This is the. This is. The number to. The market. Participants and. For you. One for. Number. 2 since. You wanted to be a teacher when you were little. Things changed when it's time to put it on your list innovative things are happening in teaching today you can be a part make more. Mistakes and you're consistent. And. Yes Because I don't use it on judgement like I turn you know I said this I know this is a jam. We're going to we're going to bond over the music in Europe and like all. Peasants I mean more than the songs you know other than this one I mean none of them none of them not you brought out an extra thick slice of them live how much did you pay cash to just have like I feel like 100 West lay it down by rat was it in did we get that did we have guys on the open so we can switch back to. Temporary music now and I have really similar taste and today's my day I did not see that coming Kat Ok I get some contemporary stuff there we have a discussion that's good I have a request on Twitter for Journey does that fit in anything you guys do. Like it's too lame stream was that request from Randy Scott no hold off Scott is that another request that I mean I'll even know what the guys talking about Tom pleasant journey Brian and Brian anguish their English is actually cleave in sports fan it's no joke but no somebody goes hey you need to lay off Max promises Harry Carey impression it's legendary deal with it did I make fun of it. I thought it was great a little bit little one upmanship but there it was a little on course like the only thing I could contribute to the whole conversation you know I mean you know I thought you're Ok there was something there though I just couldn't put my finger next frustrated Scott with you it is the writer still Osho we're all guest appear via the shell Pennzoil performance line you can get in touch with us through our 1800 Flowers Twitter feed in the Rams 2nd preseason game Jared Goff played nearly the entire 1st half completed 16 of 20 attempts for 160 yards with one touchdown 0 interceptions job well done by him job well done is brought to you by Napa Auto Parts with quality parts and know how Napa Auto Parts can help you keep your ride running longer stronger that snap and know how Jerry got Forget about whether or not we're buying it because there's a preseason game it was against the Raiders say that is a Raider fan and like anybody can look half way competent again 7 are secondary but you know who wasn't impressed Max Mike Martz no Geragos did play one fan that was a one preseason game I watched I was really impressed I'm always bashing there he looked sharp he did look good look at darts or what the fuck is it that made that sound of it doesn't I think he looked good he looked good he's got Sammy Watkins now those 2 will get more more up to speed but all right Mike Martz there's a book out. And it's called Ok it's called blitzed why n.f.l. Teams gamble on starting rookie quarterback you read it no no I don't know whether I don't know how don't think you're a specific title for. The Venn diagram of readership or that it can't be it can't be more than $250.00 pages from is it over that much I don't know that it's Marxist book but he's quoted in the book Ok the author. Thomas George I talk to Mark because if there's one thing Marx could do at one point in if in his n.f.l. Career it was work with quarterbacks right did he work with Kurt Warner. Or was that team back in the Los Angeles Rams writes Most Rams St Louis Rams sorry that he's trying to get sorry so in St Louis and then work with Cutler had a couple of decent years which a color in Chicago now he said this is how well they an exemplary run of quarterbacks Yeah that one good run with Kurt Warner pretty much hurt here and that's why Mike Martz is no longer an n.f.l. Coach So here's the quote here talking about Sean McVeigh new Rams Head Coach Jerry Goff is talking about McVeigh goes what is he a couple months older than Jared They hired a buddy for Jared the n.f.l. Has nothing to do with being the friend or the buddy of the quarterback you've got to coach them and work them hard with respect buddy and this guy is a quarterback expert off fence of expert wait a minute while I puke you hear that from a guy in Mike Martz who's out of the league and you think What about Goff who did look good the other night the 1st thing I thought about is I having a body that is and 9 years older that would still that you're you're pulling in the same area 3131 year olds $31.00 day $22.00 is Gerry Goffin So this is. McVeigh's uncharted waters you never had one like this young in an n.f.l. Circle there but some young coaches but this guy not only is young but he looks weapon Heinie years fresh faced as you could get there's an excitement about that but. I always think of coaching as just putting the time and I get in so many of these profession you've got to put the time in like what we do here you put it in you get better you have better knowledge of what you're doing I think coaching is one of those professions that fall in that I wouldn't be surprised if McVeigh who is so ahead of the curve who's gonna jump on what he's doing has already made this team albeit in preseason look definitely sharpers has a good eye on the talent to put around his quarterback that it's a success but sustainability there's been an issue Tomlinson guy has broken through as a young coach who's who's made it but by logic think of the guys who have not and how little it