Is that. Well. The revolution. We'll take. You on this. Is information. For America. For our final round up and information overload. What you put in place to protect every woman regardless of her zip code it's right to have an abortion thank you so I believe that the right of a woman to make her own decisions about her reproductive health and about her body is a national right I believe it's an American freedom and I believe that should be enjoyed by. Do you believe at any point in pregnancy whether it's a 6 weeks or 8 weeks or $24.00 weeks or whatever that there should be any limit on a woman's right to have an abortion and I think the dialogue has got so caught up on where you draw the line. That we've gotten away from the fundamental question of who gets to draw the line and I trust women to draw the line when I've. Got to be clear you're saying that he would be Ok with a woman well into the 3rd trimester deciding to abort her pregnancy these hypotheticals are usually set up in order to provoke a strong emotional and fertile right so not hypothetical there $6000.00 women a year who get abortions in the 3rd it's right representing less than one percent of cases I know a lot of such sites are stocked and I do is round up and information overload hour on the Sean Hannity show look the look the the 2020 candidates are coming out as hard left as they possibly can new Green Deal which we have discussed exhaustedly what nobody seems to ever focus on is Ok Well we had the Obama Biden economy we had the Obama Biden you know dump of $150000000000.00 in cash and other currency on the on the tarmac for mullahs of Iran and now we now we have a record to compare it to and one of the things that has been so standout in this Trump recovery which they didn't have the recovery in the 8 years of Biden Obama was the worst recovery since the forty's lowest labor participation rate that we've had since the seventy's you know all the statistics I gave out $13000000.00 more Americans on food stamps that's a lot of people $8000000.00 more in poverty and but the record of Trump when you compare and contrast and that's what every election kind of should be about a choice that people make to competing visions for the future of the country you see record low unemployment for African-Americans Hispanic Americans Asian Americans women in the workplace and youth unemployment and everything else is every other economic record has been shattered now unemployment at 3.6 percent. Now the president getting trade deals done with countries we didn't think we'd ever get done China's not done yet by the time I think these negotiations are over China will will capitulate you know the 500000000000 dollar trade deficit that favors them of course they're going to be resistant but if Donald Trump didn't show to show them that he's serious that he gets to that point well how will we always breakdown in politics along and it's not identity politics Ok but you break down age you break down are you African-American a white American Asian American Latino American and John McLaughlin the pollster founder of McLaughlin associates and John Jordan a Republican strategist an attorney they have a brand new poll out and that they're releasing right here on the show exclusively that uncovers just how much of the minority base is being untapped by the Republican Party in other words now that policies are in place that are giving people more hope more opportunity than they ever got in the Obama Biden years will will this translate to votes for the Republicans and for example Hispanic Americans they just did an entire study as it relates to this so many of spandex have the same values of conservative but they feel they're not being heard in the polls shows us how valuable that pocket of voters truly is in this coming 2020 election season John and John welcome both of you to the program I have the study here in front of me I think it's pretty phenomenal instead of me going over John McLaughlin want to you lay out what you found on I think I think George would tell you why he sponsored this project and it was done with opinions Latinos but it was a very in terms of the survey I just lean up a little bit 38 percent of the univers were done in Spanish 85 percent as we speak some Spanish and 50 some. Since speak about equal amounts of English and Spanish. And it's by the way it's a heavily Democratic poll to and over half the voters are Democrats and only 18 percent were Republicans so so John did the study and what the amazing thing is on policy Day agree with Donald Trump on a lot of issues and I know from being in the last campaign that Donald Trump got 29 percent of the Hispanic vote Clinton only got 65 percent we didn't it 8 points better than Mitt Romney and here it is Trump's poised to really raise that number so let me punch it John Jordan on that one John Well what we wanted what I wanted to do here was challenge certain assumptions you know so much is said in the mainstream media about Latino voters and the rising Democratic electorate that's going to swamp conservatism and to destroy the Republican Party I'm an economist by trade and lawyer and in economics you study change as much as anything else so we really Sean really want to examine these questions objective Lee not as a campaign poll not as a political to the media poll per se but to really dive deep into the all of these numbers these attitudes and how they relate to each other and to have a more granular deeper understanding of where the president stands and where his strengths weaknesses and opportunities are and the results were just astounding the quality of polling in the past has been problematic right before the election a Latino as a disses this is the Honestly Tina's