My. Sit back. Home Soon Loma Linda 10 15 am one of 61 followed f.m. And now 102.3 f.m. . Martin Truex Jr starts the playoffs with the victory at Chicago land definitely excited to build a can the 1st round of playoffs again this year in the capital for the win and Col Bush has that it proved blues These are our top stories tonight plus we will talk with the regular season x. 30 champion Elliott Sadler We've got his awesome brother Hermie Sadler n.p.r. And all Alexis Perkins right here on fast it's fast talk on the performance racing network brought to you by Toyota for the latest Toyota racing information visit Toyota Racing dot com wittes How do you select the right oil filter go to which filters dot com and Advance Auto Parts Let's get you back on the road now here's your host for fast talk Doug Rice as always thrilled to have you listening to this edition of fast talk goes by in the blink of an eye you drive back from Daytona you think and the season's going to last forever you look up and suddenly we're in the playoffs and Round one is done and it belongs to Martin Truex Jr We'll talk more about what's going on the cup side a little bit later on but now this coming week p.r. In has the 1st playoff race in the expanded series at Kentucky Speedway we're thrilled to be talking with the regular season champ Elliott Sadler So what do you get for being a regular season Champ Bailey we get 15 bonus points. Now you have a lot we got last year. And I will be in at the banquet last. Year it last summer when you being on a look you know it would be nice to give the regular season change. Some kind of a oh so you never came. Anything really joking because we were reckless even translating to us but it's cool how they put it all into place this year and so we love being the inaugural regular season champion comic sanity very proud of that and hoping some of that momentum can go to the playoffs Elliott I know you I was with you most of your journey last year all the way to homestead it came down to a fan a restart you came one position short it looks like from from my view of you you and your team are handling things a little bit differently this year I don't know whether it's confidence or calmness so whatever so my question is What did you learn from last year if anything that you're adjusting about the way you prepare or your team is preparing for this holiday and the home state. Yeah Herman I think the biggest thing we learned. It's all about homes the and maybe last year weather was going to reckless even more as the place for spring we probably met let myself either get a little bit for a highest of highs and maybe something a little bit too low if that was because you have got a racing season. A lot of different peaks and valleys and what I found out it really none of that really matters and I'll get the home just the way the new points system is played out and how the playoffs work you gotta have everything in store and ready to go when you get home state so that's kind of what we've learned the team that we took from last year our preparation is still very good my team does a really good job with that Kevin does an amazing job of keeping the best cars on rotation where we can use them but I just very mentally we're in a little bit different this year than then what we were last year hey Elliot I had just been curious you know you've raced for a lot of teams throughout your career what does it mean to be racing for a championship with a team that is an elite team and expanded the series and was able to put all 4 cars into the playoffs how you know how does that make you feel knowing that you have a team like that behind you heading into the playoffs well in it makes me feel good it goes back to some of the meetings that I had with the ailing Cali before I came over here to be with Junior motorsports and. What they had in mind and what they have planned for for the future and to trust in their decisions in the direction they were taking the team and it feels good to be able to do it with so many great guys doing amount of sports and with good buddies you know I've known bailing Kelly since we were teenagers so for us to be able to have the success we've had the last 2 years some I read off a stat I mean the other day I think 73 percent of the races I've driven from junior motorsports not been in 1st place in the points so that's something to be very very proud of it's very humbling at this time in my career. To still be very competitive week in and week out and to do it with friends it just means more work to you when you're able to had success with it with with your friends and your buddies like I am with Dale and Kelly and a lot of the people in the ration shop and on the race team so it is definitely a special time of my career the best time I've probably ever had in the seat of a race car and I definitely got a great support group around us and I think we're showing that I've got a race and we are able to put all 4 teams in the playoffs so you know hey into Kentucky and of course we're talking with Elliot Sadler the regular season champion in the Nascar expanded the series and I'm making a leap of faith here that I'm supposing that on Sundays you spend some time watching what's going on in the Cup series what's what's jumped off the page to you from over there this year well one of the biggest things jumped out to me is the speed of Montreux Jr in that entire team. They've been exposed on every different style of track you think how good it was at Richmond last week at a 3 quarter mile slick short track. And then show up to Chicago and have blazing speed again I think they really make in the highway that they're paving homes they are pretty easy one. That jumps off the page to me another thing to jump on me is one of my former teammates chase Elliott run he had been he didn't win the race but he showed a lot of speed a lot of maturity on restart then put it. Bad situations and work really really