Good. The wind may shift him snow and start to cover areas again, so this is a look at Road Conditions across state. Most of the state is in pink, which means the roads are completely covered. In cedar falls and waterloo the roads are purple, meaning travel is not advised. Please take a look at 511ia. Org a for the most updated Road Conditions. Make sure you maintain a reasonable speed and safe following distance. When it is snowing and the roads are slippery, drive below the posted speed limit. Have your lights on so you can see and other drivers can see you as well. Do not use curse control, and beware when driving over ramps and ridges. Keep a lookout for snowplows, it was a dramatic rescue near adel last night when i cars slid off the road and into a creek. The car wound that partially submerged in the water and the man had to be removed by fire crews. Were told he was conscious and taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. He says at least two victims were rescued from the vehicle. And they did not appear to have lifethreatening injuries. Dangerous conditions for drivers all across central iowa last night. The winter storm didnt stop the east village holiday promenade last night in des moines. A group of tap dancers greeted visitors amidst strong winds and heavy snowfall. The holiday promenade is the kickoff to the Holiday Shopping season. Customers stopped in east village boutiques and businesses for open houses. Alyx turning our attention to International News one american , was among at least 21 People Killed in a 7hour long terror attack at a hotel in the capital of mali early friday. The assault in the former french colony came just a week after the attacks in paris. Craig boswell has more from washington. Craig guests at the Radisson Blu Hotel in malis capital were rushed to safety after gunmen in a toyota suv with diplomatic plates blew through a security barrier and started shooting. This hotel worker said the terrorists shot at anything that moved. Other witnesses said the men shouted god is great in arabic and that they also spoke both french and english. American anita datar was among the nearly two dozen who died in the Early Morning assault. The two gunmen were also killed. More than 100 others were held hostage. The u. S. State Department Said about a dozen of its employees were rescued after Security Forces went door to door. U. S. Forces helped to evacuate some of the hostages during the 7hour long siege. At least one i know of that listed in helping just simply move people, physically move people that were trying to escape the hotel and get them to a secure location.
