A gun shot injured a two year old dubuque boy sunday evening. Police say they found the two year old boy with injuries to his jaw around 11 45 last night at 942 main street. They tell us there is still quite a bit of confusion about what happened. Including where the call for help first came from. Police say the boy was shot here at 942 main street. But the original call to 911 said it happened at 920 main street. Take a listen to dispatch traffic right after the call came in. All cars report of a possible shooting at 920 main street. We accidentally shot. They were going to be transporting them in a green camry. Then they disconnected. Police say they arrived on the scene before the child left in that green camry. They say some people at the scene told officers the child was not actually shot, but rather was cut by some broken glass. But investigators say as paramedics took a closer look at him, they determined he did in fact have a gun shot wound. Police say, right now, they still arent sure if the person who pulled the trigger of that hand gun was an adult or one of the other children who were inside the building at the time. Right now it does not appear to be any criminal intent in regards specifically to the gun shot wound. According to the dubuque Zoning Department, the first floor of 942 main is zoned for commercial use only. But, police say the first floor of the building, where the shooting happened, was being used as a make shift apartment. The Zoning Department says they are now investigating why people were living here. Right now police say no one faces any charges for the shooting. But criminal charges are a possibility. This is video from the ef one tornado that hit the hiawatha area at about 4 30 that afternoon. It packed peak wind speeds of 95 Miles Per Hour and damaged trees and about a dozen homes. Another ef one tornado touched down about 5 30 pm near the Dubuque County town of luxemberg. It damaged trees and out buildings on two farms. Iowa voters now have an easier way to register for this novembers president ial election. Secretary of state paul pate unveiled the new electronic Voter Registration system in des moines. The Iowa Department of transportation is housing the new system and its available by any device with internet connection. People have to have a drivers license or stateissued id to utilize the new electronic Voter Registration system. Secretary pate says he wants all eligible citizens to participate in the electoral process and this brings iowa one step closer to that goal. This is going to be a great tool to help in the voting process in the election process because itll give us more current and up to date records so we can reduce the lines on election day. Some are concerned about the new system because it excludes roughly 145thousand eligible voters because those people dont have a drivers license or state id. Secretary pate said his office wants to fix this gap when more funding is available.
