big development just coming in on the professor accused in the rampage at the university of alabama, new red flag, amy bishop arrested in 2002 accused of punching a mother at a restaurant because she lost the last child booster seat plus now hearing from the professor, amy's close friend who survived friday's shooting. she talks about what ran through her mind as she stard down the barrel of a gun. a plus arrested in the disappearance of his bride, new bride. police in california say he didn't report her missing for days and find more than 300 marijuana plants in his home. it's bizarre. this hour, he's behind bars. the case now treated as a homicide investigation. what happened ryan bunnel crow. just 23 years old. you are a huge part of the show. love hearing from you, call in, 1-877-tell-hln's the phone number. e-mail us, join the conversation on facebook or you can text us: welcome. this is "prime news." i'm mike galanos. to those stories in a minute first nearly three months after the tiger woods scandal broke fans will get to see him, hear him talk, his agent informed the media today he will make a live statement friday morning. his agent describes it as a talk to a small group of friends, close associates. a live tv pool camera be allowed as there will be a limited number of reporters, no questions will be taken. well be covering it live. 11:# 11:00 a.m. his agent says he will discuss his past, his future and intends to apologize for his behavior. what should we expect. joining us to talk about, this welcome back golf reporter friend and colleague of my jim huber has covered the game and tiger a long time also marvettebrittle and a sport attorney who has unique insight on. this before the guests, i want to invite you in on the consideration. what do you want to hear and think tiger should say. call in, facebook, as well. you know the phone number, 1-877-tell-hln. jim, starting with you, what can we expect from tiger friday morning? >> i think what we can expect a couple of serious mai kulpas. i think he will tell us first he will play in the interclub -- they play every year for fun and fri volty. >> that will be when, jim, next weekend? >> no, the first weekend in march. >> okay. >> then from there he will go to bayhill and, again, another controlled situation where he'll be amongst neighbors and friends at bay hill in arnold's tournament. arnold will make sure he is not harassed and will go to augusta, where it is always controlled. >> "control" a big word here. do you -- i mean, he's not an emotional guy, right, jim? do you expect emotions, do you expect tears from tiger woods. >> well, i think if he's honest us with us, yes. i think it's going to be very interesting to see how he handles this. the times that i've been around him and i've known him for almost 15 years now, the times that i've been around him, he has been very controlled and very guarded with his emotions. he rarely lets it fly very often. it's going to be very interesting to see just how much he opens up with us. >> marvette, this is the beginning or one of the first steps in him rebuilding his image. i don't want to be sappy here but some tears would help, wouldn't they. >> i think we are going to see a very humble tiger woods. i think we will see him emerge and immediately apologize to his family, fans and endorsers, particularly those who have supported him. didn't know we'll necessarily see tears. i think he will be composed and very serious. but, i do think we'll hear tiger explain what took place, maybe even shoot down some of the myths that have been swirling and we'll see him ask for forgiveness and hear his plans to move forward with his golf career. >> okay. ryan, let's get you in on this one, not only what you expect, ryan, but, also the format of this, is this what he has to do? because some are saying, come on, take the questions, step up and be a man. others say, this is what you have to do, you have to be in control, your thoughts on that? >> i think that's right. i mean, i think the sense here is to give him some semblance of control but part of the problem is a lot of this so far has been about control. in a way, maybe it would help to open it up, take some questions. what you have here maybe five to ten minutes of a statement talking about what he's going to do in the future and the other thing i think he has to do in those future plans, he has to talk about what he's going to do positive, not just in golf, but in life. >> okay. marvet, should he talk about elin, her thoughts on him playing golf, how the -- they're doing as far as repairing the marriage? >> i anticipate tiger will touch on that briefly -- but i believe this should remain private between he and hi wis wife. i wouldn't expect him to dig deep into the particulars how they will e hernlg but agamerge expect him to talk about this and how this affected her but i don't anticipate tiger giving us too much information how this has affected them or their marriage. >> jim, i would hope in the midst of this tiger would tell us elin supports this, his return to golf. i was the one hey show your wife you are serious about repairing the marriage. miss the masters and a few tournaments. >> he has missed a few already, mike. i think he needs to get back there and into the hunt and i think he needs his wife to be with him friday. it will be interesting to see whether she is even there or not. she was there in mississippi from what we