Statement was released to the media bear in mind now his written statement was not released to the Republicans on the House Oversight Committee 24 hours in advance as is the rules of the committee that there's that's what they're supposed to do so a big part of this hearing was held up by Republicans saying hey we haven't even had a chance to see his opening statement the media has seen it and we were supposed to have it for 24 hours in advance those are the rules but it doesn't matter we don't need to follow the rules were here's Adam Schiff talking about what he believes Michael Cohen is about to testify if Mr Cullen's allegations are correct means the Prez by the way can we just start for a moment right there Adam Schiff is a Democrat of some stature now in the House of Representatives he's the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee he and his party and his colleagues are are betting the farm on Michael Cohen this is the very 1st witness to be called by the House Oversight Committee under the new Democrat leadership that took office January 3rd so this this is the very 1st witness that they are calling before them they're making a big deal out of it all t.v. Stations are covering it and when Adam Schiff the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee our congressman from Burbank goes on television to start talking about the testimony we're about to hear he has to preface it with if Mr Cullen's allegations are correct can we. If there is some question as to whether these allegations are correct or not why are we airing them in an open hearing why are we even entertaining his testimony if there is some question on behalf of the majority in the House that that that his statements and his testimony night might not be true oh and by the way there's every reason to believe that it might not be true because this guy just lied to Congress a year and a half ago he's been convicted for he pled guilty to it. He's about to serve time for lying to Congress we know for a fact that this man lies to Congress he is now going to testify today is in the middle of it and right before it Adam Schiff talking about the testimony he's about to say to give has to preface it with if Mr Cullen's allegations are correct does that not throw a red flag to anyone the fact that Adam Schiff have to stand there in preface his statement by saying if this is true how about this how about we determine whether it's true or not before you actually turn every network's camera and microphone and stop all television coverage and create this giant media circus around this testimony. That just seems to be you know a fundamentally fair thing to do let's let's let's make sure that what he's about to say is true but but here's what's even worse Adam Schiff then goes a preface is the whole thing with if it's true but then he goes from there and makes an allegation that is just a bald faced lie and it's one of the worst lies you can say listen to means the president while in office literally while in the oval office was engaged in criminal activity and that is furthering this campaign fraud scheme All right so now let me just explain what he's talking about and that's a pretty big allegation isn't it if Michael Cohen's testimony is true that means the president outed States committed criminal activity while literally in the Oval Office now what is this criminal activity it is supposedly according to the allegations of a man who is a known and convicted liar. That he wrote him a check for $35000.00 that would be a reimbursement for a payment for a nondisclosure act a non-disclosure agreement with the adult film star known as Stormy Daniels that's that's what's alleged to be the criminal activity according to Adam Schiff that he reimbursed his lawyer for paying. Person to agree to a nondisclosure act now everybody's going to be calling it hush money wherever you go is going to be Michael Cohen Here's the check in this check was for hush money. Hush money that's fascinating so then again if I were interviewing Adam Schiff I would say well you just said that this was criminal activity can you please cite what statute was broken What what is the crime because just so you know and I'm going to be fully honest with the I always am here on the Larry O'Connor show I have received payments in the past in exchange for signing a non-disclosure agreement multiple times in fact for one reason or another based on my employment agreement that I had with various companies as I was as I left that company I signed a non-disclosure agreement with language almost exactly the same I'm guessing as what the adult film star known as Stormy Daniels signed in her nondisclosure agreement of course she violated her not as good or agreement that's a whole other story with a whole lot of repliers and criminals and people who break agreements involved in the story on one side of the equation but I have signs that I've left a company or cease doing business with the company or in some cases actually continue doing business with the company and they have handed me a document that says that I can't disclose certain things in fact I'm not naming the company because sometimes a non-disclosure agreement actually says they cannot leave even allowed to reveal that there is a non-disclosure agreement and this is a completely perfectly legal document it's not hush money it is a non-disclosure agreement don't say this thing that you threaten that you will say or that you could realistically say and in exchange for not saying it here's a cash payment or a check in this case where's the criminal activity Adam Schiff How irresponsible is that. And of course the reporter here talking to Adam Schiff never asked him What's the crime c.n.n. Of course if Mr Cullen's allegations are correct means the president while in office literally while in the oval office was engaged in criminal activity and that is furthering this campaign fraud scheme that the Southern District of New York has already identified individual one as being involved and so that's pretty breathtaking when you think about it that the president I'd States is allegedly paying hush money as president of the United States and misleading the country about it and that's pretty serious business yes serious business nondisclosure agreement signed entering into a nondisclosure agreement with somebody and paying the money that is involved in a nondisclosure agreement is hush money and that's criminal activity remember making Kelly number Meghan Kelly the Fox News anchor who was doing a great job there on Fox News and then she left and then she got a big old deal with n.b.c.
