Interview I'm going to play the audio this is how this whole thing started we're talking about male players but there is of course wonderful female players let's talk about Serena Williams You say she is the best female player in the world in the book. Best female player ever no question. Some wouldn't qualify it some would say she's the best player in the world qualify it oh she's not even the best player in the world period yeah best tennis player in the world you know what I say a female player well because if she was if she played the men's circuit she'd be like 700 in the world you think so. That doesn't mean I don't think Serena is like an incredible player I do but there's you know the reality of what would happen on a given day serener could beat some players I believe because she is so incredibly strong mentally but if she had just just played the circuit the men circuit that would be an entirely different story so maybe at some point there are a woman. You know can be better than anybody I mean I just I haven't seen it in any other sport and I haven't seen it in tennis and I suppose anything's possible at some stage. Your reaction to all that so it's Lulu Garcia Navarro who conducting the interview and I think it kind of hinges on one question or one word rather within the question best versus greatest I think a lot of people Mike Greenberg included may have taken it toward the greatest idea the idea of being the greatest tennis player and when I watched your exchange with greeny where you feel like you guys didn't disagree very much what kind of thought you did but it was entertaining and I feel you was respectful but I think one side maybe greeny was saying greatest all time and it was in an all time context we're talking career resumé Serena has the greatest resume of any tennis player ever right and everybody would agree on that but Garcia Navarro question was about best and it sounded more contemporary It sounded more current this is actually what I heard so right and that's the side that's what was kind of frustrating to watch you agreed to it was that feel like you guys were operating under slightly different like it was kind of like in Stranger things like you were up here and he was the upside down you guys were trying to navigate that space. And. Case really kind of. An assessment was that this was out of necessity this was self-preservation and that you put Westbrook in a corner and you tell me can't do something and that's when he brings out his very best and so for me you know the roster was flawed there was issues all over it I think he could have done things better I asked him last night he said he wishes he could have done a lot of things different this season but when it comes down to. Russell Westbrook's going to give you your effort 100 percent of the time and he's going to go down swinging no matter what and I think that's one of his best qualities talking with Rush on our European thunder reporter right she had a piece up on e.s.p.n.