strong people told my injury my being gone through a slump you know I'm up but 2 ago it looked like this guy showed up with some speed in that car at the in the 48 and I think they're going to be fine to get up to that you never want to feel like you can use the f. Out of a whole 1st race so I think the teams that got put their best foot forward to going to have a little bit better a week of preparation and by little bit more sleep each and every night before they hit the New Hampshire but they let me more insurrection say Sally what do you think this did at me. And you know we both watched been watching racing our whole life but has evolved in changed so much when used you think about these finity series which you used to think was was because we had less tires to work with less sets of tires less pit stops you always need to be good own long runs or you know a long fuel rod or he cycles on tires but it seems like the Cup races and also the extent of the races always seem to come down to restarts So how do you as a driver in your crew chief engineer how do you focus on being good in heaven good speed for a longer run but also being able to get up and go oh want to green white checker all 8 race restart situation you know the f a really good question because I mean what we've learnt. Expected last couple years that caution is more likely than not come out toward the end of the right to set up some green white checkered or some short run show down to the thing. So we have changed the way that we look at our set ups we have changed way to approach that we gain a lot of that because it is state racing we now know when the brakes are coming we now know exactly when that next caution is coming we know exactly how many laps we're going to have to run on a set of tires. And they took all that question out of it and it just kind of shortened race in a different stance so what that means is the driver is gonna carom a change or feel you have to change with the times it's not all about how comfortable your car drives now make sure you're wearing each time I are exactly the same all the way around so it lasts longer Oh no on a long run it's all about what came out racing be aggressive with on restarts and still feel like I can run with these guys and hold on so it is definitely changed a mental outlook on the way we do things and I think my team has done a really good job with that help and we kind of helping each other on what we need communication was to make sure we would do it on on race day because the racing has changed a lot Doug had mentioned earlier about we're heading to Kentucky to kick off the playoffs for expanding the series p.r.n. Is going to have that Kentucky broadcast will also have Charlotte and Texas is there any one race that you look at coming up in the playoffs that you're circling that race and that racetrack and saying you know what I really think that we can make a difference at this place. Yeah well we always want to try to look at the next race and I hate that because that's not really a warning and it's not that it's coach speak. We're going to play I want to time yeah I want to time and but I you know I always look at the 1st rate trial so we're going to Kentucky this week and we were able to win this race last year and it just makes the rest of that round so much easier it is so hard to put in words what it does for the rest of the round that you're in if you win the 1st right it almost like you take 2 weeks all from a stress you know point of view so Kentucky is the next race you will look at it we're taking our best stuff there this weekend and see where we are on speed and honestly the next race we're looking at it you know it can't because can't the next great person rate up the next round and I really like the focus you know want to get to have you see if I really like to focus on that 1st race at the tryout to make sure you put your best foot forward so you cannot begin to out of the hole like I was alluding to earlier well I know one of the reasons you love racing in explaining the series is you get to spend a little more time at home and know you've coached basketball you've coached baseball you can softball and you tell me you got something going on tonight is baseball season not over for white yet no we had fun and all practice yesterday late yesterday afternoon we have traveled all practice tonight and we have our practice tomorrow night and we have. You coach a soccer team I am coaching Fokker too so this will be what do you know about soccer. I read it. Hey you got it you got to tell him the story about how mutual friends can and Watson who knows about soccer if you call him and told him I'm coaching soccer would I need to do tell everybody what he told you you know Herman I've got a great friend from phone be able Genya he's very knowledgeable about soccer so when I called him last year my 1st year as they had soccer. Can and I don't know a lot about this sport I mentor a little bit about about the airplane and how school some but I don't know really how to teach it the key is you know what is what is something I need to focus on he says all you need is a soccer trick. What is a soccer trick he said listen make sure you can do some type of soccer trick at the 1st practice and soon as everybody gets there make sure all the parents are watching. Do this trick and then no matter what happens they're going to hate that God knows a lot about soccer. And I think I did but I think the press practice though that that and I have a trick planned for tomorrow night it will allow hope that goes well since a lot like Tom Cruise in Days of Thunder when he says Do you know that stock car racing is e.s.p.n. Has incredible cover. Well Elliott Congrats We'll see you at the expense of the Media Day coming up tomorrow so look forward to that Congrats on the regular season championship and good luck on on chasing that real championship here in a few short weeks thank you so much