I really kind of did it my dedicated myself to anything that I signed up for I want to give you know the 200 percent and I've learned that from sports yeah you know just having that sort of perseverance and as I'm learning a lot of people these days you know I do the health stuff but I'm learning that people have a lot of like mental challenges you into and balance and it's becoming more prevalent now as I go to talk to universities in corporate places and government offices and I'm learning that people are really really struggling with that and so the reason why should all the challenges that I had my career is that you just got to continue to persevered and be resilient life will punch you in the face you know the universe will punch you in the face for every action there's an equal and opposite reaction so you have to live push through and keep that determination and keep it all work and that teamwork because you know nor can do by themselves and together every which is more true yeah 100 percent on that and you know even when it comes to like cannabis which is what the shows and educational games show like we try to educate people and use it responsibly because sometimes even if with anything right people overdo it but like with struggles in life since you're an athlete as well as an actor an entrepreneur sometimes you want to injure the good ticket to Tito Ortiz then I'm a fighter was on our show about 3 weeks go and he was talking openly about how he almost got addicted to painkillers because he was injured so much and they kept feeding it to him and when he was like like having withdrawals and he was like I can't ever do this he more than likely mentally he was able to get himself out of it right unfortunately not everyone can so like we always time like c.b.d. The issues that they went through or so going through mentally I think more people do need to speak out about that to help other people who might be struggling with the same thing who think while never be successful because of the hand I was dull or because I feel this way all the time or I think it's really important to speak on the euro. Industries going Yeah you know we're in Southern California too we've had a lot of you know athletes that people can't put their name under the rug but like Jr say our lives had been some there's a lot of athletes who've you know taken their life because of the imbalance that they're having not really being able to find that solution that sort of creates that restores that youth mentally physically in their body because they are in pain and they are suffering they are living in agony and you know it's important that we as a culture you know drive the industry toward real healing you know and that's you know that's why we're here and transform suffering for all have you had any c.b.d. Any any products that you view of personally or t.c. That you like but as far as that's benefited you well you know I have a huge social health initiative you know a lot of our stuff is about to cross the $1000000.00 view Mark 1000000 views mark so I think people come to me for a lot of you know just overall wellness and you know I'm a big advocate for doing things in the natural or space Yeah absolutely so you know my workouts are simple and easy and low and you know we have a global community out here so there's certain things that we can get in Southern California that maybe the whole global audience you know can get so I'm all about just wellness says you know that's attainable for the consumer globally career. So you know one of the things like you know think about traveling you know a lot of us love flying planes but some people are actually afraid of flying and planes and that's kind of how it is with you know the working in the c.b.d. T.h.c. We live in it's like only when your arms fall and fall for there's a tumor that's the size of a baseball are you then going to your medical professional and specially specially for African-Americans out there with the hope to ski progress there in fear of going to see their medical professional you know like is what they're doing for their gender or for my wants and my health and so I try and you know bring that preventive wellness and healing to everybody in their doors that and making it very attainable for them and accessible for them to do wherever they are in the world I love that that's the key word that I had in my head we said was preventive people wait so there's an issue wait till something's happening till they take action things like stuff like all natural like stuff that carries I'm sure and I know we have it literally what it does it just prevents issues from happening you don't have to be the you can be proactive and that's the thing like if you if most people stop eating fast food and claim in a way that you're really your body is asking for a craving or less people would need to go to the doctor redirect your body's self healing and you know what that is what help people eat when my doctor explained this to me so essentially 99 percent of us are eating to this war call our swell point and the swell point is when you're eating food and then you feel like your stuff and you like Ok I'm done and we're not educated that you can be eating to your nutritional point which is if you were to eat I don't know spin age or broccoli or things that are healthy your brain would say I have enough nutrients Now I'm no longer hungry but we think about it like that's not enough food because that's how we were educated like I need the whole pizza or the whole hamburger to feel stuff as opposed to you couldn't eat those calories and spinach or rice serviceable you really couldn't you