And I cherish those suckers and when i take us dollars night baby doll those nights just go beautifully and I wake up in. Coffee on its ribbons birthday I make the breakfast and birds are killers of the sky on the shining it's brilliant you feel like a human again I agree as opposed to being up like I was the night before with the fireworks at 130 and then putting my phone back down at 430 that's got to be horrible for you I talk to 2 or 3 other people who experience the same thing as show where they were just up all night listening to the explosion a cut off any. Who was there to see the Lisa Guerrero was meltdown over that she was on Twitter talking about last year was and I agree I was like if this is something change this year it's a free for all so that maybe a little nervous but at last all the kids were restless even if there were some good I would have heard. It was so out of it. Thank you. So I felt so good today I wonder if the fireworks sales were way up this year they had to have been I never saw anything like it my life and then to buy stock in some of those companies before the next year my backyard looks into the valley the San Fernando Valley I said wait a 2nd I know that's a park over there but that sure as hell not right there how the 2nd that's nothing was that's an empty lot my God that's that's apartment building going off the top there and it went on for hours it's a little barge a parking lot. Yeah we didn't hear anything about injuries I know they were anticipating more people begin to but I got to say This year I've I've lived here over 20 years 26 now I think in last Los Angeles and I've never and by the way when I lived in Huntington it was no picnic either those teenagers and I was like 24 at the time so I was in the snow exactly an old fogy but I was enough they'd like couches on. Like what the House a 4th of July parade and then you're going to light a couch on fire in the middle I'm telling you I'm going to go buy fireworks talk before New Year's Eve and before Mexico's in the World Cup yes yes. Just sell it sell it sell it sell highest that are. Highest Bidder All right I've got a mystery for you and I need you to put your detectives had always to figure out what happened here now you are in a unique position I think to arbitrate what exactly went down here yeah because you do the Subaru Pet of the day yes every single day right here on 790 k b c Or do you love it and you created the pet adoption segment on Good Day l.a. Which is now in its what year. 21st Ok yeah so now a lot of you had I started at 1718 so maybe it's been there for 18 years and you just participated in the. Have a Dodge auction Yeah in Long Beach Yeah Ok so you are responsible or you've contributed to a lot of pets finding homes I hope Syrian Southern cash I hope so and I have I've actually rescued probably 20 something since I've lived here in a way that I that you know were my my babies and you have tried unsuccessfully on a daily basis to get Lois to adopt a cat I can't seem to tomorrow I'm taking my bangle cat in which by the way they're part wild I was doing a little research on like where the hell is she and then you look up and she's on top of the curtains ready to pounce on you there's a little wild in there but I'm taking her to get spayed tomorrow because God forbid that thing procreates like you walk down and she's like stalking you and then you'll just feel her nails in your ass cheeks and blood trickle down and she's like ran away she loves you that's aggressive No but it's like her way of loving Ok oh yeah you watch a movie she crawls all over my son cross all of my daughter she's the coolest cat and she wrestles the dog but everyone's afraid of are not going to lie I didn't know that a cat could show their affection through digital penetration Yes yes she's got the . You know and then she climbs the base the the door frame with just her nails and she makes it to the top of the door and I just Erica what the hell are you part mountain go. Anyway so Guy How does the door look now everything's horrible Everything's ruined in my house I did recover chairs with like stuffed animal fur it's a lock because everything that's pleather is just got thousands of holes perforated over it ruins everything. When I give you these facts I'm going to stick to just the facts because I don't want to color your opinion one way or another yeah but I want you to tell me if this pet adoption went south because of a legitimate reason because of vanity or the person just got tired of the Pat Ok Ok I read it already my personal opinion Ok so the reporting is done by Yahoo News Ok And here is what they have to say the no kill shelter from which lead to Dunham adopted Lambie which is the dog that she recently gave away after what she described as 4 years of challenging behavior and aggression isn't buying her story so she's gone to war with the no kill shelter June 21st the girl Salaam shared on Instagram her heartbreaking decision to give away Lamb be to quote an amazing professional facility in l.a. To be cared for by someone educated in a rescue dog specific trauma Dunham noted that Landy suffered terrible abuses of pop which made having him in a typical home environment dangerous to him and others and she and boyfriend musician Jack and to gnaw off needed to be responsible to ourselves our neighbors and