Partly to blame Jack Callahan Fox News President Trump has reportedly acknowledged he may bear some responsibility for last week's violence at the Capitol to minority leader Kevin McCarthy says the president expressed the sentiment and it covers sation that he had McCarthy relaying that message to his fellow House Republicans on a call yesterday according to 2 sources familiar with that call Griff Jenkins reports the House will likely approve a resolution today pressing vice president pence and the cabinet would book the 25th Amendment to remove the president Mr Pence likely won't do that he met with the president at the White House yesterday tomorrow the House will vote on a single article of impeachment they likely have the votes for it to pass but without enough time remaining in his term for a Senate trial or law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz telling Fox's Hannity they probably don't care but they don't want to actually bring him to trial they just want to have the accusation hanging over him it would be like a prosecutor indicting somebody for a serious crime and saying we're not going to give you a trial where you can prove your innocence some Democrats are saying well we'll give him a trial but only after he's left office but there's no jurisdiction Congress doesn't have the power to try anybody unless they're in office 2 u.s. Elon Musk tweeting a lot of people are going to be super unhappy with West Coast high tech as the de facto arbiter of free speech charges Jacki of Banja has $204000.00 new coronavirus cases reported on Monday more than $1700.00 additional deaths blamed on the virus President elect Biden said to be pressuring his own team to administer a 1000000. By the way the Alabama college football champs defeating Ohio State and this. Of sports here's what's happening. President Donald Trump has acknowledged that he bears some blame for the capital riot that last week during this conversation with House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy the 2 sources are apparently say McCarthy relayed the president's sentiment on a call with the house g.o.p. Conference the riot left 5 people dead including one capitol police officer in that tragedy House Democrats introduced an impeachment resolution against President Trump on Monday for what they call incitement of an insurrection just days after the capitol riot saying he warrants impeachment trial and removal from office he's only got 8 more your days in office by the time they get all this together it'll be over and he'll be gone World Health Organization experts will begin their investigation in China into the origins of the corona virus pandemic but it is unclear at this time if they will visit will Han where the virus apparently was 1st detected the conservative social media network it's called parlor p a r l e r was forced offline Monday after Amazon warned the company would lose access in its servers for its failure to properly police violent Mylan content Let's check in with our expert on the Internet Lauren Weinstein Lauren what does this all mean with this company well what we're really dealing with are to enter related issues the 1st Amendment and the Communications Decency Act 230 as you and I have discussed before the 1st Amendment is widely misunderstood it fact it only applies to governmental actions against speech governmental it does not apply to non-governmental firms or other organizations so speaking now in general terms not in a specific case these firms are permitted to determine who they wish to serve and underwear . Conditions and in particular are permitted to make the determination that specific users are customers are leveraging the platforms for hate speech or speech that in the firm's view of sites violence on the firms are free to remove those users or customers from the firm services. This is obviously become particularly acute in the issue particularly acute issue with the wake of the recent violence of course now will also recall that President Trump unsuccessfully tried to force Congress to revoke c.d.a. Communications Decency Act Section 230 and there's a lot of misunderstanding about 230 as well it applies in this case also there seems to be a widespread belief that of 230 we're limited which is what the presenter wanted anyone could say anything they wanted to on social media firms couldn't invoke terms of use policies to moderate to bottom rate or otherwise control it or or to tell a service that they couldn't operate as soon as in the company under under discussion now but it fact the elimination of $230.00 would actually shut down vast amounts of speech of all kinds on the Internet shut it down because without the protections provided by $230.00 it would just be too risky for most for us to provide platforms for u.g.c. User generated content at all so the entire concept of written video other content created by users post comments whatever would almost certainly mostly be shut down or at least drastically curtails a rather than enhancing free speech eliminating to 30 would actually vastly reduced speech of all kind on the Internet so the bottom line especially with $230.00 is that it's really important to be careful what you wish for and why would Amazon be warning to the network partner Well the issue here is that Amazon has has that right you know as we have as I just discussed to say hey we are only willing to be involved with certain content certain companies that obey our Terms of Service and usually if you look at the Terms of Service of these firms they will say that you're not permitted to have hate speech violence violence speech and such so in this case Amazon made the determination that they didn't want to continue doing doing business this way. And that is and that is their right that is there's a right as Twitter dumped the president James Bond. Out in fact exactly the same issues are and can play there Twitter has policies against hate speech violence. Posts that can trigger violence all kinds of things like that now the issue that I have across the board here that I have discussed many times before actually is whether or not the firms have been really applying those terms of service in a diligent way and it can be argued that for example President Trump has been on Twitter for very very long time before as president for sure and Twitter has said that public figures had a special political public figures like like the national leaders of had a special privilege that they could stay with their accounts they wouldn't get tossed off for the kinds of posts that ordinary users would get tossed off for. But that's just a decision that Twitter has made in this case it appears that Twitter decided that this it got too far in the wake of what occurred and they decided that that special exception no longer applied and that's what led to what we say thank you Lauren you had a great perspective to the program that a part your Space X.'s cargo dragon from the International Space Station postponed because of weather in the splashdown zone off the east coast of Florida what else is going on in the skies it's time for Dr sky Steven Cade size Steven and all other George that we always begin with space and here we go with another great space that's doing Yeah that's a space launch system known as the s.l.s. And welcome back to coast to coast George don't worry with your doctor Darryl Jeffrey with us Dr Jeffrey is a functional nutritionist longevity expert who uses cutting edge nutrition to help uncover the root causes of inflammation in your body He's the founder of the mind program a former sugar addict himself turned health machine you knows firsthand what it takes to overcome adversity and challenges to your health Dr John for he is a 19 year board certified chiropractor and a certified to raw food chef Darryl wall come back how are you hey Joe is happy new year it's so great to be with you again looking forward to this and a great book Get off your sugar and yet the forward by Kelly Rippa How did you pull that off Kelly's awesome I've known her for years yes she wrote the forward of my 1st book I get off your outfit as well and you know I've been coaching her and she defines balance and she lived this she walks the walk and you know when and when I wrote the book and I was thinking about why I want to write the forward there was no one else that that I wanted to she was really the number one person because of who she is how she lives and you know overcoming her own issues with sugar cravings so it was very fitting and I was very honored and privileged to have a right the power to go and just in case people didn't hear you correctly the book was called Get off your ass it yeah right yes exactly perfect you know if you're acid perfect well tell me a little bit about you because you're a chiropractor by trade How did you get involved in all this nutritional and. Yeah I wasn't always into nutrition you know I've been in practice for you know 21 years now and back in the early days you know I was more of a straight guy or Proctor some of the Come into my office you know I'd adjust them they leave they come back a week later and I was kind of just doing that and not really getting much into nutrition but you know my own skeleton in the closet was my sugar addiction something that I was literally battling since as far back as I can remember I mean since I was 5 years old as far as my memory goes back and it was really just interesting because you know someone would come in and I would be saying you know you got avoid a sugar stop eating this and I will go in the back and I'll be the one eating it caramel bar iness crunch bar where I tell myself the shoemaker with no shoes you know is a walking contradiction and you know as the years started gaining so was my waistline to the point I was 42 pounds heavier than I was today you know I refused to buy a pig or clothes so I was literally leaning down to adjust one of my patients one day and my pants split right down the backside so needless to say it was an embarrassing moment and pain is a great motivator so I managed to escape that adjustment without them noticing what had happened put on a different pair of slacks but it was the straw that broke the camel's back you know and I realized that I had an issue that I was trying to to be by deprivation for so many years and I want to tell you that deprivation just doesn't work now there are few people that can get to where they want to go by deprivation but the problem is it's not sustainable it's not a lifestyle and yours truly not treating the underlying reasons why you crave sugar in the 1st place the deficiencies so I really just are to become a health investigator and I will look at you know the 5 percent of the patients in my practice that would walk in they had tons of energy they had glowing skin they were fit slept well all the good things that you really wanted on a regular basis and then there was the rest of the crowd I fit myself into the other 95 percent you know the ones that kind of live that Yo-Yo so. And I just started to look at the at this small group and say What are they doing what are they