for having me I know you want to really it's very humbling to be the regular season champ in the 1st one ever take that away and we got 7 right to make it happen man we want to be that champion like this is just as good a year ago ever have it become a Nascar to put it together and see what we got well good luck on check chasing that big trophy there Elliott saddler the regular season champion from the extent of the series by the way you can check out which filters Facebook Twitter and Instagram accounts for Nascar updates he talked a lot about being impressed by Martin Truex Jr We'll chat about Martin next year on fast talk if there's one thing the president Vance ought to know its parts Advance Auto Parts and battery is Karen Hi Karen I really need to change my oil we have 5 quarts of Castile g t x conventional or high mileage now only 2199 all my carries got about 82000 miles well Castro Hi Mike it's formulated for vehicles with over 75000 miles sounds good now in Advance Auto Parts 5 cords of Castro conventional or high mileage motor oil are just 2199 also at participating Carquest auto parts stores the store for details grind friction where descriptive words when it comes to an engine adding xemacs micro lubricant to your oil and fuel allows it to soak in the metal to disperse harmful. We'll spend a lot of time on the show talking about the races that just happened because by the time you hear it it's usually old news it's been a day if they were a Saturday night it's been a day and a half but we do have to look back a little bit at Chicago land Speedway where the winner got slimed in victory lane we're talking about Martin Truex Jr Hermie this is just become it's it's old news now this is his 5th when with a break or 2 he could have had 8 wins at this point in time is it easy to say that they've got they pretty much had the field covered any question I'd say you know it's the 8 it's the 78 and you can give the 18 you know kind of a honorable mention even though they hit him Tom a pure speed and alchemy race finishes I think the 18 if you take just roll speed in a race car you've got the 78 and you've got the 18 and maybe the 11 and then you know you know Coulson in there is will the rest of me throw a blanket over so and if he doesn't make he even look. He even dumb they like this in May They may state the mistake would if he goes to New Hampshire somewhere in doesn't have any mistakes they might be only tend to of course only Libby he's that phase but I've always looked at it a little bit different you know people want to complain I don't like this I don't like we've all you know 15 years ago Jeff Gordon won 10 races in a season and we see Jimmy Johnson I've always because I got a little bit of a sniff the in my career of how difficult it is to do what these guys are doing is some people make it look easy like they do nail but very very same in your career at times you catch everything like in a bottle like they've got right now you know and I've always appreciated it so I'd like to watch somebody be on top of the game sure it's not fun to watch somebody let the feel but to know where they are I really do have a lot of appreciation and respect for how that team has got to that point and be what they've overcome to get there when I was just going to say thank goodness he did get a speeding penalty because otherwise it would have been. A more natural we look at the ratio like we do with Kyle Bush in the expanded the series we hope he gets a shorty at some point so they can interact Yeah yeah Alexis I know you follow all the a lot of this through social media and you see what the trends are is is he the total package enough that he can be one of the centerpieces of the sport I think so yeah absolutely I mean he you know obviously he gets it done on the racetrack so there's there's no question about that you know he he gives a great interview he's got personality I also think you know his his family life has the story with him and Sherry and her struggles you know have really humbled them a lot and you can really see that you know their victory lane interview yesterday I'm not going to I got a little teary eyed it was it was emotional for them and for everybody else watching but I absolutely think he can be the full package Martin Truex you know that all of us in. Froome are privileged enough to know him on some level he is the guy that I wish that every race fan got a chance to get to know he is everything that we would hope to have in see in a Nascar champion I mean he's got the whole package and look he's had his ups and downs to get here and but right now he's on his game I mean he is absolutely at his peak and it's fun to watch you know I just think about last Wednesday Doug and I went to the Nascar Hall of Fame and did the Monster Energy Cup Series playoff media day and he came and sat down had a huge smile on his face this is after the whole you know Richmond debacle and everything that had happened to him there and Doug asked him you know when did you when did you let that go he said as soon as they got on their plane you know like he just I don't know he didn't because that face you know because they exactly but you know for him to come in and just he just is always smiling and always has a pleasant person attitude and that means a lot of times he's a joy to be or a I've talked with talked with all 16 of the drivers that are in the playoffs and I ask Bush I said are you you starting to own this. Black cat a little bit and he said yeah it's you know I'm going to make it mine because I'm asking to see if it glee about his reaction when he won at Bristol and they're booing him and he's out there like come on bring it on and he goes. That's who I am I will roll with it in a weird way that's going to make him more popular here because eventually. Before he retires he'll flip the switch and be the good guy just like they're all there I walked for years was Joe He was the the black cat the