You're listening to the Memorial Day edition of the best of the market open. Courtroom every other week or here have you because as you. Well you learn some from Al Green every day hello America Mark Levin are not giving you the number we're not taking phone calls I'm in Israel as you know so Al Green says on m.s.n. B.c. Secondary tertiary and core to every So my question to you is this and I'll play the clip in the 3rd hour is there such a word as quarter every I'm just asking about the manifestations and verbalizations of secondary tertiary in court to Mark what are you talking about wait till our 3 you know exactly what I'm talking about. You know we have wonderful Torah guide today and one of toward today Eli p.p. . And he's a wonderful guys looking across at me now who here we are c.b.s. Studios in Jerusalem. And Eli you lived most of your life in America right I lived 37 years in America and you're how old 44 Well you know look at they over 43. You with the yes shift Council what's the Esha Council the Yes You counsel is. Umbrella governing organization of all of the 25 Jewish Israeli mayors in Judean scenario Ok Which begs the question you know what is due to intermarriage we're going to get to that and that's a darn good question that people called the West Bank in occupied territory and on and on and on you also with the Jewish communities of today and Samir Ok And then there's 2525 different mayors Now when we say 25 different measures they're mayors of what So we have 4 cities 6 counties and 15 smaller municipalities municipal altogether it's about Fortune 50000 people so for almost half a 1000000 people living in what some people call the West Bank her acute day and some area indeed. Why do people like you and me insist on calling it Tree Day and summarily and not the West Bank great question the tragedy in some area people talk about as being a biblical term but the reality is even the United Nations use the term Judea in some area until the early 1950 s. Why did that change in the 1950 s. Well. Right now in Israel we're celebrating Jerusalem Day which is the liberation of Jerusalem. What's that all about well in 1947 going back a little bit in history Israel was the club it declared it that it became a state immediately upon declaring its independence 5 or 6 Arab countries start attacking Israel. When I was all said and done in 1909 set of assert that Arabs surrendering there was a cease fire when that cease fire happened Israel controlled a certain amount of land the rest of the land and what we call Israel was occupied by Jordan and Jordan as you noticed by its name is bordered by the Jordan River. That area of Israel that Jordan had occupied they started calling it the West Bank to differentiate it from the primary part of Jordan which is on the eastern bank of the Jordan River that's the term the West Bank it is a very clear political terminology that was. Created by Jordan who illegally occupied this territory after a tried after it and a bunch of other Arab countries tried to destroy Israel. So the point it's always been dancin Mariya but they use this phrase West Bank. Really last many decades it's all you know the last century it's exactly spin 57 years 57 years and so now everybody talks about the West Bank they don't even do that they talk about occupied territories or. The 67 war 50 years ago the 6 day war the Israelis retake their land correct including the capital Roussillon So how are these borders drawn and are these permanent borders and who who draws these borders to and as you say really the Israelis could have wiped out all 5 of these Arab countries once they got right you know they they were attacked. And they and they go on the off chance and they push back in every direction and you're right rather than surrender rather than saying Ok these are their borders. What do we mean by by our most Army test armistice armistice borders it's interesting because it's a great point that you're making after every single war Israel emerges victorious how do we know because if Israel is not victorious they're destroyed there is no other alternative and every single war as Israel is victorious the international community puts a tremendous amount of pressure for there to be instead of the Arabs surrendering we have this cease fire lines armistice lines and the 149 Israel's war for independence those cease fire lines the Arabs couldn't fathom that there ever would be a state of Israel and they didn't accept it even though they were realized they weren't able militarily to be successful at that time and they made it clear in the Armistice treaty that the cease fire lines had absolutely no political or border significance that these were literally military. Lines that were not going to be crossed until the next round of fighting was going to take place and it's funny because nowadays this is the exact lines that the international community before and Secretary Kerry was pushing that should be formal borders and Arabs for many years the Arab League has put together an entire peace plan that is based on than $949.00 Armistice lines which when the Arabs initially wrote those agreements made it very clear that they're going to have absolutely no kind of teachings of political about or boundaries. So these 5 Arab countries attack and they lose and they say Ok well let's pretend we didn't attack the let's go back to pre-one 9657 borders give us Jerusalem give us today and Samarium give us the go give us the go and give us all these areas back we lost but too bad you know and that's exactly been the problem that there's never been a consequence there's been no accountability if you have a situation where there can be a war and one side can attack another side that side can lose and their consequences will just go back to