One person is dead and another was taken to the hospital. The fire was at 3701 16th avenue sw. 72 year old Ronald Jacobs died at the scene. Responders took his wife, 72 year old karen jacobs, transferring her to another hospital. Smoke and flames had filled the mobile home when firefighters arrived just after 7 30 am yesterday morning. But the fire never got large enough to threaten any nearby mobile homes. One long time resident at the Mobile Home Park says ththjacobs couple had lilid there for about 45 years. He knew both had health issues, which may have slowed them down if they were trying to escape. He was on oxygen, and he liked to cook in the mornings, cook breakfast and stuff like that. The district says he worked alongside a Diversity Committee to create the equity action plan. It went into effect in 2015. Some events like this Community Forum in january are part it. The program monitors the progress o targeted student groups including african american, latino and special education students.