know you could need 4000 calories in vegetables your body brain would say Ok I'm done and we've got to educate people on that 100 percent on that and and it's interesting to have the whole chemical boom happened will and what was like 920 thank you started. Adding different type of fillers and preserve it isn't our food and then it was the whole boom of it like from brands like Kirkland they can find a cost going accent or right so everything is in as pure and fresh so it's very unfortunate like I always said if God put certain types of plants on our planet there's a reason for it it's natural healing why do we have to change it up and change it up him used to be in everybody's diet back in a long time ago you know 2 cows you see it used to be and there used to be and different things that we had to make shirts with that yeah you eat everything too because on set it's like there's someone going on you've been in so many movies like I can only imagine like everyone's like Oh so we have her on said today rice and potatoes was probably like bleached potatoes from some catering company here I like know everyone let me teach you something yeah I mean I pretty much just ask the catering people and I asked the craft service we need vegetables so the next time you think I'm trying to save lives here Gary body is on you go to the grocery store tomorrow you know bring the berries bring the carrots Marine the celery bring the you know slice lemons with like the yellow peppers like bring all the stuff that's the colorful stuff because that's what I want my crew eating too I mean if you're eating the donuts and all the brown stuff in the black and white stuff you're going to have these like spikes where you're up and then you crash and then you're up and then your crash not actually deteriorates everyone's work ethic while we're working 16 hour days so you know I just I does ask and they tell me no that I just ask again is keep asking around trying to help you so I don't know like I've gotten a move in my brother People just got listen and yeah Yeah well you've been in so much you've been in t.v. Shows as well I mean the t.v. Shows you've been in c.s.i. Miami Veronica Mars and c.i.s. There's so many There's see as I now New York even in eyes on me which is pretty cool family time and even with the movies that we mention courtship Coach Carter and so much more so you worry we're even in an audition today so like you. Now with so many different personalities you play are there any that are just like harder than others you were just in a movie called kinky that's actually what it was called I don't know to me that was very 50 Shades of Grey or whatever so that must have been a little bit like risque and I don't know what has been the hardest role for you I think all of you know most of the challenge you know sort of you have to convert yourself into this other person that's real and sometimes they do exist you know Damon Carter was a real person I have a new movie coming Our called California Love You know it's about this gangster named Jay hunter who was the head of Hoover crip real dude in all the people who were the Crips who were underneath him are still alive and his you know wife his woman is the producer so there's that challenge of can you fill the shoes of this character and you know I just take that with you know the of Morse like importance and I really just kind of dive into it give her meet some of the real characters like the real people that you're playing Yeah I do often actually when you're studying the people that you're actually going to be playing in the films or t.v. Shows to feel like there's more pressure in trying to like make sure that you get their personality right. I have like 3 jobs you know like the 1st job is like really entertain the audience at home and a college that be my focus in my spearhead there's certain things that you live that this is not entertaining to anybody watching at home is not going to do that you know but then you know the 2nd thing is being true to the d.n.a. Of the origin of where that character came from and once a real person really trying to drive home what the essence of them is that you're doing going to sort of morphed into this thing that is straight entertainment that makes people laugh to make people feel like mad energetic and then like the 3rd thing which is the least important thing is the work that I'm going to leave behind that's my legacy you know and I do. Is sort of that you know push pull and I get into that zone that a lot of people question my intentions which has been one of my challenges in my business you know it's the same sort of challenges that Kobe Bryant had while playing in the league which is you know they call him the mamba but they also call him the black hole and it's like if you pass the ball to cope with you get the ball back you know it was mentality is you know when you arrive in the gym at 6 am I've been in the gym since 3 am. So the work that you're doing I've already tripled that in the daytime and so with that discipline comes these breakthroughs that people don't understand it's the same breakthroughs that Galileo is having a says you know what gravity affects all the same because that wasn't the narrative before it's the same you know narrative that a Tesla has the same narrative that the people who discover the power of him then they're saying you're a weirdo you know weirdoes does that have works in a lot of versatile ways it's multi you know focal in it can solve a lot of different things and has multi purpose and so when you're a trailblazer and when you're an innovator you have to be able to push through those shackles