doing differently you know role modeling says success leads clues and it's true and I literally just started adding a green juice into my diet because I started learning about the alkaline diet and how green juice is so powerful for you for your health for your liver for your blood cleanses it detoxifies and it alkalis your body because it's got so many minerals and it's interesting because I didn't really understand the mineral sugar connection then within about 3 weeks my cravings were gone it was simply from adding a couple of green juices bouncing on a rebound or you know adding more greens into the die and you know at the time I wish to rent the eating which I'm calling it now and it's amazing I mean 3 weeks a lifelong addiction to sugar my cravings were gone and in about 3 and a half months my body dropped 42 pounds and the best part was I didn't do it by removing my deprivation and I think that's such an important thing to talk about now this time of year because here we are January you know and everyone you know or most people set their New Year's resolutions on the 1st but 4 days from now on the 15th the research shows that 92 percent of people are going to fail where the resolutions and the reason is that it's most of us based those resolutions on deprivation you know I've got to stop the sugar I got to go to the gym and again even though you might get you through the honeymoon phase those 1st couple weeks but it's not enough to sustain this as a lifestyle so you know I just started to ditch that mindset and with myself in the clients I was coaching I just started adding adding adding and it might take a little bit longer but here's the thing it sticks is last and over time the good will weigh the bad and that's kind of been my motto ever since and that's the way I coach my clients my patients and it works really well and they tend to appreciate it more because it's not really based on willpower it's more based on just you know a slow as. Which is much better for the psychology of the mind as well during How much sugar is too much well I mean the World Health Organization says that you shouldn't be having more than $6.00 to $9.00 teaspoons you know you look at the average American consumes a 130 pounds of sugar every single year you know the average adult consumes about 22 to 2080 spoons and children this is crazy mad a 3 year old a 6 year old that home the average child consumes $32.00 teaspoons of sugar a day we turn to Mars track eating it so that's a huge issue for how much sugar is let's say in a cookie. Cook it will depends on the cookie you know that that's the thing is that you can you can have 10 different cookies in front of you one can have no sugar but it can be loaded with artificial sweeteners you know so that's the thing I was with my family the other day I'm up in Connecticut where my brother lives and we went to this really cool store where they had all these different herbs and spices and teas and coffees and my sister in law was looking at one of their products there it was like a an almond coconut butter that they made from scratch and they were promoting as just like really health food and there was no sugar so as I start to look at it and read the ingredients there was like 10 ingredients on that list that you couldn't even pronounce and I always say if you can't pronounce it you sure as heck can't digest it don't even bother Exactly exactly so you've got to really look at like what's on those labels and you know the less ingredients the better the better you can understand the better because the reality is that you can have 10 different products and they can have all completely different sugar amounts you know some can have a huge amount some can have none but just because there's no sugar in there doesn't mean that it's a better option because again what a lot of these companies are doing now is that they're replacing the sugar because everybody's learning while we know sugar is bad for you and they're just swapping it with an artificial sweetener that's just as bad probably even worse why is sugar so bad for you overall sugar is bad because it's its acid you know we talked about that in the 1st book Sugar is Citic it's it's not even a food I call this America's drug of choice and acid equals inflammation when you consume sugar in metabolize into something called lactic acid and think about that just from a commonsense standpoint acid is so corrosive it could literally burn a hole through metal So when you ingest these foods metabolize them think about what that's doing to your digestive system the micro biome to your cardiovascular system it's mega inflammatory to your cardiovascular system what about your brain. I mean I mean we're dealing now with dementia all timers I mean growing up I don't remember all timers but now there's some research showing it's the 4th cause of death and what they're saying is that they're calling it's hype 3 diabetes which is diabetes of the brain it's in one resistance of the brain and that's the worst that's the worst you can get I guess is that the worse you can get an old timer's parallels inflammation that's we have to understand what's the one of the primary causes of inflammation of the brain is sugar you know when you have too much sugar hang around in your blood in your body what happens is it latches onto protein that's another thing protein is an essential nutrient we need it but the average Americans consuming 5 times the amount of protein and here's the crazy thing you could have no sugar in your diet at all eating super clean but if you're eating choom Uche protein actually will turn to sugar in your body in your liver via a process called Gluco New Genesis So even something like eating chew much protein can cause that So if you have too much sugar hanging around and too much protein or too many unhealthy fats the 2 basically latch together and once they latch together that can't be undone It's like trying to to an boil all hard boiled egg it's just you can't do it and what happens is there there's these like plaques and they plaque in the brain they plaque in your blood vessel wall so they can they can cause the mention if it's in the brain in your blood vessels that can cause high blood pressure in your kidneys they can cause kidney stones so again it's just so acidic it's inflammatory and it ages us it ages us prematurely and you know leading into that you talk about the Mediterranean diet how it actually add 6 years back to your life that's what we call your biological age so your chronological age is your true number I'm 45 in my office here in New York City we actually test people's biological age which we call you're at the genetic age it's not about your genes it's about what we call you're at the genetics sure it's really about your lifestyle choices and you can really measure that So you know we all our age. Aging But the question is are you aging faster than your to age or are you turning back the clock on Aging and it all has to do whether you're stress eating or stress eating when we come back Dr Darrell we are going to talk about his book Get off your sugar which just came out next hour we'll take your phone calls with. Any sugar is bad for you you know the reality is that sugar is not an essential fuel like protein and fat is the body doesn't eat sugar you know there are some nutritionists and doctors will say that your body needs sugar the brain needs sugar and it's just not true the brain will burn off the sugar 1st because it wants to get rid of it but the body doesn't rely on sugar in fact your body so smart it wouldn't sugar are really designed for it's for fight or flight if you look at back at the caveman days if there is a saver to Tiger you don't want to be burning fat as your primary source of fuel because you'll be lunch for that Tiger you want to burn sugar because sugar will burn quickly just like if I was to light up a tissue it's gone and then what happens is you can get at a danger and then the body should be able to go back to its will be call metabolic flexibility where it can choose to burn sugar or burn fat in fact there's 5 hormones in the body designed to actually mobilize and create sugar when you need it there's only one hormone that will lower sugar that insulin an influence on even the hormones the lower sugar it's more of a transport hormone to get sugar it gets basically energy into the cell so the body really doesn't need sugar we don't need it we don't use it it makes us inflamed and makes us store fat in the body and as I said before make this age prematurely so we got a digital listen a little bit it's not about saying you can't have it all but you can't make the sugar 90 percent 80 percent the diet I think that's the takeaway that's really about balance absolutely and let's talk a little bit about diabetes why is it so bad in terms of you could lose your legs you could go blind it's got all these afflictions tied into it why is it so bad you know because there's associate in the Rapa sees with diabetes and that's what really causes those things that you just mentioned you know diabetes you know what a lot of the doctors are doing is they're looking to make that blood sugar number one number so let's say they want to be at 80 or whatever the number that they do so they'll give you a medication now the. Interesting thing about the medications that they give every single diabetes medication except for one adds insulin into the body now that's a big problem now the goal is going to be itchy because it's going to stabilize your blood sugar so every time you check your blood sugar or the doctor checks it it's it's let's say 80 All right you're doing a great job keep on doing what you're doing but the problem is they're the insulin resistance which means to much insulin because you've had too much sugar over the years that's the problem so they're adding a drug that adds more insulin into the body and the problem with insulin is that number one it's our fast storing hormone it makes your body retain fat not just in the tissues but also in the cardiovascular system but it's also doing what we call cellular replication another words it can increase your chances of getting cancer because you're dumping more insulin into the body and there's so much research showing that the more insulin you dump into your blood over the course of your lifetime is less in your lung Jevon which means you die sooner So yes you've got to pay attention to the signs but when there is diabetes or pre-diabetes you have to go deeper down and really start to investigate what that underlying cause you know you could just take a drug has stable blood sugar and keep on putting sugar into the body but you didn't change the reason why it started in the 1st place you gotta start with the diet it's not about the meds and supplements unless you're in a crisis situation listen we have the best crisis care system in the world but it's not a health care system it's a sick care system we have to go deeper and start to really clean up our diets and once we do that and we move away from stress eating start to put more of these nutritious alkalizing strengthening