understand, she visited several times from what i've understood, she's called off the divorce and so they are making serious steps toward, you know, making the marriage work. >> yeah. i think most say, hey, if they can repair this marriage, great. if she has a forgiving heart like that, that's wonderful. we'll continue this conversation. again we have our experts standing by and want to hear from you, 1-877-tell-hln is the phone number. what would you like to hear? what do you expect friday morning? we are continuing our conversation. we will hear from tiger woods friday morning. his agent made that announcement. tiger woods, not a press conference dubbed a talk, very controlled, limited number of people, friends, colleagues, a few reporters, not taking any questions. friday, 11:00 a.m. we'll cover it live on hln. we have our experts standing by and will take your calls, 1-877-tell-hln. facebook comments pouring in one from cory writing she have come out a lot sooner to address these allegations. he has dug a deep hole that will most likely take years to get out. jim huber is with us, a golf expert that covered tiger a long time and the game. how will fans receive him? i know a population of fans are probably mad at us in the media for kfrg this and want to see him play but others might be lukewarm. don't you think? >> i think those are the fringe fans, to be honest. i think the avid fans want to see tiger back and playing good. he's got a huge fan base supporting him. from what i've been able to read on facebook and twitter this afternoon after this was announced like get it over with, let's see you back out there, come on. so, i think the response is going to be good. there is going to be the fringe lunatics but he can handle that. >> yeah. good point. marvet -- and jim can help me if i go astray -- but tom watson basically calling out tiger of on-course antics throwing clubs and cussing basically calling him out and that needs to stop, as well. do you agree with that? >> i think tiger should come back and play in the most passionate focused way. who are we to say what he should do? tiger has to do what's best for him. i think we ashould afford tiger the same level of forgiveness we have afforded other high-profile individuals who committed similar transgressions. i don't think we should judge how he should come back or when he should come back. i really commend him for stepping away for three months and not going on with his life business as usual. >> right. >> let sees it see him first before we ascertain how he should, you know, emerge. >> i mean, i respectfully disagree. i think some contrition and i don't want to see him cussing and carry on on the course. i want to see him focused golf and personally would have stayed away another three months and missed the masters and would have been a huge statement for his family. >> you have to remember -- that's tiger and elin. >> with athletes particularly, a lot of the cursing as in the case of serena williams incident comes from the passion of the game and things that just take place in the workplace. i don't think we should really look at that. we really should be more than concerned about his moral behavior as it pertains to his life off of the golf course. >> i she ryan nodding his head. you want in on this. >> i think it is about his moral behavior but the one thing we have to acknowledge here this is not just a golfer but an icon, one of the most famous athletes in the world known outside of golf far and away all over the world i. don't think it is just how golf fans feel about him and whether or not he plays in the masters. i think he needs to come out contrite and humble, does he care what the public thinks and sponsors? if he does, there has to be a broader apology and less of a controlled environment. i want to see that humility come out and -- >> key word there, "humility" here is another facebook from gwynn. but, i say he built a billion dollar empire on this image and let a lot of fans down and he's going to apologize to them, i think we know that guys. spirited conversation, we appreciate it. we'll continue with more on this at 6:00 if you didn't get in there. keep the facebook comments coming and phone calls. also this the deeper we dig the more we feigned out about amy bishop, again accused of shooting and killing three colleagues university of alabama in huntsville last week and learning she had anger problems, big time going after another mom at an ihop because the other mom got the last child booster seat? welcome back it "prime news" on hln. stunning revelation just coming in on the professor accused in the rampage at the university of alabama. arrested in 2002, accused of punching a mom at a restaurant because the other mom got the last child booster seat. we'll delve into that and also missing documents from the 1986 shooting death of her brother, amy smith shot her brother but it was ruled an accident. the report missing, buried somewhere 20 years now found. incredible details emerging on that, as well, plus learning more about friday's shooting at the university of alabama huntsville. now hearing from amy's close friend the professor who survived the shooting. she relives the nightmare. >> i could have been one of the ones shot, i mean, but i wasn't. and at least the good -- the good thing, the luck, good providence, what god was looking out for us, whatever, she followed me in the hall and then, you know, the gun