one he ran his mouth all the time he was always has something to say he was you know whatever in all of a sudden he and Rusty get tied up in here in the in the All-Star race and Rusty says his stuff there else is just a boom boom boom jump through few hoops and in their roles one of the fan favorites I guarantee you in the next Fast 6 years when cow starts to get to the last 34 years of his career he will flip the switch will have he had to be older all these things would change in a b. Just like Debbie Debbie wrestling you go from a heel to a baby face and he'll he'll bring over your backyard wrestling baby face red face who's the best babyface wrestler ever will hold those in you have to say from a fan in broad reaching standpoint Hogan stone Coast evolved in Iraq would be the 3 that probably touch the most people Shawn Michaels h.b. K. And then you've got guys like you know Ric Flair tele Blanchard's the Foresman yet just like Grayson. You've got to have some you have to have both you got to have both Yeah it's going to be fully effective you've got to have but you've got to have a heel got to have a baby face and a heel that people believe I think Tom I mean I think Time changes a lot of that too you look at Jeff Gordon and you know he had a lot of haters too maybe not you know for the same reason that Col Bush does but over time right before he retired he you know he People loved him and they love him now and I think that Time has a lot to do with that they hated him because he beat our own hard right I mean that was a big part of any fresh faced and he looked like a kid and he had from California he was on Earnhardt played that role Yeah that's a great point because a lot of it has to do with who's on the other side of it because I can remember being at Bristol when Dale Earnhardt Sr Bonnie in 850000 people they all turned out of the building condo I said the same thing when we talked to him he said you can call it a going on you can call it embrace and you can call it whatever you want he said but the same thing that happened to me at Bristol happened to to Dale Earnhardt same thing I was there and they booed him out of the unit Well the sudden Jeff Gordon starts coming low and he's rough and he's good knowing they were seniors territory and all of a sudden people booing Jeff go and he's a new guy I don't like you know in the church regardless of you know I'd change you've got to have that that person to go get I think it's hurt Jimmy Johnson to not have a full tour nobody's been able to kind of thump their push their chest out and go I can beat you same way in golf Tiger Woods feel Mickelson I used to love to watch the United can't they were battling for the win or battling for 35th those 2 guys there was such a a Ravelry and such a. I'm not sure if it was really but it seemed to be such a dislike what disconnect between those 2 players that you always wonder what league one arm goes to to to beat the other and vice versa when I would agree with you that Jimmy's just not had anybody really challenge him on the track and also Dubai for him to quote unquote play off of one consistent basis we will talk a little bit about the budding feud actions been going on for a while between Cannes Lasky and Kyle Busch also had a chance to chat with Kevin Harvick at some pretty interesting stuff to stay we'll touch on that here on fast talk nobody wants to get ripped off broken into a rug but nobody wants to pay a lot of money to have their own protected either I've got an offer to tell you about to provide home security for your home for a simple rate as low as $999.00 a month for real with no installation or equipment charges and this is from a company rated number one by a leading consumer research company according to the fact most of you won't even call unless there's a burglary in your neighborhood or something bad happens so let's give you a reason save money for as low as $999.00 a month with no other costs you can get your home secured plus get a life time equipment replacement warranty you need protection for your home call the home security hotline right now. Got lots to talk about 1st off I'm going to give you the Toyota performance report brought to you by Kasten Toyota for the latest we go to racing information visit Toyota Racing dot com How did they fare in Chicago with a one close Mark Trix Jr finished 1st Danny Hamlin was 4th Matt Kenseth not dangle Suarez 12 Kyle Busch miscues on pit road relegated him to 15th and Eric Jones are as Ken Lee Squire causing a Jones boy I love I love kids choir finished 33rd not sure Toyota performance report as a Lexus alluded to earlier on Herman we had a chance to chat with all 16 of the drivers in the playoffs about various and sundry subjects this past week and always like talking to Kevin Harvick I think he's a guy that has a has a nice 30000 foot view of the sport you know what I'm saying is for me he gets it he's got a lot of different things he's own cars you know worked on him the whole 9 yards got a lot of experience and so I ask him what what's it going to take to maybe reignite this sport and and give it a little extra boost in Give a listen to his answer it's a little bit long here but I think it's pretty good sometimes I think we over emphasize the fact that there are less people in the grandstands because there are less people at all sporting events when I turn when I turn a Yankees and Red Sox game on it at Yankee Stadium in the stadiums not fool that's not how it was 5 years ago and I think I just think that the landscape of sports in general is changing as far as people in attendance and the flipside to that is people like unique events and I think you're going to sit on the side of it from the Charlotte Motor at the Charlotte Motor Speedway with p.r. And you're going to watch that rover race next year and it's going to be unique and different and that's what we need to. Do more of because when we go to Watkins Glen it's sold out I