did a survey which showed trump an 18 percent of cobs he got in the very very high twenty's Obama got 6 that got 2371 percent Clinton got 65 if President Trump can cross 32 percent the math on this it becomes catastrophic for the Democrats going into the next election it puts away Florida North Carolina Georgia Arizona and it really very much puts in play Nevada and Colorado so the. Pathways get narrow if they're if President Trump can grow by just 5 or 6 points you know maybe one of the reasons last week that Joe Biden came out with an ad a Spanish speaking ad I happen to know well because I was attacked in that ad. Is that mean maybe they figured out what your study here found. They probably have done some surveys like this right now the Democrats are in primary mode so they're looking at Democrat voters they're probably not looking at the swing voters or the larger voter universe but I would bet you're absolutely right Sean is a really good point I think of that that they probably are stumbling across or at least got a whiff of some of the problems that they have in their coalition So what do you see is the weaknesses by the president that we've the problem the president has you got to think about this from their point of view the Latino point of view I'm a Spanish speaker I live in California these people on Spanish speaking media it was one of you see on for example the president is being trashed daily there are no or almost no real advocates for him in the Spanish speaking media world so his brand has been tarnished not necessarily by anything he's done but by how he has been characterized personally in our survey we found that 41 percent of Latinos 41 percent approve of his policies but only half of that would really think highly of him personally so there's room to grow if he can just get half of that that would really up and the Democrats in a lot of these states but if the problem is the the challenge the president has is the perceptions of him not his policies. Let's go over the survey and the methodology give us the 5 biggest findings you pound. Well a lot of them is seem to be in constant contradictory 46 percent of Latinos say the economy is headed in the correct in the right direction 52 percent give or. President Trump credit Well 38 percent give Obama credit here's a shocker 59 percent prefer free market capitalism to big government socialism that's a 39 point swing. 65 percent support tougher enforcement of the border to keep on documented immigrants coming out however 71 percent agree this what seems to be in conflict support legalization or a path to citizenship for all you know illegal immigrants already here so there's seemingly some tension between some of these things but I think it can be best understood if you look at it like a lot of the Tino's here by family by community by connections want to support their friends and families here and don't want them thrown out but understand intellectually that this can't continue Well John McLaughlin I guess you lost your per 2nd but welcome back I'm looking at these numbers right right direction wrong direction $4643.00 Trump That's right you know and compare that they credit Donald Trump and not Obama 50 to 38 percent that's not good for Biden and the hurry market capitalism bindings that John Jordan just talked about you know it's a big number 59 to 20 percent prefer you know who prefer big government socialism 59 percent prefer capitalism in 7771 percent support legal status for undocumented immigrants the majority 50 percent agree that it's unfair to allow undocumented undocumented immigrants to jump the line I mean so you know now let's talk about the opportunity side of what you found here. There's a lot of by the way on the policy side plus it's a pro-life sample this $52.00 to $40.00 pro-life pro-choice and they opposed laws allowing late term abortion $61.00 to $28.00 so it's not just on immigration but on a lot of cultural issues the Hispanic vote is not it's not a monolithic Democratic vote the way they want us to believe this and they actually agree with the president and a lot of Republicans on policies where even like you verify 2 thirds support or you verify these are you know these are legal citizens registered to vote likely to vote they you know they have strong issue Appeals where they they like the fact that the Republicans or the President share their issues there's a potential upside here for November 2020 and that generally freaks out a lot of Democrats with the let me go back to my original premise agism the economy is light years better under Republican and Trump policies I mean at one point you know if you're at. Go through the Obama Biden years what do you have disproportionately negatively impacted the minority communities in America those that are benefiting the most in spite of the propaganda we're seeing the largest wage increases biggest lifestyle changes more opportunities provided them I mean when you lose a couple of 1000000 people on food stamps and and in poverty that means opportunity has come and we now have 1700000 more jobs available than we have people on unemployment where it's 3.6 percent unemployment we're getting to the point of full employment in the country which means opportunity people now pick and choose where they want to work the benefits the pay it just becomes you know for them a buyer's market. Exactly absolutely absolutely Sean you know we're starting to see wages I mean just here in California and my other company you have we're having to compete for workers up and down the pay scale that well I mean the you know that's the point and you know maybe what the president outlined with his immigration plan last week how does that of telling to all of those you know