jammed and i could get back in the room. so, i mean, that's not being a hero, that's just god looks out for you. >> wow, that is a brave lady there. we'll take your calls on, this 1-877-tell-hln. joining us to talk about this welcome back radio talk show host psychologist cooper lawrence author of "the cult of celebrity" also mike brooks hln law enforcement n menment analy michelle sigona. i saw you nodding as that hero, debra moriarty is a hero. she saved how many lives do you think, mike? >> i tell you what, a lot. that woman, oh, no, i was just lucky. no, she wasn't lublgy, she was a true hero but as you said the gun jammed and gave her a chance. amazing. >> let's listen to more. again, deb moriarty talking about just what mike is talking about coming face to face staring down the barrel of a gun. >> she stepped out into the hall and pointed the gun at me and pulled the trug ger and it clicked and i know i yelled at her, amy, think about my grandson, think about my daughter. >> wow. a plea for life. >> it clicked. so that says to me most likely she had run out of ammunition at that particular point. so, i mean, you talk about being lucky. and unbelievable. >> divine intervention as deb put it. cooper, as we hear those details about this friend, as far as her colleagues go, this lady, debra moriarty was her closest friend telling her think about my grandchild, didn't matter. she pointed it anyway. where is she, in a zone of rage and fury. >> the thing about aggression which is so fascinating. somebody who has what psychologists call aggressive cognitions, you can't reason with somebody in that state of aggression and that state of violence. they are just going to behavior. they are not thinking about consequences, they all on impulsesivity. she got very lucky more than anything else because this woman was in the position she was ready to pull that trigger. >> think of my grand child sounds like it didn't register at all. >> it didn't and wouldn't because once you are in that state you are in that state like a moving train. you don't stand in front of a moving train and say, think about my grandkids. >> we hear about 2002 going off at an ihop, what's the deal there? >> that's correct. i spoke with the pea body police earlier today and they went through an account play by play back in 2002, just after -- about 11:59 in the morning and investigators responded to an ihop with reports of a woman r verbally assaulting another woman and actually laid her hands on this other woman so they got there and actually amy was gone at the time. and so the manager had come outside, able to get her tag number and that's how investigators tracked her down. she got very upset when a booster seat was given to another family not her. she went up started yelling at this woman who got the last booster seat and punched her in the side of the head. >> wow! >> she was tellley chargactuall she entered a plea agreement. she was given six months probation and she did follow up the requirements with that particular probation so. the case still stands on her oovbut there may not be a guilty conviction if you search her depending on what kind of access you have on records. >> a misdemeanor and probably won't show up. >> a mom of four punching a lady in the head over a booster seat? >> mike, you can't put logic to this. >> i guess not. >> this is the big lesson about female aggression. we look at women and say they are having a bad day or what's wrong that lady. you don't realize these are warning signs, the fact she shot her brother years ago. my guess there are more incidents and more people will come forward and say, you know, she knocked me over in this store and punched me here. these things don't happen in a vacuum but we have to take female aggression more seriously. >> she should have been locked up in 19 86 when she shot her brother, seth. >> we are getting new revelations from the report and it surfaced and it doesn't make no sense why this was so quickly ruled an accident. welcome back to "prime news" on hln. tiger woods finally breaking his silence expected to speak to a small group of friends, colleagues, close associates, friday morning in florida. his agent says woods will discuss his past, his future, and he intends to apologize for his behavior. now, just a few reporters will be there. tiger woods will not take any questions. okay. with that said, what should tiger say? what do you want to hear from tiger woods? call in, 1-877-tell-hln. we'll be talking about tiger woods and him finally speaking out on friday. first this, the story is heart breaking a 23-year-old woman in salinas, california, newlywed, disappears without a trace. last seen by her husband nearly three weeks ago. last night police arrested him and police say they are now dealing with a homicide. no body has been found but police are moving forward with murder charges against jesse john crow. not only that they raided his home earlier this month and found 300 marijuana plants, sophisticated growing. what is that about? kimber, tell us about jesse john crow and his actions about his wife goes missing, what do we know? >> well, we know that ryan's family and friends conducted two searches, i believe he was not involved with any of that and he pretty much stayed away from the media. we tried talking to him and he declined. he was advised by his lawyer not to. when we spoke to the family they said they had not stayed in contact with him