foods into the body you're going to see everything start to change so you start to add these things in and just go at your own pace let this fit into your lifestyle not the other way around because you want this thing to last for the long haul one of the popular diabetes medicines these days is metformin. Does that work well yeah listen medications do work well that's that's why they're so popular you know if you if you take a medication it's going to do is designed to do but the problem is George it's not addressing the underlying cause like I just mentioned you know it's like if I'm in my apartment here in New York City and there's a fire what medications do is they basically the basic get rid of the symptoms so it's like stepping the wire to the alarm so I'm sleeping in my apartment I don't hear the alarm but guess what the fire still raging in the body and eventually that fire is going to take you out so we have to think outside the box we've got to really go farther upstream and say Ok Why is this happening our body why is that symptom happening and by the time you get a symptom we have to understand it's like a tooth ache if someone wakes up with a tooth ache tomorrow morning today they're to felt fine but was that chew through really healthy no way dental research shows it takes at least 15 months of the stacking of all the dental decay to actually create that to take it when you feel that you think it's like the end of the body saying hey wake up you've got to do something we're going to lose this tooth it's no different with any other part of the body the question is are you listening are you paying attention to those warning signs that your body is giving you now when you say people are addicted to sugar does that mean they're addicted to spoonfuls of sugar in their food sprinkling it around or are they addicted to donuts and candy and things like that yeah I mean that's a great question because what you just said reminds me of myself I talked about this and get off your sugar I remember growing up and I was I was eating Honey Nut Cheerios was one of one of my favorite breakfast cereals as a kid and for every spoonful of Cheerios I will literally have a spoonful of white sugar one to one room all you know it was it was it well that's bad that it was bad that by the way that was just the tip of the iceberg I mean that's how bad my diction was but the thing is it's it's that's not the sugar. Or that is really taking people out it's the sugar that snuck its way into the diet it's the food that people don't suspect something like grains I always say you know a lot of people have breakfast for dinner but people are unknowingly having dessert for breakfast you know they're starting off their day with a Boston cream don't a muffin or a Danish or they're having Europe or waffles or they're having coffee loaded with sugar and fake cream or Basically people are having cake and a milkshake for breakfast what goes on the sugar and everything is under Yeah I mean when you look at grocery stores 74 percent of the foods that you find we can save quote unquote foods that you find in there have sugar in there and here's where they get us by the way there's over 62 different names for sugar so on a label you're not going really just see sugar anymore because what happens under the other ingredients whatever occupied that 1st base is the highest quantity of that ingredient so what these manufacturers are doing very very intelligently on their behalf they're taking some They're taking like 5 different names or sugar so they're doing like maltose in sucrose and dextrose them out the dextrin things that you would even pop possibly think of sugar but when you add them all up guess what's the number one ingredient it's the sugar So yes it is stuck its way into our diets hiding in so many of these so-called health foods and I think those are the ones that are getting people because even when people are making better choices which I absolutely encourage that's one of my mottos it's good better best so whatever you're doing with your food choices now doesn't have to be perfect just try to make that a better choice and if you make that a better choice you're going to make your body healthier but again when you have all these kind of hidden sources of sugar in there it becomes hard for people so just know that anything that ends in o.c. Equals sugar and sugar equals acid in acid equals inflammation so you know we've got to become label readers and just you know start to really look at what's on the back of the label and you know it's. Interesting we talk about that in the book How to in a very easy way just decipher what the label means but just start to look at like the key things like what's the sugar level what's the carb level and then just start to read some of those names and there and before you know it you know you'll understand what is in there and what shouldn't be in there how many grams of sugar a day is too much well again like $6.00 to $9.00 teaspoons of sugar is that kind of zone where we want to be in but what would that be in terms of grams so grams would be once he's 20 calls for grams Ok I kind of split up into 3 different zones and this is really helpful for people that are looking to lose way I look at next car number because that's really a number that people are learning more about especially now with how popular the key to genic diet is so you really want to just make sure that if you're doing intermittent fasting or you're looking to really lose the say a pound a day you know it's a pretty aggressive thing but it's doable you want to keep your neck carbs under 50 grams per day and it's doable if you want to lose $1.00 to $2.00 pounds a week then you want to aim to have that next car fall in that zone of 50 to a 100 grams if you want to sustain a healthy weight that you're at right now and keep inflammation levels low you want to be in that 100 to 150 grams so those are the 3 zones so under 50 grams you're going to have accelerated fat burning you're going to be getting it to that kid genic stay where your body's burning fat for fuel and that's like the key area for him in fasting 50 to 100 grams you're going to lose weight going to be a little slower but it's going to be a nice weight loss sown you're going to be losing one to 2 pounds per week and if you want to good maintenance zone 100 to 150 grams once you go above that number you're adding on the pounds and just as important you're adding more inflammation into yourself and you're not saying to people eliminate sugar entirely you're saying reduce it. Yeah and I'm not even saying that because even for me when I was addicted to sugar I tried that motto for so many times over it got me 2 weeks Georgia got me 2 months it never stuck so yes you can do that but I think the better approach is to start to add focused like the positive focus on the good things like these are the foods I want to eat more of so you know if you want to just add one thing make it a green juice you know without the fruit that's the key thing a lot of people will put fruiting green juices and smoothies and that's loaded with sugar loaded with fruit toast now it's better than the refined sugar but nonetheless it's still sugar so I always say you know start your morning with a green juice it's so powerful That's what I started with and now if you're an overachiever you can add more than that but it's definitely not about deprivation it doesn't work I find that when you start to add add do you focus on that side the focus on positive not depriving then your body is going to be more attuned to losing weight you're going to be sticking with us for longer and I think it's better for your mindset because you're not focused on you know on this is painful this is something had to remove you know for some people they can do that but most people it just doesn't work in the long term our founder and Colvin Darryl that I've lost weight I mean eating less I'm working out but I've lost weight and most people haven't gained haven't say Yeah I mean congratulations you know seize the moment it's what's been happening there so much uncertainty with coded You know there's obviously so many bad things but there were some silver linings and still are you know you've got to think about it's been nearly a year since this thing's been going on and when this happened we were blindsided by this right I mean no one knew that this thing was coming no not like this not like this and what happened is is you know especially here in the early you know in that March month here in New York City it was pretty crazy but what happened is that we had this quarantine slapped on us and then what happened most of us crawled into our foxholes and we. Didn't come out we started stress eating and they even gave a name for it they're calling it the coke at 19 the quarantine 15 in terms of the weight that people gain but why did people gain weight because they were eating more sugar they were stress eating and it's interesting because the people like you you know that came into this who were who were eating healthy who were managing their stress better you know they were exercising had good mindset they tended to fare a little bit better so I think that's one of the big takeaways that I'm teaching a lot of my clients is anticipation is one of the most important things for everything in life especially your health I'm going to tell you that we're dealing with covered that night 19 right now we had the elections we had the hollow holidays it was the perfect storm right but we don't know what the future stories for us but what I can tell you is that there will be more stress so here's my point let's be ready for it this time start now start today start in this moment start to do these things that we're talking about so that when it comes your body your mind will be ready to handle the stress that's thrown at it because the reality is it's not about the stress in your life it's how you're managing the stress in your life what is strength eating and you've got that as part of your subtitle to get off your sugar Yeah well we all know what stress eating is I mean it's our urge to soothe our physical bodies and our minds with food but here's the problem when we're under stress the 1st thing we reach for his usually the worst thing that we reach for things like fast food or junk food or what we call comfort food and not only won't any of that food relieve your your mental stress your physical stress it's going to actually increase it because comfort food it might make you feel better in that moment that you think gratification maybe but the problem is it had those foods there is Citic they're driving up inflammation and they're only stressing out your system more now most people assume that the alternative to stress eating is to not eat but not eating is not an option because we have to eat right so. The solution is to rent eating and this concept is pretty simple at meal times for eating 3 meals a day or if you're intermittent fasting you're eating 2 meals a day or you're having a snack whenever you feel hungry you want to eat the foods that strengthen