worries me I think I just be more covered older guys but it's one of those things I hope to be proven wrong and I'm sure I will it's kind of like if you're 31 in the n.f.l. You're going to have players older than you you can have players younger than you and ideally I think the reason McVeigh's there is because of his success with Kirk Cousins in d.c. But also because of his ability perhaps to relate to a younger player but you can it cuts both ways negatively in both directions on the edge back and if you're a 36 year old you know listen with 31 year old stuff like you when I started doing shows that I was a couple years younger than you're probably like this guy this guy at a sports center like I got me a cup of coffee hazed the heck out of me and in the younger players like dude you're 31 you like my brother's age so I got always just you know that's always going to emerge and you don't know how bout you. It's just the psychology you know you talk about some guy this guy I mean what is he what's he been through what I have to sit here and and respect as much as a guy like magic Tom Cotton was your coach and you know we went through those battles right but I will say when it's worked with the young coach you mention Tomlin Super Bowl champion head coach Jon Gruden he was 35 when he got the Raiders job in 98 other sports like Brad Stevens a guy not 31 but I got a head start on this and he just gets it maybe McVeigh's him now Martz as you might imagine this quote has taken on a level its own marksman on e.s.p.n. L a $710.00 radio today and he said the quote in its entirety was quote unquote not accurate he said I would never say something like that it was kind of embellished it was a very short interview I think what I told the author was there's only a couple years difference between them and they probably brought him in because of his ability to communicate with God If you want somebody more his age I guess but all that other garbage I would never say something like that let's hear more from Martz It's a tough game played by tough people and you have to be able to provide that kind of leadership and if you have that kind of leadership if you are right you'll figure it out but if you have to lean on enough people. In a tough game that's what he's going to have. And it sounds like maybe he has the capability to do that he's just going to have to get there real quick I would say it's going to take him 3 years in the job to really feel like you can know what's go on at that point if you've done a good job you have been you know make it 5 years but if not it could be a disaster. Well still pretty pointed with some of those comments I think is I hate to take 3 years well if he does it if the ramps stay on a line that they they don't show improvement from last year he may not see 3 years where he might see 3 years and that's it so there is still that there is still that that dig a bit about being a younger coach in the challenges come it's not a situation where you hit the ground running if you're in your forty's or fifty's which I think Martz believes what would happen if that was a difference a choice. With a coach a little older so March is 66 years old hasn't been a head coach since he left Chicago with the bears he resigned in January 2012 so isn't that 35 year window he's talking about it's been more than that long since he was an n.f.l. Head coach and there is an issue there's a history between this man Mike Martz and that franchise the l.a. Randy and the Rams are not they don't bring in McVeigh to take time and get acclimated after 3 years there the plan is for him to do this job immediately because this is a franchise that it's been in the Malays and looking to get to that next year that that talent on other part of the field but not a quarterback they need to get over that hump in that's why you bring in a 31 year old you've got a new fan base big city young city vibrant city you want a vibrant head coach to reflect a lot of that in the community it's the rhymer siller show with Max Baucus and Rainey Scott reminding you that you can watch all 3 hours of the show on e.s.p.n. Dance far as Doug this piece that you have an e.s.p.n. Dot com So 1st of all the people the Sports Center anchor Las Vegas longtime resident still keep in touch with the sports books out there you do the e.s.p.n. Chalk podcast and now you have this piece up ahead of me whether McGregor The most startling thing for me is the level of concern if you kind of you talk to somebody at William Hill you talk to some other sports books they sound really concerned about exactly what's at stake for them with this fight well it's like anything when you're a bunch of money on the line kind of want to know what you're going to do and they did not see this floodgates of just money in general because do we all really think it be the most bet thing ever like we all see this coming I don't think it was going to happen right now anyway it was announced to do would you think like everyone would want to get out because what happens is people go to Vegas on like June or July and they can't leave town without getting a ticket on the fight that's where all this money has come from it's just every tourist it's the thing to do and I don't think anyone really saw that coming because boxing people don't tie up their money in advance for many things right maybe get some the Cubs at 50 to one back in the day when they stunk and things like that but you don't put down a