Eric officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 3900 block of Center Street monday afternoon. Inside they found 2 bodies. Crime scene unit investigators were still out there last night elizabeth when police first inside the house in addition to the two dead bodies. Kccis ryan smith reports. Ryan s. not long after Police Responded to reports of shots fired we see Police Officers , carry two kids outside of the house and away from the scene. A baby wrapped in a towel and a young child then rushed to a local hospital. Inside, two dead bodies. That was extremely odd to me. Never seen kids over there of any age really. Ryan s. neighbors were shocked to find countless police units parked on her block and crime scene tape wrapped around her next door neighbors property. This is not normal. Not around here, it is not. And then you come home to cops everywhere ambulances and you know this house is blocked off. Its very scary. Ryan s. police say the call to dispatch came from a woman at the house 3918 Center Street. And there was a lot of blood and when we arrived what we found was two people deceased in the home. Ryan s. after combing through evidence detectives determined this incident is suspicious in nature. They kind of kept to they had a few people that would regularly come over but other than that they never really took anything out of their yard they their yard. They were just homebodies really. Elizabeth those children were not injured but were taken to the hospital as a precaution. It is not clear if they were witness to a crime. This marks the citys 18th and 19th homicide of the year. Eric no arrests yet in a shooting in Downtown Des Moines that killed one man and wounded another on court avenue early sunday morning. Des Moines Police say 21yearold Edmanuel Perez died in the shooting near 3rd and court. 23yearold Andrew Hurley boyd was wounded in the shooting. His condition is not being released. A witness who heard and saw the deadly shooting spoke we are calling him josh and he asked we not show his face on camera. Elizabeth he tells us what he saw happen in front of him early sunday morning. Kccis Marcus Mcintosh has more. He kind of stepped back like this and fired like he was trying to conceal the jacket was out like this and two shots and the guy went down. Marcus that is how josh describes what happened early sunday morning. The shooting left Edmanuel Perez dead and Andrew Hurleyboyd hospitalized. It is still hard to believe what he heard and what he saw he saw. I heard one gunshot a small scuffle broke out in the street and then 2 more shots were fired at a young male right after that i called 911. Marcus the murder and recent assaults have some questioning their safety. Tom zmolek president of the Court DistrictAssociation Says people should not be afraid of going to the court avenue entertainment district. He sent us a statement that reads in part. I can literally say that the Court District is currently the safest and most trouble free that i have seen in the past method that we do business down in the district. Eric polk county investigators say there are still no arrests in a night club killing earlier this month. 20yearold Dashawn Smith died in the shooting. Three other people at the nightclub were wounded. Anyone with any information about the shooting should call polk county Crime Stoppers at 2231400. Des Moines Police are searching for 2 men who shot another man in the chest and leg in front of the home at 2847 cottage grove. It happened sunday night just after 11 00. 41yearold charles shur told police he and a friend were walking home from walgreens when 2 men tried to rob them. Shur said he was shot when the men didnt get anything. He told police didnt recognize police he did not recognize either of the men. Elizabeth your weather is never more than five minutes away. Eric and as todd magel reports police are now asking for help to find the arsonist. Todd this is where the mobile speed camera was set up here side of town. Theres not much left but a few burned pieces of the truck. Its dark now but this was this cell phone video shows the full force of the mobile speed camera fire. It engulfed the ford escape suv. The first call went to the fire department. The second call to police. When i got the call that it really . Someone would do that . Todd Fort Dodge Police chief kevin doty says hes never seen his guess . Someone angry about getting a ticket decided to get some revenge. It worked. The fire destroyed the truck and all the cameras inside. About 40,000 in damage. I understand that people might not like the fact that they get a citation from the vehicle. But to go to the point of destroying the vehicle just amazed me. Todd police are looking at Surveillance Video from a nearby business to help find the vandal who could face arson charges. Steve Baltimore Police officer William Porter was quickly escorted into the courthouse where hell stand trial for his alleged involvement in the death of freddie gray. Just steps away, protesters are a reminder of the tension surrounding grays death. The 25yearold died of spinal injuries while in Police Custody last april. William porters trial is the first of the six baltimore Police Officers charged in grays death. I want those guys to have a fair trial. Let justice prevail. But please let there be justice. Medical attention for gray and alleges gray was illegally transported in the back of a police van without a seatbelt. And till you hear the witnesses testify. It eliminates crossing traffic to get onto the interstate. Elizabeth big news for commuters, west of des moines. The new interchange in waukee at interstate80 is opening today. The new intersection is expected and could change traffic patterns around the western metro. Eric but it does not work like any intersection you have seen in iowa before. Kccis emmy victor got to ridealong with the iowa dot and shows us how it works. Emmy the newest way for rush hour drivers out west to reach the interstate. As we head south we are coming up on the new interchange here with Grand Prairie parkway and interstate i80. Emmy the iowa d. O. T. Shows us how to drive through a diverging diamond where traffic crosses over onto traditionally oncoming lanes. As you can see now we are on the lefthand side of the bridge as we cross the bridge. Emmy from the front seat of a car this may appear confusing at first. Almost like driving on the wrong side of the road side of the road. Lights green. We just follow our paint signs follow our signage. Emmy but the design can save you driving time and lower the amount of traffic at the jordan creek exit. In a typical interchange like end but traffic has to stop if they want to cross over. Emmy theres only two places where traffic crosses the entire intersection instead of four to six. The difference in this design once you go over a light if you want to cross over and turn left to get onto the interstate you do not have to go through another like. Emmy drivers wanting to continue straight ahead will shortly be diverted back to normal. The hardest part now getting people used to the interchange being there.
