Hello this is World update from the b.b.c. In London. It's a bit like your revision the United Kingdom is preparing to leave the European Union so various cities in the e.u. Are trying to host the organizations currently based in Britain the run up is involves lots of this a trip to an embassy for a presentation in this case from Austria we go here we smitten you snipped some great thank you very much don't mind if I do. Along with the snacks the hard sell from Renate Bronner of Vienna city government the idea here is that we have to have a smooth transition to have these this continuous see for the safety of the people and this is what Vienna can all that combined with a high quality of life and with the beautiful music and arts and never more on the spoils of Brecht set in about 40 minutes. Excuse me 40 minutes time and things may be calm and wonderful in Vienna according to that sales pitch anyway but across the border in Germany not so good the German chancellor Angela Merkel will hold talks with President Frank Valter Steinmeyer after the collapse of coalition to go see a sions left her political future in darkness talk to Damian McGuinness our correspondent in Berlin what's happening at the moment. Well at the moment parties are talking to each other and talking to themselves so Chancellor Angela Merkel is about to meet her center right Christian Democrat Party to decide on how to proceed because as you say Don these are really uncharted waters modern Germany has never had a political election crisis like this because going forward now there are 3 options and non of them a good one would be a minority government but that we're generally seen as quite unstable because Chancellor Merkel would then have to get agreement on a policy by policy basis the other option would be for Mrs Merkel to try and get the opposition center left s.p.d. To form a coalition that's the sort of government we had last time but the leader of that party is already said no which leaves only fresh elections and that the problem there is that it could lead to months of political limbo because calling fresh elections here in Germany is quite a complicated long drawn out business which will take months during which time Germany effectively has no government and we could end up after all that time with exactly the same push that position a very difficult coalition talks which really goes to help this this new far right populist and he is one part of the f.d.a. And could hit the economy because it leaves a lot of uncertainty so none of the options are good and it's really not not clear what's going to happen next so today in the next few days political leaders are really going to have to rack their brains here in Germany to come up with some quite creative solutions has it become clear why the so-called Jamaica coalition collapsed to the talks with the Free Democrats why did not work. I mean right from the beginning it was clear that all 4 parties in this potential coalition had strong potentially unbridgeable ideological differences because you're talking about 4 parties who range right across the political spectrum ranging from the left leaning greens right through to the quite conservative c.s. You got to Mrs Merkel's Bavarian conservative allies you've also got her center right Christian Democrats and the fervently pro-business free market liberals and it was these liberals as you say that said well this is not going to work now there are a lot of people here in Germany is saying well the differences were so great that it's better that they break off now rather than enter into a government that's not going to last the problem is there it depends what's going to happen now in the public mood over the next few days because already the recriminations are starting and a lot of commentators here in this morning's press saying that actually the Liberals have been behaved irresponsibly by by what they describe as storming out of the talks now how the public mood views the breakdown of these talks will have a direct impact on what happens next because if the liberals are held to blame then what what that could mean is this could benefit the other parties in particular angle Americal who whose political future is at stake here because if no if this political crisis goes on and on then then it's not clear whether she would remain as chancellor but if she's seen as an anchor of stability and other parties are to blame for this breakdown in talks then it could be that actually people want her to remain in order to ensure that German Germany remains politically stable Damion thanks so much indeed we'll follow that closely one of the effects already has fall on the euro the value of the euro against the dollar. Let's go to Zimbabwe and everyone and Zimbabwe waiting for President Robert Mugabe has addressed the nation yesterday Sunday nights expected of him be the moment that he would end this 37 years in power and resign didn't happen instead see to say that the military takeover had not upset the legal order of the country the operation now I have been looted too did not amount to a threat to our where a cherished constitutional order. No Is it a challenge to my own story as he heads of state and government today's meeting with the command element has underscored the need for us to collectively start processes that treaty in our nation to normalcy so for our people can go about down business I knew he died in 9 environment of peace and security where into the future Chris not some gang who's the chairman of the Zimbabwe War Veterans Association has been speaking at a press conference and Harare just in the past couple of hours he made this plea to President Mugabe we saw him go to the national television to pretend is if everything is no more you are saying that you will be attending this party quits we are saying Mugabe go now no no no no no no your time is up please leave that out and let the country start on a new page you should have the dignity and decency to spin the country off it or to morrow by simply announcing your departure