especially our beloved boy they also needed to save their home as the dog quote ruined floors and couches and our life. That's her side of the story right now a spokesman for the bark shelter in Brooklyn which is where Dunham adopted Lambie in January of 2013 before going on to make the dog a star by detailing his adoption in a New Yorker article showing him often magazine spreads like Vogue and spotlighting him on her Instagram feed has a different story for starters the pet didn't have a long history of abuse prior to Lena Dunham bringing him home quote We checked the records for Lambie according to Robert Vazquez he that's what he told Yahoo via email he was owner surrendered not enough time so we don't know where she got multiple owners that abuse the dog now in the New Yorker piece in Marge Dunham said that the dog had 3 other homes 3 other names but now he's mine mine mine at the time of his adoption by the star the dog was just one nearing 2 years old and he didn't have a history of being aggressive quote when she adopted the dog from us it wasn't crazy I have pictures of the dog loving on Lena and her mom which is weird if the dog was abused it wouldn't be cuddling on her or be in bed with her boyfriend in the pages of Vogue Vasquez says he personally was there the 4 times that Lena visited Lambie prior to the adoption because I've been in charge of the dogs for the last 14 to 15 years had bark if Lambie had a bad pastor was abused do you think bark would have adopted him to lead in knowing she's a star and put her or the dog in that situation we would have told of the dog had issues were a no kill shelter we don't lie about the dog's histories because if they get returned and. That gets them returned and mentally that's not good for the dogs so he's saying that she's a liar. Well here's the thing I do know working in the world of rescue as I have for so many years you have the hardcore fanatics that I don't I don't deal with them I rescue dogs I rescued a dog once I was at a small little car and I rescued this big huge like a mountain dog put it in the back of my car took him home loved on him started noticing he had weird behavior toward my a cats he was getting aggressive he picked up a cat and he killed one of my Himalayans and she was on life support for 2 days it was horrendous I called them back before my cat was dead I said you have to take this dog back and they're like no you got her and I said they said Look just because it killed your cat and I go Whoa whoa whoa whoa my cat is not dead yet yet And I said just with that frickin attitude I'm dropping the dog I don't play games I rescued a Pomeranian that was lovely and cuddly when they brought it to the house and every damn morning I go to get a pair of shoes to go a good deli and that thing would snap at my hand I bleed trickle blood down my. Couldn't must have been trying to I gave that back so I get it on the whole when you rescue you're going to have some duds that's just a fact and you're going to get people that are so crazy for animals they'll they'll they hated me and I said I don't care go ahead and hate me do you think the dog was abused prior to the 1st show in your home or should they tell you that was. I don't recall but I mean I've rescued over 25 animals since I moved to l.a. 20 in 26 years and I have Those are just my own and I've rescued out hundreds and hundreds and let me tell you I know it's not like a shoe I'm a size 7 Well Ok but you know you analyze to live with you you have to feel it out I do not want to live with an aggressive animal I have children my God my animals have to be like they love me and they love my kids so I'm lucky but I'll tell you what if I end up with that Pomeranian or that big dog I saw that big dog cornering Well I had 4 cats at the time and it cornered one of them Georgia who was a big marble Himalayan kind of a Maine Coon cat and it was the dog I didn't I couldn't tell if it was the dog or the cat growing and sure enough the next day this dog ended up grabbing my Himalayan baby which was my oh my God she was like my favorite I died but bottom line is we had to take her off life support she and she died and I couldn't wait to get that dog back fast enough that ruined it really bothered me and I'm an animal lover I nursed it back to health the problem was the dog was sick when I 1st got it and as it got stronger and better as I nursed it back to health it started to become its true personality which was aggressive aggressive and not like cats so I understand I don't know were when you rescue you do sometimes get different stories this guy saying you know one story look at Lena had him for 4 years you do the best you can nobody wants to have a nice apartment that's been chewed up when you could rescue another dog that's going to. A great point I rescued a Pappy on Pappy on he was a bastard somebody he came in they brought him into my home and he was all happy for about the 1st 6 months and then he would start howling to go to my neighbor Kathleen's house and I said you know what he likes her better he didn't like any of the other animals he was he was really of bitch you know if we called him a French cabdriver he just. Seem like snooty you know Pappy own and I said you are you know what I think you should take him because he loves you he cries every day to go and she read took him and now