They do the general commercials in the studio where they do the t.n.t. Like and he's just worked it all out and he just loves to work and is such a nice dude Reggie I got to because I was at that game the next game when Reggie lit up the next against spike you know Spike Law God Yeah an iconic they've done 30 for 30 years on yes and I was at that game and so mad at Spike Lee for getting there in a fan I was a Knicks fan growing up and it's I mean is anybody a Knicks fan now it's hard to be so hard to be a next fan right now yeah I've ended up now because after playing with. I replaying I did play in the game with Kyrie when I. Started following the Knicks Celtics a lot more closely this year by the way Kyra you know the world is flat and kind of doesn't sit right with me but other than out he's just kind of a unique dude yeah I found I found him to be really bright really smart not a no no on set no like attitude no ego I mean these guys were in make up every day for 23 hours and they never complained they were on time every day. I really enjoyed him and he's carries good in this movie he's like he's a good actor by the way through the years I've said this to people I told you this during the break football players are the most mature early because they know their of their game has some violence yeah arrears are going and so football players get drafted they buy a car they buy a house they buy their parents' houses they get married and yeah and then at like 32 they leaf whereas hockey guys are the big drinkers and Partiers very European very community and yeah they're on the tap dry basketball players are the funniest by far because 1st of all a lot of them grew up Ga key 68 and Gray Yeah they've been teased girls wouldn't pay attention to him I Chris Webber you work with yeah Chris Webber is funny so funny in this way he plays preacher what we're all is that he's like a he's like a southern like Southern Baptist preacher character. And but he's super funny in the movie that was a real revelation but for me all being without like all of those guys like you know I grew up playing basketball right when the Fab 5 were blown up and that's and you know to be with Chris and he's so funny and Lisa Leslie is the is in the movie as well and she was kind of the mom for everybody and she's. I mean one she's was watching her play watching all those get on the court and they all got competitive like that doesn't shut off you know like you're messing around you're choosing a movie but as soon as we started playing like Lisa was like I'm a score like she and she heated up she started hitting for God Yeah and then like Reggie started missing threes and and I just was because I'm the bad guy I'm on the bench and I'm like it was a lifelong dream me to be the white guy in an all black movie and so I got to just be yapping away at all those guys and specifically Reggie just like wouldn't really and then he and then he got hot and I was like oh this is what Yeah we felt like that's what. Yeah but when you graduated Georgetown What do you major in when you're a comedian I majored in history I minored in the least funny thing in the war I know I know it was not I was not it was not but I started doing improv there I started doing comedy there and met John Laney and a bunch of other really funny people who are still working in a way it was like for me it was that was the thing I got most out of school was the training for it it was like. You know it's no different than you know playing for Kentucky. You know what it is interesting because there is something to be I'm from Norman Donald I grew up my my favorite 2 comedians growing up were Garry Shandling r. I mean yes oh my God I mean that was one of the days. Anthony Bourdain and Gary Shandling passed away and I was sick yeah days huge bummer both of them and Norman Donald Who's the crazy he I don't even know how his head works how did comedian see nor McDonald Oh he's kind of he's one of those you know they there is that phrase of like a comedian's comedian and I would say Norm is up there is a guy who just he's kind of thinking on a different plateau level and and I think people love him and because some of his stuff is so dry that you're like I think some of it might go through some audiences or it's something or it's super mean but he was a guy who I loved I mean when I started doing comedy he was at s n l And he was doing weekend I mean he was doing Weekend Update during all the o.j. So good God it was controversial Yeah Donal Meyer I think he did it yeah they got I think my heart and fired him for it but for us like for me he's one of those guys who's just deeply funny and so specific do you buy this thing that comedians are all sad Seinfeld doesn't seem sad to me you know doesn't seem sad Well when you have your own building filled with vintage cars. In New York it's might be harder to be. No I don't know are we all kind of sad all the time no kidding we should get and do on the show no kidding the underlying on we have existence Yeah yeah I mean I