immediately. Well there is on a p.f. The ruling party has said that it will impeach Robert Mugabe fact it would if he hadn't stepped down by about 13 minutes ago so far we haven't heard that he has will be in Harare in about 20 minutes time more than 300000 people from Central America and Haiti living in the United States may soon leave lose their legal right to stay in that country they have t.p.s. Temporary protected status but the find themselves in the center of the administration's efforts to reform immigration for decades the program shielded citizens from being sent back to unstable countries the Department of Homeland Security is already ended the benefit for Nicaraguans and that fuels fears in other communities a decision expected next for Haitians. Tawfiq reports from New York. Hey we're going to need for us to have a seat thank you so rudely Dorson is anxious as she meets with her attorney to discuss her immigration status she's called New York home for 7 years ever since the devastating 2010 earthquake in Haiti after the earthquake I hardly knew one baby one for us we were sleeping on the street there was no life I couldn't even good water to drink to make it. To take my chance and we begin to see if I can save you she's here legally thanks to the temporary protected status or t.p.s. Program it allows those from countries ravaged by war or natural disaster to live and work here until their countries are stable the protection for Haitians has been extended several times but the trumpet ministration is cracking down on immigration and may now and leaving rude things future uncertain once more it's just cool. Growing every day knocking your head to know what you got I'll do where you go no go how you gonna make it it's not easy at all I jus can't bring asking God to do a miracle you have a child here. How is your child 8 years old Unfortunately that's too young for him to petition for you the program was never meant to be permanent still Attorney Emmanuel day pass who is himself Haitian American is trying to help those in his community to stay where they've rebuilt their lives these t.p.s. Nationals have developed roots in the United States they've assimilated nice they've had u.s. Citizen born children here they've worked here paid taxes here paid into the so Security Administration paid into Medicare paid into Medicaid so it's very difficult to just tell them that they're not welcome and. New York is home to one of the largest Haitian communities in the country in Little Haiti and proclaimed you often hear Creole spoken on the street and you can spot the issue clag on several restaurants and bakeries and it's obvious that this is an issue that's seemingly in effect the people you know that c.b.s. Is right about those with no other legal power to remaining in the country will either have to believe or live in the shadows a lot employs they see eye to eye with us on this is Cheryl Brandon is a local leader with Unite here of labor unions representing workers from the hospitality industry major corporations from the service sector such as the Walt Disney Company have come out to support an extension for Haitians Cheryl says many businesses could be affected if they lose employees on t.p.s. To replace workers is not an easy thing people work on jobs and a game of skill about work and send over 20 years you can't just go in and bring new people to work that job and giving it to someone new that's going to be a lot of challenges with that. One Haiti the situation is dire Matthew left ruins hundreds are dead the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere has suffered a cholera epidemic and hurricanes since the earthquake the Department of Homeland Security says conditions have improved enough though for immigrants to start planning their return we have a short period of time before the bipartisan lawmakers on Capitol Hill say it's too soon to end the humanitarian program Representative You bet Clark who is a Democrat from New York is introducing a bill to help t.p.s. Recipients apply for permanent residency Haiti is in extreme dire straits it's a fat fragile eco system in terms of health care in terms of housing and terms of opportunity and there are 15000 individuals which is a drop in the bucket when you look a nation of our size a decision is expected any day now and would lead has. Just one request I hope whoever is taking decision. Has more door before as far until then she's taking it one day at a time. Log it was a good boy. That's rooted in dos and speaking to not a tough on perhaps the end of temporary protected status in the us you're listening to World update from the b.b.c. On Wednesday we're taking our program to The Hague in the Netherlands it is of course a center of international norm and the reason is that the International Criminal Tribunal on the former Yugoslavia is reaching really what is effectively the end of its work with the judgment expected to be handed down on Rocker moderates who will remember as the Bosnian Serb general who it's alleged was involved in massacres in Srebrenica and indeed there are plenty of allegations against him from other parts of that war both in Bosnia and elsewhere and we're going to talk to people who have been involved with talk to somebody who defended a lawyer who defended rather encourage each who was the political boss of Radko Nottage and swill hear from those who are in the beginning of this tribunals join us for that is a special program coming up on Wednesday of course we'll have the normal world update tomorrow. And coming up later on our program today after more than 4 decades in prison the American cult leader Charles Manson died at the age of 83 the murders he orchestrated came to symbolize the dark side of sixties counter-culture in the court case that followed the public prosecutor Vincent progress k. Felt that he had to do all he could to get a guilty conviction there was no question in my mind that if he got off he was just going to continue to kill him and he was going to kill as many people as he could saw I was