Two colorado teenagers are telling a story of survival after they were trapped on one of colorados highest peaks. They were rescued wednesday from mount of the holy cross in eagle county. But no accidents or at alls in the mall area. Developing story out of fort collins, investigators say theyre working on a Sexual Assault case that ended with a police chase on wednesday night. Weve learned the suspect was released early from prison for a separated violent attack. Heres our jeff todd. Reporter it was wednesday night around 10 00 when the Fort Collins Police were called the busy intersection of harmony and college. The suspect reportedly threatened the female victim with a knife. Victim was able to escape with just minor injuries. Reporter when police arrived, the suspect took off. With the assistance of Larimer County Sheriffs Department and state patrol, followed the suspect vehicle. The suspect attempted to hit fled into this neighborhood. He fled on foot. He was apprehended a short time later. Were always grateful when nobody is injured. Reporter online records show he was arrested in 1997 for stabbing a Convenience Store clerk and stealing money. Online reports indicate he was released after serving 18 years of a 32 year sentence. Several felonies. We heard one Larimer County sheriffs vehicle was damaged in that chase. Its likely the suspect has a Court Hearing this morning. But jail records indicate he will not be getting out on bond this time. Detectives are looking at what happened to a person found dead thanksgiving morning at 43rd and fillmore, south of i 70. Police havent released information on who died there. Officers tell us people at scene were not cooperating. This thanksgiving weekend a family is mourning the death of a teenager who police say was killed by a drunk driver. That crash happened yesterday morning on i25 and highway 7 in broomfield county. Police suspect the man driving an suv was drunk when he hit that blue car that had two teenagers inside. 19yearold died, the 16year old driver seriously hurt.
