Same wavelength that I mentioned I said there because there are so many factors that can disrupt the sleep architecture and I mention stress right out of the box stress is bad food too much alcohol drugs illness it won it and we evolved to sleep it's essential for us to sleep it's part of our evolution and we naturally selected to sleep and to sleep for a certain number of took hours not too much Goldilocks role not too much not too little. You know somewhere between they say 7 and 8 hours more than that not a good idea less than that not a good idea generally speaking what are your recommendations about that. I thought that general rule well. That's what I think we recommended at least you know 78 hours of restored please however I mean. You know the vigil that they say you've gone on a trip and you've been traveling you know for a day or day and a half and then your need for sleep may be more late so I know often lot of people will come home and jet lagged or they might have that 1st night of sleep they sleep for 10 or 11 hours straight because they haven't slept because they've been on a plane there have been traveling so that there are different than exception to that rule but generally speaking 7 Kate hours that when people feel they're fast and they feel that they've had you know that that's the story of the based on the 78 hours. But I like it I would probably say I mean close to 75 percent of my patients have a disturbance that it gives me huge nowadays so. Do you are you of the mind that people can catch up on their sleep or once lost forever lost Well that's a good question there is some debate about that. If you could explain here's where I'm headed when you use the term restorative restorative sleep it's not just to sleep but you need restorative sleep so that the body can reset itself immune system can repair you know get caught up on business. And rejuvenating itself I mean a lot of things go on while we sleep and hence the word restorative. Once that's lost I mean. There is a back and forth on this some people try to catch up over the weekends over the weekend I'll try to you know sleep 2 hours more on Saturday and Sunday. Because they lost a couple of hours every night during the during the week it's hard to catch up I'm not so sure you can catch up in that sense. I think it depends on how long the sleep I've been disturbed for I mean I get patients that come in that have had this terrible sleep for 10 plus years and oh and you know and you can see what at the end there how you know they're there metabolic rate is you know at a standstill they don't have the energy to exercise they don't eat well they could just become this vicious cycle or that they're overweight. And that although it can affect your mood because they're tired that they get into depression or they get me so. I think you've heard that the longer that you had to start definitely it's going to affect your body more so but I think that that when you do correct it I think the body is such an amazing thing that it can you can start getting like start getting restorative sleep even if it's been 10 years Ok I mean I'm still going to help your body. I don't know how you feel about this but. I think that. A lot of interpersonal relationships. Goes south we come back I'll put that all together to top of the hour.