he sleeps in her car well not now but he would sleep in her car in the garage with the would have the AC You know because his dog was obsessed with her he wouldn't let anybody touch him but Kathleen David God forbid David go to pet we go far and the teeth would come out and when she bathed him she'd have to put the snout thing on it was a nightmare I said God bless you but I don't have I don't rescue I can rescue too many animals that will love me back for me to get an a hole I'm not doing it so fast forward. I go down to the shelter to the street in Woodland Hills and I see this white dog because he always said to me you have such a good picker and I said No I've gone through some dogs but I rescued this I said David come down David came down sat with the dog for 3 hours boom that dog doesn't go anywhere without David he's obsessed he sleeps with David he's loyal he loves Kathleen they didn't know what it was like to have a loving dog they had the cab driver for so long he was unable and he treated them horribly and they kept the dog until he died yet because she said I can't not like I know deep down you know he probably was abused. It was too much for me I said I got I have 5 cats and 5 dogs at one point so I get it and forget kids you bring kids and it's all about them so well here's with the shelter employee said he said that he's disappointed that Lena got her to new puppy shortly before giving away Lambie Dunham brought the cute canines with her to The Tonight Show in an appearance in February during the interview in which the new pup for passed around she didn't hit any trouble with Lambie their brother Lambie lives in California and he's more of a Cali kind of guy more laid back west coast dude she blows looks after him I wonder what he was I don't know well if this is the thing I've done lots of magazines layouts where they come in your pants are there I've done it for I don't know like Us Weekly and maybe people and I had somebody else look like monogamy I'm in a chair with all my 5 cats and 5 dogs around me. And probably one of those dogs was Aussie and I had to give him away I get what that's like it's like they're on their best behavior 1st as they're like oh my god what's up with this house and this chick and she feeds me all the time that's real turkey out of it that I think the humans eat that on on their daily bread. Yeah they go from whatever circumstances into this house but their true personality will always come out and sometimes they can be a little aggressive and sometimes and I just won't stand for it and I've gone against I had this animal group say to me we will never come back to go daily I said Oh make no mistake I will never have you back to Goodale a your dog killed my cat and it's one thing for that to happen it's another thing for you to be so callous and cruel about it screw you you just forfeited your right to be I'm going to l.a. To that happened privately or didn't happen on the air privately. And I talked about it on the air you know me I have to mention the group's name on the air no but I did say we won't be working with a specific group any longer and it was weird it was like this woman come to the cat lady she's kind of the woman who ended up with a lot of surgery and she looked like a cat to feel like a her husband that's not because the cats she saved or maybe she wanted to look like them you know some people go Chile and like my girlfriend was an anchor woman she's like I love your nose so I went to the plastic surgeon with her and he looked at my nose and he's like Ok like that you know she's like oh my God I love this cat right now. And then she starts eating out of you know the Fancy Feast but her husband was this super wealthy record guy and they lived in an alpine in Beverly Hills and a massive huge mansion and they had an animal event and I came up and I pulled up in my tiny little car and. I helped them and I you know towards the end of the day they had cats and dogs and I'm always I'm always looking I wasn't married and have kids and I had a beautiful home that I could you know share and by the end of the day this poor big huge dog was not getting rescued it made me so sad because he was lethargic and I thought you know what I'm going to give him a chance and boy oh boy when it didn't work out they snapped and they're like just because he killed a cat doesn't mean that's a reason to bring him back and I was like whoa whoa whoa my cat is on life support right now and screw you I'm bringing him back and there and furthermore I never worked with you again and she said over never doing could fail and that's what I said Well f. Why I I'm never having you back because I started pet adoption and you're horrible this is horrible and the my cat died and no I was so mad at them so what does your gut tell you about Lena. I don't know I mean you rescue a dog keep it for 4 years something tells me that you you wanted to work out but I don't know why you would make up stories that you know the owner of the original owner of the dog in the original place that it came from said We're not true so there are some people that just like puppies though and yeah. But wait she also said the dog lived on the West Coast and she lives in Manhattan correct right Brooklyn so that's always strange to me how can you have a dog on the other side of the country is it really your