lot of money and let it sit people just like quick return you won't play in a blackjack or something like that you may but all the tourists were doing this so they were blown away by that and then the fact that it's been all Connor McGregor money so basically what happens is these odds makers. Have the ability to move their own number just make sure they're not completely liable but no matter what they're moving the number 2 they continue to get more money on Connor McGREGOR So they're extremely liable right now and say they're liable and I heard John sportswriters ranting it was it was pretty eye opening. If McGregor was to win they would really be they would be stuck in a bad situation and I'm curious about the good side what happens if they weather as expected wins how does the sport out of the sports books walk out to do they good good lets very good except for a couple now they're so most of these odds makers because of technology and stuff like that you can get whatever money you need to balance your budget that's basically what it is they're managing their risk that they have so come Friday afternoon they can move the number a little bit because it's not just like a football point spread it's 4 and half and both teams can get 4 and a half there's a gap between what you have between playing the money from a weather and what you get back on the Gregor on the money $1.00 so they can move it 10 cents 20 cents 30 cents whatever it is they think this is been the way they've approached bookmaking all along as you can just move it a little bit and balance your budget and then sort of go into the fight meeting Mayweather if that's the position you want but they're not necessarily sure 100 percent even with a few days ago they're going to get that Mayweather money or lease is not going to offset all the floodgates or continue to pour in on McGREGOR So that's why they're a little nervous but yeah they stand to win a lot of money most of them if McGregor if Mayweather wants time we dug his area in Sports Center anchor as well as a whole I want to call you host of the chalk Well there's a couple posts that I read or to let us be in shock podcast and the piece is up on e.s.p.n. Dot com right now why Mayweather McGregor is alarming they guess oddsmakers in the Champ got to me here is if you try to put it into a numeric perspective of just how many tickets are coming in on Conner it's 16 to one is that right then the ratio is so energy then is right now $25.00 to $1.00 a month ago and g.m. Was $50.00 to $1.00 so for every $51.00 tickets 50 of them were on Qana McGregor and do the math if he's plus 3 plus $400.00 plus $500.00 and you know do all that math Now that doesn't mean the money count but the money's like 95 percent percent what's the biggest bet to come in so far as of now I think it's as of yesterday I should say 880001 May weather at minus 550 I decided to put that down for his actions and. All of them a little bit a little walk around money a lot it was burning a hole in my pocket he called Zurich with some money around it as he said I never wanted I'm a weather so I write the what's what are the odds right now as you like and it just seems like 525 is 500 is the consensus and that's Conor minus 5 in favor of innocent people are in favor may well what should the line be just like they opened it like 2500. Could you have gotten that number 7 or 800 February when it was a hypothetical about. Weskit put that up took a couple bats and then kept moving it moving and I mean it was like there was a lot of money really coming in was minus $1100.00 plus $700.00 and then the market really started to move and offshore it's moving even just as much as well because there's all the same concept everyone globally wants to get down on this fight because it's just the thing to do and the placement of this fight on the calendar look where it is there's nothing else going on right that's not by accident they did this without a doubt we're the fools here for days leaving this is like I think if this happened in the middle of November or October with the World Series football college and no one would be betting this give us an example if you would of how this translates into a football line I know you talk to somebody at m.g.m. He say in terms of what he said so it could be like let's say a guy they think in a Super Bowl because that draws in a lot of money is like minus 8 points a favorite over a touchdown Yeah and then for some reason everyone's betting the underdog goes down to 38 to something like that by the points at the Ritz it's hard to make that comparison because it's money line and payout so the whole reason for this is people go to Vegas and want to get rich right that's one of the things people try to do in Vegas you're not going to get rich link 5 to one on a favorite That's not that fun just they want to bet on the underdog and say they had that ticket when the guy wins Yeah they're a good bet floating out there is there something savvy that you it that. You need in terms of this fight you think on this one I don't this is what I think could very well happen I wish you could bet on this if you're Conor McGregor and you're getting your head beaten in Floyd Mayweather is going to treat your head like a speed bag like I think it's going to happen not necessarily like knock you out with one punch but just just repeated punches you're never going to touch Mayweather don't like after the bell in the 5th round you just say screw