your body foods that strengthen your energy strengthen your immune system to give you that immune resilience strength strengthen your brain strengthen your cardiovascular system those are the things that we got to focus on and here's the best part it's as delicious as it's nutritious these foods are packed with flavor as they're packed with the same nutrients they're all high in Aukland in the which is key that's one of my big things and that's why we also say that strength eating is about eating acid kicking food so that's the thing we've got to just start to add more of those who didn't and you'll see a Replace the bad stuff now you mentioned fruit I happen to love for and I love a bowl full of raspberries blueberries blackberries in the morning with a little you know whipped cream on top of it not a lot just a little bit. What do you think I think how you're doing it is spot on because here's what you're doing and this is what I tell people so the berries on the blueberries I call them brain berries are so good for brain system health you know but those fruits that you're talking about do have some sugar they do her fruit those however but it's natural stuff right yeah it's natural it's packed with nature is packed with fiber so that's why the worst thing we could do is drink fruit juice so something like our in juice would be something that I say you got avoid like the plague it's the worst thing in fact calorie for calorie orange juice has more fruit toast then cola So you've got avoid the fruit juices because basically you're just drinking the sugar water you took out what like you just mentioned George the innate intelligence that nature put into it the fiber but what I like what you did with your berries is that you added a festive something like an organic whipping cream or what I like even better is a big scoop of coconut butter and I'll die some some mince and I'll put that on top of the berries it's amazing because now you get all the upside and benefit of all the the healthy nutrients in the fruit that you're eating but what the fats do is they slow down how those sugars get metabolize so it prevents your insulin from spiking you remember I said before and I'm sure you don't want to be dumping the influence of the blood that's going to make us gain weight it's going to a just prematurely it's going to create inflammation so just by combining a healthy fats with you're having a banana 25 percent sugar right so a better option would be an avocado But if you still love bananas have a little ramen butter with us so now you have that healthy fat in the nut butter which slows down how those sugars get metabolized now your body's getting the benefit of the minerals in the fruit and you don't have that downside that we're talking about with the insulin spiking I love a couple spoonfuls of day of crunchy peanut butter. Of carrying them on and slap me around that's suck about peanut butter is one of the as I call it one of the on usual suspects because as a kid I used to love it but here's. The problem with peanut butter peanut butter by the ways actually worse than peanuts I'll tell you why in a 2nd but peanut butter is loaded with fungus called aflatoxin it's actually a cancer causing fungus in fact I talked about this in the book Green we have there are over 21 different forms of aflatoxin by the way Quorn has 25 Hold on for a 2nd girl we're at the break we're going to come back we'll talk about peanut butter and we'll open up the phone lines folks jump onboard next on coast to coast am always on your phone then you'll be happy to know the Coast website is now optimized for mobile users just point your i Phone or Android browser to coast to coast am dot com and enjoy. So again the problem with peanut butter is that it has 21 different forms of aflatoxin which is a fungus that can actually cause cancer so it's a dangerous thing and here's the thing is that they take all the cocktail peanuts which you know you're going to basically see that have the less mold on them they use those for the cocktail peanuts they take the peanuts that have more molds and they mash those up into the peanut butter because the I was you don't want to see those in the cocktail peanut So the peanut butter has actually more of the fungus and the ones that you want to avoid So what I try to encourage people do is instead of having peanut butter I know you love it try maybe some ramen butter some macadamia nut butter you know coconut butter cow butter that's a better option that's not going to have the downside you know after Casey the American prophet before he died said that if you eat a couple Rawlins a day you will be able to prevent cancer what do you think of that I think it's a very powerful statement you know it's a a Raman is a very strong rent food you know you don't want to be dry roasted because the dry roasted almond actually turn to trans fats and they actually cause inflammation but Rahman's it's a healthy fat we have to understand there are fats that heal and there's fats that kill Rahman's are not just little bit nutrients and minerals but they have fiber as well and as a healthy fat it's going to help your body burn fat we have to stop fearing the fat is such an important thing if we want to lose weight and get healthier and bring down the inflammation having fat as part of your diet is essential if 2 major macros that we need to be more of are more of the greens and more of the healthy fats What do you think of the natural sweetener stevia I love stevia you know pre-strike to make sure it's organic is if it's not organic it's going to have a lot of different chemicals in it but Stevia is great because it's not going to have that spiking effect on your insulin because there is no sugar but you still get the sweet taste Now one little caviar when you. At that sweet taste in the brain can sometimes be fooled because the brain says wait a minute I said sweet but I never got the sugar so sometimes you know people that are having cravings they might win that battle they're in the moment but they might crave carbs a little bit later on so just be mindful of that and I think it's a great swap so I love stevia I love monk fruit is another healthy sweetener that you can use instead of the artificial sweeteners which you have to stay away from the artificial sweeteners are just very dangerous for your body tell me about sugar a d h d n kids. Is such an important thing you know I see a lot of kids with a.d.d. And a d h d You know my brother dealt with this for many years and I remember the doctor saying it was a chemical imbalance in his brain but they can never tell us what it was now I understand it's the inflammation you know it's like sugar is so acidic as we were talking about earlier it goes to the brain inflames your brain and what happens is we just can't think straight when you have that chemical imbalance that's caused by sugar The other thing that we have to be careful of is having those dangerous Omega 6 fats so those are fat that come from things like soybean oil and safflower and corn and soy because those also will cause inflammation of the brain just like sugar well and they can lead to things like 80 and 80 h.d. But I'm telling you you start to just clean up the diets of these children and you'll be amazed they might be hot for the 1st 2 weeks Don't get me wrong but you've got to keep going don't give up it's been shown in the research you have to sometimes try 16 times before the child will actually start a new food so you just got to you know make it a game you've got to be role models you can't be eating sugar yourself and expect your kids to be any different but once your kids start eating a cleaner strengthening diet you'll be amazed at the changes you see in their focus their sleep how they're doing in school it's really just incredible Dural What about dementia and Alzheimer's. Yeah I mean dementia it's it's one of those things that you know there was one article I read a couple years back showing that everybody over the age of 28 is experiencing some form of dementia in one way or other and or another you know brain fog processing speed memory capacity we actually measure these things in our our wellness center here in New York City but again as I mentioned before dementia and all timers parallels inflammation of the brain so we have to do things that are going to counter the inflammation obviously we have to start with hydration is so important and things like hygiene water very good for dementia but omega 3 fats if I look at the top 3 neuro protectors of the brain number one is magnesium it's actually even more important than fish oil move make a 3 fats so we have to create those minerals in the diet that are loaded with magnesium and by the way the reason why we crave sugar is a magnesium deficiency so things like green juice is green smoothies green soups adding more salads into your diet more steamed greens sauteed greens those are loaded with chlorophyll and the reason why chlorophyll so powerful is it's high in minerals you can also get magnesium by taking an s. And salts bath you can put magnesium lotion on your skin I like everything to do when I wake up and I take a scoop of our green powder I throw that on the glass of water and literally within 30 seconds I have 5 servings of organic greens that are rich in minerals the 2nd neuroprotective the brain is omega 3 fatty acids so if you're an adult I really recommend the average adult takes about $3000.00 milligrams of Omega 3 s. Every single day because those healthy fats are going to basically nearest the brain and their lower inflammation the 3rd nerve protector are b. Vitamins so if you're having any issues with memory capacity or brain issues brain fog those are things that you should be focusing more on let's go to the phones Mike and Connecticut to get a start and a Michael go ahead sure. Are you guys there over there Ok Mike and Mike are the media. Good to meet you just turn shopping into a full time job. I have to bring my reading glasses I could be in the store for 4 to 6 hours I have to be writing a scooter you know stay on my feet I hear yeah I hear you but I remember it just just start easy start simple doesn't have to be a huge huge change change could be one thing so just take that mindset just adding it could be just a few things so it doesn't have a far stretch to changing your diet a question about a supplement I could take my I just lost my mode of dementia I lost my dad 4 years ago for the same thing but what can I take like. A vitamin I can pop with my other supplements in the morning or at night you mention magnesium Yeah I am so sorry for your loss I lost my godmother to all timers it's just a really sad thing so my condolences but yeah we have a mineral mineral a well balanced mineral supplement we have a great one called acid kicking minerals on our site is a really good one I take it before I go to sleep because during the middle of the night is when your body has the most inflammation because that's when the body's really just kind of resetting and just getting rid of all the toxins from the day so I'll take a little scoop of our mineral