dog I mean strange story it is a strange story I'm sure they'll be more out of. Aids 322 that way did I get of the whole moral of the story is that you want to rescue a dog now that I guess no Louis does you want to rescue Lammy. Oh forgot to tell you my birth mom came to visit she was holding it better on the chin drew blood drew blood on Kathleen and drew blood every time I go to get a pair of shoes are going to hell and yeah I'm not going to try to make this work. You know they've got to chill out you know well look at how often people in the state get married and divorced if you get married divorce that many times you can give some dogs back till it's just it's crazy it's crazy and it's not for lack of trying a lot of people get divorced but they'll go through you know counseling before they throw in the towel or as I did I went through dog training for some of these dogs and nothing works and that's when I say No no I work too hard I don't want to go to work every day and worried about you know one of these animals attacking one of my other it's not going to happen or god forbid your kids coming up a Later on in the program James Rojas from the k b c news department is going to stop by it looks like there's one parking lot operator that is trying to create as much of a problem at l.a.x. As possible that involves slowing down their construction and creating traffic jams purpose why because it's crazy so James is all over it I don't get it get a life yeah. That airport is always a mess that airport I'm telling you could do Burbank or Long Beach or John Wayne wow you know what Burbank needs to start getting more flights to more places please because that's so convenient for me I say get spoiled Good luck with that people buy homes next to the airport out there because they get a break autumn and the minute that they become the owner of the home they decide you know what this airport Norge is a pain in the ass right and so they start to ordinance Oh yeah well John Wayne has a very strict one more year almost take off like a helicopter there yeah and later Harrison Ford. They are lucky to take off it all all right so yesterday we had record Ellen to tell you about this get around a lot of us Oh yes yeah because North Korea has been testing missiles and there's chatter that they might be able to hit some portion of the western United States it might be Alaska might be Honolulu might be Los Angeles and you know Rick we were at the United Nations for how many years he's a diplomat he said I like to look at war as a last. You know however Jass resort resort thank you in fact yes a last resort and you know we try to avoid war at all costs and unfortunately we're going to have to and I agree with him it's going to have to come down it's going to hurt for a while but it has to be financially it has to be you have to cut off their money yeah you have to well we have a new wrinkle in the story President Donald Trump said he's contemplating some quote pretty severe things to retaliate against North Korea after it launched an intercontinental ballistic missile this week but the quote is I have some pretty severe things were thinking about he said at a press conference in Warsaw does it mean we're going to do them I don't draw a red lines so what doesn't he has he has to get approval for this is a whole hierarchy well if he's going to impose sanctions then yeah you would have to you know talk to certainly people in those departments within the executive branch there are there are already u.n. Resolutions that prevent countries from doing business with North Korea I just think they do it anyway so I don't know if you would go through the u.n. Or he would do it himself or he just go after the banks but there are certain certainly ways that he can make life miserable for those who do business with North Korea here to weigh in on this is the author of the unauthorized autobiography of Kim Jong Il columnist and author Michael Malice Michael thanks so much for joining us thank you Michael help us out what we haven't been I don't recall ever being in a situation like this in my lifetime where you've got Trump and Kim Jong. Il. Sorry father. Very unstable with a lot of powerful weapons at their hands what do you do. They're more stable than if they don't have the leaders of the last 70 years I mean if we had so. Idea that they're crazy and unstable is a myth they'd outlasted all the other Soviet countries so they know exactly to do it because they're a dictatorship I mean it's not good for the people yeah they've 33 people have run it but that's not necessarily a good thing they don't have democracy like we did we've had tons of people because we are a democracy I understand that well my point is that the idea that there are any moment going to drop off is false they very stable they don't care about their people's lives which makes it that much harder to get the regime out of power when the Soviet Union is falling Gorbachev was worried that the people are poor and hungry and he saw Ok you know the West is a better kind of alternative when Kim Kim Jong un's older brother Kim Jong nam who was recently assassinated he wanted to liberalize and Kim Jong Il passed him over for that their reason yeah and he had the female assassins go in I mean what is up with that story line we saw that all unfold in our jaws were on the