start start again there's no negative it's going to continue happening you wonder why this conflict goes on for so long is because every time the Arabs lose the world protects them and they don't have to pay the consequence that needs to change. We hear this term settlement. All the time and we even hear American presidents even Republican presidents stop building the settlements What's a settlement. Settlement that you saw today is really a suburb a community a town. It doesn't look very different than many towns in America or in Europe in Arizona like Arizona Yeah Arizona or certainly the South was a little bit hot today. And I moved to Israel from Seattle and it does not look anything like the lush green this that we had in the Evergreen State. But settlements international community considers it not tempered and not permanent or temporary and that's the problem that we have the term settlements is that any community every neighborhood that is built in areas that Jordan had to legally occupied from 199967 if the Jews move in there it's considered a settlement by many in the international community. So we're talking about these communities that are in today and some area correct. And what we have are the Western countries including the United States State Department and most American presidents. Accepting the definition of this area. Pre-one 1967. That the world begin in 19474849 I mean these areas historically were Jewish were they not their story take us back a little ways so I mean more a lot of ways you can go all the way back to Biblical times when it was quite clear that this is where Judy in some areas where 80 percent of the Bible stories to place stories that you might remember Jacob having the dream and angels going up and down it happened in a city called Bethel. A town that frankly even the Arabs in told us late hundreds would continue would we continue to call it the town Michael not be Jack-O. But which means which is translated to the place of the Prophet Jacob the place where Abraham hosted the 3 angels were Abraham and Isaac walked to the binding of eyes of the bombing of Isaac took place in Jerusalem which again was occupied by Jordan until 967. Stories of. David Davies kingship started in Hebron where he wrote most of the songs all these all these stories took place in Judea and some area so tremendous amount of Jewish history which I met thousands of years ago thousands of years ago it's not 100 years ago 70 years ago thousands of years ago and these were largely places that were nobody was Christian whether it was Muslims whoever was ruling in Israel there wasn't nobody denied it it's only been something that started to become denied in the last 5060 years and know that even when we comes to Jerusalem in 1967 this week 50 years ago this week when Israel reconquered the Old City of Jerusalem and conquered the Temple Mount the story goes that the Arab the Muslim who was in charge of the Temple Mount literally spoke to the head of the i.d.f. The Israeli Defense Forces there are by. And that this is where you're going to have to sacrifice is assuming that the Jews were going to re re stablish all of the principles and all the rules of the sacrifice of the Jews didn't and that's another just story but that there was the tradition of the even the Arabs had. Even told my thing to the 7 recognise of the Jews were going to come back and someday. The Palestinians and the Arabs have recognized that they need to change that because that narrative that Jews actually are legitimately here that we have a legitimate history here is problematic because they've been claiming that their indigenous and Jews are really European And that's that's been a problem and it's been something it's been accepted by many college campuses. The Templeman I discussed this briefly with Dorrigo What is the Temple Mount the holiest of holy place but what is it that Temple Mount is all you've seen the Western Wall the familiar with the western wall people often call it in fact in Bassett Friedman in ocular called it the holiest place in Israel the in Judaism the Western Wall is really a support wall for the Temple Mount which is really the place where that had the 2 Jewish temples had sat there for hundreds of years dating back over 2000 years ago the last one was destroyed in the year 70 so. 191947 years ago was the last the last temple was was destroyed that was the whole East place in Judaism traditionally that is where the binding of Isaac took place in Jewish tradition and it's a place that is revered amongst Jews and to the extent that the Western Wall is holy and that today President Trump was the 1st sitting president to visit the western wall that's as close as you can get to the holiest place and the place where Jews when the Ottomans the Turks were controlling Israel for the last 500 years until the end of World War one that's the only place that Jews were able to go so beaten down is the top of the topic or at the top of the hill of the of the mountain Yes in the in the Wailing Wall is what I used to call it the Western law I guess we call is is one of the retaining walls where the bottom exactly it was helping to hold up the 2nd temple right right. So they destroy the 1st Temple eventually destroy the 2nd Temple and then when they ask you what the Muslims to what do they build on the holiest of Jewish sites in just a moment we'll be right back. How the road is Ok what's built on this holiest of holy ground of the Jews the Muslims have built in Moscow. But what is more significant and more frustrating . To Jews ensure and really any. Any people. Is that the Muslim they don't treat it with reverence they play soccer on it they have picnics they do things that you would not do in a holy site which really just emphasize the fact that it's