powder in a little bit of water right before I go to bed takes 30 seconds is very easy and then omega 3 s. Is so important for preventing dementia it's been shown that omega 3 deficiency can cause $96000.00 premature deaths in our country every year so taking a fish oil supplement those 2 things if you want to start with 2 things only that would be number one and number 2 on the list and even children need these 2 guys it's really important for children to get the minerals and those omega 3 fats are going to see are there any studies that show offs what people are deficient in with dementia and Alzheimer's and 6 like that yes absolutely as I just mentioned Magnesium is at the top of the list because magnesium is what your nervous. Needs You know it's what your brain needs omega 3 s. Something from literally from utero I mean it's the most important nutrient for someone that's pregnant to take because that's what the baby needs for the formation of the brain but once the baby is born we still need it as children all the way as we are adults and what happens over the years we're getting less of these healthy fats like the omega 3 fats which you find in wild caught fish like salmon herring and travel and things like that also in the egg yolks you get the d.h. a Which is part of the omega 3 s. As well but we get less of those healthy fats and we're getting more of those inflammatory fats in and here's the thing is that the brain competes if you have like a little bit a little bit of the omega 3 fats and you have 20 times more of these unhealthy Omega 6 fast the ones that cause inflammation of the brain that will cause dementia it's an imbalance ratio so what's going to win when you're competing for the enzymes the bad ones every single time we have a test on a website that can actually measure this it's called the omega 3 acid inflammation test so you want to start to add more of those healthy foods and look at those other ingredients like corn like soy and then those oils like soybean oil and safflower oil that you'll find in processed foods and you want to start to try to minimize those so we add more of the good we less of the bad and that ratio I was talking about starts to get more balance when that ratio gets more balance your brain literally heals it's never too late for the brain to heal for the brain to have less inflammation Bunder Stannis is that those things we're talking about are all driven by increasing levels of inflammation so what do we need to do we have to lower the inflammation and we do it by the supplements I was talking about but also by eating some of these more strengthening foods 1st time caller Mark in the Howell Michigan Hey Mark welcome I used to have a place near follower ville. That's really close shuras Go ahead Mark just a couple of quick points I'm I've been doing the Kido and kind of kind of a carnival or diet for 18 months I was a solid type 2 for. 10 to 15 years anyway and i'm bad I've down 60 pounds I weigh what I could for college and I consume really none of the omega 6 s. Fast anymore pretty much butter and olive oil are pretty much the primary fats that . I eat a lot of venison my main source of protein. But a couple things number one doctors are not in tuned with looking at fasting insulin levels I've had almost had to argue with my own doctor to have him test me for this I'm finally down after 18 months to a level of $8.00 which I'm close to where you want to be and then. I'd like thought I'm still on metformin side I'd like you to speak to metformin how that works I think that is the one drug you said that is. Acceptable. It's not trying to force your insulin down it is working on your insulin resistance I'm still insulin resistant but I'm a follows and percent better than I was 18 months ago and still fighting in Iraq at the Although it's it's a lot better put neuropathy and. Basically you know the other thing I'd say with doctors is that I've inspired a couple of friends of mine are also diabetic and they're kind of following the way I. Saw my success and it's like they want him you know emulate fast and. Their their own doctors are refusing to give them fasting and some test because they absolutely just do not even understand what to look at they think high amps one my own doctor said well you don't make insulin like you did when you're 20 Well there he is wrong. I can make insulin like I was 20 fetch the problem when you think of that Darryl 1st Mark congratulations 60 pounds is absolutely incredible and I want to ask you for all the lifestyle choices that you made. Are you doing intermittent fasting at all or any sort of fasting you know I only 2 meals basically lunch and dinner rarely breakfast if I eat breakfast at all it's just maybe sausage and eggs bacon and eggs but probably 9095 percent a day if I eat no breakfast whatsoever Yeah I had a feeling and that's phenomenal and remember guys this is the line it's not about eating less it's about eating less often so when you're eating the lunch and dinner you've got to make sure that you're getting the proper nutrients in the calories in also me is important and like it that's why if you're eating animal protein that's fine but we don't want to have too much meat so we've got to make sure that we're not doing too much so $2.00 to $4.00 ounces per meal would be the right number because once you go over that your body actually is going to turn into sugar and also let's make sure which do our best that the quality that we're going after is grass fed because if it's not grass fed it's going to be fed with corn and soy and other things like you know g m O's and obviously antibiotics so the quality is just as important as the quantity and I agree is that we have to look more at these numbers I always say you know you inspect what you respect or you respect what you inspect and it works both ways so looking at those numbers to give you a gauge it gives you basically a baseline of where you're at when you started and your numbers all improving so what I would say is you know you stay on the medication right now because you still have a little bit more to go you've made tremendous improvements So again congratulations but what you want to do is keep on making these diet changes keep on getting rid of the the deficiencies because that doesn't happen overnight and always remember you can't. You're way out of a bad diet and you can't medicate your way out of bed diet so the goal for you Mark would be at some point to be able to get off the metformin so your body doesn't rely on that and you can definitely achieve that because as you give your body more of these foods and there's less sugar in the system then your body and that influence distance will start to reset itself and then the body's not going to have to rely on the metformin like it's been to this point so I would say just keep on charging ahead I think you're doing great as I say you're kicking acid and don't stop because you're on your way to being off of the drugs and once that happens game changer how important Darryl is hydration. Well I think it's it's it's critical you know in the 1st book which we talked about a few years ago is the 2nd step the 1st one was breathing but I always say the solution to pollution is dilution 90 percent of Americans are actually dehydrated and we need I mean think of this from a commonsense standpoint when the plant will swell is the 1st thing that comes to our mind now lack of water Yep a most doctors will say give a drug give us surgery right now if that plant was going to die give it drugs give us surgery that's what I was saying before we have the best price care in the system but again give it sunlight given nutrition give it water take the toxins out of the soil and when you do those things your the plant is going to heal itself and we're no different so I think that's one of the things that if you're craving sugar just start drinking more water because thirst and hunger does go to the same part of the brain so many times as George was to say we just r d r d hydrated so water would be like what I call neutral adding lemon to the water would be a better option let me give you those nutrients it out collides it but adding a green juice powder to the water that kicks acid So again good better best which is always try to make a little bit of a better choice but I'm a big proponent of more water and you want to miss throughout the entire day gasoline's with us in Alberta Canada hi Kathleen thanks for calling hoping I'll get a question about alcohol I was told that. Somebody that it doesn't have a lot of sugar in it but I was I'm thinking that it does have a lot of sugar in it that's what my doctor told me and how do you figure out the sugar content between like an ounce of like a high ball. Versus like 14 percent wine or a tree croissant there. Well it should it's just a great question as well as one of the top questions I get by the way is what's about what is the deal with alcohol and some have more sugar than others and you know something like wine will have more sugar so I always Again use a good better best mentality so something like beer would be I would say probably the worst alcohol you could put into the body because it's a ferment did grain we have to avoid the grains grains are going to spike your blood sugar just as much as regular processed sugar well plus grains can all become contaminated with fungus so we stay away from the beer for possible wine would be a better choice your best choice is going to be something like a it's a Keela or a grain free Voc So you want to go with the grain free vodkas it's just going to be a much much better choice but you can just look at the labels when you buy them and you look at the carbohydrate numbers and the sugar numbers and that should give you the information that you're looking for is this an epidemic in terms of high sugar content and people. It is it is an epidemic I always say sugar is America's drug of choice we don't think of it as a drug kind of similar to the cigarette thing but it is a huge epidemic not just for us but also for our children it is if you look at the last 50 to 70 years you know back in the sixty's the the sugar industry paid off 3 Harvard scientists to actually manipulate the studies showing that fat was the problem so that's really why we've seen no fat less fat 0 fat over these last 50 to 70 years in all the products that we see in the grocery store because here's what happened when they took the fat out the food tasted like cardboard So what do they do in return they added sugar exactly Stay with us Darryl we're going to come back in the wrap things up with final calls on coast to coast am Don't forget to watch our t.v. And welcome back to our final segment Darrell Geoffrey with us we're talking about his book Get off your sugar just came out word of people get your book Derrill you can find on the website which is get off your at it dot com or at Amazon super sign copies can they get them from you. Yet they want when they can give our office a call here in New York City we can definitely do that for them for sure super we're going to take some final culture for you. So