Baby found a teapot here in Colorado with your favorite. Point but at that place you. And welcome back to Kate c.s. Use their Ramblers Nick Baker here with Dixon moss and Corey Odom. And the football pheasant Oh no. I've heard this is the way that's why you remember because they didn't see the little ball games this was like the opening thing this is all you ever hear this is the c.s. You're going to fight so yeah. Dixon. Is a joke announced. Maybe I was joking but I wasn't. A classic classic All right so for those of you who are unaware c.s. You made a coaching change. They have hired a new coach Steve Daisy Oh I'd. Go I believe it's Adagio. He has come from Boston College. And Temple a long time ago he's the 23rd head football coach in program history he's just a couple games over 500 on his career to Nick kind of a soapbox moment here you can All right 1st we're going to pause for a brief statement I'm very surprised. Oh Ok Ok what do you. Think you. Are I take it you could count you know like you want to music I do. Like how you're going to put on that night when he said I'm going to take a break I thought you like he's good in the music I'm looking something that's got a little bit of burning rage on the inside of the ring burning burning rage not just radio not like I got subtle rage burning I want clarity it's like an inferno right now couldn't it you know honestly I have the perfect song for you as I've been bottling it up and now here's my chance of tears. He yes I showed make this. Perfect I don't know you have it you brought it back yes I brought it back in one so it's easy what you were doing you get rid of a coach after not having success right around 500 for most of his jobs and then you hire another guy who's 500 and if that's not the worst part right because you could argue like he's been in Bowl Game 6 ls 7 years like Ok yeah whatever that's cool but he's losing those ball games as well so it's not even like he's winning them and then his career at Boston College where he just got fired from he went 44 in 44 so that's not phenomenal Now obviously people who are listening like book or at you was one game under 500 how can you make that argument shut up that's up. Like you know like there's no Super Bowl rings in and out of those passed right so you never I've never been impressed by anything that he's accomplished and then as if that is not the worst part of this entire thing players after he got fired. To Twitter to talk about how pleased they were that he's no longer there there was one player who talked about the fact of he can't recruit he said he couldn't recruit he couldn't coach his player was on the Falcons during the Superbowl run and doesn't call the Falcons according to this report and said that he tried to get the player kicked off the team because he had personality issues that's not great you don't want to hear that from your leader right and then there was another one who talked about the fact that just he said the quote I've been with many great players and coaches in my career coaching is not one of them Ok Ouch I know you're going to bring up the if you read it it's his so folks know that's why I said wait a minute I can step off. I want to end with the why again why Urban Meyer's comes in if you hire Urban Meyer and this is who you guys agree on. I just don't it's like oh yeah he helped me to 2 championships in Florida he had over 20 years ago. You know you know what else I want to bring up just before Dixon brings in his staff housing to say Can I have some music to appreciate you can you share. Any personality and. Yeah you do. One thing that's very concerning to me when we're talking about he's 44 and 44 with what Boston College. But he's 22 and 34 in conference including just a few years ago in 2015 when he went Oh and I mean Clemson I'll give you that when you're going to comes in every year yeah outside of Clemson. Not a ton of powerhouse teams in the a.c.c. Yet so when when you look at the a.c.c. The teams in their Clemson Louisville Wake Forest. Football school know Boston College Wake Forest Florida State Syracuse n.c. State which Virginia Virginia Tech Miami cities in football sports Virginia Tech in Virginia they're always good reading you've got to face the championship this year Niamey the Tar Heels Duke and Georgia Tech again Tar Heels on a football school so it's like what if you go back to all schools now you're back yeah when you look at the a.c.c. This season it's 8 no Clemson one in 7 n.c. State now outside of that ever everyone's almost 500 or within a game or so yeah so you know the fact that you know he went 08 at some point in conference that means he's probably losing to an n.c. State and. Present conference today I want to go over your takeaways from that So 1st off you focus he's like I don't care about baldness he didn't say that I'm going to paraphrase it like I don't care about ball games I care about rivalry games like that's where I'm focusing on he never said Wyoming He's like the team up north he's like we're going to take down the team up north right so one he just did . I don't know I have my media I mean you got to hear from Boston. You probably heard the stat that sees you as I want to rivalry game in 4 years and that's a big reason as to why Bobo got I go yeah agreed to so yes like even a bit of everyone loves him that's a bad that so he someone who's not historically done well in conference is talking about how he's going to start winning the French games right but I also want to I want to throw a counter to you he's coming