not genuinely a holy site to Muslims it is only a hole it's only become a holy site the Muslims because of the significance it is to Judaism. I noticed a mosque near there that had a gold dome. Whether that gold don't get up there and who paid the money to put that gold on it just stands out because obviously it's intended to really draw attention to the mosque and away from the Jewish holy area it's been there for hundreds of years. And it has been designed again this is over the site that Muslims believed was the Jewish holies of Holies we do believe that is the place where the holies of Holies was a place where where mortal man is not supposed to set foot on. The Who are the holies of Holies that it's 10 commandment right so that would be a place of the aesthetic and command it would have been kept in their place that only the high priest would have gone in there one day a year and holy city of the Jewish yarn young king for his King David King David would not have been allowed to be in there although actually it's can David son who built the 1st temple Soma Solomon exactly can David because he had blood on his hands and he was a warrior and even though that wasn't a negative thing. The temple was considered. The House of the Lord house of peace and therefore David was prohibited from building it but his son was was given the honor of building the temple. Now if you're Jewish and you want to go to the Temple Mount. Can you and if you can't can you pray very difficult you cannot pray very difficult for you can't you pray there because the call of the deal that was made I understand yes and the Arabs consider it's a provocation. To pray and it's not even just praying but moving your lips is enough that you can get kicked out so here's the holiest of holy Jewish sites right and you can't move your lips can't move your legs correct yeah. And what are the restrictions in Medina and the restrictions for Muslims in Medina about Mecca in the restrictions in Mecca no question yeah I want to go back to you day at and some area. What percentage. Of that geography is populated with Jews it's remarkable that the total amounts of land mass that is populated by Jews is 1.5 percent and by Arabs over 20 percent which one percent so there's a lot of empty land there exactly he without bothering anybody upsetting the apple cart you're talking 78.5 percent of the land which by any stretch is a tremendous amount of one so the truth is. The Palestinians the Arabs this is the whatever whatever language we are to use they could live perfectly fine in these areas exactly and nobody would bother them exactly and what is most frustrating is that the media that's here the United Nations that is supposed to be overseeing it and they know that better than you and I they oversee it yet they continue spewing out the fake news that every jewish out that is built is somehow rather an obstacle to peace. What I consider to be a very very knowledgeable fellow. And we're going to get into pop hash hash you know I'm going to strike myself. But you're up to the microphone to pronounce your last name ph I apologize Polish right polish. P. I eat p.r.c. If you can spell it that's even better than hard to tell you of people call me live and I just say you know whatever so what I want to get back to this. Day sim area 1.5 percent of the population is Jewish 20 percent is Arab there's tons of turning left I mean it's a small area world you know speaking geographically worldwide but it's a significant area of people to live to live peacefully and so forth and so I'm sure the people keep demanding they keep demanding that the Israelis quote unquote give us our land back right there's a lot of things that are done in these areas that are very very humane but let's start from this what is a settlement what is an outpost I hear Obama talk about settlements and outposts and Kerry and so forth what are we talking about so when Israel was dividing of the land and cried trying to create areas where Jews would be able to live safely what Israel 1st did is did its due diligence to determine whether there were any Arabs who had any deeds any instruments of title they could demonstrate that this was theirs that they owned it. And when after their due diligence period found nothing was was available nothing was credible. That Israel would then go a lot o. Create a city plan. Initially the city file is fairly robust and the initial stage of development was relatively small residential development and the expectation was that in the years to come they'd have a retail that had an even more the next stage of development what they didn't to spades back in the seventy's and early eighty's was that there was going to be a robust amount of international pressure that was consumed that was going to consider every additional Israeli brick to be an obstacle to peace So in other words if I have a home. In today and I want to add about me or at a garage that becomes a knight in international issues it does because now they're saying you're expanding a settlement it's exactly if they want to build 40 more units I mean this is not this is been done 40 more units than the prime minister has to defend it and the prior president would say no no no no we don't recognise those units and so forth again all the land that's a valid will is significant really if if if anybody really wants to live in these these areas right and but this is just the way I mean the truth is I've never seen anything like this in all of history a nation wins a war they're attacked right they went to war and they get back the territory they always had with the indigenous people the Jews historically you can prove it there were no Palestinians thousands of thousands of years ago it's a name that's pretty much made up by Arafat and so