as you look at this entire issue this entire issue you are an addict Kelly Rippa she was addicted to sugar too wasn't she yes she had a tremendous craving she talked about that in the forward and she talked about on the show the other day Has she lost much weight because of getting off sugar no she was she was always very fit she never needed to lose weight but you know that's even more dangerous when someone is fed or doesn't because fat is a buffer fat actually protects acidity in the body so that can actually be more dangerous for somebody but you know cravings can happen in so many different forms and fashions and you know just by starting to as you do some bio hacks into the the system and adding different foods it's amazing how you can get rid of those cravings in a very short period of time final calls Joe on Long Island New York a just of go ahead I got a 2 parter and then I want to ask you about the history but 1st Top of the question on sugars I had read that. It can damage the telomeres. Of your d.n.a. Strands I believe and that contributes to premature aging and I look at aspartame and I read that this wise guy Donal Ronstadt all the former defense secretary push this through with his farm should've been approved and they say that for example airline pilots are not allowed to drink diet sodas because that could potentially trigger seizures my 2nd part is about history if I look at the pictures of people I'm around World War 2 everybody's relatively Slam so I wonder about the evolution of Chicago for example how does it have a go to where you would have 10 teaspoons of sugar and drank that were added Why not just want to spoil and is still getting the sugar that why why 10 no words how did it get so out of control from say the World War 2 era where apparently they did not do this to get you addicted to it I would guess Darrell you know that on the head right there more sugar equal it's like a slot machine literally the more sugar they put into something the more you're going to buy that food so they got it that that's what they do and they're very cleverly sneaking into all these different foods as we spoke about earlier so it's one of the things that just they're adding and adding and adding because people are buying more so again we have to really like I always say that what we choose to spend our dollars on is going to dictate keeping these companies in business or not we stop buying Coca-Cola they're not going to be able to sell Coca-Cola right but we're literally funding them but the addiction is the reason why the telomere question is a phenomenal question a literally represents your aging so the shorter the telomere length means we are aging is a lesson means that we have less longevity so things like sugar has been shown to. Actually shorten your telomeres just like a cigarette would literally shave years off of your life so we want to add lent to our life we want to have longer telomeres which is the caps on the end of the d.n.a. Like you mention so having less sugar more of these healthy alkalizing strengthening Foods is going to help you accomplish that goal to a Miami Florida Joses with us hand low Jose. Is there Ok go ahead in the area 'd full. Well have Tommy work on your phone for you. Mike in Pueblo Colorado Go ahead Michael Yeah I was going to bring a step and so I just heard that that music you played just before the break you know you have 3 or 4 things that sound similar and they're always played before breaks and one or more of each 4 is played at least twice a week and I'd like to know who does those because I don't know why but they always always making a stylistic for Boulder Colorado where I lived 10 years ago and a cancer that like that's fantastic Some of my 3 and I really enjoy that when I get the subject is from those pieces of music so I have really I have 3 really short questions Ok we'll go one at a time one of the time Ok Dr Wallach is really against oils My question is if this you don't if the oils are cold pressed and you don't use them to cook with us. What is so bad about the extra virgin olive oil grapeseed oil etc. Ok that's a question we have a guest who hates all yells Darrell I don't I like olive oil but what are your thoughts olive oil is one of the healthiest foods you could put into the body and they you've heard things that you can cook with that you can cook with it under a medium flame if it's a higher flame I would use coconut oil or of a cotton oil but as I mentioned earlier there's fat that heal and fats that kill the oils that are very healthy and this is all in the research are extra virgin olive oil avocado oil coconut oil the lack seed oil one of my favorite for a munity and he t. Oil grapeseed oil is one I do not like in fact I was talking about those inflammatory fats grape seed has the highest most imbalance ratio of any food on earth it's 954 to one which means it's 954 times more inflammatory then something like an Omega 3 so that's the one I would actually avoid question number 2 Michael. I would like to know if you know of any supplements that actually restore dark hair color. That's interesting I had heard that copper supplements help what have you heard on that Carol. That's a great point copper supplement is one that we need to avoid 100 percent if your supplement has more than a 100 micrograms of copper you need to throw it out because what the research shows is that the copper in the supplement can. Go to the brain and actually cause things like dementia and all timers the number one source of copper comes from. Comes from plumbing and also comes from supplements Yeah really look at your water as well interesting so we get too much copper in our lifestyles because of the pipes that the the water comes through so that's one thing I would actually try to say let's watch out for it and does anything else for storing your hair color. I would say just having those high rich minerals and omega 3 fats because it's about restoring connective tissue skin hair and nails also Silica is a very very powerful mineral and nutrient because that helps connective tissue as well. As well those are the ones I would put the top the list number 3 Mike Ok you've never been asked this question before. There are countries in Europe and maybe elsewhere. These 2 restaurants in New York City that serve ice cream and yogurt with some gradient and there is even a relationships based on what I'm about to ask you what is your nutrition opinion of adults drinking breast milk. That that is the 1st time a client is and he's right that does happen yeah exactly. I don't have an answer for that but what I can tell you is that breast milk is a very nutritious nutritious liquid means we don't think twice about drinking cow's milk right but here's the deal we're the only mammals that consume another mammals breast milk after weaning cows don't even drink cow's milk it was designed for baby cows so breast milk was designed for babies so I don't think it's something that we need though I would see there's a lot of nutrients in there there's minerals or make a 3 fat so if it's something that you decided to do I believe there's only upside no downside to that because biologically it was meant for us as humans ideally for babies that are used to drink milk like crazy I can't drink it anymore I don't know why but there's a mental lapse in my head cow's milk Yeah you know I just can't drink up yeah yeah I mean we were forced to drink it as kids right but it's something that even my children we never had cow's milk it's a number one allergy in children remember children were designed to have breast milk and once you're done with that water. Let's go back to Jose in Miami see if we get a better connection with our my Jose let's give it a try George I'm sorry about that I almost dropped the phone as I was paying for milk. A little things exactly a little as a doctor. If you don't see it being about a link between a thyroid problem and the mention particularly believe I read something about that . Was a virus deficient Also if you supplements like also g.p.c. . Hoopers ing to present a new path. And I was like awful a voice as it is. Yeah I mean the thyroid is the number one 1st glance to be attacked by toxicity in the body where did the toxins enter the body that hits the thyroid gland 1st which usually leads to imbalances in your thyroid hormones affects your brain affects your adrenal can actually cause once a thyroid goes off it's like it's like a traffic cop it effects everything else so leaky gut is where you have to start you've gotta start with the gut the micro biome we everybody's got we got I do live blood cell testing in my office I see this in every single person I test so we have to heal and feel the gut I'm a big fan of chlorophyll of green juice because it really lower lowers the inflammation and then we need to do some supplements that can actually heal that gut lining the other supplements again we've got to be careful just throwing darts of the dark or like I love alpha lipoic acid but my motto is always test not guess when you're dealing with something like a thyroid gland because you really want to know what's happening with the thyroid so I always start with the gut because a pocket is the father of modern medicine said look to the gut it's the cause of all dis ease so we clean up the gut we fix the gut and from there we can move on to the to the good to the organs and the the hormones themselves next one up is an eon Alabama hello any. Size large Hi there. Thank you thank you my call. I just turn the air sign off here make what you do with 2 phones on so I can hear all right feet here and show and I'll. Pay you know not go I've been on a reducing diet for Imus says years I lost very little I am asked to see for 1500 calories a day however to get more frightening I usually go up to around $38800.00 I actually have lost wife and she thinks that is what's wrong with her any What's wrong with her doc what's going on with any Well 1st thing on as a roll tide you're from Alabama Congrats on the big victories and I think game against Ohio State the Yeah Yeah Yeah they go but remember a calorie is not a calorie so we have to be careful of having calories basing on our health in our weight loss for example if I have a novice Kotto a calorie of an avocado which will help me burn fat is much different than a calorie of high fructose corn syrup they're both a calorie while the lower inflammation one will increase inflammation so I don't count calories I don't believe in counting calories I believe in the quality of the calories that's the key thing so I would be more inclined to look at what you're eating because it's specifically in those food that the reason why you can lose the weight remember when we have too much weight it's an acid problem the body is holding on to the way to neutralize and protect those damaging acids from harming the body's So your goal needs to be to reduce the acidity in the inflammation which comes from all the things that we're talking about today what do you think of all water and vitamin diets. A water in general the question is Where are the vitamins coming from you know I believe that we should get as many of the vitamins from our from our food but we live in a Danish age where it's impossible to get all the subjects off the supplementation Yes supplementation is important you know things like you know the big 5 you know Magnesium is number one omega 3 fats number 2 probiotics you need vitamin d 3 and vitamin k. 2 those are the big 5 and I love zinc too I think Singh is important especially now what's going on but again you can supplement your way out of a bad diet while you need to take those types of supplements they're super important we still have to make sure that we're eating a an energy filled you know strengthening diet that alkalis the body those chewing combinations like the 12 punch Dave's with us in San Diego west of the Rockies Hi David why are you doing Ok thank you in honor George and Darrell it's Dave further to talk to you about. This topic I have been off sugar for about. 