that society that emotions that people were challenging your intellect for that greatness in you know for the people who one while they were alive everyone's patting them on the back but some people aren't as Michelangelo to vent she'd go out with some people they didn't win while they were alive Isaac Newton didn't win while he was alive it was only after they were dead people were like oh he had all these great ideas come the fire he was dead right you know so I sort of have that challenge where you know a lot of actors. They don't really relate to how I think of it you know I think of acting like a math problem correctly you know they're like it's not a formula it's creativeness my ball a lot of things are formulas I agree with you actually it is kind of like formulae because you need to know what's working what's not and there's so much like memorization when it comes to acting and why you have to memorize everything and it depends if you're director or the writer is now I can't say the word but is really really nit picking if you just mess up one little thing in Long story short it is very tedious so it takes your brain a lot of focus just like if you're solving into a math equation or anything it's a lot of focus and really getting deep into that character and you're absolutely right and you know when there are the directors that are very you know detail oriented and very specific about words or having marks or doing things under those parameters we as actors have to sort of create this thing called a situation in which And it's like imagine that you were going to know walking through Mario Brothers and you got to miss all the fireball to get to the next level you know so you got to do the dance and go backwards and forwards and dog in the jump over. To the right because that's how you win that level and go to the next level go to the game and so the director has those specifics then it's not an easy day but I have to do that dance to satisfy him while still being true to the other business I have which is to the character and true to my art yeah man I like success is never easy for anybody that's like oh they have a good there's success when it's like Ok interesting I don't think it's to be successful the especially for you that that's always working takes a lot of time no preparation I think for all of us to like you know the harder you work in the more consistent that you work. Your body starts building up the reflex of success Yeah and that's when things start to become more just automatic or like your reflexes just the right answer and being acceptable like I think the crazy thing about you is you've taken on so many different types of role. Those and still perform so well at them are appreciate that here I'm d.b. Is very versatile you have a lot of pain it's everywhere it's just shows that you're like you know what you're doing you're really good at your craft and so speaking of adapting what about this you know what's happening in our industry in the green world like Let's talk about that I mean a lot of businesses are being pushed around a little bit and talking about you know the parameters that are being put on by the legislative by the state the federal law to get in that a little bit that's exactly true because what happened is was it January 1st 2018 it became record recreational legal but there's still just a lot of problems there it's. A huge mess in now there's so many different like licenses out there but they're only given out a portion of it and not only that it's like 7075 percent of cities and counties in California don't even allow it so what's the point of having the California approving it while so many counties are so against it yes I have an excess a bill Chris talk they have to do an Inland Empire because they want to allow it in Orange County l.a. Like if you have to drive 4050 miles to go to your nearest license shop how does that make it possible for someone who has cancer or something has chronic pain that need that how do they have access will so like Weed Maps Let's speak about that so it's just the Apple website you go to you can take your area your zip code delivery services your local shops so now they're getting pressured to basically only have licensed companies on there that really does a device disservice for the little guy that's literally just trying to make a living and not only that make it accessible for everybody that needs to get it so what that happening I mean they're maybe they're having a huge cut I mean like 25 percent of the they're making a budget cuts in like a 100 employees are like losing their jobs nothing secure but it's just not the right thing to do to that not just the company but actually for the patients and the people out there that want to consume properly is just not said. Right now for the best interests of the consumer Well there's so much great area too because we're talking with a few other people on the show that there is also companies that aren't junior right importunately because they can't afford the taxes they can afford for all the premium costs of having a candidate coming just like having a restaurant if you don't want to have people consume something you want to make sure they don't get sick but there's people cutting corners unfortunately because it is expensive or even just individuals buying things really scary oh people buy the pens like Santee Alley like knockoff meat pens and they're getting sick they come from China not see anything bad about this kind of insane it's not regulated here from the f.d.a. And that's why that's a that's where they're going to capitalize the black market is going to start driving even