And nobody was throwing anywhere near 40 touchdowns back then and now a Holmes you know throwing for 50 and it might be a sub par year p. You know it's like Oster I can die seconds or something down other some real word for it. And they were like he's going to have 0 slaughter. It's like that but it's different and they he said Your son's going to have to have the surgery and it's going to be like a 3 to 4 month procedure and we're going to cut him open and all this stuff and then we were about a week away from me and I Ok so let's just cut him up and he said well why don't we just be sure and do a little bit of blood work real quick just to rule out any autoimmune things and then about 2 weeks later they said Oh it turns out it's Lyme nevermind Here's a man of Iyonix but the same doctor who initially said surgery said hold off or said our new doctor not different doctor. We were just about to have any surgery and we sent the like x. Rays and stuff you know again m.r.i. We sent them to the new doctor who looked at it was like at those kind of look like that why don't we just do a little. Little blood work rule things out you had asked Lee and you think they'd get the finest care and you've had lawsuits against teams Dick Butkus had a lawsuit against the Bears Bill Walton a lawsuit I think Trent Williams of the Redskins has a lawsuit going. You know they're down through history you've had players saying hey I got they put me back out there and I should have been out there and then you seek that 2nd opinion I don't know how that goes over with the team but I would absolutely seek a 2nd opinion when it comes to something like that yeah during the n.b.a. Finals we were all kind of surprised that Kevin Durant's medical team had a different opinion then the Warriors were like oh Kevin has his own guy that he's seeing. As his main person and they showed his doctor attending think Tom Brady has his own quiet Leonard remember he was seeing his doctor in New York yeah when Spurs weren't happy about it they want to an objective person who's not employed by the team whose agenda isn't what helps the team and I've heard from players before former players who said that they felt like the doctor was working with the team and not for them and had them out there and they should have been out there or push them to get out there or gave them something to get out there and most of the athletes said look you want to be out there and you do anything to get out there you just don't know like what am I risking here I had a couple incidents with. My to my kids where my daughter was very bowlegged when she was like 2 or 3 years old and the doctor says we recommend breaking her legs and resetting them and my wife goes I don't think that sounds right you know we're my husband's tall and I'm tall and we think she's going to grow out of this and so when we went and got a 2nd opinion and the doctor goes most she's fine chill just She'll grow out of it and her legs will be and she grew up out of it and then yellow and my son had a lazy eye and they said we want to perform surgery on on the lazy eye and then my wife goes surgery like can't you just patch the other one and maybe force the bad I get stronger like when you're giving advice to the doctor and it sounds like sound reasonable advice there and I'm guessing a doctor shows up and I don't want to do I don't want to put a blanket over the entire medical field but you know you want to have it you want your day to be a little exciting and if I said hey you want to do I surgery or want to put a patch on a kid and I got a girls ball a get here we can break them in and resettlement sounds pretty interesting but yeah those were 2 moments where you went wow. And then you feel bad as parents we could have let that happen to both of them yeah you guys were last summer I had that eye surgery on my bad left eye mostly to get the cool eyepatch but the doctor before the surgery said it's 5050 where this works or not and it didn't work at all it's find it make it worse but I'm going out I'm like oh I can't really be mad at him because he never told me it was going to be 100 percent Did you seek a 2nd opinion yes and my other doctor in my day to day I doctor said Yeah I think this is kind of a roll the dice will he said he said because there's no downside to it you're going to see worse but as I say there's maybe a 20 percent chance that this restores vision but I said I wouldn't be bad if I didn't do it the rest of my life would be like man I could've had this vision with both eyes but it didn't help at all you know sometimes I wonder if if you're a doctor right ultimately yeah your goal is to make people healthy I guess right or fix whatever is ailing them but don't you think just giving out antibiotics is kind of boring like with my son like well let's test for Lyme is why I'm married Here's your antibiotics it's all done instead it's like hey why don't we cut his knee open and see what we find in there maybe this little dot right here looks like it they this probably won't much more interesting work then like oh here here's a pill take that here's thanks for give me 1500 bucks now in Lyme is a big business. Treating her Lyme is is and I've been dealing with this for 7 years where you know we're going to test you for Lyme have you been tested for Lyme and I should wear a sun sign a t. Shirt I've been tested for Lyme before I go into these doctors but you know get it it's just treating Lyme or they'll put it under the umbrella of Lyme and it's it's a big business on treating it following up all these products that you give people you know I'm a clone but it's not conclusive right now the problem yeah I've had other friends who've been tested for lyme a 100 times I still don't know what's wrong with me with my condition they've told me but there's no guarantee that's what it is then somebody says of you've been tested for mold and I go what Yeah you might have molded Lam Alex sedentary have my way where he would have told you have affects of mold exposure I don't want to have mole I don't know but and then you know this doctor says yeah you know what we take out all these vials of your blood and then you know we put new blood in Yemen and we're going to get rid of that mold mold or the joke I typed I think that's a big thing you get mold in your house or your apartment yeah but I've been dealing with this for 7 years now so you're multiple So now. But now they just brought up mold and I went Wait what happened to lime and then this pm or then I've gone to that the diet you're on down now I got a diet I got you know this light chemo like come on how do you treat mold I don't have I don't know I haven't gone to see somebody about that you know when did you move into your house 21 years ago will it takes about. 15 years for mold to really take effect googling gestation period of more than my wife goes we get the house tested for mold and like. You just feel like you're chasing your tail and then you go what did I learn over the last 7 years yes pretty but even if you rule out more than you got to worry about mildew and something right around the corner that's another time if I get j.v. Just whatever he was I think you know he's adapting now to just not having to get his body in shape and you know he's still you know working through the ankle injuries he had at the end of last season he needed to get shots just to be able to play those last couple games so I think he's doing a lot of recovery and rehab work there playing with his kids he's got 3 awesome kids who are now you know starting to get that age where they're going to school and everything so I think right now he's playing Mr dad and you know he'll come in and you get up with the guys down to practice facility and you know like I told him you know we've got 2 things to do one work on the statue and you know that we're going to do and and 2 is just you know where else you want to do whenever you want to do it there's no rush isn't going to be that step back jumper where the legs kicked down is that the stench you probably but I'll let him decide I mean it's been fun to I've been touring around different places looking at statues and trying to get a feel for you know. And I'll shoot and you know there's always guys from the other team that will get to the court early and get shots up and I'll be out there shooting on one half and all the be on the other half and so will be able to yuk it up and every now and then I'll get shots up to the last guy did it with was ball bind and next thing you know he's a massive and so you know you never know what you learn and who you get to talk to but I remember one time Ray Allen came out and I'm out there shootin is like Ok you shoot some you want to shoot for money and I'm like no.
