A woman saved her life last night in New Orleans because she had a gun and she knew how to use that gun she shot her husband as he beat her and tried to strangle her in their home investigators did not book her with a crime after they questioned her she was 29 years old her husband she is 29 years old her husband was 27 years old according to the sheriff's office the wife called 911 just before 9 o'clock and reported that she'd shatter husband in their home. Deputies showed up at the home and the husband had been shot multiple times he died at the scene deputies took the wife into custody they brought her down to be interrogated the woman cooperated with investigators provided a detailed and well documented history of physical and psychological abuse at the hands of her husband and although the woman had not previously disclosed any the views to law enforcement friends or family she was able to provide a significant amount of corroborating evidence to back up her statements the woman said that her husband had beaten her. And was attempting to strangle her when she was able to reach for a gun in a drawer and shoot him sheriff's office said the woman displayed multiple physical injuries that corroborated her account of being beaten with an attempted strangling her name has been withheld under Louisiana law by the way people who have reasonably believed that their lives are in imminent danger can legally kill to defend themselves and that's what happened in New Orleans a good gal with a gun defended herself she's being beaten by her husband her husband's trying to strangle her thank God. Thank God she had a gun with which to save her life I suppose the reason I love these stories and they happen all the time. Is because I hear from so many people who stay on and are stuck on this month's raw that that thing called the gun is somehow inherently bad. Then we hear from so many people and I don't even know by the way that matter did mean don't even know if this wife had her permit to carry don't even know if she was really trained in how to use a firearm all I care about is this husband this bad guy this evil guy was trying to kill a wife and she was able to grab a gun and shoot him so all I care about he's dead she's alive that's all I care about that's a good thing that's a damn good thing and everybody around the country should rejoice and celebrate even all the gun haters out there and the gun grabbers out there ought to celebrate that a 29 year old woman in New Orleans is alive tonight because she used a gun Thank God it's a good story with a good ending because of a firearm.