floor those women are they full on they acted like we didn't really know this we were doing the full on new Did they have to be like Manson girls there's no there's no question that they knew what they were doing North Korea in the eighty's when Seoul was granted an Olympics they had 2 agents they sent aboard a plane and they put a bomb aboard the plane they got off when the plane was making a layover and that plane blew up and killed hundreds of people so and for this reason they were the state sponsor of terrorism list for a very long time until towards the end of his presidency President Bush took them off so these are soldiers getting a lympics next year so this bodes very poorly for what kind of chicanery they might hope what do you think the end game is for them because you know certainly he doesn't like South Korea he doesn't like Japan he doesn't like the United States but if he causes too much of a problem then any one of those countries could take him out so that's not true you don't think if we could have taken him out we would have taken him to keep in mind that in 1968 they captured one of our ships and held it 23. Think of our crewmen hostage for a year we can get them out so these people have nukes they have missiles aimed at Seoul which is directly south their border Can you imagine what that would look like a city of skyscrapers of 25000000 people being hit by missiles like one after another so they have the largest sub training infrastructure of any country on earth they are constantly having bodyguards and all kinds of systems around and no one knows where he is at a given time so the idea that we could go in and take him out I mean it's not that simple we can even take out Castro you know 60 years ago well so what like John was asking earlier is what is his end game just a you know his kids will take over and they will live in palaces and the people are bar forever they you know they live poorly and this just continues to the cycle goes on look let's you look at what happened in Iraq with Saddam Hussein and if you look at what happened in Libya with Khadafi whenever these regimes go down the people at the top are personally executed and with good reason so even if he wanted to make things better for his people he and his family are not a position to do so everyone even the leadership is a prisoner of this horrific trap that the that the Kim family has built so why does he keep testing these missiles knowing that he's pissing off the entire world and he's now on all his radar 1st of all it gives him power to be able to say look we're a country the size of Pennsylvania and in their words were slapping America in the face number one number 2 is a big source of North Korea's revenue is illegal arms shipments these are commercials for their product they're demonstrating their missiles can fly far and they're also demonstrate their missiles do a great job of keeping Russia China Japan South Korea and the u.s. At bay which if they combine forces would be by far the strongest military force the world ever seen so right and he's also gloating that he's making Americans hysterical and that there seems to be very little that we can do about it now how well does that play back home in terms of look what a great leader I am America who is our sworn enemy is basically having about them for us. What about China because they're they're in many ways a satellite of China and China if they want to pull the plug on them theoretically I guess they would be the one with the best opportunity yes what how does this play within the Chinese government China doesn't want a unified Korea right on their border and you can't blame them China doesn't want 24000000 North Koreans who probably have never been online prostitution river and have been mentioned earlier who don't speak Chinese who don't have any skills of their own so and North Korea is the source of cheap labor for them and it's also a place where Chinese people go through it because I think one of the few countries where they could be wealthy so yes China is sick in many ways of their shenanigans chimed not one defend the idea that a college student goes on a tour and murdered I mean they're trying to be taking fighting with leaders but the same time there is there's a huge incentive for China to if not maintain the status quo at least regard the status quo as preferable to alternative which is a complete catastrophe you mentioned you know you've got millions of people they've never been online it fascinates me that this family has been able to isolate a vast majority of people to a way of life that they have no clue about Forget Western Civilization civilization just civilization at this point how. And also the world looks at them as a bit of a you know an outsider Dennis Rodman. But he's got a lot of power and size of Pennsylvania how is it that people haven't been able to go in and you know band together as countries and say This guy's a menace and he's threatening and we don't want that well that's exactly why I wrote my book Dear reader because this did not have this is a very long methodical step by step process to ensure that these people basically will turn into living into a giant prison and let me give you an example people often ask why don't the people just rise up and overthrow thing. Getting that bad right well here's one thing that