Duncan was an all american quarterback and led the hawkeyes to the 1959 rose bowl and a 3812 win over cal. The osage iowa native was a first team all big 10 qb as a junior and senior. He led the conference in passing and was named the College Football player of the year by three organizations. Duncan was the first player selected in the 1959 nfl draft. He is a member of fame and is on the Kinnick Stadium ring of honor. After all those great awards and wins. One of randys favorite moments came at northwestern in the snow. One of the plays that still stands out in my mind is one nobody else remembers because it was played in dike stadium in evanston and we had a very Good Football Team probably the worst pass inthrew in my life should of been 10 sprint champ slid off his hands into the hands of kevin furlong and we won the game 6 nothing nobody could move the football and it was just a fluke sot 30 oc it was a fluke coach ferentz called randy duncan a true hawkeye legend who lived life to the fullest. After a bye week the uni panthers are back in action this week hosting Southern Illinois in their conference opener. Its important to get off to a good start because the valley is stacked this year. Josh has the story. After opening the season with a loss to wash, the prairie Football Team has win last week against 9th ranked iowa city west. I know its been awhile since theyve won four straight here at prairie based on what other people have told me. The thing about this group of kids that set them apart from other teams ive coached in probably the last 15 years is just their cohesiveness, Team Chemistry and just their heart. Were not the most talented team, but i can assure you that in reference to just kids that fight and battle for each other, ill put them up against anybody. The hawks have been able to run the ball effectively with the duo of joseph meyer and zachary ganske. Meyer has 572 yards rushing an its really the line thats been putting in most of the work. We just look up, keep the eyes up and we know the holes going to be there. The lines not big, but they most definitely put the work in the offseason. Theyre most definitely bringing the heart every game. I feel like joe has a little more agility than me and hes quicker. Whereas, im just bring it up the gut, more smashmouth. So, he opens up things on the outside, and me and dakota can run it up inside. Its been working the past five weeks or so. Pounding it into the ground, usually dbs will fall asleep eventually, and thats when we take our advantage of going deep. Another key is the hawks have been able to open up the offense under 2nd year head coach mark bliss. Its that old adage where you crawl, walk and run. Well, last year we crawled. This year, were walking and were starting to get into that transition phase of running. That being said, hopefully were hitting it at the right time, especially as week get deeper into district play. Instead, it reverts to its asexual state and then grows up again. We thought my 90yearold grandfather had reverted to an asexual state, but the lawsuit from his jamaican caregiver proved us all wrong. Point is, immortality is not only a possibility, it is real. Only if youre this jellyfish which periodically reverts to a mass of undifferentiated protoplasm. If i could keep my gmail account, id be okay with that. Hello, fellas. Others hey. Remember when we were trying to figure out what that smell coming from professor tuppermans office was . Yeah . Turns out it was tupperman. Dead at his desk for two weeks. Oh, my god. Thats terrible