merit based immigration Well I tell you it's going to be interesting to see how that plays out we did not we were not able to examine merit based immigration in this survey but I would imagine that it would pull very high I would imagine that you know people there is a fundamental sense of fairness and you know we care about what's best for us in this country on the Latino side so I think that that would end up pulling very very well John what do you want to add to that and then their top issues the leading issues are health care 23 percent economy 21 percent education 20 percent immigration reform 17 percent again these these voters have been here for years and they also they have the same concerns as everybody else I mean they're worried about their jobs their health care their education their incomes immigration reform I quick break more with this blockbuster new poll that is out John McLaughlin McLaughlin associates and Dawn Jordan Republican strategist and attorney and we'll come back on the other side your calls coming up at the bottom of the half hour with an amazing Hannity tonight 9 Eastern on Fox Listen did you know nearly 60000000 Americans 60000000 have been impacted in affected by identity theft and nearly 14500000000 were stolen from identity theft victims in 2018 alone you know the cyber criminals they used to fist Ikeda tactics to steal your personal information they freeze your credit card they may say you know freezing it but you make stop them from opening other accounts in your name but it can protect you from other types of identity theft you can. Aren't as we continue with John McLaughlin John Jordan this new major poll and findings they put together about Hispanic Americans and voting patterns that we might begin to see trends going in if Biden gets it does he give held accountable or the Obama Biden economy does he get held accountable the Russia stuff that happened on their watch is he get held accountable for given the mullahs in Iran 150000000000 people going to look at the economy under those 2 and say no it's much better now I'm voting for this guy. I don't know that foreign policy is is of particular importance certainly not a question that we examined the one kind of 10 general exception rubs up against some of the cultural issues you start you see in our survey some of the public safety concerns and that obviously is related to immigration that a lot of the m s 13 and the crime in the drugs when they come across the border they have affected overwhelmingly Latino neighborhoods and we see that in our survey of 46 percent oppose an ink support ending catch and release a plurality more than a strong plurality support continuing ice and not abolishing it so you see a tension point between the real life public safety can spread and butter concerns of Latino voters that are completely at odds with what you see on Rachel Maddow our the mainstream media the New York Times or the well you know the white coastal liberal positions on a lot of these issues it's very different when you have to live it and these numbers bear that out yeah well I mean I think that that's the main crux of it I'm I think people vote their pocketbooks economy stupid peace and prosperity and I think of them right now the president is you know light years ahead of what Biden Obama gave us that has to be factored in thank you both John McLaughlin John Jordan great work 809 for one Sean toll free telephone number you want to be a part of this program your calls coming up in the final half hour next we'll continue. She stood by it that was the problem didn't say the day after Anyway she wrote in a tweet published on Mother's Day. She did say this I'll wait for the retraction in about 6 months she said about the g.o.p. They don't care about babies they they want a hell on earth and a Christian theocracy Who is she talking about nobody what this what is she talking about they don't care at all about babies especially brown black or poor ones if they did they'd co-sponsor the new Green Deal. So a buddy of mine is in the studio here no you don't get away that quickly so I gave my radio career I never thought I'd be this blessed in my television career I never thought all these crazy wonderful things would happen to me I never have taken for granted the audience you make it possible if you're not listen and watch and then you're only going to be having one choice conspiracy t.v. Lies and hoaxes thrown at you from every other media outlet and we do pride ourselves in and being right more than they are a couple of people very instrumental in my career one was when I got my 1st paid job in Huntsville Alabama and was a small market and I had a much thicker New York accent than I do now and man handyman welcome to Huntsville but you talk funny it was a little bit of a culture shock I became. Well sort of well known as who says crazy shock shock from New York hang up on people which I used to do a little more of at the time and then I had an opportunity got a call after 2 years in Huntsville from w g s t in Atlanta and a guy that has since become a dear friend Neal Boortz was leaving w. G.s.t. The ex-wife and moving through the ever so powerful number one station in town which is ws big which we happen to be on his wealth now at this point anyway the guy that hired me is in studio with us I've had a remarkable thing happen in my life I've stayed friends with every boss I've ever had in media and the same would you know Roger Ailes I got along famously because I always felt they took a chance on me and Sluggo you if you're in the big city how are you I am well I'm well it's good to see you here I never would have imagined what oh yeah you never with this should not happen. We have some fun stories because