they do it's not just the concentration camps they have which are levels of evil North Korea everyone in North Korea slotted into a group if your coworkers your neighborhood your school and once a week you have to get up in front of that group and say what you did wrong that week and then your colleagues have to say what they saw you doing wrong so everyone is always watching each other all the time and publicly making declarations so that people and people say that the Kim family are crazy this is brilliant and it's evil in terms of making everyone in the country necessarily a spy on their closest colleagues you know what this reminds me of it reminds me of Scientology where they have to go in there and they have to do the auditing and then which is kind of like seeing your psychiatrist or psychologist and they videotape you will you're doing it so right tell them your most intimate secrets and use it against and then when you decide one day you know what the Church of Scientology is in for me oh yeah Tom Cruise John Travolta we know everything that you've done in the last 30 years or 40 years you really want to go and we leak negative stories and we we have power to destroy your career and destroy your ability to earn a living if you really want to lead the church of scientology it's Ok here's the thing John Travolta obviously has not missed a meal in the last few years has. The North Koreans use food as a mechanism of political control in that the amount of food you get from the government is based strictly on how close your family is to the regime. So I have you when you were writing this book did you speak with did you meet anyone where you then that's also another whole other I know you know I went there I was in the same hotel as out of one directly in the same floor as him wow oh my God this is one more segment because I'm here to find out what life is like tonight with the God of he was on the same floor as auto I'm dying Our guest is Michael Malice He's a columnist and author of the book dear reader the an authorized autobiography of Kim Jong Il available online at Amazon dot com You can follow him on Twitter at Michael Malice coming up on the drive home Talk Radio 790 k b c. And 346 Talk Radio 790 k. A.b.c. The drive home with Jillian Barberie John Phillips Our guest is Michael Malice who is a columnist and author of Dear Reader The unauthorized autobiography of Kim Jong Il and before the break Michael you were telling us that you've been to North Korea you did it as part of your research for your book and you stayed at the same hotel that auto one bear was staying in what was life like when you were in North Korea well when you go to North Korea like going to another planet back in time so everything you see has been chosen right by the government so everything is a little off and a little weird and at the same time you can't escape the atmosphere of the k. So wherever you look everyone will have a crack every door will have a stain if there's an elevator bank with but one of the buttons snatched and everywhere I went even on the plane that was the fly which is the kind of biblical thing you go there and because they don't have ventilation you have we now live anywhere which I still have and some of the books that I brought. But when you see the people and interact with them they are so. Normal that it makes your heart break that they are trying to have a semblance of humanity in the most inhumane place on earth and I made the point that everywhere in the street I would get in people's face because I'm not just New Yorker and I can get away with that just to see their sincere reaction and you see teenage girls giggling and you see grandmas with their grand kids. You know smiling happily and you see the teenage boys who thought they were too tough to view you know side and kind of roll their eyes. There it's it's amazing how little. All this oppression has changed the personalities of regular people Ok question I'm dying to know 1st of all you must really want to write about it to go into a situation like that 2nd how do you what's the pretense that you're there under and Sir do you want to pull him aside be like Ok here's my cell phone call the internet I want to see if you want to hear. Like I know they have no Internet service there but like aren't there things you could have shown and you think they'd even believe you. I so many questions it's fascinating Well my guy you know I was born the Soviet Union and my guide reminded me a lot of my mom and I asked her what do you want me to send you from outside Korea and she goes a Porsche and I said lady and I send you a Porsche. And she goes she wanted perfume and then we said what kind of type and she was struggling with the language because if you've never owned a perfume How are you going to find the words to describe fragrance and the words she was finally stumbling on was feminine she just wanted to smell pretty but she can't have that even though she's super wealthy because there's not a lot in the whole country because they don't manufacture it well I smuggle some to her so I got her perfume so now the thing is it's. In the big cities there is an awareness of the outside world they are aware that therefore they are aware of South Korea and all this other stuff so there's an increasing sense of why are we living like this even though