We have this area of low pressure really dominating much of the country today and from the south, we had some warmer temperatures with this. And that really means that most of this is in the form of rainfall. All the way from tokyo, even into parts of hokkaido including sappo sapporo, youve been seeing pretty heavy snow the last week now but a lot of this is going to be in the form of rain for now. As we look ahead through the next several hours, in fact, some of the precipitation is going to be tapering off into the tokyo area. Still stay cloudy, maybe some drizzle passing by through the rest of the day. Back toward the north, this front is actually going to pass by. Thats going to be kicking off some colder air to this area. This is the same storm system, by the way, that impacted italy earlier this week then moved into greece, Northern Areas of the Balkan Peninsula saw heavy snowfall. Now its actually bringing heavy snow across parts of turkey and down through syria. The big issue here is that especially around aleppo, a lot of people are without heating. Theres been a lot of infrastructure, quite significantly, over the past year now. Youre going to have temperatures in some of these areas dropping down to the Freezing Point. Hopefully everybody bears with this and gets through the overnight hours because its going to be a cold one out there. Highs will be in the midteens but still exceptionally chilly. Doesnt look like snowfall in this area but eastern areas of turkey looking at heavy snow at times even heading over toward saturday. Temperatures as well dropping below the Freezing Point in eastern turkey then with a low of minus 7 there by saturday. But definitely some rough conditions for a lot of people out there who dont need more rough weather out there. Take a look at whats going on across the rest of europe, though. We have been seeing a storm system diving in out of the scandinavian peninsula. Parts of poland, you could be seeing about 20, 25 centimeters of snowfall with this. Some gusty winds as well. Overall, though, Eastern Europe really on the chilly side. 3 just in warsaw. Stockholm at minus 1. Back toward the west, its so cold, at least sunny.