from Boston College which I don't know I was a football player and I don't think I would have ever even thought about or not also exactly that matter yes you had to say Ok I want I want to I want people out there understand Boston College football history is linked to 2 names obviously Matt Ryan in the most recent history and Doug Flutie they all made. Doug Flutie and Matt Ryan the great player don't get me wrong Matt Ryan is a great quarterback but literally that is your reputation for the whole program you know Hail Mary from Doug Flutie back in 1905 and then Matt Ryan being your quarterback which meant I was a great college quarterback even a great and fell quarter so that leads me to my point of he may not have truly had a ton of talented to work with so those years that he didn't do great in conference honestly maybe they just didn't have any one record in that may he may not be a great recruiter but I also go ahead and put that he comes to if he's. If he's a coach had a school where there's no players there why is he getting this jump up to see if you to be the head coach I still think we have players do you think I mean yeah it's close at least more it's got to both of them Boston College Yeah. It's got to be more of an up and then like Boston College because Boston College There's only one team that entire division that I know is the a.c.c. But it still is just clumps and that's only Their us at least it's a pretty competitive to say obviously our powerhouse is different right right Clemson is much better than Boise of course obviously it's on a similar scale they. Were not an east coast school with a ton of. Transfers honestly if you went around you know in Boston Boston College is in the northeast where there's a high concentration of people if you win around Americans surveyed them which is a bigger football school I'm sure c.s. Use probably going to come up higher than Boston College. That's a tough one I don't know. That I could see that when I went west on the way he's successful at a school that's equal and or yes we're it's a it's not a he didn't get an upgrade he got fired and lateral made a lateral move can I be as I think we should have just waited and I'm kind of upset about how quickly we found a coach. Well someone's got to recruit like right now Ok you don't know if you do every day there isn't an entire staff that can I get that you don't have a big name but if that's really all we're there for don't make them the head coach make a position which is head of recruiting and go get a name person to city hall people join the teams for the coach. So meet me specifically I was an edge rusher and I'm not going to go to a school where I'm not certain I'm going to fit into that defensive scheme I'm not going to go to a school you know because what happens when they say they signed a coach that now makes my position irrelevant what happens when they sign a coach that makes you know I'm a deep threat receiver what happens if they send a coach that does not run the pass even different what if I'm going to sign him for 4 years to a guy I've never met a guy that isn't even there he doesn't exist right and says like I want to I want to know the guy I'm going to be working under for 4 years Right right that's a part of it as well yeah so I mean it's an unfortunate time to do it was a big reason why Bobo decided to step down instead of wait till January 1st to get fired how to really hurt the team exactly he was willing to get a new coach and so that new coach could start recruiting and it would have any kind of moral greatness to it and then for both he wanted to get somewhere else you know he could start recruiting the up and Dixon I want to throw a question to you have me come here. There is obviously one coaching candidate then I can't hear not all the time throughout the process which was which was 20 offered who was a great running back here at c.s.u. Who is now the assistant head coach at Ohio. A university and running back coach would you have preferred that they wait to get him or if you asked mouse opinion I would have I would have preferred them point someone out from within their ranks I don't like the idea of going on trying to find a big name and I get that that's not what happens but if you want my personal opinion I think that there is at least before you go out searching you tried that and you went out and you sunk all your money into a big name coach and I don't get you anywhere so maybe look to within your program try to find someone who maybe doesn't cost you as much so you can put more money other places that's fair so I mean that's my that's my opinion on I don't like the whole situation is cheaper than Bobo Yeah but I think the guy is taking a 1000000 dollar pay from when he was a boss of 2500000 each year he's still making one wish $5000000.00 the again is incredibly problematic to me when you're like oh this is our big name guy who's taking a pay cut to come here yeah that's just good Yes see that's my point of view would have been better off just saying hey here's someone from within the organization because then they can build their own name if they come on they have a ton of success next year you recruitment going to go up higher than if you would have brought in you know I huge name coach and had media mediocre success story what do you guys Ok here's where I'm going to stop you right there for who would you want who would you want and that stat because right now I can't trust that staff receiver coach because you know when he left that's right I mean so that's so . I don't know besides that besides that guy who else would you just like to try him back I think so I can't trust a corner I can't trust just specially that have been able to sit in their rooms their scheme rooms when they're going to breaking down these defenses or these offices because as much as I would like to say I know these guys based on what I've seen I can say that about any coach at c.s.u. I can say that I know them well enough if I was in the system I could make a decision on who would come out but I don't think it's fair to say that they're all not good enough because with their. Be a diamond in the it's tricky to to move from defense according to head coach right like yeah like that's that So you're like Ok at least you know how to do it right so that is one worry off your bat already I will admit that you know he does it mediocre All right so you're not taking I've rather take a risk on somebody new saying I don't know if I agree with that I know that I have a lot of loyalty like I believe in a lot lower I think it means a lot more very I agree with you with that because I do have a lot of loyalty and all that but I think stepping out like from from the from your in house I think is important because you need to bring need to bring in a new voice but I will I don't know if I like this new I don't like good days yo the hiring I just I don't know but I don't how it's going to change a culture yet and the thing with head coach is oftentimes they bring in their own coordinators so it might not even matter of the day which you know that's something that needs to happen sooner rather than later we're going to talk more about this as well as there were some some other players who did talk about adagio in a positive light we're going to address that and more coming back after a quick break before we do that Dixon had a question for the people at home so you know what do you think about the new head coaches issue we just kind of want to get your thoughts so for it to Texas 897-0491 Casey issue give us your thoughts it could be really short a yes no whether you like him or go in depth give us something to talk about you can be a part of the conversation Yeah that's the best part about Texan in absolutely you can also call us but we prefer it on a break Yeah you know at the end of a like I'll just say text because it's just easier on everyone if you drive and we don't want you to be trying to talk to us and folks and I'm driving you don't text you don't do you expect to drive you know that was what I was I did that but then you freaked out and I'm hard not to James as well Ok. I just take a while to get to my point will be right back keep it locked Ramblers. Honestly everything's. It's hard to pick one type of music when you're asked a classic I speak or a white line on my show this and the other you don't have to be confined to just one John but I plays a. Text in with what you want to hear every week on Mondays 5 to 7 pm this and the other but. Only. Sally. Bowles. Tell me. I don't want to wait in long. Wait. Till I'm going. To see. You. And welcome back to. The fighting present. It's time for Dixon he's got some some tweaks to read. We were just talking about there was a lot of players coming out saying that was the worst coach they've ever had. Mediately responded with 3 players saying that he was a good coach for. Others or at least had the same last name. So I guess I want to start. First off this all happened about 5 minutes or so after all the other tweets come out so basically bad negative media kind of presents came out of the 1st one. When I think of football I think of Steve. He is a great leader of men and his knowledge of the game is like none other coach adagio has always been another father figure to my brother and I we love you coach and good luck on your next journey that's Marquis power. Ok next one. Suspended for. I'm guessing that reason why he's speaking out is because he was off to the University of Florida that is why Next up we have Mike Pouncey I'm so happy for the current State University the Rams got a great man a great coach and Steve adagio I would be the man I am today without him not only did he help me become the full player and today he was also a father figure to me and my brother marquees away from our family at the University of Florida he turned to young 2 young kids from Lakeland Florida in 2 men I am now a current State fan so after just 2 days when he has 1st thoughts. What is the sound like a pressure. This so for me happening 5 minutes after all that stuff even within an hour it seems like a known issue that the that it department knew about and they had this continuous loop of plan ready because these guys graphics as well yeah because you know 1st of all you're not making that graphic within a half hour No 2 you're not contacting an n.f.l. Player getting an official release on a signing we have no way not a chance especially not even an hour yeah how do you have pounds is an n.f.l. Player who is in season getting ready for a game there's no way you're contacting him within an hour getting a statement and then making the graphic posting it because you have to have the statement before you make the graphic and there's no way that wasn't made well in advance my biggest thing is that both of those positives are him as a position coach right all of the negatives are him as the head coach right so these positives might not even matter right because you could be a completely different person because head coach is a much more taxing job than being oftens of