Yeah I mean we talked about last time the Fargo's huge an obviously we've had some movement since then with that it did you know a handful of things one big thing that was a lot of the big money from Wall Street other places that was sitting on the sideline waiting on a more clear cut legal path is now coming into the game and I'm getting calls every day from folks that want to where to invest how to set a start something processing a business a brand whatever that's happening I think with the passing of the farm bill it's it's made the u.s.d.a. Kind of act we saw our commissioner Rod corals here in Kentucky was the 1st state to submit our program which has to be approved by the u.s.d.a. And then can go back to operating similar to the pilot programs but obvious with a lot more commercialization now because a little bit more freedom and more safer investments I would say and then you know really for the farmer what this does is now we were having conversations about crop insurance with the right folks who have been conversations with government grants and things like that for the university than for even for these farms and tax credits something like that are starting to open up just like hemp is a normal business because that's what it should be that's definitely what it is now says you're certainly seeing a lot of those doors open up and in the Big Bang that I think we've seen even if you go to support dot com You can see Johnson Miller's latest update from d.c. On Monday where he spoke to the Association for agriculture commission so all the different commissioner some elected some appointed from the 50 states get together every quarter and our commission Iran Coral's the vice president group and they made this meeting was obviously to discuss the farm bill but the big big topic and a hot topic with anything these days seems was hemp and we were lucky enough to have the Food Drug Administration's chairman Scott Gottlieb was there and made some interesting new statements are being seen that the f.d.a. Come out and say c.b.d. This city that give guidance and really scare a lot of retailers and consumers for that matter that city was one day going to be bad or only be pharmaceutical I think as I've been preaching for years now this is the. You know you can't put toothpaste back in the 2 kind of situation and now we've seen the World Health Organization and different folks come out in support of impacts tracks and c.b.d. And I think that the aids now realizes they have to regulate it they're looking for the best way to do it his statement I think is an indicator that they're going have to move on this fast because a couple weeks ago there was 12 senators the regular the f.d.a. Urging them to figure this out obviously the senators are from states like Oregon and Kentucky and Colorado where the hemp a tree is alive and well and and they're not dumb they know that 80 to 90 percent of those crops being grown are for hemp extract or c.b.d. Production and if the f.d.a. Was a somehow you know cabbage that the. Industry would fall so out of place and so they're trying to support the industry the f.d.a. Has now got their marching orders from Senator McConnell and some other folks that they need to figure this out I think we're going to see what I've referred to for years now as as Swim Lang's in terms of hemp extracts of what determines a dietary supplement what you know are they going to allow him c.b.d. Or hemp extracts in food and then there's the other issues down the line like it's a positive Henri's and smokable him cigarettes and things like that that are little bit more murky and I think we'll have some hopefully in the next in the 2nd quarter early 3rd quarter we'll have some real clear cut clarification because the farm bill from the f.d.a. Now this was a national bill obviously but do the states still have any way to kind of override the federal legislation and creating their own hemp rules yet everything any industry or law or anything the states have their states rights obviously always give the example that in Kentucky we make all the world's bourbon and there's 120 counties and 16 have me can't buy bourbon it goes even further than the states your local counties and municipalities could have their own rules and regulations as well and different subject something some of them are silly some of them are based in conservative pockets or liberal pockets of the state or different states so yes that's certainly a thing but. I think what the the federal bill you mention the farm bill is a federal bill that a lot of states are really waiting on that to look for guidance because there are so many consumers and retailers and processors and hopefully farmers and I would say ground that are in support of this and obviously in support of him backtracks and so I think it obviously put a little pressure maybe a little confidence in the state legislature to say Ok We're going to figure this out too but it is definitely you know the federal bill is a step in one right direction the states have to do the same thing both on the for the farmer and for the retailer the reason I asked is I know it's not a schedule one anymore but I've heard that it was still a Schedule 5 or something I'm not sure exactly what that means but you know is it totally legal the farm bill states that have products which defined as you know any product coming from illegal have source remaining under point 2 percent t.h.c. Is federally