working you know 7 days a week to make sure he was not set free the problem is that Manson did not physically participate in these murders at the actual moment of the murders he was not present nor that coming soon I headlines just now a deadline announced by Zimbabwe's governing party for Robert Mugabe to step down as president has just expired just about 20 minutes ago he has not so far agreed to step down this is the b.b.c. You're listening to World update I'm Dan Damon in London the World Press Photo Awards showcases the best in photo journalism from around the globe the winning photograph for this year a currently touring 100 cities in 45 countries the latest stop is London Southbank and I spoke to the World Press Photo not she is one of those involved in the judging and also in the organizing and we heard from some of the winners as well about what makes a world beating image that there is some audio that is linked to some of these photographs that you might find distressing. It's quite difficult this year we received $80000.00 images so you can understand what a really difficult process it is they selected one image as a real plus photo of 2 year because it's such an incredible image it's really reflects all the hatred of the Stivers and that photo is the mother of the Russian ambassador yes this is a nation he. Was . Was. It's an image taken at a photo gallery as an opening there was an off duty police officer from Turkey and after $36.00 nation he said don't forget Aleppo don't forget Syria so it's a quite explosive image what about the photographer because what he didn't do is fall to the ground yeah I would yeah we you it's a really brave for Jack or he was not there assignments and at the time he realized I have to be brave I have to be there I have to capture these moments well to give us a bit of relief I wanted to ask you about the nature photograph which is somebody dressed up as a panda yet and I see a lot of exhibition Physick there to respond to that image that image made by I mean if you tell us she's a photographer from the us it's a really difficult to get sexes in China especially would to bomb that's because there is a national treasure but she gained access took about a few years a lot of months 5 trips to China back of course to keep herself of them thus they really want to balance to pressure patients today dress up as a banana so you see in the image a man or woman need a seat in a panda suit holding a baby penned up and they really do it so their relations with the human was less Here's another very sad image to do with loss and weakness What's that about it the image from Paula Brown signed it's an unfolding your nephew her sister moments at the funeral of her daughter she was killed by a bomb but of run sinus if you will for talk of her who went to Afghanistan for many times and she. And to capture the daily life to African men and women this family was just walking from a local shop back to their house and a bomb went off it was a small bomb that went off in a part of the city that doesn't see a lot of violence I saw it on Twitter and My feeling was this is exactly the kind of story I want to tell because this will never had the news it won't even barely be a blip on the local television and yet the family's lives were shattered they lost a daughter their son is got a head injury these incidents of violence are just random and horrific and for me to try to bring attention to that is just another side of the cost of war this image has one in a daily life because it's daily life for Afghan families to have all this said and losses all the time and some just excellent sports photos a picture of horse racing and rider being thrown across one of the fences is stunning and this race is a very hard physical ranks and the biggest fans is now you know is the track I mean setting up my mind was that these fans 25 years so persevered with doing it because I knew you know if you don't keep drawing you'll never get something right no more which made the Graham really bothered time the horses had run 3 miles they were getting really tired and when that So I got jumped and I thought something might happen. To me I guess is another u.k. Photographer who won this year it's an incredible image and I have to ask you how many horses do you think it's an image I can only see the bit of one but I guess there's more there for well. So you have to look really closely but it's just a fraction of a moments and Jenkins you managed to capture it's impressive Noto you must have one of the best jobs around looking at all these amazing images and there are so many more as well in the press photo catalogue there are not as many women photographers as I would have expected yes this is a good question this you. Are swimming images are only 7 percent female from all the entries it's a male dominated decision in a photojournalism I really try to work to change that so we're working also with international woman foundation trying to set up festivals and gain access to a lot of photographers what you want people who can look at these pictures how you want them to react we really would like to tell the stories to tell official Jordan's waiting for doctors so when you come to the exhibition it will provoke you it will definitely challenge you but we also hope that it will make the audience smile and you get a better understanding of the world that's not your heart she's from the world press photos and you can see some of those photos of her search for world updates in pictures there are 9 Senegalese musician Baaba Maal has been a key speaker at music in Africa in Dakar from Dhaka Jovi reports. News. You. Hello you're listening to World update from the b.b.c. In London this is Dan Damon coming up on the next half hour of the program political car crash and engine seizure in Germany and the political future for tax reform in the u.s. But we begin with politics in Zimbabwe Andrew Harding joins us from Harare Andrew the deadline for all of the garbage to agreed to step down has passed what's next good question Dan