language and marquees Pouncey played from the with the gators team from 2007 to 2009 yeah that's a really long time ago people change a lot 10 years exact way to go yeah I was 14 when they say that you're probably a little bit of a different person when I was in Vietnam Moving on now we have Urban Meyer. Steve 0 has all the qualities of are all the qualities you want and head football coach Coach does you and I have a longstanding relationship through coaching including winning 2 national championships together at Florida and I've seen firsthand how passionate he is about the game of football the players he coaches and the program he leads he is one of the nation's top recruiters and we're representing Carra state well I'm excited to see the Rams develop under his leadership all the same he was there last time he was a position go it was a decade ago let's see if we can it additionally a big thing when Urban Meyer was talking to people. Talking to c.s.u. People they were like oh he's clearly suppose. Ohio State running back No no it was for you yeah from a decade. Is an outstanding coach in an incredible person he helped shape my brother and I into men we are today I would not be where I am today without he brings out the best in everyone he interacts with he loves us football already loves his players and we love him Chris Lindstrom 2901st round draft selection former Boston College Eagles often. So. That's better the last one that I want to point out as one of the Broncos players Joel dress and he also. Treason Jordan recently told reason Ok Well I've been here wrong on. He retreated when we 1st you know only one official came and said he's going to you know welcome to let's do it then you know I don't know I just it feels a lot to force carries the least amount of weight there for me because every one he put he played at c.s.u. Like 20 years ago. Because he was an n.f.l. Tight end for about a decade starting in like 2005. 100 number plate for this guy. And you know any of any of that stuff so it's literally just a former player just supporting his whole team that means almost nothing to me. Same as if Corey were to read tweeted I believe that Ok cool the one who follows the team is Ok with the move they made great. Life Wow One is what he tweeted so that has almost the exact same way to me right now they both mean yeah they will have connected to the program but not in it or not directly involved with the parties anymore last kind of wrap up question do you think it's fair that the season has even started he hasn't even really made a ton of new recruitment choices we haven't seen anything and we're already making decisions based on his past and I know that's our job that's our job is that really fair of us to be out here saying you know what he's you know 5500 on his career let me make something clear this isn't an attack on him as a person it isnt it. Joe Parker's decision yeah I totally agree with that I have nothing against because that's what I want to say I as good I question Joe Parker and President McArdle when it comes to there's a lot of cool. Because the economy goes down because I I read basically when he wanted to say monocle I wish we had him on particular cool continue that when Dodger got the call he got the call from her not Parker which is also really weird if you see that they were in Indianapolis with her Meyers Yeah yeah yeah that doesn't good point to bring up Joey the I don't have one. So I've not super from Miller with hiring processes for college teams and how involved deans are yeah but I would assume they're generally not as involved at least they're not more involved than the athletic director in the end that seems weird to me so but she vetoed an option because of personality issues also a little bit weird I don't know I kind of like it but she does not bring it up to the n.f.l. It reminds me of so let's say you're going to draft a guy 1st overall he generally gets a call from a general manager or a head coach saying hey do you want to be a part of this team. It's not the owner because the owner Jerry Jones is your edge outside of that side of Jerry Jones is that you get a call from from you know Robert Kraft liked to be on the Patriots. I guess but why are you calling me when you don't make any of the football decisions you work with the money right or no I still like the idea of her kind of being the I don't mind being a part of I don't like her being the driving seat Yeah I agree because she is making the call of the driving seat Yeah so is it because this is the at this is on the athletic director I mean I understand she's got to be I'm bald I have no problem with the idea you know I got nothing against her but this should have been Parker making that call making the call because this is the I don't you see. So we're doing it our dynamic there where we're this is a football decision a football choice and she's If she seems to be more involved in it than Joe part I could see her having a huge say in the financial part of your oh yeah it's all her choices yeah that's why she is Joe Parker's boss of course she's a good part of the conversation now but at the end of the day she hired Joe park she didn't hire Parker. Parker was hired to do this job specifically for her to do the job so I think we're going to nit picky I feel like I feel like it's a very minor thing that even to bring it here if Hannah Copeland love Hannah Copeland if she's listening if she comes on the show and talks about coaching days you know people at home are going to carry a lot less weight she