it and go just tackle Mr get him up like a u.f.c. Thing then if I could stop and be cute but you have to take a contract to lose and when to lose when I think all right if I was right but what about the world what the Internet explode when it's. You guys love this so just quit wondering game ready oh so my girlfriend soon one of the biggest things most important thing is buying a home right. Now what would you like the best way to go about it and like you know what you're about down and 5 percent to 30 percent you know those are very big time like what's the best way to go about it I have you ever served in the military. Have not Ok sometimes military folks can get a credit union access I would find an f.h.a. Opportunity f.h.a. It's only 3 and a half percent down kind of cuts down on the 5 percent you find f.h.a. Lending and you qualify for that based on income level that cuts down payment down and it's like Same for anything and like really just budgeting deciding where you can cut out if you're Starbucks guy cut that out rode it home save up some money and do it but I will say this don't try to buy a house close a house while you're planning a wedding tackle one major life thing at a time now be my buddy my advice fed a bad idea to call it out for a little help too if you need to. Get someone else on the loan put their name on there soften the blow a bit cosigner Yeah cosign Yes how the finances Jonker for you Are they Ok maybe the wife they were going to skip the honeymoon and get in on the other house. Finances are right I'm going have a decent job an engineer for company and they'll be like really you go and my girlfriend I was just going to school I know I know we have a 4 year old son the kid needs a. Needs a home base Yes true and it's it's important it's admirable what you're doing but also listen when you get married sometimes you do 100 fund as people hey we get you a get you know just contributed money fund take that put it honeymoons off the books it's got to be a real down payment for the house is a port Thank you Jonathan All right so is it broken or Braga broken broken What's up. With. A program how can we fix your life. Long Distance Relationship 7 months you have to have hours away she went ahead and found a job down here she put in her 2 weeks notice she doesn't have a place to live and I don't really want to stay in with me how do I break the 2 are I are you calling from Utah is there any religious element to you or your girlfriend. Negative is that they could be a nice crush him if you want to go on we can do this yeah is it possible for you before she does find this job and has to find a living situation could you find religion and use that as an excuse. I could. Use at 7 months together and a lot. To how sure you feel about it because this is you may want to do it 2 and a half hours is a killer you commute to imagine it was like now instead of your work you're commuting to your potential love of your life yeah I think that's almost better than going to the whole I don't want to you know going to right now you're not going to stand in her way of getting a job that's all saying this just say you had a previous relationship and it moved too quickly and it didn't work out and you like her and you don't want to make the same mistakes you want to do it the right way how do you like her too much that's why you're doing it. She got it. Right that line works by the way so Michelle was like stay in order on the on the line so Nick is next Nick in Michigan Nick. What's up there Nick. My. Son worked for. Mother Well we had a well we're late our daughter heart surgery. And she told me she. Looks. Like after I have the surgery I'm all drugged up at our own Ira I was a good boy. Not out after the party or work or party so you don't know how we get along really well but there's always like this will work play I can't tell you there's still a spark or not so it's like do I reply but I'll just leave the lot I have 5 years from now I assumed the whole situation is good I want to take that for granted are you doing Ok healthwise. Right on a spin it forward 5 years what do you feel worse about the embarrassment of trying and failing or the regretted not trying if she moves on with somebody else. Right yeah but I'm. Not There's no indication that she really feels that you should leave because I know you're I think there was a little bit of a spot like sometimes you catch a little bit of a spark Yeah but you say towards me like listen the next time you catch that spark to be Ok if I'm feeling if I'm crazy call me out on this but if this is start to feel like old times in a really good way I've matured I've changed the tickers doing well why do you say about let's we'll have to make any noise you go in for the kids here at some point you will just go get to let's not let's go do let's go get dinner we'll talk it out . I just think you got to take use when you get to go grab with the kid again you get one killer with kindness a lot because you want to nurture that relation that is really important you don't want to get into fights or anything you want to keep the good because. That relationship will will take a toll if that's the case I'm really really bad with that you know one thing I'm going for children I'm rooting for Nick in Michigan man good luck man. Radio presented by Progressive Insurance guests on the show appeared by the shell Pennzoil performance line as we say presented by Progressive Insurance customers