don't care how many people are sitting in a grandstand I can see how many people are sitting there campers and you know they're all going to go see the grandstands and if they don't they're going to sit at their camper drinking beer and having a good time. And you know you go to you go to other events like like Watkins Glen these unique types of events Darlington has created kind of a niche with the throwback weekend we need more those unique events I think we need the schedule mixed up on a year to year basis add the Rovell and as Charlotte is is something that that's really cool and I just think we need we need more stuff to be mixed up because people love unique events and I think that's one way to get people back at the grandstands and you don't have to do those events every year just rotate them around and move them around and keep things exciting and fresh Alexa's terminate thoughts about what you heard Kevin say there well I think a lot a lot of truth in all that the big I can only relate things to how it is for me personally when I was 10121314 years old number one I loved going to the racetrack with my brother and my dad and my aunts and uncles and all that Number 2 I didn't have all the other options on a Sunday morning that will go to Richmond to the race a month or 2 the race I didn't have a computer I didn't have an app a it i didn't have a smartphone a smart phone I didn't have surround say and I don't have a 60 inch t.v. Was surround sound I didn't I didn't have all that we had Channel 68 and you had to get to antenna just right to watch what you want to watch so you know people can say what they want to and make excuses and say this and say that there's too many other options for kids young adults even young married people in their mid to late twenty's this is just too many other things for them to do Not to mention one of them being sit in the comfort of their own home instead of spinnin fast $600.00 to go to a race so I've always thought for the last 10 years we've listened too much to people say the racing is this sport is this Nascar is messed up by doing this when they should just come out and say. I would rather do something else you know you know I think we've Nascar rightfully so in there's been years when Nascar would listen to anybody about anything now they've been more open I think sometimes they react too much to what people say because sometimes people are just making excuses when they just don't want to you can see a little Melinda 10 50 am k 292 f Q Riverside and k 293 c Moreno Valley I think Kevin is definitely on the right track I think he's uniquely positioned to talk about this because he has k. Trial which is a management company he's got his hand in golf in country music in u.f.c. And you look at u.f.c. We talked about this earlier today Doug you need to and you look at how they have unique events and it's always different it's maybe 2 or 3 big events a year and it draws crowds because it's unique and you can't always get to it you can't always be there so I think he's definitely on the right track I think the Rovell is going to be fantastic I cannot wait to see how that turns out because that is definitely going to be unique and I really hope we have more things like that on the schedule going forward but I'm I'm wagering in course it's over a year away before they race on the the role here the 2.4 mile road course that they're built in the Charlotte Motor Speedway if this thing's the hit that I think it will be and I do I think they'll sell a lot of tickets because it's new it's different it's unique it's all the thing Kevin says you'll see other tracks go well we could do that too and and offer up something different and more appetising the maybe what you're getting now but let's make it different don't all the tracks say Ok well now we're going to put in a row because then it won't be unique anymore it's like night racing and all the tracks put in lights and decided we needed to go night racing it wasn't unique anymore and I think a lot of it is it really goes back to. What people like to do in that era in you know the personalities that were you know in our founding fathers of the sport you know the personalities and the you know they were kind of more relatable I guess you might say I mean the blue collar average blue collar worker to mix you know $2526000.00 could relate more to a Richard Petty or a David Pearson or a Cale Yarborough than he can maybe to Jimmy Johnson sure did make Jimmy a bad guy Jim is a great guy we all know that but some of these people just don't relate his will to Jimmy Johnson or cow Larson who have never maybe and then they don't want to go and spend their And part of their 26000 hour your paycheck to buy a ticket as to who see people they don't relate to so I think your brother as being a person that's very relatable Yes because people people hear you guys talk they see how you act they see how you interact and they put you in one category when they see some of these young kids come out here and they're still pimply faced. It's hard it's not as easy for them to relate to them as a superstar even if they're the best driver on the planet by just going to say Doug and I have talked about this before too is that a lot of these young kids that are now in the sport racing is all that they've ever known so they don't have you know experience with anything else to talk about anything else or to be interesting in any other way besides racing and so I think that's important I know my brother really won't see this championship this year I think he knows that he's got a great opportunity this year but the couple things that have happened to him. That have been the most saddest some of the most satisfying things that have happened is he has 8 to 10 consecutive explaining the series most popular driver and the reason why that means something to him is because he's right the middle sure you've got the Cup series drivers that are coming down