legal obviously states have their own issues the their own opinions but they're even in those states where they have an opinion that hey maybe this is illegal or this need to look that there's not a whole lot of force that going on at the stores are a little weary because they don't want to cop come in and seizing product or money or even worse giving a citation for something like marijuana distribution but that's you know with any new industry you're going to have hurdles that are going to have to get through some of the roadblocks and I think that's what that is to say is it completely legal or not I mean you know that's because I you talk to obviously I think that the argument for legality is 10 times stronger than the larger argument for illegality no matter where you are obviously because it is safe and we've got 2 studies in the World Health Organization all that stuff to back us up but you know I think there's a there's also a safety issue there's a lot of products out there on the market that people are making that don't have what they say they have on there not being tested they've got heavy metals it all comes the garbage and who knows maybe that synthetic c.b.d. Which is we've known from the synthetic marijuana how ugly that can get so. There is a lot of confusion there's a there's definitely some bad actors out there but then there's a group of folks and even bigger than this specific group but a group of folks that are that are trying to do this the right way and so what the roundtable did you know Sam Brown they were somehow the president of the board we created the u.s. Hemp authority which is essentially another seal of approval you know you can get g.m.o. You can get organic kosher certified this was because they had been history does have this these murky waters and we wanted to provide some guidelines for the smaller businesses that they could afford but also some got the didn't you know push out the small business or the small farmer and they were able to get that seal of approval by going through an audit making sure they're using g.m.p. So you wouldn't say this year we probably get more questions about just about any other topic that is an absolute statement I think it's been going down that road for a couple of years now an issue when you and I started talking to c.v. Sciences and having Stewart on and Josh coming on the show and Dr Shoni and all these other amazing guess we were in part of the newer regulation era where people were unsure they didn't know what it was so sometimes and people don't understand something and they don't know what it is they immediately think oh I don't know this better stay away from that but to watch how it truly has evolved in the last couple of years is massive to see the amount of health food store supporting it the city amount of visibility that you're getting and I love that Josh referenced why they brought up the u.s. And that the products we're making so we have to play ball with them and we want you know as an industry I want them to be involved I want them to say look here's the path to legality here's the path to quality here's the path to you know assuring the consumer that they're getting what they pay for and that you know the labels are either the quality there there's no heavy metals all that stuff you mentioned earlier that's vitally important to this industry and so working with the f.d.a. Not against them is going to be huge room for well then I have to 2nd about again I it's so important and it's. The health food stores that need the education I mean I work with several people in my area and they you know because it's such a hot topic Josh I mean there's so much c.b.d. Now on the market everybody is seems to be putting out their own products and I hear it all the time always have a new one come in and they say this and they say that and it's like the stores don't know they don't know how to judge the quality of the efficacy or whatever it happens to be and and having that seal somehow letting them know just what the standards are would help because again the bad actors can spoil the whole thing I mean if they keep coming in and they find all this junk in the stuff it's going to be smart something that needs a lot of good publicist he going forward now you're I mean you're 100 percent right you know it's a good salesman can sell anything whether that's a used car brand new Mercedes that sells are going to get it selling it one way or the other and so to your point you know the the retailers have really had to be the gatekeeper so far obviously there's a lot of stuff flying around online in different places but these health food stores because this is a conversation category you know people that buy the video online end up going to health circles they want to talk to a human they want to say hey here's why I think I should take it or here here's what I'm trying it what I'm dealing with here you know here's my life here's my history my health history expander and those employees at the store and store owners what they are our education portion we do a lot of education public talks and online and that kind of stuff and try to do our best that we're probably the best in the business but a lot of it is educating those stores so that they can talk about it you know from a good standpoint and not just our product they became multiple wives and they are able to talk about c.b.d. You know that's been audited you know it's been tested for