The attorney in this case, dave obrien said this is the fifth lawsuit hes filed against the Dubuque Police for alleged excessive force. The drug is called buprenorphine. Its being used at mercys turing point inpatient treatment center. Doctors say heroin overdoses and deaths in Dubuque County have increased from five overdoses and two deaths in 2011, to 15 overdoses and six deaths they relied on talk therapy and the 12 step program to help treat heroin addiction. But now this drug is available for treating patients. What that medicine does is get in there and tricks the brain and then thinks its getting heroin, but its not a trick and it helps them with withdrawal symptoms. Doctors say the drug does not cause the user to get high. And patients are able to take it as long as their doctor says they need it. The university of iowa has settled a gender discrimination lawsuit filed by a man who said he didnt get a job because administrators wanted a woman.