hired me to do this job to tell people at home that is my job can be a part of planning the show absolutely can she be on the show absolutely but is it her job to come tell you the news but I think it's I think it's that little part you're like Can she be involved can she come on say some stuff yeah I think it's just a super I think maybe truly he maybe had some else to do it may have just worked out like something else then says it was my own little possibility you know that's why I'm like that is his job and it's his job and I have to be like if you're the guy that opens the elevator like out of an apartment building and he's like I can't press the button I have something else to do your job to me like it's the most important part of your job so it's like in this fantasy situation where the president has like this button for nucular bombs if but he's like on the back in the toilet like he can't be there he needs to be like oh there's a hand on the red button someone else principle that I need him to be there yeah but I want to answer Dixon's earlier question Ok so is it fair for me to judge a guy based on previous experience and I'm going to I'm going break this down and the way that I will handle this is going to be very similar to the photo back in trade for me with the Giants and the Browns initially not a fan in any were garter But quickly I would become Ok with that and nowadays is the football coach I would never doubt that. I will never I will never double guess that I will have this period of doubt and potential remorse and then I'll have another period to step in and potential love it's your job to dissect it right now me as a fan and a double job for you as an analyst is one that I'm not knocking that I don't mind it's just I feel like it's there's been a lot of negative energy sea issue around the football team and it's only going to in my opinion get better is if we're instead of us all just nit picking like now you know what let's get behind him let's all 100 percent buy in I and that includes fans because like the fans yeah. I understand that as well but when you're making so we were talking I think we're talking about it off air. So he actually took a pay cut to come here at a $1000000.00 which which is problematic to me that you're taking a pay decrease which suggests this isn't where you want and where you have to be so so when there's a move like that made if you're a casual c.s.u. Fan which honestly. Most of them are if not worse than the national fence and you see something like that. And you weren't going to games anyway yeah why would you go to games now why would you take that extra effort to get behind the team people like you and me Dixon of course it's not that big of a problem to get behind the team but when you're talking about a freshman on campus who has almost no attachment to the team why would they start Ok I mean that's when I was a freshman I had no intention of the team but I still went to the games and even though the coach was annoying the player you're a very specific sports minded person we're talking we're talking about a business major who had a well in the game and it was a blow up throw my entire domes that way no one in my. Thanks I get your point but you can see my point is not just as valid sure I hear like they're not going to drive it you go yes you can if you look over the years attendance has gone down and down and I think you do because everyone is just so negative on the coach instead of them being like you know they're not saying they're not exactly good care who the coach is if you're winning Ok so but it we're not going to know if he's going to win or not to week one so when you rather have one at least week one say let's go support it loses I don't care. I could lie to myself to lie to the people on the radio and be like I believe in this guy right which is an option right but I don't believe that yet right like I said I'll come aren't but actually I know you've been and I just said. Yeah at the end of the day nothing I'm going to say or my mindset is ever going to change what's going to happen so I might as well just say you know what I'm going to get past it and I said that's what you said you're going to do it I just did it oh that's why exactly it's in process it's all I want you to talk about it and talk about the potential ramifications and what it means now I don't like I want people to go to football games that's that's something that I truly want so I'm not rooting against this guy no no no we're talking about what it means for the program I do have something I really want to talk about what we do need to take a quick break in the meantime if you do want to submit your thoughts on the coach and the hiring you can text in the 170-491-5278 join the conversation in the meantime keep it locked We'll be right back. I'll give you my thoughts on what it means about Joe Parker and his career and how. Ship is sailing right now. Myself going to get to this point please so we were talking about coaching is the Dixon brother fair point we're not we're not judging him as a coach we're judging the decision in the biggest thing for me is Joe Parker So Joe Parker. Is is on the hot seat that's something that can't be debated debated. In his time here he's had a very troublesome run through sports the sports that have been the most successful are women's basketball and volleyball neither of which did he bring in many of the personnel right. But for the of the big 4 at least Yeah neither of which did he bring in any of the personnel he didn't sign Hilbert