forth Ok great whatever and yet you can't even put a balcony on your home you can even put a garage had a garage addition to your home because you're said to be violating some Oslo agreement or. It in it in p. It's a peace agreement right which really is preposterous and I'll give you one way of demonstrating that or flushing that out. Let's just say my home I live in a town called carnation loan which is that it's funny it's called the West Bank but I live a lot closer to the east bank of the Mediterranean Sea than I am to the west bank of the Jordan River Be that as it may. I bill that I have my house in Carnation run in what they were building a few other houses and they're all going to be Jewish every single one will be a Jewish owner will be an Israeli citizen the only way that could be any way construed as an obstacle to peace is if your assumption your baseline is that a Palestinian state has to be Jew free but if a Palestinian state if in the 21st century the international community is going to create a new state out of nothing created a new country for whatever reason you would think that that country should have the basic ability to tolerate minorities that's going to score this point there's a brilliant point you're saying even if something happens that you don't agree with and I don't agree with the millions of people don't agree with there's some kind of peace deal. In all or part of the day and some areas somehow wind up in the hands of the Palestinians Palestinian state and so forth why does it matter if Jews live there and why does it matter if a Jewish family had a garage right you could say that's a really bad investments you could say the mortgage company they gave me a mortgage on my house you're going to go under you know you could see a lot of bad things but shouldn't be illegal I'm not preventing peace I am preventing a Jew free state that I am preventing my presence does prevent that but again in the 21st century there should not be a motivation to create a Jew free state how many hospitals have been built in the palace Palestinian occupied areas where Jews are treated. Me Think about that 0. How many hospitals where how many you live near a hospital right over there is a hospital we drove past today correct in the city of a frog's to City of a fraud and that hospital treats Palestinians during part of the day and tell us about the doctors also who work there and this is what's remarkable and again the sense that the international community has or that some people consider those of us human rights violators who just for living in Judea in some area such a slap in the face to all of us who live there particularly the doctors and the doctors who are there they treat all of their patients Jewish Arab Palestinian most care to the extent that many of them actually will make house calls into Palestinian villages without. Arms without armed guards even though potentially their life could be could be at risk but they go in because of their of the absolute human humane care that they want to impress upon their neighbors and their patients it's the kind of the kind of doctor patient relationship that you would expect in every place in the world but you wouldn't necessarily expect that between 2 people who supposedly are at war with each other and if the expectation of that there needs to be a peace agreement between Israel and Arabs and Palestinians then the then the definition of if we need to have a peace agreement we must be at war so if we're out of state of war how come these Jewish doctors are going into Palestinian villages and are going to have been treating Palestinians who need their care. And if there is some horrific deal. With. With the Palestinians Fatah support him boss. And this land is ceded to the Palestinians and they were trying to and they demanded that these settlements be removed. You'd be removing almost half a 1000000 people from their private property it's not not feasible or one of the ways we know that really for a fact is that that out 10 years ago Israel tried this in the area called Gaza and you may remember in about 2005 Israel had about 70000 resit Israelis who were living in Gaza beach area which now we think about is terrorism but at the time it was a place that Israel had taken sand at taking the sea shore and made a balloon into like farms and they were growing a phenomenal beautiful flowers on the ocean I understand they were doing a tremendous amount of. Agriculture and all other kinds of activities there. Is was forced. They left and they abandoned all those areas and what ended up happening is twofold number one. Palestinians have been over the Gazans have been shooting missiles at Israel every so often and number 2 with the 7 or 8000 Israelis who are living there have really not then how to find the easy way of finding homes finding jobs and they have not been able to be absorbed back into Israeli society Israel understands that the state of Israel recognizes the trauma not just for the Israelis who have to leave their homes but for the rest of the country to see what they did to their own polygamy ask you this. Abbas is considered moderate the moderate about this man is a terrorist just compared to many other just not he is not Hamas right. But they put out hits they train their kids to blow themselves up they pay off people who stab people for the rest of their lives he got his doctorate at the University of Moscow focused on Holocaust denying and so forth and so on and he himself has been a terrorist Yeah Ok fine well not fine but you get the point so their demands he can't do that on Israel survive they want to accept Israel's a Jewish state right. They want to dance America they want to sing those things those latter 2 things are never going to happen in the 1st things