A corvette slammed into a pole closing an intersection during rush hour this morning. Our jamie leary is back at the scene as we the scene is finally cleared, jamie . Reporter finally cleared after hours of investigation. This was a high speed crash. You can see the skid marks behind me. Around 2 00 a. M. Or after that the corvette lost control, careened into this light pole which had to be removed, then it caught fire. You can see the burn mark here, trapping the passenger inside. Looking at the damage, its surprising that anybody could survive this crash. Police say the driver actually got out of the car and tried to custody not far from the crash. He was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. His passenger wasnt as lucky. It took close to an hour to cut him out of the car. Were told hes in the hospital in critical condition. The accident closed a portion of southbound santa fe for hours. As traffic picked up, the scene distracted many commuters. An officer was attempting to cross the road with her lights on, so traffic stopped for her, with the exception of one the officer was okay, but the driver who hit her car was taken to the hospital. Reporter authorities in colorado continue to look for the missing body of the 13 monthold child. In wyoming police say they have a suspect in custody who they say took responsibility of disposing of that childs body. That man is 23yearold logan hunter rogers. Hes behind bars and hes the mothers boyfriend and is facing charges of police say the boy had been missing since saturday when his grandfather called 911 to report it. When investigators questioned the mother, she claimed the boyfriend had given the child to a man named santiago to go fishing. Nobody could answer who he was or even his last name. Rogers eventually told his he was the only one home when the child died and dumped the child neighbors tell us they were left in shock. Its something you read in crime stories and stuff like that.