I think that deadline which came from his own party won't have been treated too seriously by Robert Mugabe I imagine he feels that didn't have any real legal muscle behind it the country the city is swirling as it has been for days with rumors that perhaps he's already planning his resignation that he may go back on television to announce it at any stage that yesterday's speech was really all about giving. Clearance if you like approval to the military for what they've done and yet we just don't know the stage whether President Mugabe is going to give in to the pressure that's growing both from the war vets from his own party and from the public who are planning another big rally we're hearing tomorrow or whether he is digging his heels in as he suggested in his speech last night when he said that he plans to preside over the Congress of Zanu p.f. Next month where all the issues that he admitted were things were going wrong in the party but he would preside over that meeting next month a statement I think many people found utterly baffling after the party had voted to strip him of his leadership and to kick his wife and the clique the cabal that they spoke of around her out of the party there's no doubt that the people on the streets think that the McCarver era is over though. That's clear everyone I've spoken to here believes that a line has been crossed that Saturday's protests unleashed something here and that Robert McKee It's really about negotiating the time the process the choreography of his departure and yes people are impatient but so long as they know that within days or weeks he'll be out people will accept that but I spoke to one woman who talked very passionately about the fear that remains here and while it lifted on Saturday on the streets it's not something that will go overnight because people have grown up with that fear of the security services of the military of Zanu p.f. And and the security services here and so Eve the right people or the wrong people want to tighten the screws again it's possible that they could clamp down on things but just briefly under things are calm at the moment they are indeed business as usual across the city as far as we can tell and no no demonstrations and we thank you so much under Harding reporting from Zimbabwe from Harare if we get more news on the parent impeachment that's now threatened Robert Mugabe will bring it to you straight away in Germany a political crisis talks between Anglo-American center right Christian Democrats and the liberal Free Democrats to form a coalition government with the Greens have collapsed this might mean another election let's talk to Stephan Meyer whose home affairs spokesman for the Christian Democrats you could tell us what you think will happen over the next 48 hours please. Difficult to say what what really happened we were all shocked and very astonished at the Free Democrats are quit the negotiations last nights and so certainly we are in. Stable times and the chairman he needs a stable and reliable government and. Firstly it's the Tosk of our president Mr Steinmeier to. Chair a man of social democrats so Mr Schultz in order to. To be open at least a full funny goshi ations. Because certainly a crown coalition is possible in Germany and. I have no understanding at all for the position of the Social Democrats which is the 2nd largest parliamentary group in the challenges talk not to be open for for any. Coalition eg issue a since they think they're better is another election. 1st I think they won't do better but that's only my personal perception but more important is that especially in these very difficult times. It's necessary to to see the interest of the country and of the citizens 1st and not the interests of the party and certainly I'm not a supporter of. Crown Coalition for full time but I think in these difficult times in Chaminade but also in Europe. Especially with regard to the exit negotiations. We need a stable government and this could be this could consist a can of a crown coalition between the Social Democrats and the c.d.u. And to see if you. Live reports Ah the d.f.t. Paid for the Democrats who wanted a tougher line on immigration on not was whether told brought down do you have that information that's absolutely not true we were about to to find the consensus last night between the c.s.u. And the careens and we the cd went to see if you will be very very ambitious concerning the topic off of migration and he was seeing the influx of illegal migrants and. Certainly this was one of the decisive topics but the recent surge. Which were proud for what by Mr Lynn the chairperson of the Free Democrats nod last night I think they were not. The current problems I have the impression that the Free Democrats from the beginning on were not. Willing to form this this coalition with the Greens and with us. It was planned for a long time to quit going to negotiate and not to form this question do you think if there's another election angle America will lead the c.d.u. Into it there is absolutely no discussion about Angle America not in the c.d.u. And not in the. Su. We were very proud of her reputation repetition in Europe on the whole globe and I can assure everyone that she did a marvelous job in the last 4 weeks in the negotiations and there is absolutely no discussion about Angela Merkel Stefan thank you very much indeed Stefan my home affairs spokesman for the Christian Democrats in Germany this is wild updates. In Afghanistan explosions suicide attacks kidnappings the violence continues the Afghan version of so-called Islamic State ISIS is an added ingredient to that violence will ready being carried out by the Taliban president trumps from a small u.s. Troops to kill terrorists he says So how does that go down in Afghanistan Hugh Sykes reports now from Afghanistan 4 years after his 1st assignment. Couple City Center is beginning to look like Baghdad 10 years ago high concrete blast walls watch towers armed guards heavy steel barriers and checkpoints explosives detected dogs more than 300 people have