and vice versa. >> mike brooks, we don't want to jump to conclusions but an you a tick red flag when a husband is not involved in searches for his wife. >> exactly. they live in prunedale, a suburb of salinas. they found her car about 90 miles north of there. you know, find it interesting, too, mike, he was arrested on tuesday evening about 9:00 p.m. local in pacific grove, california by the salinas police which says to me that they were following this guy, waiting for certain things to come back. now, they have conducted some search warrants. those are all sealed. they are not saying what they found. they did search his car and also searched apparently his parents' house, not saying what they found there but apparently had enough to go ahead and take him down in his vehicle and when they did, there was another woman in the vehicle with him. >> okay. back to kimber. she's last seen, what, january 30th, is that right? >> yes. then she was reported missing bis her family members on february 1st when she -- she failed to show up to work for about two days oopz. >> who reported her missing, her husband or family? >> her family. family. >> family. what's he done since, has he cooperated at all with authorities? >> according to police, he has been cooperating, he's been in contact with them daily. at some point, when i spoke to police this morning that, you know, they said all along it's been a missing persons case and they didn't have a suspect or know where she was but police said that at some point during the investigation the detectives received some leads and some evidence to switch this over to a homicide case and named him a suspect. >> okay. what about the arrest for the 300 pot plants, kimber, did that take place the same day she was reported missing, the time line here smimplsts i believe so, yes. >> mike, how does that figure into all of this, justed asidebar we are dealing with? >> another federal charge here. you know, must have been mr. hydroponics himself. but law enforcement now believes she's diseased and he is responsible so now the main thing is where is she? that's what they need to find. >> kimber, one more as far as the relationship between ryan and his wife, when did they meet, how lounge have they known each other, do we know any of those details? >> you know, we don't have those details. >> okay. >> we just know that we were newlyweds and that's pretty much it. >> okay. mike, there was a report it was pretty much a whirlwind romance it sounds, met in july, married in august, how does that factor in? >> how well did she know this guy, how well did her family know this guy? and the whole thing is, he wasn't anywhere when they were doing searches for her, wasn't out there helping the search, leading searchers like a newlywed husband should have been. i know it's all circ shans and i'm sure law enforcement had to have enough probable cause to go ahead and arrest him in his car and take him down there. >> i'll ask you both this, kimber, anybody talking motive at all? >> no, no -- the police decline to release much information really. i think we are going to learn more about this case. the salinas police department is supposed to conduct a press conference tomorrow, the day -- i mean, the time and where that will be is still unknown, though. >> mike? >> wait until the interviews before they give out details at all. that's good police work. >> thanks so much. we appreciate it. coming up want to update toyota, a recall, ali velshi will join us from our sister network, cnn to update toyota and answer your financial questions so call in 1-877-tell-hln's the phone number. plus this, sarah palin versus family guy. she's upset about a recent epsewed that featured a teen with down syndrome. we know her son, trigg, has down syndrome. family guy going too far? what do you think? call in, 1-877-tell-hln. all right. toyota still trying to save face today the company announced major changes to guarantee safety. here's what they are told, adding a brake override system to kill the engine for future cars plus considering regarding corollas for a power steering problem and saying he would not testify before congress this month. over eight million calls recalled and tragically 34 deaths blamed on sudden acceleration. shouldn't he testify? as always we take your calls, 1-877-tell-hln. back with us, ali velshi, author of "give me my money back" and always there for you to give you good solid, free financial advice and keeping us updated on toyota. what is your headline today with toyota? >> the chairman said that the head of the u.s. operation will actually testify. this corolla issue, the numbers don't yet warrant a recall. nitsa says the same thing looking at it carefully the steering problem with the corrow las. i think this rehighly sinttized to things now at toyota. if it looks like it is becoming a problem or numbers warrant it they will probably issue a recall. i will tell you this if you have a toyota and have a problem with it i think they will be very open trying to solve your problem quickly before this new problem gets out of hand. i kind of feel bad for them now because i think anything will come under scrutiny and they say at toyota they are changing the way they do things, hiring more quality control people and changing their system so they don't get into this mess again. >> going o outside people. >> yes. >> to monitor and inspect parts and the like, right? >> you need an