4 years and it started because I was sitting at my desk I was eating something and you know I don't like dinner and the food wouldn't go around the corner and I got mad and I slugged my stomach and said You're over and I got up I was 190 and that's probably like to some people but I lost this weight because I got mad at it I went on that I went on the Kito diet. Works And let me tell you I don't hardly touch the m c 2 l. Now but I supplement with it because it's incredible energy that is what my brain and stomach want now I just want to say You mentioned a lot of things and all the things I've learned George's show George said something with a doctor about 2 to 3 months after cope it came out he mentioned I went on the cobra on the Hugo diet and he didn't have any symptoms I totally believe that because when I was 190 I had neuropathy in my feet I could feel pains in my stomach with my I had stomach issues you know into gesture and it felt like it wasn't digesting right and it would give me cramps and I felt bad. I was must say tell people take a curse I cleanse or to kill the parasites like Candida Candido is like rampant in America from g.m.o. Foods sugars if they kill that you get rid of that appetite of that Candida and your can your your appetite becomes controllable again it's amazing I don't crave sugar 86 percent cocoa. Sardines Pickels but a banana oranges not too many oranges but the appetite suppresses itself without all this extra sugar in there you don't go crazy and keep eating until you're going to pop that's going to point Terrell go ahead exactly I love this topic is when the fate my favorite things to talk about remember when you eat sugar is a dirty burn this is why people that crave sugar need it every 2 or 3 hours because it's gone and you need it again because you need to keep your body still going when you train your body to burn fat as you have Congratulations it's a huge huge accomplishment you you you can go all day without being hunger because fat is like a slow burning coal it suppresses hunger it satiates helps your body burn fat and 95 percent of the calories stored in your body are stored as fat only 5 percent are stored or sugar so we have so much fuel in the body ready to be activated and mobilized and you have achieved that if you're starting out you know when you when you are going from sugar to fat burning it takes about 2 to 4 weeks on average if you're following all the things that we're talking about the once you get there it's a game changer and then what happens is a bra a byproduct of that you feel better you have more energy you sleep better you live longer everything is your entire life improves so way to go this is exactly what we're looking for when people move to a strength eating die away from stress eating Why do you need a little candy bar something for energy or so they say we really don't because the candy is that instant hit of glucose right so it gives you the glucose your body burns it off that's what's giving you the energy but then what happens is your body is going to crash to get more excited too isn't it. I'm sorry was the question it's a big time crash too was another it's a it's a it's a big time crash Exactly and that's what happens people living on both extremes you know they wake up and you know they'll have something acidic whether it's a cup of coffee you know we have acted taking coffee so we have the you know the power you add to the coffee which neutralizes the acid but then if it's if it's an acidic cup of coffee then we move to sugar and then we have more sugar which is kind of feeding that addiction all day long and by the end of the day you were so jacked up on all this caffeine and sugar we can't sleep so then we take something for the sleep so it's important that you know something like a cheap meal can turn into a cheat lifestyle so I say no you can't enjoy your food you can make sure that it's not the dominant part of your diet and your lifestyle what's up next on your plate these days Darryl. Oh just super busy now we're going to have a big 10 day get off your sugar detox at the end of the month on the 25th for having that some excited about that and just really enjoying you know speaking to people like you getting the word out and helping people get off their sugar. But companies media networks they seize America's 1st news this morning with the hopes of only police suspensions Good morning I'm Gordon deal along with Jennifer on this Tuesday January 12th pledge to be with us and here's what we have for you this hour several u.s. Capitol Police officers have been suspended after last week's rioting We'll explain the reasons and look at efforts to overhaul the department's House Democrats have planned an impeachment vote for tomorrow but not all Democrats think it's the right strategy the f.b.i. Warning of armed protests at all 50 state capitals and Washington d.c. Before Inauguration Day and the big retailers telling you to sometimes keep the items that you no longer want while also refunding that online purchase. Well it can vary by item but roughly it can run about $10.00 to $20.00 per item dam and that that excludes freight so they're shipping on top of that so you figure you know you have the shipping and then once the item gets returned to the retailer they usually get heat about a clean sweep package you restock it says in The Wall Street Journal and retailers reducing the cost of returns. The House plans to vote tomorrow on impeaching President Trump over accusations that he incited supporters to storm the u.s. Capitol building last week House Democrats introduced an article of impeachment yesterday and said they would move ahead regardless of whether they had enough Republican support Democrats are expected to have enough votes to impeach in the house which requires only a simple majority a 2 thirds supermajority in the Senate would then be required to convict Mr Trump Democratic Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia told Fox News he's against the idea Joe Biden she want us to put our government together confirm immediately we need to get Secretary of Defense we need to get people in place Tony when we get to aren't . Elegance we need to protect our country and get a functioning government as quickly as possible the house 13 months ago without any Republican support impeach Mr Trump over allegations about Ukraine he was acquitted in the Senate. Several u.s. Capitol Police officers have been suspended and at least 10 more are under investigation over the deadly rioting at the u.s. Capitol the suspensions occurred amid an internal probe video and other evidence appears to show that some officers and officials violated department policies Meanwhile Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan who chairs one of the committees that oversees the Capitol Police told reporters that one of the suspended officers appeared to have taken a selfie with members of the mob he said another officer was suspended after he was seen wearing a Make America Great Again hat and directing people inside the building if there are people that were working there on the 6th and were doing something that was on the ferry us who want to make sure that. That's taken care of so that we ensure safety for the inauguration South Carolina Congressman Jim Clyburn meanwhile is among those who have other questions about whether some Capitol Police officers aided the protesters he says it's fishy that the rioters knew the location of lawmakers offices. Both political parties are trying to figure out how to move forward following the events of January 6th when a mob fueled by conspiracies and riled up by a president in his final days in office ransacked the Capitol in Swanson managing editor at The Hill has been looking at different scenarios for Democrats and Republicans in what do we know well we know a couple of things are going to happen we know what it certainly is going to vote to impeach President we don't know how many Republicans will support. It but in the House it's going to be up for a lot of Republicans to support it simply because look what a primary target on the backs. Just simply don't think Trump should be impeached because they don't. Did impeachable conduct or because they don't think impeachment of a good thing but a country right at this time but we don't know also is whether the Senate trial will come right away or some are in Democratic circles about holding back the articles but each been sold but you don't have an Pietschmann overwhelm the 1st 100 days of a new Biden administration cheese aren't so it's possible then then a Senate impeachment trial Klute occur 100 days after Mr Biden's been in office it's possible there's no rule about the house I said it is likely to move forward very quickly on impeachment a lot of anger against Willie and in both chambers right now but particularly among House Democrats so there's there's very unlikely but that's going to hold off but there's no rule that the Senate trying to have happen right away and it is some Democrats are publicly saying they think that it would be you know bad for this to happen right at the beginning of Biden's presidency when he said he wants to focus on other issues such as the pandemic which continues to kill thousands of Americans every day and trying to help the economy which continues to be of course hampered by the and I aren't so Democrats I guess run the risk of getting painted as. Focusing too much on political stuff rather than getting to work on governing I guess that's a risk for them potentially I think but you know for them one of things they're probably thinking about is well are we going to be able to get $67.00 votes in the Senate to come back and the chance about likely or I should say less likely or more likely if it happened at the end of January or if it happens later there's another not in consequential thing to think about which is under the rules of impeachment after you impeach you can have a 2nd vote on whether to bar the person who has been convicted of ever running for office again there are a lot of people in Washington that would probably like to never see President Trump run for office ever again and it's you know