The comforting part was that the dusty cloth seats had the same musty smell of my grandmother's house after it rained. The taxi driver was a good man named Danny is about 65 years old wear suspenders and has a puffy pink face with wrinkles that look like they came purely from laughing he was born in Eugene and has never left there was that one time when he had to go to Portland for a wedding but I'll never do that again. He loves Eugene but it's changed this used to be a Big Timber Town there was a time when most of the wood in the United States came from Eugene but they simply ran out of old growth trees there's nothing left to harvest but young trees and the environmentalists put a stop to that you don't hear a lot about environmentalists winning those battles but then he said he was glad they did but now instead of lumberjacks walking down Main Street in flannel shirts it's the skate kids high on legal weed.