more is when you literally cut out steaming all these cities and counties that don't allow it like what's going to happen they're going to get it from somebody and that not only makes the black market dry but also the quality is going to go down the vapor cartridge epidemic that's going on it literally is coming from people taking advantage of the laws that are going on in the state of health for the thing and I don't know if you guys saw the news recently but recently. Somebody went like undercover to one of these sessions that happens that is underground that is illegal and went to each of the vendors talked to them got them all on camera 2 was asking are these legitimate products like are these legal products and everything and the other person is like yeah they're good they're good so then they went back to the car and like checked out each of the products it was definitely a lot of these underground black market companies that were cut with a lot of illegal products and that weren't what they were saying that they were to be but they were cheap and they were like We spent. $35.00 all of this product Yeah that's not how it's supposed to be there's counterfeits out there and then there's also a legal companies that literally have to pay so much taxes and the way it's operating they're losing money so what happens there than the back door they're selling still their products low key people to be able to kind of make some kind of profit so they don't go under so I mean there's just a lot as well as I think any effects I see I mean unfortunately it's someone passed away from having of a pen and a lot of heavy metals and things like that and he may because he can afford those $60.00 he bought one for $15.00 That's the size and now we have this whole thing with cartridges about to be banned and we have all these things with the nicotine vapor is all about to be banned because of these situations of people being cheap and people trying to cut corners and it's not fair to these people who put the time in the work into it to these legal companies than now it's all for nothing because a couple people here think about that if you're going to cut all they part as is and somebody paid so much money to have a license shop you're telling me a big portion of their sales they can't sell this item that they worked hard to make sure it's like diet pills verses. You know some ghetto diet pill that had like all these chemicals and it's like no I just think it's just they wanted to make it more mainstream they want to make a legit but the way it's gone are now is just it's far from it yeah your show to you guys are being so well educated all this stuff and that's that's one thing I appreciate that that's one thing that we're huge about is that we're all about quality anybody that comes to us visits or websites had our products I mean it's just the feedback is all wrong because we never cut corners and you laser beautiful you guys are smart to make that circular. But you know what you are really talking about is in justice you know we have those injustices that exist in all of our history you know and the one thing that I can relate to is when I was a kid and my elementary school our principal brought this lady named Rosa Parks Oh really when our elementary school it's pretty cool you know and the rules are. You know sit in the back of the bus you darkie you know and then use one day just like I'm not going to and then there's that you know that's the beginning of that activism of being like we've got to band together and say that this is wrong and there's going to be a 1000000 Man March and then will be the last one you know absolutely so it's like we're in this greenwash right now we're getting pushed around it's like you know you go out the swing back and we have to sort of band together and really be a team because there might be a 1000000 man March for the green rush you know you gotta hold your ground you know so yeah so that's what we're all talking about yeah just kind of fix the what's regularly and what's not to make sure people are safe and I always use comparison same with restaurants you want to make sure where you're eating is clean it's regulated but the same time it sucks when they're taking advantage and taxing them like crazy so I think you need to be a whole new reform on it and to add on for the state of California with the whole issue with getting clean products and all natural is that there's over 6000 available licenses between manufacturing licens distribute distribution and there's only like 875 they've given out so when you're talking about who's the bad guy who's holding things back it's definitely not us it's that the not the black market not the legal companies that are already doing it correctly it's none of us it's literally everybody trying to do the right thing there I know so many people personally who's trying to do it the right way get a building get the lies and go and literally no response to get put on the backburner they have the money that is you don't want to do it correctly but if they don't get it out how are we going to break the stigma of these illegal they pardners anything because you know with over 75 percent of the counties and cities in the California not even allowing it on top of them not having all I mean there's just it's a huge problem when I think people need to go to their city council and band together for that because in the end like it's not California's government as a whole it's each single county and that in itself and that's yeah that's the part where I think it has to work together they have say you know what I know you don't want your city but you know what.