we had a couple of moments after my 1st year on g.s.t. The numbers were great Poland really strong numbers on the show then Boortz makes the announcement I'm listening driving to going to my 1st vacation and he goes Sean Hannity I know you're listening I'm like How the hell does he know I'm listening and your phones about to ring he goes and it's going to be slow telling you to get your ass back to from vacation. And then he said because he had gone when he moved his time slot on the oh my station now he went up against Rush right noon to 3 right and said he was a morning guy he didn't like doing that was hours I'm coming back Monday morning and I'm taking my whole audience back with me I called you I say I'm coming back and you would not let me. Now I want to thank you for your vacation that was dumb you said to let me cut a guy wants to come back and work and fight for years audiences shouldn't let me come back I was concerned about you but I don't know how you are going to obsess about it on vacation so I would hope you think that was a great vacation and hope that you would not that you would really you know where you can enjoy your show yeah I just sat in the sun like i always there when I go to the beach I sit in the sun for hours Trink in beer I can't stay 5 minutes in the sun but we had some great times you did have to. My 1st year this was a big market and after a year you did it perceptual study on the station correct and one day you called me in the audience and the message was clear people like what you're saying they agree with your politics they'd like you personally but they think you're too harsh because I had grown up listening to New York and Boston talk radio cutthroat radio here in New York a I get up my follow you creep you know or go gargle with razor blades on a told you you're in the Deep South you know to be a little mellow or you know but I get down just a little and but it took the research you know he didn't say it and he didn't say it exactly like that is much why I remember sitting in your office and you were telling me this I said you lost confidence in me I remember I said those very words to you in Nancy's impact and I but I had not lost confidence. You know you research you want to get to the research you have a good sense yes all right so I knew you did a research project and I said Ok can I read it and you said no correct we got you down to a misdemeanor after breaking into the promotion director's office one riding on a and getting the research into you known reading it and you saw that little excerpt where it said you might consider replacing Sean Hannity might need to reconsider I remember the exact verbiage I will call Joe lending get a copy of it and if that didn't scare me that's not what impacted me the most at the end of a what they do is they will sample the audience of your station and they have what they call verbatim at the end of the study the exact words of listeners they say it was universal and I saw wow i thought i was doing it the right way I'm not and that changed me my audience changed me for the most part you were you were doing it the right way and there was no intention to ever even consider that recommendation Oh and you know you signed me to a 3 year extension it just it just didn't make any sense but you you saw when you look I've made so many changes on that station over a period of time and it's a very intimate audience you know what happens in talk radio you make a small change they notice and they come out of the woodwork at you when I put Rush Limbaugh on that radio so you took a lot of help oh wow and but he became beloved Just like you know you're right there is a certain period of time where you've got to and I always thought I always thought Neil was one of the top posts and going up against him was great for me because of you know the story I was drivin into work one day and it was 6 15 in the morning Boortz is on he he went on it 845 to get a 15 minute jump on me so I guess they viewed me as a threat he would give away at 6 15 am his entire show and then Eric staggers is in the next room with me all these years and we would say Ok How are we going to do it better than him and. We didn't do gas at all these people lose we haven't booked in on the year before he talked about it with there's one particular guest that really peeled of remember that yes I do it well that story that was after Robert Shapiro who was part of the dream team in the o.j. Simpson case comes to town and anyway I did Boortz is announcing he's going to be on my show it 10 o'clock this morning promoting it promoting it and I get Stanger Steyer goes well he was just on 99 x. And let me call over and see if I can get him that we knew was on Boortz at hand we got him at 9 at 9 and then towards the end of the interview I said you know this is one of the best interviews I've ever done would you mind staying a little longer you know maybe another half hour. We kept 45 more minutes and the backstory is he goes over aborts the show points out the parking lot and says get the butt bleep that he leaped out of here because he didn't do it but on my show the whole time both your yes that's great radio wars Listen I was competitive I learned. Competitive so we knew when I 1st heard your tape and you were still in Huntsville this is right in our wheel house this young man is right in our wheel house I am and there are a diamond in the Rye and that's right I was quoted as saying that and one day you will be refined a real diamond. But we knew we knew very well what we were getting and it was just him and look when you find somebody like you that the passion you had then and the and if anything your passions more intense today than it was then there was no