outside party. you don't want somebody inside being overcautious because sometimes won't do that that will cost the company a lot of money like this recall involving mechanics working 24/7 in some cases through the weekend. outside sources say you have a problem and have to get in front of this thing right now. >> let's be clear with viewers and especially with toyotas, what is this brake override, can you give us an example of how it's going to work? >> they are talking about, you know, i don't know the mechanics of it that well, because talking about a system built into future cars when there is acceleration, unintended for any case they have a system that overrides that, a way the brake can eliminate acceleration and stop the car if it is lurching forward. >> we'll keep updated on this. thanks on that front. >> my pleasure. >> again financial questions, call in if you'd like, phoni 1-877-tell-hln here's one from ramish in new jersey wondering i was wondering if you could provide insights where the mortgage rates will go from here. all right, crystal ball time, i guess. start there, what are your thoughts. >> we are at record lows, you can still get a conforming mortgage, meaning generally under $417,000, a 30-year fixed mortgage in the 5% area some, people can even do better than. i have to tell you, i wouldn't bet on interest rates going any lower when you look at the federal reserve the rate is 0 to a quarter of a percent making brim about 3%. i would look in and take as much of a lock as you need and take your mortgage now. you know, if house prices go down a year from now which some people are predicting they will and mortgage rates go up by 1% or 1.15% it erases a 10 or 15% drop in the mark. if you take a mortgage for 10 -- 15 or 30 years is much more pont to you than the price of the house right now. >> that's the rest of his question, should i refinance now, he's getting offered 5% with no points. >> a good deal. >> you are saying jump at it. >> i think that's good advice. >> another thing i want to hit on here, more general, but you and i both we have seen e-mails and facebook comments coming in about credit. >> yes. >> you know, and how it's like that what has happened to a lot of people they overextended. >> yes. >> then they get late then that interest rate goes up. >> yeah. >> 20%, 25% on a pretty high balance. give us some steps because there is a lot of people, what do i do? number one try and work with the cred dor right. >> yeah, most stuff you can do yourself it requires you being tenacious. first you have to understand to line up your credit cards, loans whatever you pay and aggressive pay off the highest first. some people say pay double on your highest credit card and your minimum on the lowest credit card. let me give you a number. if you have $10,000 in credit card debt which by the way a lot of americans do and say you are paying 18% interest which, again, we've talked to people paying 27, 28%, say 18% at $10,000 and you pay the minimum every month it take you 48 years to pay off that $10,000. people don't understand how much of a trp this is. you hit your highest credit card first and start paying it off. if you can, go to a bank and say i can consolidate this, trade in all my credit cards you see them cancel them and take a loan to pay this off and pay you monthly at a lower rate? a lot of credit card companies you if pay on time for three or six months will allow you to lower your rate again but don't be late after that again because that'll hurt you. >> you've got to show a good faith effort. >> you do. they may not do it instantly but the bottom line be tenacious, keep on looking for a better deal and whittle away at them but try to pay more than your minimum. that's the enemy. >> that's good advice a. lot of people are fighting that right now. coming up sarah palin's family calling the writers heart louse jerks fee tearing you a character with down syndrome. we know her son, trigg, has down syndrome. what do you think, does the show go too far? call in, 1-877-tell-hln. folks who do not like sarah palin are at it again now making fun of her down syndrome baby little trigg this comes from the makers of the fox show "family guy" during last sunday's episode one of the characters on a date with a girl who has down syndrome. here's the clip. >> you got to be rude all evening? you haven't asked me anything about myself. >> oh. um, sorry. um, so what do your parents do? >> that's better. my dad's an accountant and my mom is the former governor of alaska scl. >> there you go. i know it is "family guy" and travel the line of decency but come on. one thing to disagree with her politics, another thing to do this. a lot of comments pouring in. joining us to talk about this jennifer armstrong, senior writer "entertainment weekly" also david tollison executive director for the international down sing drome congress. >> let's listen to sarah palin responding on fox news here's what she told bill o'reilly about this. >> this world is full of cruel, cold-hearted people who would do this sort of thing. i look at trigg and see a precious little child already tolgdzing around and see he has a heart of gold and i can also see into the future trigg is going to have a pretty tough challenging life in front of him, he will face things as special needs children face much more difficult than we so why make it tougher on the special needs community? that's what i thought when i