An iowa dirt track racer is the reigning National Champ of the modified division. And hes from right here in sioux city. Driver Chris Abelson goes against some of the best in the industry. And after a failed 2014 attempt at the title. Hes now a National Champion. Abelson won the National Title in the modified division. Which is the Largest Division in the International Motor contest association. Abelson says knowing how to break out of a tight space. Is the difference between winning and losing. Its more the manuevering in between cars youre racing inches apart from thats what kind of makes it a challegne, said Chris Abelson jessica rae for the full time mechanic. Racing is just a hobby. And while he enjoys the rush of winning. Abelson says he returns to the track for other reasons.
