The governor made the announcement this morning in des moines during his weekly press conference. One of the new byways includes the covered bridges in madison county. That will be an 82 mile stretch of road. Another byway getting a boost is the driftless area scenic byway. Its in allamakee lansing. The new extension will add a 44 mile loop into Winneshiek County and decorah to add cold water trout streams.