racing next finish the series given this attention and you've got these young bucks come into that Nascar really wants to put a big push behind the younger generation drivers the diversity drivers and all this in his elite in the middle he's over 40 nail He's a veteran and he's like Ok these guys are going attentional one eon the young bucks again attention on the other hand and here I am right here in the middle and he has been so appreciative of the fans the last couple years of speaking up and saying Ya got cut drivers you get these young drivers but our fan base we relate more to a guy like Elliot Sadler then we do to you the one so he's been really frustrated by that you know all the commercials are better young kids you know in so he's like . What a man well we're not getting it but the fans have spoken the last couple years and it's been really really meaningful to him in my brother's change a lot you know has been a couple times that I would not be moved he would have been what do you do and don't act that way but he has really evolved into a fan favorite for a lot of you get home build Yeah. I've watched I've watched everybody in this thing at some point or another have to eat a big slice of humble pie and kind of wrap this up. All sports are cyclical every sport in America goes through cycles there were people that would have told you that in the eighty's that the n.b.a. Should just board up and go home nobody cared about it then you get a generation of superstars in there that pull the sport back up in it and Le Bron James and Kevin Duran and a couple of other people almost singlehandedly do that you had it happen with baseball back when Sammy Sosa and McGuire went on the homerun tear people weren't watching baseball right they's guys brought that back in. So ever every sport has has a time and a tie we get the right combination of interesting drivers that people can relate to Nascar will go back to another bomb the only track that's not going to have to worry about selling tickets this year is more Speedway because I'm running a Cup race and don't you know it's going to be standing room only in the very end of the announced a sellout up there well McCain below is probably due to swing for the right time may have already sold out on a sold out they're trying to we're just kidding you could still make all of Martinsville. Play can't have a lot to travel down the highway I don't want to. But that's that's a bum you know you know because one there's a lot of sad they all the sad last and that's all right that's that's that's. Right so by the way is driving effort now time to time the ball when nobody out of lottery Chevrolet Yes it was given away a brand new stinger a Corvette almost all finish line before the race so someone is going to rot away from there in a brain is doing right so not to be fun all right we'll check in now to talk a little bit about the Brad Keselowski cow Bush feud is real is it not and who's in trouble after Chicago land to make sure the speeches nurse comes in these hearings you know so Hank why do they call you the hearing hero I can tell you what was going on during any toy of the Nascar moment just by the sound all right well let's put that to the test here we go. Ok that's Martin Truex Jr is Memorial Day coke 600 when last year member Well see if you can place this one. Yeah Ok it sets a trick question that's part Denny Hamlin winning the Daytona $500.00 and part new Camry waling off the line in Kentucky you guys spliced together so I know that briefing crunch sound at the end that's the guys on the Camry line dividing up an apple pie in celebration of cranking out yet another kick a vehicle think they went on a mode pretty sure heard some ice cream in there but how could you possibly I'm just kidding I made up everything after the Camry dude I may be a hearing hero but I couldn't hear pilot mode. Let's go next time. Let's go places to learn more visit Toyota Racing dot com Nascar is a registered trademark of the National Association for soccer or racing and. So I was on Twitter last night I was up watching the Atlanta Falcons play the Green Bay Packers and they won and they'd won the one and you were going to get this mission it so I do you appreciate that thank you you know I'm still trying to get that bad taste out of my mouth about Super Bowl Chris Collins Worth who I'd come to think is the jerky boy anyway he just could be really think who had he really just I like goodness no. About the Super Bowl Ok I get it. 23 lead we lost the most miserable stab me in the heart fashion you can lose a football game he delighted in talking about that you can just tell just you know boy I'm so I'm just so thrilled to be bringing this back up so finally I tweeted out last night I said Ok we get it Chris we coughed up the Super Bowl like a fur ball stop talking about. Your golfing buddy Steve Letarte tweets back to me he big Patriots go big and yet because I love hearing about that Super Bowl I just tweeted back to go to bed leave me alone I dream is not play and I got to play golf today with Steve Letarte feel Parsons' Josh. And you to back off from lunch own and just Williams is probably better to 300. And you know I don't know what is in b.c. Gaz do different from us but he's playing about twice a day and him and Rick Allen they just will be only on a 2 and. I mean they play golf every single day they almost killed me New Hampshire there's a little hall behind the broadcast booth there and it's qualified and qualified it's done I step out in the hall to leave here come recount and with Tarna way to go ahead of the trial Yeah they were just knocking people out of the way security guards everything Quitman to get out of the way though they had to take time that's just like leaving the racetrack on Sunday afternoons. Boy because he got all the planes cranked up when you've been out to people all the time if ya'll raise race after the right in the race tell us how do you