he didn't side hoe try and William Ryan Williams excuse me. Which you know. Part of why I think he was in a lot of that social media for the 1st time for the volleyball team is he's trying to associate himself with a good program here it's you yeah because he's on thin ice now do you know when a bit of a rough patch and football's been a rough patch his big decision when he came here was Bobo and Bobo didn't pan out so this needs to be a big choice and I think this was a safer choice but then again I. I don't know if I place a bit safer than promoting someone internally it's safer than making another big gamble because another big gamble if it doesn't play pay off within a year Jo Parker's probably to how is this not just as Dave in my piss is low as this is going to side 100 this is a low risk low reward I feel like it doesn't matter who it brings and whether he promotes some Whether he sings in a big names this is his last chance to get some fires actually wanted Joe is talking about the guy from Ohio State Yeah if you bring him in on a big deal because he's going to get a big deal and he you know the team is 500 in the 1st season here he comes here so yes you go 500 or worse Joe Parker's out the door the 2nd to see if there are 500 I think he stays let me let me also clarify some for you a quick clarify Parker actually wasn't here yet when Bobo was hired he wasn't Ok it was it was Tony Frank who hired him and I know this for a fact without the idea because there was no aid to Jack Graham the her before that and just been fired and Tristan you going to you go there drat speaks volumes it does speak to the McConnell question a little like we have a president or a dean of a college making a decision point of the athletic turn loose the athletic director and you go we need to look this up or just someone is making schedules. I guess but that's only half the job description of he's done a good job of scheduling I'll give him that that's one of the most impressive things I've seen about athletics volleyball challenges Well yeah skeeball challenges Well football he's getting s.c.c. Matchups Oh yeah they really bases. They played Alabama Yeah they played home and home with Arkansas Yeah those are some good men Yeah they've got Michigan they've got upcoming games against Arizona Arizona State Yeah those are good yeah. But again sports have not been incredibly successful. So even even women's basketball when I came to the. The women's basketball was dynasty really and yet my freshman year was very good as well and it's really gone downhill to my last year yeah it's about a $500.00 team almost it was run whims the coach turned he was you know Coach what goes well you didn't have a great guy I love talking to man the team has been through a couple rough patches so outside of volleyball which has been a consistent for over 25 years outside of all the ball every other sport has really kind of gone downhill softballs been good but softballs not going to keep your job . While he just bought this while someone just paid for this you know right indoor tell you honestly probably did that because soccer and you know I was like What do you call it like a diamond. Full see you Center. Stadium and the stadium yesterday and for women soccer and women yes off a complex that's a much better word well because soccer and softball have been the only sports to change you know good way Parker coming here. So again you know it's something he's done well and also you know honestly it's just that the wind it is a little silly that women's soccer was playing on an I am field yeah and women softball didn't have lights so they can play in the dark at least when softball had like an actual diamond on campus they was like well maintained but no one says it wasn't a great facility Don't get me wrong there was only like a maximum of $100.00 seats. So that he was receiving your own Well parents bring their own Yeah well again that's going to blues Yeah well that's I think you know we have a great soccer team I think it goes back to my earlier issue of why do prisons a historically good season now so I thought about these not to say you make it makes a ton of sense now and you can actually start to make money from the teams that are very good bye bye you know having to have an economy went south having concessions having you have a have in tournaments and yeah right and you can use it for other things like like I am championships and whatnot now which is super cool honestly I love it. A lot more than I've loved any any other sports this edition and in my time here. And let me just also point this out about Joe Parker every school that he has been to he's had success at. I mean I'm looking at his I don't know his history hours of fun Ok so. Yeah well he so he actually went to school at the University of Michigan where he was a 3 time all Americans want room then doesn't really affect his job but let me get him up here man that was a ball. That seems like a solid 5. So then he got so then Texas which is where you guys Masters Longhorns Yes Texas Longhorns eyes he was a developer manager there but then he went to went to Washington State Oklahoma as a deputy athletic director at Texas Tech and 6 years as sorry senior associate at Michigan Ok so right so he's so he's got he's got the resume but I'm questioning a little bit when it comes to here because I mean obviously some of these other schools they're better suited Yeah Harbaugh it is a different level than a dollar. I get that when there's always there's probably more resources and