the all the basic stuff and then you can make a decision based on what your customer base wants maybe you have a favorite brand maybe you know whatever boil teaser broker even then you can kind of make a decision based on that that was kind of the gold that's an excellent tool I mean that's the direction that we need to go as education making sure we're sticking with in regulation and moving forward and offering quality and I love it because I think initially like 4 and a half years ago 4 years ago when we started talking about it people would come to man it be like hey Kelly do you think you can get me some of that stuff and I'll be like you can get it yourself you know what I mean it's like it was like this whispering thing where I became all my neighbors started the whole Eleanor told me you gave her some type of spray and it's been helping her sleep do you know where I could get some and it just became this whispering thing in the beginning and I think that's really what made a hut is that people were confused about it and they wanted to take it they were looking for something now and then when you started talking about the end Ok now Benoit system and how we're meant to take in certain different compounds like the ones found in their hands Dr c.v.t. Oil Facebook page and you always have these fantastic educational articles or videos that feature people or just give more information about maybe that people are looking for and I watch this awesome video featuring a Kentucky farmer his name is Joseph Kelley and he mentioned something within that that I found very interesting and he said hemp offers 5 different uses financially for me the farmer 5 products and one plant essentially is you know exciting because if you look at something like corn or soy or you know even tobacco those are generally one use type of situation so what do you think about that that's pretty impressive for farmers and also for our economy long term when you say Josh Yeah I will preface this what he meant by total you're not going to grow get one have plan and actually get 5 different pieces out of it realistically because because if you if you try to get all the pieces all the pieces would be you know 20 percent quality as opposed to $100.00 right what a lot of folks are looking at what we do is a door so we use the aerial parts so we don't actually separate out the seeds because there's simply process through our process but the 4 of them. And the seeds in the stems all go in to. You know all go into what are material that we use to make the extract in the stock is still harvested for the fiber in those composite materials you'll have dual harvest where people are only getting the seed and the cyber or the seed in the flour but usually you're talking about 2 options. In Europe they get a government check from the government too so they get a 3rd but. You know you're really limited to 2 uses I do know you try cropping which would be getting all 3 of those parts of the I mentioned seed stock and flour is really really not even close to happening on any kind of scale so densely fiber and for a material model or the fiber and seed model or the seed or material model are possible but once you get past split in 2 ways you kind of lose a lot of value there but you know to your point you know what farmer wouldn't want to grow a crop that they can sell the 2 different people as opposed to one and the crops that were time out so way corn and things like that the one these crops the price on those is quite significantly lower than the price of even one of those options so when he had another one and he had the fact that both are higher price value the farmers really excited I know there are there is an agricultural I mean an organic agricultural hemp but for those who are using or organic methods I mean is it still is heavily sprayed for example it does corn or soy it would be if they're following organics No and that's a that's a very good point something I try to make pleated I try to make with people to understand with him is that yes they're certified organic land and there's now certified organic chem products coming out of the u.s. They're just starting to you start to see them but him grown commercially conventionally is still technically grown organically because there aren't any pesticides herbicides that are approved for him to see legally can't spray any chemicals on and while I know. We need you know organic and not terrible chemicals would certainly make we passed are always going to be a problematic culture and there's healthy and sustainable ways to prevent those and I think that's the point we want to make here is that with him you know even though we've had the unfortunate experience of it being outlawed for 72 plus years we also have an opportunity now to start fresh and this is something that can help rebuild our soil but also something that we don't have to Monsanto or Gee about we can do go about this the right way we can learn the lessons we've learned with other crops and utilize the beer and have that opportunity or really that start with organic farming and organic practices because there's just no chemicals that are proof that this is a huge advantage and so we're going to learn lessons the hard way but we're also going to figure out a more sustainable reliable ways to grow this crop and I think that's only going to benefit the whole agricultural community are a product of choice on the show as Plus c.b.d.
