that this person if they contact with a presidential campaign I mean all of this really is raising serious questions and if the House of Representatives is having a fair hearing those questions would be raised as well and in fact when you say a fair hearing there is the comparison you've made to like a trial where you have the right to confront your accusers I've told my audience that in some ways impeachment and trial are comparable to indictment and trial in the in the on the criminal side so if you're indicted on a crime then you're charged but you're not guilty then it goes to a trial and trial decides to either find you guilty or find you're not guilty and that's the way the criminal side works in impeachment the House votes on articles of impeachment after considering them and giving them a hearing what you're saying if I'm not reading you're wrong is that the president wants the ones Nancy Pelosi the Democrats to say Ok We're going to have hearings on whether or not there should be articles of impeachment drawn out but we'd like to be able to hear from both sides would like to see the people who are accusing the president of these alleged misdeeds of quid pro quo with the president of Turkey and asking the president of Turkey to dig dirt on Joe Biden neither of which I saw in the transcript although it was in the original whistleblower complaint but the original whistleblower complaint seems to be completely contradicted by the transcript and now we have a 2nd so-called whistleblower we we also don't know the name of that person all we know is he claims he has direct knowledge of what the president said in the call but then since the announcement of the 2nd whistle blower. We haven't heard anything more about specifically what it is he claims to know so all of this is being kept from the American public and from the president and and if there aren't hearings then the public never gets a chance to hear those you know those allegations tested by having people from both sides ask questions that's what the president wants right absolutely So every time and past impeachment for the next what is Clinton in the House of Representatives there is always afforded the president's counsel the ability to present their case to be present during hearings to cross-examine witnesses They're already holding hearings they've already started the so-called inquiry or process but they're not affording the White House any opportunity to respond I think so again that's the sort of sham practice that we're pointing as here at this is the Democrats weaponized thing impeachment not just to do it as much as the president now overturn 2016 but interfere in 2020 we have an election about a year away and the Democrats are essentially saying we don't want that to happen with the slate of candidates going forward we're going to put our thumb of the scales will come on at him would you want to go forward with that slate of candidates I mean you know you've got a little bit of warning lies about getting fired because she's pregnant you've got Bernie Sanders he's got health problems God bless him but you know I don't wish him ill but I don't think he's going to be able to carry on a campaign you've got Joe Biden with his ties to Ukraine and China and the millions of dollars his son apparently made because of his connections as vice president if you had that Slate Would you want to go forward with that team well you know I can't get into I know much but what I will say is that the president's policies are certainly going to make it difficult for anybody to present a cogent argument against it so and now Joe Biden has come out and said he's in favor of impeachment and most of the media that have been reporting this don't point out his obvious dog in the fight he's one of the candidates. Oh it's completely it's it's out of this world that it is the state of politics that we're it where Democrats refuse to recognize election another putting forward the slate of candidate did you notice too that Hillary Clinton says that she could beat Donald Trump again she thinks she won the last election I'm not kidding she she actually said and I've got the sound by right here but she's she's well she's Here's exactly what she said she said this so maybe there doesn't need to be a rematch I mean obviously I can beat him again but I just I mean she's delusional she thinks she won the 2016 election and now she's running for reelection right it doesn't make it that I mean really again this is the Democrats refusing to accept the will of the American people and our election system time and time again Rhoda Maybe that's why they're so willing to weaponize patient process because at heart they're not really respect the seriousness of this country and by the way with the border you know the hearing it didn't happen with Ambassador Gordon's online who actually is from my neck of the words he's a hotel he from the Pacific Northwest he's a he's the guy who came all the way back from her to testify and State Department said you're not going to testify behind closed doors without a lawyer so that in going to happen the Democrats wanted him to show up without any legal counsel at all and then cast 5 behind closed doors and they say this is this is the case they're building against the president by having a closed door kangaroo court. It's such a clear example of the sort of unfair un-American process that they're running where they're going to try and especially railroad a witness not provide them counsel and keep it secret so they can leak out the best parts that benefit them to think that what we thought last week when we had another better go forward and that's exactly what they did this is a closed hearing and they leaked out confidential information from a closed hearing just to make their own side look good that is not a way you run this process that's underway any American success for us to run by the way on him when I saw the word and if you do strew that the inspector general Mr Atkinson has found that whistleblower number one or leaker number one who apparently according to New York Times works with the CIA but has a professional working relationship or had one until recently with one of the d.n.c. Candidates for president what in the world are CIA employees doing side work for political campaigns or is this the way we're going to run things now you can hire people out of the intelligence community to go out and do things in their free time because if you work at the CIA I know what your talents are it's spying so so we have perhaps one of the one of the many d.n.c. Candidates who's hired a spy from our own CIA to gather information