been killed in terror attacks in Kabul in the past 2 years Nato's I suffered mission international support assistance thanks to an end to 24 team and that's when this new stores have begun so no president Donald Trump's 1st instinct to withdraw entirely from Afghanistan has been put on hold for a new mission ultimately it is up to the people of Afghanistan to take ownership of their future we'll report on the fret but we will not dictate to the Afghan people how they live or how to govern their own complex society we are not nation building again we are killing terrorists 1st and Trump in August this year a political analyst here in Kabul mere mostly agrees with this new Trump strategy but thinks it's missing an essential ingredient what is missing in this is that he is serious possibilities of the Afghan government security as part of the failure of the gallant the truck gets through to the center of Kabul because of corruption of course because they could bright and to check points you could easily bright and get a car full of explosives into the city without their young reliable partner in Kabul a government that is accountable of them and this transplant on the Us will not succeed in Afghanistan so you'd say to President Trump would do that without. A proper functioning government in this country you won't be able to kill terrorists exactly because what terrorists they are not aliens they are cough gets how those good governments get rid of terrorism by providing basic services to people by proving to people that they could get great benefits from peace and stability people are tired of conflict and war so sometimes the people in some places view that they're getting better governance by the top from the Taliban from the dollar Yes because in some places Taliban are providing these basic services to people security justice. So middle Hamidi founder of a women's leadership organization here says that another essential ingredient for preventing terrorism is the countries like America who have given billions of dollars to Afghanistan must ensure that the money is effectively spent the reason today we have got up and is not only at international community she had a part in the action because they were the one who put billions of dollars here without proper accountability without proper management but why is it the duty of the donor of the Americans in particular given all this money why is it the duty to make sure that the money has an impact that's your business Afghanistan's been as isn't it it is but do you think that the money that was given to us was designed by us for the projects No the us have made the decision that this is best for Afghanistan and then you know most of those programs who have not realistic well know based on the need of people so many to have meeting. In orthopedic water in a couple clinics has been fitted with an artificial leg of the training on a land mine while she was fetching vegetables on her family's farm. She acknowledges the victory quality of life for preventing terrorism but also hopes to defeat the terrorists more the let it go on the most in the midst of the issue not because security is good enough. But there's a lot of unemployment. I'm not and I'm never was. If there were more jobs would security be better. Than the time nothing Yes she says but you still have to fight the terrorists your daughter said you going to jail you know who should mark their 100. Taliban are still active in rural areas of lot of them and some of them God Willing to the Taliban will be broken. That's huge Sykes report from Afghanistan the former cult leader Charles Manson's died in prison at the age of 8083 he orchestrated a string of gruesome killings in the summer of 1969 among the victims the heavily pregnant actress Sharon Tate wife of the film director Roman Polanski she was murdered brutally along with 4 friends at a Hollywood home and then the following night a wealthy Los Angeles couple tied up and slaughtered carried out these crimes by impressionable followers of Manson who'd spent most of his life in jail interviewed in prison he claimed he was the product of a damaged childhood. Nobody wanted me. Wanting to wanting to. Have a life of me. Like. Those who followed him were mostly young women who fled middle class homes to live with them in a so-called family as a ramshackle ranch outside Los Angeles encouraged to take drugs like l.s.d. They saw Charles Manson as a kind of hero he became obsessed with the Beatles song Helter Skelter which he believed predicted the coming race war that he could use to seize power as details of the case came out he continued his hold over his followers one goal spoke to the b.b.c. From the ranch then I came here with all my friends we were compatible with modern city and the preaching of the Carson people running around whining this morning that how do you remember. Now the I know you. Happy. You. Realize I'm a person anyone would want to. Vinson Filyaw was the public prosecutor in the Manson murder case he spoke to the b.b.c. Before his death in 2015 even though Manson was not directly involved in the killings Mr Bill Yassky felt there was a great deal of stake if he couldn't get a guilty conviction there was no question in my mind that if he got off he was just going to continue to kill him and he was going to kill as many people as he could solve I was working you know 7 days a week to make sure he was not set free the problem is that Manson did not physically participate in these murders at the actual moment of the murders he was not present so I had to bring him in. By way of circumstantial evidence and therefore told the jury when the words helter skelter were found printed in blood at the murder scene I said that's tantamount to Manson's fingerprints being found at the murder scene the other way I connected him with the murders was to show his complete domination over spam Lee on the other members of the family were slavish obedient to Him and therefore if Manson's co-defendants committed these murders he must have been behind these