Its really affecting me personally because my muscles cant really handle it. Rose central iowa shelter and services in des moines took in about 200 people during the storm. Since this shelter doesnt turn anyone away, about 50 people slept in the overflow room without a bed. As winter goes on and the temperature drops, more people are going to come in. So the need becomes greater obviously. Rose the shelter relies largely on donations. Theres a constant need for pantry items to stock the kitchen, blankets to cover the beds, and warm clothes to offer. We just cant keep enough coats, enough gloves, enough hats. Once they come in, theyre gone like that. Rose donations and services, people say theyre thankful to receive and to call home for the night. This place is a blessing for people who have nothing. At least they have a roof over their heads, theyre safe and warm. Rose with many more cold nights ahead, the need will continue to grow. This is just the beginning of winter, so obviously we have a long way to go. Alyx central iowa shelter and services is currently in need of all types of winter wear and mens jeans. A pregnant woman was robbed outside a targets door on the south side of demand a target store on the south side of des moines. Jenny speck was unloading birthday presents in the target parking lot at Southridge Mall friday afternoon. She says a man grabbed her purse and took off. Speck chased the robber to his car. She got as close as the drivers side door, when he threw her purse back out, before driving off. The suspect got away with her car keys, house keys and drivers license. Speck says staying in shape helped with confidence in chasing him down. Still, she considers herself lucky. He does have my house key. My car key, my drivers license. Alyx speck says shes not worried because the thief will be caught. Police say the suspect is a white man in his late 20s with short brown hair, possibly wearing a red shirt. The facility has worked off and on for a record 148 days this year. Water works says it was forced to restart as a last step in order to maintain safe drinking water. More than 5 inches of snow dropped on the metro sending people like Anthony Garza to shelters for the night. Its really affecting me personally because my muscles cant really handle it. Central iowa shelter and services in des moines took in about 200 people during the storm. Since this shelter doesnt turn anyone away, about 50 people slept in the overflow room without a bed. As winter goes on and the temperature drops, more people are going to come in. The need becomes greater obviously. , the shelter relies largely on donations. Theres a constant need for pantry items to stock the kitchen blankets to cover the beds and warm clothes to offer. We just cant keep enough clothes, enough coats, enough gloves enough hats, once they come in, theyre gone like that. Donations and services, people say theyre thankful to receive and to call home for the night. This place is a blessing for people who have nothing at least they have a roof over their heads, theyre safe and warm. With many more cold nights ahead, the need will continue to grow. This is just the beginning of winter, so obviously we have a long way to go. Jenny speck was unloading birthday presents in the target parking lot at Southridge Mall friday afternoon. Thths when she says a man grabbed her purse and took off. Speck chased the robber to his car. She got near the drivers side door, when he threw her purse back out, before driving off. The suspect got away with her car keys, house keys and drivers license. Rose central iowa shelter and services in des moines took in about 200 people during the storm. Since this shelter doesnt turn anyone away, about 50 people slept in the overflow room without a bed. As winter goes on and the temperature drops, more people are going to come in. The need becomes greater obviously. Rose the shelter relies largely on donations. Theres a constant need for pantry items to stock the kitchen, blankets to cover the beds, and warm clothes to offer. We just cant keep enough coats, enough gloves, enough hats. Once they come in, theyre gone like that. Rose donations and services, people say theyre thankful to receive and to call home for the night. This place is a blessing for people who have nothing.