that the Phanatic can use against the president who's serving right now the report certainly rates troubling questions and again that's the sort of thing that actual fair process would get to the bottom of what we what we have now is a process that will never answer the questions of the Democrats so when I ask them Adam thanks so much for coming on thanks so much for having you back that's a Jeopardy assistant president from Baton Kennedy deputy director of communications We'll be back in just a moment you're listening to the Lars Larson Show. Bars and show Welcome back to the Lars Larson Show it's a pleasure to be with you and I'll get your phone calls and e-mails shortly at 866-439-5277 you can remember that is 866 a large you can also e-mail talk at Lars Larssen dot com Check out our Twitter feed and also our Facebook page and on our website if you happen to miss part or all of an interview you can always pick it up there because we post almost all the interviews that we do one of the things I've covered over the years and I found a really disturbing phenomena and that is that there are people in this country who commit hate crimes I don't really like the term hate crime because I think all crime should be the same but if someone is attacked because of their race their religion their national origin their sexual orientation or whatever our society has said that is a special kind of crime that should be given special attention perhaps special investigation and carries instructional penalties as well but what's very disturbing is that we seem to have a huge number of hate crime fakes just the smell that is a good example of that because celebrity who was unhappy with this page. So he decided to go out and create a fake hate crime hoping to engender some sympathy and perhaps a bigger paycheck and now more recently the New York Post reports 12 year old Amare Allen appeared on television to show how she'd been brutalized by racist white boys she was black at Emmanuel Christian School in Springfield Virginia the 6th grader wept as she recalled how she was pinned down during recess had her arms pulled behind her back and had a hand placed over mouth so she couldn't scream she also said that the boys made racist comments well within a few days she admitted the whole thing was simply made up and I thought the perfect person to talk to about that is our friend Andy No the conservative journalist who himself has been the subject of a lot of very nasty commentary on social media and also physical attacks some of which have actually put his long term health at risk and you know joins me now and he thanks for taking the time but what what have you found about these fake hate crime hoaxes and the way that we respond to them both before they're found out and after they're found out and what do we do to get people to stop engaging in these kinds of hoaxes. But I found out about this phenomenon is based on the doubts about . Some academic research on hate crime of. Disproportionately concentrated in you know this campus that that shouldn't come as any surprise because if you go into any campus today you'll see that the ideology that is being being. Brainwashed to everyone is that the mall is some. What was fascinating about the case of 12 Mari Allen. A long list of younger and younger. Hate crime hoaxers and I think it mirrors the thing to start you know victimhood ideology seeping down through high school k. Through 12 education on Chile. And. The beginning of the piece you quoted from a column for The New York Post that. I've just outlined there's been many high profile cases of children making. Hate crime allegations and you know it's no surprise that children live in what seems to be different now is that they say that they are a victim of some type of a bias motivated attack and if they claim that the attackers are wise like. Everybody in the media particularly adults are all incredibly credulous and I mean there should have been huge red flag raised when the girl went on television to claim the story I mean it supposedly happened during recess at a school that is already high security because one side employers. Karen Hence the time the fact that there were no witnesses to back up this fairly horrific allegation like you know nobody bothered to follow up questions they just believe that and fortunately the police investigated and the family came out and admitted that it was all a lie well Andy one of the things I notice about that is that if you say what we should do is not to abuse ordered mistreat somebody who says they've been the victim of an assault but we should ask hard questions in that I get the sense that the minute you start to question a person of color a person from a sexual minority saying we need to believe your story but you need to convince us that it actually happened that you'll immediately be shouted down by people who say you're blaming the victim or you should take every one of these reports credibly how to how do we achieve the right balance of asking all the hard questions and getting people to have the courage to ask those even when I know that some of them are going to be criticized for subjecting a story like this to some real testing. What chance trading to me is I don't understand why some left wing activists conflate the. Investigation with the police I don't think they're necessarily the same thing you know is. Comes out with certain occupations I think part of believing they're asking them questions. Asking for evidence asking for details because it's quite insulting to victims I think to just take everything they say entirely face value I mean not fair to like that they are owed a proper investigation and with our comes question and it's unfortunate. You know this mantra believe women I believe. Seems to want to do away with the whole. The whole purpose of. Police investigations and all that I think in part because they probably recognize . A higher percentage than what they want to believe are highly polished or fabricated the final result of these. Posts. The public. Down to become more cynical and skeptical of hate current allegations and I think you're saying things were things that played out. What's frustrating about all this focus on hate crimes in America. When there are certain real hate crimes that happen but when they don't fit a particular nerds. Media coverage and United spent some time in New York City and there's been a rash of anti semitic hate crimes committed in certain Orthodox communities and many of these suspects to many have been a death spiral in charge and Clinton happens to be people of color nobody wants to talk about and.