get to the airport we would have to I mean when boy turned me on the way to the airport from Dover. Spun me in a curve on the way to the airport I mean and when to run a call I mean just he didn't write a car maneuver right in middle of the 2 lane road on the way to the airport you know and I'm just clear now I mean but if. It means a hell of a race today I have to say what a lot of people don't know there's a thing called the Escape Yeah and that's where a lot of the t.v. Folks Rick Allen's. And some of the competitors they have a way to leave the track that you don't know about and sometimes they will actually direct the cars down on the racetrack and then take you out of back what I like to think we know about it but we don't we value the quick story yeah. About 6 years ago I'm there I'm doing race day t.v. At the time so I worked on Saturday for the truck race Cup race Sunday whatever so we do the escape from you know we jump the ditch Oh yeah Ok then we get I don't know how way and we move because in l.a. It's. If you don't want to 1st ones there you know you you don't the plane is still playing you can run for our way to heaven probably burn up they'll not worth the fuel before we get on the runway the way we bust across his heel and we're you know . At least you got his uniform or he we don't have time to change that gap was over and come to. You have you had a half ass to go nearly sit in a gas is your one in 92 in a 55 you know it's like oh man I'm so sore he says oh don't worry about it I just got Mr Cain one of 6. So I don't know if this guy ever decided to write tickets to people whether he's that mean he won or he loves I'm not sure why don't we let me just collect an autograph Yeah he was collecting autographs and and I'm moving on but we were apparently not as fast as. The way to the guys that were all that fast yesterday Ryan Newman Casey Kane Ricky Stenhouse Jr Kurt Busch right now they rank 16 through 13 now that's admittedly with 2 more races to go and this next stage of competition I don't think you can overstate it enough guys if you bump along one of these you don't get a lot of knowledge in this deal they've used up there's already you do not in if we were going to another mount a half race track I would put Stenhouse Cain in Newman count our own. A double secret probation alert but we're going to layout it is a racetrack that you need to put a v h t j m that's going change a little bit it can be a track position to tire no tire you know and Ryan Newman has became is one there before but Ryan Newman seems to found a way to get a top 6 to 7 when we go there but I'm like you they just do not have a lot of room for error Yeah and when you think about the true X.'s and the cow bush's of the world the collars and the have all these padded points yet doesn't bode well for getting our biscuits for the drivers in the bottom and you got to look at Austin Dillon too I mean he's he's in 12 but he's tied with Kurt Busch So I mean that's you know I don't think you're going to see much difference in performance now than what you did before I think the guys just barely scratch their way into this they're not going to be around long one they don't have any playoff points and 2 they haven't ran that well all season long they're just not going to magically Ricky Stenhouse Jr is not going to magically become a top 10 car yeah and I think and and you keep asking me every time I'm on the show but I'll give you a chance to take. Their own his own little Alan Yeah because I'm just not playing that game with him anymore yeah but these others. When you get to the playoffs you have more tension and more pressure and in most cases the problems that you know your long Excel or a bag or even match because you compared against not to 40 crores you compared to the 16 cause you're racing to getting in and that pressure causes a lot of mistakes and we saw a lot of mistakes yeah we talk about talk about pressure you talk about how Bush and switching you know his pick crew in the in the week leading up to Chicago and they talked on the broadcast about how they thought pressure on that team which they hadn't faced really before pitting Suarez's car and you know he was maybe a 10th to 13th place car it's a little different then when you're racing for when completely. Different it kind of bit bit them in the butt so I don't know how they I mean smart people I'm just I just don't get this you've done this all season long you've had great success I don't care what your analytics say it to sing like. Alexis made a great point is a big difference between having Daniel's warriors come down pit road running 15th and haven't cow Bush come down pit road running 2nd or 1st playoff that in the playoffs the pressure is different enough people threaten a career that I've watched you know we practice pit stops in a parking lot I see people like you whip anybody's but in the parking lot when they get to the racetrack they can't do as good they try to go too fast or they can't handle the pressure and you day and. You know you're down to crunch than nails so it's in pressure the big power to get the ball in the driving range but having rain fessed up yeah I trust it yeah get me out there in real life not so much we'll take a break we'll come right back have you written a book and want to get it published then call Page publishing asap we're looking for authors of all types of books and unlike most publishers page publishing will take the time to review each and every book submitted to us and we're giving our feedback and if we like what we read we will get your book into bookstores and for sale online at Amazon the Apple i Tunes Store Barnes and Noble and other outlets we handle everything editing cover design copyright protection printing publicity and distribution so if you've written a novel children's book cookbook inspirational work poetry or a biography and want to get it published called Page publishing now for your