percent then the biggest college there the biggest stadium in the United States Yeah and obviously Texas Tech and Oklahoma especially down there are also great but I mean like if you think about it Nick like I'm looking at this and like sorry I have the chosen one I was chosen. I just I question like his motives when it comes to hiring the football coach because you say your top priority was integrity Yeah I mean like Ok And yet your To Do you want this guy well this is a person who has a mixed bag you know you got this as I can even if even if both sides are completely. Legit you know I mean. There are still people on a bad side and you know you've got a fellow that things there are a ton of coaches that have minimal people who are like I hate that guy right now that's that's an inflammatory move like I don't think any player hated Bubba no a lot of them like to muse a very friendly guy and he had a very So I wrote an article we're going to post towards the end of the season about Coach Bobo been talking a lot of others are coming yeah it's ready to. Continue but it's still best thing he's done is culture and scouting the culture is huge something you mentioned a lot when see if he was actually kind of good in the beginning of his career is whoever plays the hardest to practice the hardest plays right that's a very healthy mindset to bring to a team. It doesn't matter if you're a senior who started every game no you're not a regular that if you're not going to sing the freshman is going yeah that which is awesome that's that every player wants that because if you're a senior you know and I got this job on merit Yeah and if you're a freshman year knowing I didn't get into the game yeah if I do my due diligence guy studies till I hope yeah I study film I go to workouts and I try my hardest I can get in the game as a freshman you can't do that everywhere now and that's really really healthy so if the culture dips even a little bit since you already have a little bit of a problem with giving up you know after a big play a big call of a big score or whatever it was that culture dips a little bit it's getting into a critical area where there's going to need to be like a clean house of coaching or something because the culture as good as it was with Bobo was still a little bit of an issue I I want to see how recruits now because it's going to be interesting I don't know that was one of the complaints ledge to get him. It will be interesting to see if you can pull these kind of I'd never expect a 5 star to come here after 4 stars or a stretch so I'm hoping for like a lot of good 3 stars coming out of high school straight up like I'm just trying to be realistic here I don't whenever I get a 5 star 5 star wide receiver you though even even though we are good at making good at making receivers there are schools who are better right like a 5 star receiver why we don't go to l.s.e. Right now because you know what you are Alabama Yeah but if this was wide receiver you but under Bobo So if you're coming wide receiver coach is not here anymore right if you are you know both of those pieces gone. Do I really want to go there when I could go somewhere safer and correct. Correct me if I'm wrong work Preston Williams and Warren Jackson's transfers. I don't know about where in Jacksonville Preston Williams was I think I believe or attacked him Warren Jackson or Jackson Yeah yeah I think Preston Williams was to find I think Preston Williams definitely was from Tennessee one thing that Bubba did very well was recruit from places like like Georgia. From the South you have the southeast primarily somewhere that he was as you see if you want is a really really really hard time scouting down there especially because one if you're a great athlete from the South why wouldn't you go to an f.c.c. School go to a great. 2. Into why would you come to a school so far away right that has no connection to you whatsoever and isn't even a guarantee to be right if you're going to go far away why wouldn't you go if you wanted to be right why would you go to Boise right right like it's tough to convince seal the players California or something like that. So that if you loses that production I like half the teams from Georgia Yeah Michael gallop one of the best players to play at c.s.u. In the last decade yeah from Georgia if you see if you lose is that that poll Yeah that poll the flow of players coming in from that area it's going to really hurt Boston doesn't have as good a football now like the fans are great but that's not where the players come no players come from the South California Texas and the south yet they come from somewhere up by as Michigan or Oregon or you've got to go recruit the middle of the Midwest which is totally tough as in we don't really root for because it's you know 100 miles between towns like wasn't recruits Midwest right like their whole team is from this guy every every town in the south has some small town school with a big name player versus in you know if you're driving through Kansas you're driving 8 hours to see 3 guys yeah it's just not worth it that so that's going to be that's going to the biggest kind of step is how does this guy recruit I mean what what I'm going to take a wild guess is he might he's been trying to go recruit through his networks probably in Florida because of his connection probably I mean that is a decade ago from a time ago but he still but he still might have some There now my say in Florida's kids are not good because they're they have good lot of good flora players there's a