2015 is on track to have the lowest number of traffic fatalities in iowa in years. As of today 316 people died in traffic accidents on iowa roads. Thats down 5 fatalities from last year. And one lower than 2013. In 2010, 390 people died on iowa roadways. Des Moines Police looking for the gunman who shot a teenager in the chest. The shooting happened just before 2 00 near 1300 clock of east 14th street. Des Moines Police say the teenager was shocked in the chest shot in the chest, then driven by a car to a des moines hospital. The teenagers name and condition have not been released. So far no arrests. An update on the manhunt for a man accused of shooting a woman in the neck. U. S. Marshals captured 29yearold james butler junior in chicago. Des Moines Police say back on may 29 butler showed up at an exgirlfriends home. Then shot the exgirlfriend and another man at the home. Both survived. Butler now faces attempted murder charges. A woman who was sexually assaulted in a Downtown Hotel is her attacker her room key. The attack happened april 10, 2014 at the embassy suites. The man responsible, christopher lapointe, is serving 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to sex abuse and burglary charges last year. 45 members of the Iowa National guard will leave for missouri to help with flood relief. The soldiers will help with purification and transport of fresh water. More than 20,000 missouri residents are without Potable Water because of the flooding. The guard members will come from camp dodge, oelwein and cedar rapids. And head to high point missouri in east central missouri. The pictures there are just amazing. Kurtis all this water across the midwest. If you look at the weather metro we have a record smashing record with the precipitation we got in december. The old record was demolished. All afternoon, the line to get on board stretched for about 2. 5 hours. And of the tour takes another hour. But fans are soaking up every minute. If you fly a hawkeye fan flag anywhere in you will find crowds. We were the first people in, now there is no way they can get in because the line is huge. This resident has been to four hawkeye rose bowls. This made him feel like he is 20 again. I feel good all over. It is so good in the heart. To have this turnout today is beyond words. Mrs. Double, if not triple this is double if not triple the crowd size we have had. All posing for pictures by the guns and plugging their years for the blasts. Fire in the hole. [applause] it is like this all over los angeles. They are living a black and gold lifestyle 1700 miles from home. I do not know how the economy will survive with nobody at home. It is pretty rare to see a good team that does not have a good senior class. I know that these guys want to close out their careers on a high note and i am sure that the it will be a great contest. The roses parade actually came first in 1890, then the game in 1902, so this is a big deal. We came across a very Interesting Group of iowans that has a very cool job. Go hawks. They are called the pedal pushers, a group that has been coming out to pasadena and what the 44 floats you will see in the tournament of roses parade. They do it in pedals, everything you see on the floats has to be alive or at one point was alive. You see them go by on television and you think it is beautiful. Into the flow. San Antonio Police say boykin was fighting with employees at a bar. When officers responded, police say he swung a punch at an officer. Hes being held on 5,000 bond. Boykin is well known to iowa state fans this season. Especially after this picture of boykin bending over to talking to talk to cyclone kid captain abby faber when tcu came to ames back in october. An iowa lawmaker says he plans money. An Iowa Senate Bill failed to pass the house. House representative Jake Highfill from polk county says he hopes to rework that bill to get more support. That includes setting an age limit, setting regulations and tax provisions. However, jasper representative dan kelley says he opposes the move. He compares fantasy gaming to regular gambling. The Powerball Jackpot has grown to the 12th largest in its history. There was no winner in saturdays drawing last nights drawing, so saturdays drawing will be for at least a 205 million prize.