question here's the interesting relationship though that I have with you to this day if I'm doing something on radio you don't like. You call me in the middle of the show like you did I'm like I love you Sluggo you're killing me I text you. Something my text doesn't work. But I know you do it what do you remember the I remember one of the hardest things is when I got the offer of Fox because I had been flying up pretty regularly you know that I was doing c.n.n. a Lot because they were in Atlanta and then see n.b.c. On the weekends a couple of those shows that's where I'm Roger right and he said to me the 1st time I don't sign another contract to you talk to me and that's when he was preparing for Fox News and. You came to my home I went to your home September of 96 and I was leaving it up top my contract was up in like December actually probably October maybe it was December right Ok You know I'm older than you I forget things Ok. And you were sweating but I didn't want to I don't know I was looking forward to Sam leaving sat down in my living room and you were told me what was going on and I said Sean you're under contract to me but you've got to go do this it was you gave me and by the way other people within the company were not as gracious as you you know but nobody knew what Fox would become Sluggo right we had no idea you know but it was for you was coming home and there was also going to be radio on your plate radio was was in the cards board New York at the same time which I liked a lot and but you know you've been very instrumental honestly there are there are key people at key moments in my career that helped me get better and I don't think I told you till after I left that I had read the whole perceptual you know you told me you were broken into the office. I told you after yes after I left right statute of limitations that passed by the night but there was another study follow up he did the year later I believe maybe was 2 years later and it changed perceptions it showed dramatic improvement and ever since then I get the man to read research on myself I used to get the readings before I didn't know you drove me nuts because I thought I would go in when they were good and I'd hide when they were bath and the air checks that I had on your show they seemed to disappear Well there were days that you want me to talk about politics as much as I did which was while I loved I mean I think of so all the memories of Atlanta on the mc the night Newt Gingrich become speaker. I got to meet Maynard Jackson the Atlanta mayor at the time welcomed me to his city on day one when I was on that station I got to know Joseph Lowery love Hosea Williams you know crazy Tom Houck right love the guy and all these personalities but also the Youngs the real people that had the most courage. At a time John Lewis got hit with a brick you know and they marched with Dr King and it was such a big enriching experience for me because I got to know these guys and had a good I thought a good relationship where you had history at your fingertips and the guys still living still are you know and you had access to that and you took advantage of it they were wonderful people for the most I mean Joe Lowery and I would have these fights but we like each other and I thought I knew how brave he was those people that went in those marches throwing up against fire hoses and rocks and and dogs animals you know that are just not even human beings on the other side was terrible and they did it fearlessly and I learned that lesson and I've all of them still do to this day any other so I turn out all right and you're doing Ok. I look but you didn't pay me your well only because I didn't want you to get spoiled. And here in New York visiting you and some other friends and some relatives and I think it's hard for me to describe the pride I feel in what you've become what you're doing and the fact that we are close friends you you you to day you know a very small group of people and radio still voice right most Sherry just the I don't I'm going to miss names now it's all going to stop but Bill Donovan if it wasn't for you I don't I'm not here you all made me better and gave me opportunity so I can't think you know when you're a dear friend of love you dearly and you know you have to pay for dinner right so recent Gallup survey shows Americans worry more about burglary than any other crime or the mugging more than terrorism more than car theft even murder and according to studies just over 10 percent of these break ins are planned beforehand and the rest frankly just spur of the moment they see an opportunity they see you don't have an alarm system. In other words random and according to the f.b.i. The average loss in a burglary is now over 2 grand Well that's real money for real people and hard to recover from now there are over 2000000 burglaries every single year that are reported that's one in 30 every 13 seconds and what's crazy is only one in 5 homes have home security I guess because the home security business has been destroyed by companies that you know what I have done right by their customers that's where simply safe comes in you don't pay for installation you don't pay or you don't sign long term contracts there's no hidden fees you can install it in 30 minutes by yourself and it's the latest greatest best technology ever made and anyway it's really just works that's my personal experience the safe Ellison just for you my listeners simply safe has a huge deal going on right now go to simply save Hannity dot com You get a free security camera when you order a 100 dollar value and your home protected 247365 you get the free camera just do it today go to simply save Hannity dot com to protect your home and your family.
