Jessica, ffa is an organization that allows High School Students the opportunity to work on whats known as a supervised agriculturalexperience or sae for possible future careers in agriculture. There are several categories of the sae, ranging from livestock production, crop production, agricultural sales, and etc. But today, we see more women involved with the agricultural organizationonnd taking on jobs that were once thought of as only for men. Kellie einck, a south obrien student from primghar received the National Proficiency award in the category of agricultural mechanics and repair and maintenance during last weeks national ffa convention. Einck says the proficiency award honors a student fofotheir supervised agricultural experience, and is one of the highest honors awarded. The proficiency award is. There are about 50 categories, all agrelated. Mine was won in ag mechcanics repair and maintenance placement. Theres placement and enterprenuership categories that you work for somomne, or own yououown and the proficiency your skills and growth, and passion in your award much as who makes it does count the money made, the hours worked, and in y yr application. But the awawd is more based on growth and development in an ag field. Dennis einck says she grew up in town as opposed to a farm, but always enjoyed diesel trucks, and working on those trucks. Both needed a simple majority to pass. 4 Buena Vista County communities extended the use of a 1 cent sales tax. Storm lake, lakeside, rembrandt and alta all approved an indefinate extension.