we love our leaders when the rest of the world is so much wealthier and why are we scrounging for food and another example. My God she's this rich city girl you know I mean you know kind of a social life it would be the equivalent and she was telling us how once a year everyone in the country goes to the countryside it has to help with the rice harvest and me being pleasant I'm link Oh that sounds very nice and she's like yeah that's great and you can imagine this we'll see city girl having a dig in the mud for her it's like you kidding me when you do this for. The personalities are so normal that it's heartbreaking and the one thing that I took away the most and it when people asked about North Korea they take you to school in the school is fake and these are the children of all the prominent people you know this is the fancy and they're dressed up in the little military suits and they look at Dorval and until the day I die I will never stop hearing the sounds of those chest cold and those kids coughing and knowing that they're not going to have medicine or warm clothes and these are the rich people oh my gosh that really puts it into perspective now do you do you think that they're aware of the family the Kim Jong family and how I mean are they terrified of them do they know that other people have freedoms like that you have a freedom that you can are they are they aware of how oppressed they are and they're just making the best of it it depends on where you write like in America if you have someone in a rural area versus someone in New York City what do you think of Washington you can have very different answers right so they are there may not be aware of how oppressed they are but there are different levels of awareness and the thing is they don't think of the ruling family as people they the best way to think of how they think of Kim Jong un is how we think of Uncle Sam Now we all know Uncle Sam And we know he's a great guy but if I ask you. Who are Uncle Sam's nephews and nieces the thought went into your head right what do you mean he's an uncle he's got to have them think in those terms right that's kind of how the fact that Kim Jong il was married and had kids would never even enter their head because he's kind of this entity that surpasses humanity what about for restaurants because we know that they're starving they're eating tree bark in parts of North Korea. As a tourist when you're in Pyongyang or in a big city are there restaurants you can go to where you can get normal type of food or words does everyone just eat poorly Yeah like you know I mean when you go on a tour they make sure you have decent food By decent I mean it would probably be the equivalent of like a like a takeout restaurant you know like a hole in the wall you know not terrible it's not wonderful right and there are increasing restaurants for the wealthy but you're not I mean this is a country that barely has electricity a lot of time but when inflow or towns you have like someone who cooks at their home and then they you know they can sell that kind of stuff so it's not really a restaurant for that now you spent how long were you there for a week one week and you were in the same hotel on the same floor as auto who died did you have much interaction did you were you there did you see him get arrested when I wasn't at the same time as him I mean basically when you go on a tour I know he was at the young got a hotel in the hotel is on an island in the middle of the page on River which flows to Pyongyang and it's nicknamed the Alcatraz the fun because you're not allowed to leave. Your gated by nationality so the guards weren't allowed on our floor. Oh they were not allowed on your floor no they pushed me to d.c. And things like that Ok so they segregated you with the rest of the round eyes wide open Yeah. I had some had some stories and were you ever fearful that it just seems to me I don't know the I know that he took a sign down to that boy a boy that was punishable by I don't know what the hell they did to him but it wasn't pleasant he ended up Dad are you mindful of dotting the i's and crossing the t's because it seems like something as frivolous as taking a sign down is punishable by hard labor if you go to the White House and you trespass on the floor you're not supposed to do and you steal Hillary Clinton's portrait you think the Secret Service is going to wag their finger at you I don't know that I'm going to end up hogtied and dead after a while. He wasn't supposed to end up dead that's why they got rid of him when you have a hostage you don't want the body to die you're quite your watch you want to get rid of that body before it gets cold which is what exactly they did when they capture people like this they do so with some pretense so he was not only stealing a portrait he was also trespassing on a 40 was supposed to and if you're North Korean guard and you catch us interior list trespassing you better turn a manner that's going to your head so then there's this whole dominoes that get that off. Well I would imagine the guard would think yes I got a you know true yeah right and maybe I'll be looked at favorably braai this by the Emperor direct when Willie Brown was speaker of the state assembly state in the Lincoln bedroom he said he stole the bathrobe and all he got it was the marriage ship to San Francisco.
