Police arrested one in houston, texas, and the other in sacramento, california, on charges of supporting isis. Cruz is using this as a way to support his view that the us should not accept refugees from syria. Both came in through the vetting programs that president obama tells us are perfectly effective for vetting terrorists. Cruz used to be a long time supporter of expanding legal immigration. But he now says there should be a temporary halt on legal immigration. Johnson county needs poll workers for a january 19th special election. County auditor Travis Weipert says because of the unusual date and the short notice, the usual workers are not available. Poll workers get 200 dollars for the entire day. The university of iowa has of the former hawkeye Football Players who was hospitalized after a high intensity workout in 2011. The suit by william lowe was seeking damages for pain and suffering. The university agreed to pay him 15 thousand dollars. Doctors diagnosed lowe and 12 other players with exertional rhabdo myolysis in january 2011. Former University President sally mason read a report that said back squats made the players ill during winter workouts. The Hawkeye Football Program no longer uses that workoko. Some eastern iowa students are getting their Stem Education through a new 3d classroom. Stem stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The Us Department of education says there will be a 14 percent increase in stem jobs between 2010 and 2020, with the biggest jump coming in biomedical engineers at 62 percent.