free author submission can your road to fame and fortune could very well start with this simple phone call 802961294802961294802961294 Once again that's 802961294. Feud Hermie yesterday I think n.b.c. Didn't nice little feature package on it showed a lot of wrecks in incidents is this real this is or is a manufactured. Well you know I think it's real Personally I get a kick out of it yeah I think it's funny. I think Bret is a lightning rod to a lot of people a lot of drivers I think a lot of drivers get irritated by him easily He's just that kind of guy personally I like him fine but you know for him to make a comment like that basically saying in Nascar I've never seen Nascar let one manufacturer get so ahead of the others and forgetting the fact that Forwood won what 5 of the 1st races of the year this year and but I understand you know if I can't run more tricks Jr or cow Bush my next best bet is to try to get them off their game somehow get them focused on something other than making the cost run fast enough I really think that little bit of grandstanding is what it's all about but accounts you did far back in a young man I mean ensured Anyway he. Absolutely. No I think it's absolutely real as well I think it's interesting that you've got you know obviously Kyle and Brad are at the heart of what's happening but you've got you know other people kind of charming into you had Denny Hamlin and his media availability I thought was hysterical when he said you know well I guess if somebody is out there looking for a sedan they want to get the superior product go buy a Toyota I mean I just thought that that was taken the perfect opportunity to play any sport which I certainly understand especially this time of the season then he was basically saying Brad what you're saying is a complete slap in the face to all the guys that work yeah racecourse to make them faster Nascar just didn't Cup weeks ago give us a piece or pour in the talking to people like they mean you're you're you know you're not giving credit where credit is due you know right now so we've all been a part of the sport for a long time it happened you have a manufacturer gets ahead and then somebody else pulls ahead later and it's just it's just the way it works also said earlier about the popularity lot of this is cyclical. Speaking of cyclical let's cycle around a little green flag black flag. It's time for green flag Black Flag pretty riveting part of the show here I will make a statement and you will agree or disagree we'll give it a green black or black black black black you hear this. Green black black black hammers. Had their way through Alexis Perkins will win and or lose this championship for a picture will win or lose the chance to get green flag I think I think certain and mean if they win it or you might not hear it as much as if they lose it for you but yes they're in their interest to what's happening Elliott said earlier on the show tonight my brother it seems like most of these races come down to late race culture if you like the culture is going to come out. And you can game a spot lose a spot don't see much much but it could potentially put you on the in sad need to be on the outset at the outset we need to be an eon says so the pit crew definitely can't lose or can't pinpoint the green flag Black Flag combo Bushay to give them a green flag maybe I don't want to teach adamantly green flag black black Col Bush would win an arm wrestling match with brackets last year green flag black flag. Green Flag green flag I think college you know you think Bradley County want to pick. A minute to write guys like you said Yeah like 90 minutes McKinney didn't want half an inch to sleep at night knowing that wrestling ring if that of ours the Chinese and yeah randomly comes into play is based on you know the pushes and what is it going to turn book yeah whatever is in the heart is that hard to get there on buckle how you have to have experience that oh yeah to divert it to the best when you don't know how to hit it properly Oh there's a way to hit him where he doesn't supposed to be not take that choreographed it's got to have a good script I asked and I did not have a good script that I that's going to carry on this edition of green flag and black and that's another award losing edition of green flag black flag brought to you by Advance Auto Parts or your parts online and pick them up in store in just 30 minutes so you can get back to the garage doing what you want low order online Advance Auto Parts dot com. Little bit of news broke today at Hendrick Motorsports Keith Rawdon out as crew chief for Casey Kane dairying grub will crew that car for the last 9 races I think that sort a tad amount to rearranging the deck furniture on the Titanic but if that makes him feel better when he got to be looking a little bit towards next year with because they make a move but that team that basic team is will win by and will be competing next year and so they cannot put him in the same situation the case he's been in for all those years and expected to magically get but this is not about the last 9 races no this is about taxation Absolutely right now you wait the future kudos to our great team here Hermy saddle was bragging Harrell Hamrick about the wonderful job he does is our technical director he's aces he gets us on the air does a wonderful job Hank Lee's taken care of our video stream he can check that out Herman looks really good today pink offshore outstanding Alexis Perkins has joined us this year on the air a little a great job of having one of the Happy birthday dad who's a fun show yet is fun fun show we try to make it fun with make it a little bit informative give your Nascar news maybe with a little bit of different flavor and maybe some sprinkles on your vanilla ice cream here that's what we're shooting for We've got New Hampshire for you on Sunday Kentucky on Saturday night and next Monday we're back with a whole bunch more fast talk.