think like I mean I don't think I mean I think it really depends on the person it's like I think it's you know I think the truth is there is a certain perspective that you can have on things if you're comedian that can be a little dark at times yeah but you know look I've you know I've hung out with waiters and valet attendants and billionaires and everybody can figure out a way to be said No kidding you know never know is that one though that's the message I should leave here and by the way Facebook's made everybody miserable that is the problem I do think social media it's like you wake up to like you wake up to like I feel inferior Yes feeling in fear and just being I go wonderful the detention centers and gas attacks. To Lionsgate great they do a lot of good stuff they do they it's honestly and so I think this is what I will say to pivot. It is this movie for me was like it was so fun to make for me it was a dream to be in a movie with M.B.A.'s I got to play defense against Kyrie Ok tell it let's talk want to show some tape yeah now how tall are you Nic I'm I would say you know somewhere between 59510 and you have twitch muscles are you an athlete I was I mean when I was they were like you're going to play in the game and I was like All right well you know look I don't know if I could make it in the n.b.a. But I was pretty good on my my Jewish day school basketball team Yeah in middle school and so I got out there on the court and played I went out for a lay up and Kerry tried to block it and he missed it oh yeah and so I was like I had a feeling you know I mean I was like I know I ended up in comedy but like you know Road Less Traveled could gone either way and so the number of cocky and I'm like That's right Kyra you know I'm in character I'm like I start kind of going at him and I was like I want to d.m. Up so I decide I'm wearing rings and I slap the ground to get lonely in France and I'm wearing rings and I'm going to miss. Anything and then I got low to play d. Against Kyrie. And I guess I don't want to ruin the movie but he did manage to get past me yeah. But I didn't fall down the Internet I mean I take that as a victory I would say this as somebody who's a performer even in all that make up it's kind of remarkable how great great basketball players are it's unbelievably hard to explain to the public yet that I'll tell you know. You don't even know who Gus Williams was he went to u.s.c. He was a Seattle Sonics back in the seventy's sure so I was a young kid watching t.v. And watching the local news k.o.l.o. In Seattle and Harry Sloan as a sportscaster and the Sonics were really good and Gus Williams was her best player you know and I watched all the games. And I'm in I always thought you know kind of athletic quarterback high school I was in the minute I knew oh I'm just common Harry Sloan is the late Harry Sloan is doing a report and it's at Sonic practice there behind him and Gus Williams comes in a frame not knowing is on t.v. As he's doing what they call a stand up via the balls on the floor Gus's 61. He grabs the ball effortlessly and is a 360 dunks it in practice and I'm like What. What was that yeah like when you go to a practice and guys are screwing around and they're not afraid of missing it dunk you know try stuff with you at Rucker Park or stuff Kyrie within 2 seconds by did something it's crazy so he I mean he I mean he worked to me he worked to me and it was it was but for me it was like a lifelong dream that I got to get work by the guy with the best handle on the game best finisher in the game it's on and watching him that's the thing is you watch him finish and like the he's doing he puts crazy spins on is like lay ups you know because he's he's taking crazy angles towards the hoop and going to high off the back board and and it was amazing to watch then like watch Lisa Leslie and watch these other guys watching him and him watching him give them tips about how he was doing stuff because he's doing stuff that they that they weren't doing when they were playing it's Picasso and Monet's like wow that's interesting it's fast it was fascinating and they're really like it was after the trade and they were all sort of talking to him about what you know how do you go to a new team how do you take that team over like in an interesting way they were all kind of it was a really it was a it was like for me to be able to just have a small little moment of a view into what it was like a Nate Nate Robinson is also the mohel who so funny to me barely says anything in the movie and kills and watching him play it got to Kevin Hart quality 2 years I mean he's tiny He's maybe 510 maybe all I think 58 now yeah and he can he dunked over Shaq not like dunk on check he dunked over Shaq like Shaq was standing below the rim and he didn't know it was happening and and Nate Robinson just jumped and dunked over him it was but man is and they was I think Nate's trying to get back in the league and watching them help him he went off to 22 to go have a workout with a couple teams and.