never going away and yet I keep hearing even our president today talk about now we can really make a big deal and get peace and so forth and so on. I don't see it I don't see it either but I think one of the things that you see the more time you spend here. Is that there is no grains of possibility on the ground for there to be peace it's a possible that enough external pressure could be placed on a weak Israeli leader or weak Palestinian leader where they capitulate and they sign a peace agreement in Geneva it's entirely possible will that have any bearing on the reality on the ground absolutely not if you have almost every day there are Israelis the i.d.f. Israeli army military is raiding illegal arms that's being manufactured by terrorists to try to go and attack Jews if one day of AA says he has signed a piece of paper you think that's going to change the education that the Palestinians with are educating their kids to hate Israelis treat us as the biggest human rights violators if Abbas and the piece of paper not scritches now we're going to be all friendly. Not reasonable and nobody actually believes that I think it's one of the fallacies for a very long time the international community has been talking about something called the 2 state solution with the expectation that you create an Israeli state and a palace even state everybody will be happy. Now let's just let's just wait there because. In our country. I mean we have Jewish leaders mayor say they believe in a 2 state solution they believe in a 2 state solution they really believe in a 2 state solution complete explain specifically what they're talking about what is it what would this 2 state solution actually look like only that with this other state be free to build up military and an air force would it be free to. To conduct itself as any other state would can if so. Israel is doomed because you just look at the Gaza Strip what goes on there right and they not even free to do these things I just talked about if a Palestinian state wants to have an Olympic team they want to have a passport wonderful I don't really care they want have a flag that's fine they can't have a military they can't have any borders they can't have anything and the truth is in the last 25 years and see also accords they were given the ability to create a semi state and they haven't been able to do it they haven't be able to do sanitation control they haven't been able to do the basic requirements of any kind of local government let alone a national government. Let me ask you this Ellie if I wanted to if I am. A Palestinian. In today or Samarium and I want to sell my home to a Jew can I sell my home did you what happens. It's a great question you know before I moved to Israel I was a commercial real estate developer so I know a lot about buying and selling properties. In his role in Judy ensnare particularly very complicated but the biggest obstacle. For the free cell. Transaction that valving real estate is the Palestinian law. That makes it a capital crime for any Palestinian to sell land to Jews. A capital crime it's a capital crime so it's a death penalty crime. Not only is a death penalty crime but there is no trial this is they kill you they kill you and they leave your body to be found often with a sign on it so how do they do it they sell on the cover of darkness area and that's generally what they do they sell through multiple intermediaries. And usually by the time the sale actually goes through the person who originally owned the property is already has a new identity is like the Witness Protection Program and is living in some European city with his riches c c To me this isn't about land this is about pure unadulterated hate right now hating Jews Absolutely so you can't sell your property Abbas puts a if if a young person goes out and kill somebody even an American a Jew somebody who's not Palestinian intraday or some area they're given a pension they given subsidies or their families are while they're in prison or if they're prison for life they're given subsidies for this is what people understand I mean Abbas comes to the United States he's dressed in a nice suit and tie he talks the game he drops the the language that they like and then when he goes back. He is who he is he serious and in our meeting with President Abbas the president I had state says and we're meeting with the Prime Minister Netanyahu as if these these are equivalents they're not equivalents not even close and also one other whether or not not equivalent is the connection that President Abbas has with his people with the palace in people there's no relationship that he has with his people. About refugees as an example well per person is that what he said is refugees because you have refugees who are living in horrific situations unsanitary a place that should not be allowed people to should not be allowed to live in that in the 21st century yet they are forcing them to live that they are forced to live in there by the Palestinian Authority by the un it is illegal for any residents of the refugee camps to buy a house in Ramallah in an Arab town let alone in a Jewish town so it's illegal for them to buy a house in an Arab town because they want them as refugees when it comes to negotiate and even for propaganda prohibitive for profit that is unconscionable sick thank you once again God bless you ladies and gentlemen that's it for me this week in Israel will be winning my way home whatever that means flying home soon early next week and we'll be broadcasting live from the United States God bless you all and thank you very much. I don't think it was anything I had pain in my abdomen it just wouldn't go away I was body but I had already gone through menopause the symptoms may be nothing but they could be warning signs.
