The protests ended but the protesters left their signs. Most didnt think a trump now his opponents are worried some of his controversial policies could become reality. Israel olivea woke up in Donald Trumps america panicked. His wife and daughters are denver natives but he is here illegally. Scores of hispanic protesters worry families like his will be torn apart when donald trump takes power. They really scared. People are scared. There is a high degree of anxiety. They dont know what is going to happen. Reporter trump introduced his Campaign Calls mexicans rapists and drug dealers. The country now feels more dangerous for mexican americans. Im scared people think it is okay to come out and say racist things are going to act on them. This is maybe the most disappointed i have ever been in our country. And that is not without an understanding of history. It happened on champus street just off a busy 16th street mall. Karen morfitt is there tonight. And karen, police tell you it is very fortunate no bystanders were hurt. Reporter yeah, jim, 16th street mall, you can see, a number of people even out tonight at 10 00. The crowds obviously thin out. But, imagine this shooting happened right after lunch and less than a block from here in hotel with so many people in the area around the time. Things could have ended much differently. Yellow crime scene tape was stretched across several blocks in downtown denver highlighting the scene of a deadly shooting. I heard the pop. But, not really thinking it is anything because im visiting. And, it seems really nice and quiet and it is broad daylight. Reporter it was around 2 00 when police say several people started fighting in this killing one, and badly injuring another. Theres a lot of Police Officers up this street. You walk up. There is a bus just off to the side. Stop, empty as well. Reporter witnesses flagged down officers who were already nearby patrolling the 16th street mall. Those who saw the shooting also saw two suspects running from the area and then hopping onto an rtd bus. The increased presence of officers on the program as well as an assigned to this area were able to get into the area extremely quickly. Reporter police were able to stop that bus a few blocks from the shooting scene and took two possible suspects into custody. Investigators are not working to determine exactly what may have prompted the deadly encounter. Now, that second injured victim did have to be transported to the hospital. We have new details in this highspeed chase. Men in this truck threw dozens of items onto the busy interstate. Jeff todd has been tracking this story for weeks now. He has the video. And an update son special pairs of boots that are tied to this case. This case involves two stolen cars from the denver metro area. But when the e the suspects started throwing things out of the car from giant car parts all the way down the small soda bottles. The sheriff says his deputies are trained in high speed chases but they have never seen anything like this. If you are run from us, we are not going to go away. Reporter deputies caught up to this white truck along i76. You can see the passenger hanging out of the truck as it speeds down the highway at 100 miles an hour. Eventually, things got even more dangerous. The back window of the pickup, crawled into the topper. And is now starting to throw objects. This is 67pound floor jack that just went by. Reporter a total of 50 items were thrown out over a nearly 40mile stretch of road. We didnt recover all of the items that were thrown out. Theres so many. Reporter Brandon Macintosh and luke batz are being held for several counts of attempted murder for officers and drivers on the road. There is a stolen vehicle with stolen license plates on it. Reporter that stolen vehicle is this truck. It was full of items for the Veterans Organization boot 66. We had boots in the truck that came from the actual military personnel that were killed in iraq and afghanistan the family had donated to us. Reporter the truck owner told us she thinks her car is totaled because many of its we have good news about the boots in that stolen van that we told you about a week ago. It is believed that a majority of them are still in that truck, but it is still being held as evidence and a few weeks before its return to its rightful owner. Jeff todd, cbs4 news. Thanks jeff. We have new developments tonight. Investigators say two Police Officers in boulder were justified in shooting a man on the cu campus last month. It is believed that former marine b dealing with Significant Mental Health issues. The nearly three foot long machete he was carrying. Officers say he charged them with the weapon. Think didnt have time to find a less lethal force, so they shot him. He was recently discharged from the marine corp. For drug issues. Developing tonight, robbers storm a bank in denver. And this was no ordinary stickup. They really held people hostage. Coming up, why the fbi staking taking syringes from the hospital. And this drug and distracted driver cost him his legs. Surveillance camera captured a denver bank robbery investigators are calling more violent than most. It happened month at the key bank on the 2100 block of south colorado boulevard. Two men get out of a gold dodge sedan and rush out of the bank. One hops a counter and the suspects point guns at employees and customers. Denver fbi spokesperson debra sherman. The men very dangerous. They really held people hostage. Threatened their lives. Reporter investigators think these men have struck before. The bank they hit is near a school and the robbery happened around 10 00 a. M. That is so scary. A lot of people are Walking Around with their kids. Reporter during the robbery, the men wore gloves with red stitching making them look pinch a details lead to their arrest. We learned unruh was fired from four hospitals in oklahoma for stealing syringes there. She tested positive for hepatitis c. University hospital tested 30 patients for hep c and all the tests were negative. 19 night dylan goshling allegedly hit a parked car months ago on the fourth of july and already, craig is moving ahead with his life. Cbs4s Jennifer Brice shares craigs crusade of inspiration. Your body is such an amazing tool. Reporter it is a tool that craig has leveraged his entire life. And this front is going to do that at least for a brief period of time. This cold front will work its way toward colorado tomorrow. Ahead of it tomorrow, you will notice your winds increase a little bit. And it will be a bit breezy tomorrow across the state. The front works its way through overnight and friday. And we will get cooler so, it is going to feel much cooler around here. You may actually need the sweatshirt or a sweater for a little while. And we will stay dry with this. It will not bring us any moisture. But lit cool us off and we will take that little bit. But as we look at futurecast the middle of next week, we will see the chance for some rain. Maybe even some snow into parts of the high country. Denver maybe a shot for us. And it will get windy with that system coming through next week. Then on friday, veterans day, a little cooler around the 60 degree mark, but we rebound right back into the mid to upper 60s for saturday, sunday, monday. Even low 70s on tuesday.