lot of great Florida high school football players are you know one of the best States contrie when it comes high school football but like you said the recruiting is going to be the thing where you're going to get this program to go to go where it needs to go and I just I'm just. Questioning how he's going to do that with his rich because I got ne like there's not many there's not there's no high school powerhouses up there not not what they're good at not a good basketball a playoff basketball no doubt but absolutely what we're going to take a quick break now when we come back we're going to come back for our final segment of 2900 on the Ramblers we're going to do the chip Trump Well I'm going to restrict it we cannot use Joe Parker or Jim adagio Steve and Jim whatever. You know we cannot use either of them for the chance or the chump but we do have to use a c.s.u. Or former c.s.u. Player or coach that's not Bobo. Tune in in just about 4 or 5 minutes to find out who people want will be. There not it and. Always will bring you. 11. 11. And you're listening to 90.5 K.C.'s you for. And. You can maybe we're talking about getting it. I'm totally embarrassed and totally saying. That if. You can't make that bush bush league take drugs did it ever get. What's probably what is the sports world come to an Ok I'm going to take matters into my own head you have got an uphill battle. Ladies and gentlemen it's time for the champ. And welcome back to k c s use the Ramblers it's time for the champ champ Well I'm Nick Baker joined by Corey Odom that's me Dixon Lawson I was going to. See you after. The clarifying cardinal the putting this out there Penguin the fighting pheasant showing them it was is he just did that I'll do this what I want to. Do this is going to I love it I love it. But want to want to while woodpecker. Showing that's that's why it was for the penguins waddle waddle I did. That just completely. To have the champ jump all for those of you who don't know how it works is a longstanding classic segment of ramblers where you pick a champ or a chump someone who's done something this is a special edition for all the 2900 c.s.u. Sports someone has done something in c.s. You sports that has made them a champ or chum fairly self-explanatory you know I'm going to started off with Preston Williams who I was going to name as a chump before the season went under way because I didn't think he should have declared for the draft yet a lot of issues I sit next to the scouts in the in the press box I've seen the reports and they were he's a little bit to turn around if she doesn't have personalities too high and he drops a lot of open passes we have for being in n.f.l. Receiver so so with all of that he could have stayed for another year. And probably gotten actually drafted but instead he declared didn't get drafted signs with the dolphins who preseason and through about half the season were the 1st team. But it's changed into it into a change because he worked hard he fixed those areas of his game I haven't seen anything about him being a diva in Miami where I haven't seen him drive I've seen him drop a couple pass you drop a cup but he looks a lot better he looks really good he was the definitive number one for a couple weeks and a starter for most of the weeks as an undrafted rookie up until he gets hurt I think he's coming back and he's playing a lot next year he's much and I'm rooting for him oh yeah you have to get a great story for even non-theists you didn't you know there's really going to love it you know I didn't see Europe so for me my Champ is going to train McBride He impressed me all season he was able to step up in whose absence it was Cam Butler. Was hurt and then when he came back just within the same so he's able to step up in that role and he played outstanding there was a couple of games where he was my key to the game if c.s.u. Is going to win and in all those games he came and performed he's a great blocker he can catch the pass you know he can make a little have a little bit of dynamic play and I believe it was against Air Force was that when he cut over the middle ran it for like you know 2530 yards able to score help you know kind of bring a momentum So overall I think it had a lot of great growth the season and you know when I got to kind of talk to him at the very end of the season the last press conference he just seems like a really good person out on the team so I you know best of luck to him and I have high hopes for his future really good mentality. Corey what you got all right it's time to bring this room down a little bit I got to chum for everyone. What I wanted to show is Padua Bryant and I think that he did all right a lot of times but it seemed like any time a game is on the line he was going to throw an interception it felt like that and as if that wasn't bad enough he is recorded on camera wearing a Philadelphia Eagles jacket like he. Did any worse so unable to clutch out some games for those of you who don't know Corey is a huge giants I hate the Eagles. Paid up so I couldn't go that games through a lot of receptions couldn't trust him really at all so that's a chump itself and. On top of it all. Well. It's on the law Ok so the bring the mood back I'll say no more time for someone to say mood for me one time. To bring the British back up I'm going to do it and I am going to my champ will be coach Tom Hilbert That's a great one. I really enjoyed even though I didn't get a chance to go to any of the games this year I did get to watch listen to a lot of them in the studio and.