murders and in the court room for instance frequently he'd turn around and start staring at a spectator and spectator eventually get up and walk out he stared at the jury and he and I had several scaring Sessions one of them went on for around 20 minutes Well Charles Manson was sentenced to death but before the penalty could be carried out California abolished capital punishment Manson was sent us a life imprisonment instead then somebody else remembers the day of the sentencing that's part of the most suspenseful moment of the whole trial because you don't know what the 1st can say death or life I looked over at Manson and his hands were trembling now here's the guy that always promoted fear right but yet when he came back with a death penalty he was unfair he want to save his own life very badly the story of Charles Manson who's died at the age of 83 This is welled up date from London. Headlines just now a deadline announced by Zimbabwe's governing party for Robert Mugabe to step down as president expired That's 49 minutes ago and he still hasn't said anything about it the Supreme Court in Kenya has ruled that the result of up to his presidential election rerun was valid a paved the way for her Kenyatta to be sworn in next week. Those are the top stories let's took Let's take a look at the big stories in u.s. Politics this week with Kerry Nordlinger professor of political science at George Washington University in Washington d.c. Thanks for being with us Kerry let's talk about tax and the tax reform proposals President Tom has been tweeting that they're working hard on those in Congress what are the prospects that they'll get through well the Republicans are so eager to have a legislative victory on domestic policy that would appeal to their conservative base I think they will be able to get it through the House passed a bill last week there are some differences with the Senate version but I think they'll work it out and get something through they've linked it to repeal of the mandate the universal mandate on Bamma care but that was something that some Republicans in the Senate wouldn't countenance when that as just a single measure was brought through so it doesn't make it harder for them to get it as it does but the legislative process is all about compromise and I think that will be one of the things they take out to attract about the need in both the House and Senate. What about the allegations that this is just the same old stuff what was called voodoo economics under Reagan it's trickle down economics which economists say really just doesn't work just because you make the rich richer doesn't mean that their money is going to filter down and make people with lower incomes better off that there must be that discussion at least well there absolutely is that is what every Democrat in the United States will tell you about the tax on just action on the other hand you know the Republicans for tax cuts there there's a certain amount of streamlining much as happened in the Reagan years where we lower rates but get a rock get rid of a lot of tax cut actions at the same time but there she asked. Us has something that they can go home and say see we did do something this year. Ok with those tax reforms then Kerry you think will get through which would be really interesting to see what the reaction is then let's talk about the other big story that's around at the moment and that is the Senate race in Alabama we have this candidate Roy Moore facing all kinds of allegations of improper behavior with teenagers when he was in his thirty's How is that affecting the race oh Jay It is really turned that race upside down more had a comfortable lead going into these allegations but now some of the more recent polling is showing his Democratic opponent Doug Jones had I'm not sure what a lot of Muttley happened I mean I keep reminding myself that exactly 4 weeks before the elections last year that Billy Bush tape came out with you know Donald Trump making. Oh how lack of better words unsavory comments about how he treats women and everyone in the Republican establishment I my gosh you've got a step down more than 2 dozen prominent Republicans called on him to step down for weeks later he won so I just don't know how Bama boaters well end up reacting to if they do elect him where does that put the Republican Party because so many Republicans including the leader in the Senate has said we just don't like this man and we believe the women I know I think that's true but what the Republicans could do is accept you know that they're going to have to accept a certificate of all action but then they can start having ethics hearings against them expel them and then the Republican governor appoints another Republican I think to the Republicans keeping the seat in Republican control is far more important than who fills up the possibility of a write in candidate that's another discussion that they could write in the man who lost the primary to Royal. Well but see that just keeps 1st of all right in campaigns are fairly hard the stage and some of the research that apparently has been going on shows that that's not a good strategy and that that would split the vote between say who they're strange and more and almost guaranteed Jones as a traitor and then what it what both this and then McConnell's attacks are doing is fueling this whole thing on right Morse part about say it's the establishment trying to fix the selection. So coming full circle despite all of that you still think the tax wrong can get through the Senate. They're just so anxious for a victory and the story that we're not talking about is the spending resolution for the federal government expires on December re-ask because the and if that again if you know the House the Senate and the president can't come up with something in theory the federal government shuts down on the summer rate and even worse authority to pay interest on our national debt expires as well exciting times thanks so much indeed Gary Nordlinger keeping us up to date with what's happening in the u.s.