about going to be a part of a calculation that goes into that are you more likely to get support for that later or are you more likely to see the gets put out right away but you know I should say I'm I'm guessing a little bit here too in the early days of this and emotions are high and people are taking these things out and I explain that position even for some Republicans now as they observe this obviously and then consider their own reelection prospects Well there are plenty of Republicans but would like to see a President Trump go sooner rather than later we we've seen a handful of Republicans say the president should resign Ben Pfaff said he would consider articles of impeachment Adam Kinzinger expressed support for using the 25th Amendment to get rid of trump there are plenty of a public and however in fact the majority of Republican House I would say who are pretty much sticking with and who have offered muted criticism criticism of him if any and Republicans in both chambers have to certainly think about primary challenges and what kind of power Trump is going to have going forward in g o p. Next another factor and that of course are the use actions by social media companies put up or late taken away trying. To intimidate other Republicans so it's perhaps continues going. Up another thing to watch and finally one other thing as we're all waiting on pins and needles for what might happen on Inauguration Day or even January 17th when some far right groups have talked about more violence targeting state capitals and Washington if there's more violence like what we saw when they got another potential game changer right thanks Ian Ian Swanson is managing editor at The Hill 14 minutes now after the hour on this morning America's 1st news coming up next armed protests planned for state capitals . So there is making absolutely no money out of the product at all I assume they track you and your purchases so you're not trying to game the system they do track it and they you know they look at your purchase history they look at sort of the value of the items purchased there's a whole lot of things that they look at when making the decision to let you keep RINGBACK it but that said you know criminals have gotten wise to this new policy ad and they are trying to game the system in fact you know about a quarter of all returns fraud chatter on the dark web last year had to do with Amazon no surprise there Amazon's you know such a large company and they were one of the 1st to offer those and so you have criminals trying to sort of figure out how to game the system so that they can't sort of get to keep the item without returning it and get the refund and one thing they did notice is that if it's a newly opened account the Amazon is much more likely to flag it as fraud so this is led to a big secondary market for older accounts we're speaking with Suzanne Kaptur reporter at The Wall Street Journal her stories told Amazon and Wal-Mart still consumers to skip returns of on wanted items so what happened to the days of bringing your online order to was store and returning it that way yeah it's you know a lot of people don't feel comfortable today going to stores plus stores have to pass the constraints it's just not as easy obviously to walk into a store as it was pretty pandemic and and that is you know returning an on line item to a store with the preferred method for most retailers because obviously it saves them money but people also tend to make new purchases while they're there returning so it boost sales you get sort of a double whammy from that but it's just a lot harder to do that today during the pandemic Thanks Suzanne Suzanne kept reporter at The Wall Street Journal 30 minutes now after the hour on this morning America's 1st news. The Capitol Police to size and budget are equivalent to those of many metropolitan police departments has to pick Lee received little attention from the lawmakers the force is sworn to protect but since a deadly riot last week exposed a colossal security failure in the capital outrage lawmakers have begun calling for a comprehensive review that could result in substantive changes to law enforcement on Capitol Hill more from Chris Marquette congressional reporter at c.q. Roll call Chris set this up you know it's a department. That you know very secretive over the years they're not subject to the Freedom of Information Act So if you you know request you know officer misconduct reports or inspector general report say as part of the legislative branch they're not subject to the Freedom of Information Act And you know they don't need to give me records or class. They you know that they don't feel like giving you so you know that's that's that's a little bit of you know important contacts to understand the department with and not you know going into the joint session of Congress on January 6th you know the Friday before we put out a story will put out a story in which you know the Capitol police spokesperson told Roll Call told name and roll call that you know they were they were ready they had a comprehensive security plan ready to go far for one Senate and I heard from you know a committee aide on the House Administration that you know they also got assurances from Capitol Police that they would bolster security and you know what happened on Wednesday was you know a a failure and in the ability to protect and secure Congress which is the mission of the Capitol Police and there's there's an endless amount of questions that need to be answered about about what happened on once and what what were the circumstances why that allowed that to happen on one side why some of the reporting seems to indicate that there were some folks willing to do some significant damage right now with the pipe bombs it a couple guys showing up with zip ties or some sort of restraints that seem to indicate they might have been after some lawmakers they had there is a lot of you know very scary facts that came out about about that kind of stuff like you know there were pipe bombs found at the d.n.c. And the r. And c. There was you know a cooler found with a long gun and some are tough cocktails as you mentioned the zip ties you know there were clearly these you know this this group of violent rioters were intent on causing damage to you know really any anybody or anything in their path and you know as you can see from a lot of videos and from. You know the report and. You know there have been you know 5 deaths so the result of what happened on Wednesday 2 Capitol Police officers have died so that actually you know had the total up to 6 deaths. And you know it's just that 6 deaths with the Capitol police officer was an off duty death but you know still I mean it's the tremendous loss of life 6 lives lost since one since Wednesday and you know a lot of officers injured I believe the number. The last number that I heard was around 5060 injured officers. And you know just just a day of terror on the heart of American government we're speaking with Chris Marquette congressional reporter at c.q. Roll call his piece is called Capitol Police overhauls once an afterthought now at forefront after riot you reference to at the start your story leadership and cultural problems what's going on there. So I mean there's been a lot of issues with the leadership over you know his son has you know you know had to mull to us tenure with the Capitol Police there's been you know there's been you know a lot of a lot of litigation surrounding you know gender discrimination among the rank and file there's been a lot of the Capitol Police Union not feeling like they're getting listen to that their you know. Issues that are important to them or not getting you know properly addressed or or heard out by Capitol police leadership including you know she's someone who has now centers on and you know and. Additionally you know there were a lot of measures actually and in the House appropriations bill that came out in the summer that was you know China trying to bring the Capitol Police Department into the forefront of you know to get some rights should shine down on. Divisional round which will play at the 43 year old Brady against 41 year old Saints quarterback Drew Brees Now you remember we told you yesterday about the mean that was making the rounds over the weekend depicting a spry and young looking Brady next to a much older looking but actually younger George Blanda from 1970 yesterday Brady shared a photo shop edit of a promotional picture for Sunday's game featuring him and Brees aged about 30 years with bushy gray beards and the History Channel logo between them with the tagline of history awaits despite the aging It didn't take long for Twitter users to notice that the age Brady still looks more n.f.l. Ready than 43 year old George Blanda did back in 1970 and I think Brady does his own social media stuff I mean. Come up with some of the ideas but he's got people we know he's got people he's not Photoshop. Being these things together all these elaborate videos that he does that's kind of my question he's got people for sure maybe you know he has some assistant maybe that's really good with this kind of stuff and spends half their day so crafting his social media I mean I know he would be probably one where the other yeah just curious as you have like a small you know small group of clever people who piece the stuff together and then he says Ok Or does he come up with the idea and then they crafted I'm curious and I hope that he's coming up with you know is but we don't certainly don't know that for sure and some of them are just a little too clever his stuff is good news is they really are yes and in these difficult times we could use as many distractions as possible so why not try to send a piece of food into space that's what a restaurant in Britain tried to do using weather balloons but unfortunately the attempt literally crash landed u.p.i. Says the owner of the child while eatery in Bath England said he came up with the idea to send a samosa to space as a means of bringing some levity to what has been a difficult time a samosa for those who like me who did know is a fried or baked pastry with a savory filling such as spice potatoes onions cheese beef or other meats kind of resembles a fried Won Ton the owner and his friends attach the samosa to a weather balloon outfitted with a Go Pro camera and a g.p.s. Tracker so they could follow the food items journey but shortly after launch they discovered the g.p.s. Was malfunctioning they initially thought the project was a lost but the next day the g.p.s. Reactivated and revealed the balloon had crash landed in a field in France the samosa and its wrapper were missing from the crash site leading them to theorize it had become a meal for some French wildlife and meanwhile the French Department of Defense is scrambling thinking it's under attack from the weather bill of rights right from launch from England were fried pastry you know one of the set of the space made it to France and said yeah not so good there fellas thanks Mike 13 minutes now in front of the hour on this morning America's 1st news here's a question.