who switched to progressive save an average of $500.00 call or click today and find out if we could save you hundreds on your car insurance is anyone going to say football is football in need of saving right now know in a couple of years though possible different story we've heard more Smith had the n.f.l. Players Association say. A that he anticipates and expects a work stoppage and today Max we heard from the players union wrap this is Eric Winston talking about the future of the game and with a decidedly different tone than someone you might expect to say I don't care and I don't think the guys in this locker room care whether those things are be around 20 years ago some of us are going to find so these guys want to run for a long time then they can own for a long time but then either work stoppage like Michael are going goes so you know I'm certainly not worried about it I'm not going to be around on me and I don't care even if there were kids on here that are going to find that long so this thing dies out 20 years of guys on players but that's not really my concern and I don't think it's any of these players concern here that. I love him you love that but I just like the no nonsense approach but. There's anger amongst the the n.f.l. Players the crazy thing is that it's 2017 and we were hear this from De Maurice Smith seemingly that this is it it's not going to be fixed there's nothing on the right suggesting that these 2 parties are getting closer to being a happy to trade just so many loose ends there'd be unhappy from the Players Association but you've got to blame damn a lot because they kind of put themselves in many ways in these situations if. But these are going to be trying times for the n.f.l. There's a lot there's a lot at stake on the field off the field that. I have to get fixed like I don't I don't like hearing any I that what really got me and that means that resigned I think it's more defined is this more about it up yeah it is what it is yeah I don't care why would he I guess like I'm having a hard time sort of I don't know reconciling what I feel like an n.f.l. Player should say because I think any fan it's anybody who never played the game says well you always to the good of the game in the future of the game and you're part of something and it's a brotherhood but this is at the end of it's a father it's a husband it's a guy who has a an average n.f.l. Career last 3 years so yeah he's going to look out for number one but he's a good career and he has Yeah that feels been good to him but he's taken on to him to be very vocal and be involved with the Players Association he's been there for like 5 years it seems like well he was a link to some way shape or form 23 years associate But you're right no he came out you know 6 from the University of Miami the 3rd round pick so yeah he's he's put in his time and if you think anybody would care about we hear more from him than anyone else f l players association issues we usually go to him but now he's straight shooting is getting so straight that but do you have a problem like does he owe he or any other player right now whether you've been in since 06 or whether you're a rookie this year do you owe anything to the future of the game. Well. I suppose not I suppose. The future is going to be determined here in the present with so many decisions that are being made I think I think realistically when you hear that line about how much you love the game and you've been involved in this and you want to you love football that even though you may not agree with the n.f.l. The time to the fact that you love football is that you're going to try and leave a lasting impression you know leave you're going to try and leave the league a little bit better but I if these if this. The n.f.l. Has not done a lot of favors to these these players so if you go and you make your living and get a clean set of heels I have no issue with that at all. It's weird because I wish it was different I think that a lot but times are changing and the n.f.l. Where times are really tough with contracts that. Again you look back unless there's a select few who had the serendipity or everything worked out really well for them there's both these guys were these Everything you've dealt with the n.f.l. Probably show a bad taste in your mouth here's what Winston does care about though and he says as much he cares about the rookies now and how they can prepare themselves for this work stoppage that he deems is inevitable and it's just like anybody in a position of power like it's one thing if you're talking you know to somebody if your new employer someone you're talking to somebody who maybe was hired in the same hiring group as you are like. To talk about the future the place broad terms but then you hear from someone in a position of leadership who has a nihilistic view this negative view on the future of what you do I don't care so much more weight and that's what Winston has done but he says he cares about rookies says Honestly these guys are going to be right in the middle of that talking about the work stoppage they need to understand what they're getting into what they need to prepare for and that's going to be big because the last lockout $132.00 days probably could have gone longer for too many more players because they could afford it because maybe they didn't that's offered as a real chance to come in and say that you know we'll get more on this last look at the 1st preseason a.p.