first heard about this episode that really isn't funny. >> a lot of facebook comments coming in. holly writing. david, how offended were you when you saw the "family guy" episode? >> well, mike, it really is very concerning to those of us who realize that this is a population that historically has been the subject of sigmatization and discrimination and it was very, very concerning, the hurtful and stereotypical language that was used throughout the segment. >> jennifer, don't you think seth mcfarland and the folks at "family guy" went too far with this? >> you know, they go too far all of the time is what they do. you know, i'm not a huge fan of the show itself. it's what they do. they are kind of equal opportunity offenders not that that excuses what they do but, you know, they did do, i don't know if you want to say a good job but they were being inclusive and her main kind of character was not so much that she had down syndrome but going on this date with chris and he really liked her and ultimately rejected him but they were being inclusive, i guess in their own unique way. >> david does, that soften the blow to you? >> the irony is at the end of the episode, they did mention that people with down syndrome are more alike than different which is a message we do like to get out. however to than different which is a message that we do like to get out. however to use phrases like she's a whorer or learned how to tie her shoelaces and other language like that is not really helpful. the target audience of teen and young adult men are going to, we're afraid, see this as a license to use this kind of language, and it could be repeated in schools across america tomorrow. >> got you. let's get a call in. lakisha's with us from south carolina. lakisha, your thoughts? lakisha, are you with us? >> caller: yes, i'm here. >> hey, go ahead, your thoughts? >> caller: hi. actually i'm and all of my children are huge fans of "family guy." i like the show. it's always been that they've targeted people. we've all gotten it. all nationalities. all disabilities we've gotten into. this baby is the best thing that has come out of sarah palin. i mean if i was her i wouldn't worry about it so much. they did call her out but she's a beautiful baby. >> don't you think a baby's off-limits? i mean, come on. >> caller: sarah palin is not offlimits. >> i know, i'm saying her baby? >> caller: the baby. >> the baby's off-limits? >> caller: yes, yes, i can agree that the baby should had been off-limits but it's not not about what they call you it's what you answer to. he was a beautiful baby. i mean, you know? >> okay. >> caller: i love this show and i'm going to keep watching it. >> lakisha, thanks for the call. get more facebook comments. this one from judy "she put her and her family in the spotlight and these things come with it." judy, i disrespectfully disagree. one thing to be in the spotlight and her daughter bristol mentioned, hey, we have to have a thick skin but come on make fun of a little baby, little trig, down syndrome. way over the line. a big, new development just coming in on the professor accused in the rampage, the university of alabama in huntsville. new red flag, amy bishop arrested in 2002. brand-new to us. she's accused of punching a mom at a restaurant because the other mom got the last child booster seat? we're also now hearing from the professor, amy's close friend, who survived friday's shooting. the big here no all of this. she talks about what ran through her mind as she stared is down the barrel of a gun. and plus a husband arrested in the disappearance of his new bride. police in california say he didn't report missing for days and then they fine out more than 300 marijuana plants in his home. this is bizarre. she's now behind bars. the case now treated as a homicide investigation. still want to know what happened to this young 23-year-old woman? as always we take your calls 1-877-tell-hln's the phone number. e-mail us, join the conversation on facebook or you can text us at hln tv. it's your chance to be heard. welcome. this is hour number two of "prime news." i'm mike galanos. all right, here we go. nearly three months after the tiger woods' scandal broke, fans will finally get to see him, hear him talk about it. his agent informed us today that tiger woods will make a live statement on friday morning. n now, his agent describes it as a talk to a small group of friends. colleagues, close associates. now there will be a live tv pool camera that will be allowed in as well. a number of limited reporters. no questions will be taken. we'll tell you, this we'll be covering it live friday morning 11:00 a.m. eastern. and now tiger woods will discuss his past, his future, what he plans to do, and also intends to apologize for his behavior, obviously. so can we expect? public relations, brand strategist marvette britto. back with us ryan smith. entertainment attorney and host for "in session" our our host network trutv and joining us my friend/colleague host of "issues" with jane jane velez-mitchell. here we go, tiger's going to lay it out there a little bit anyway, friday morning. what do you expect? what does he need to say friday? >> well, i think he needs to give us something. i think the public wantings something more than some predictable trite apology. he's already done that in writing. so if this is very stagey, if it wreaks of stageiness, if it's overly controlled, if it comes off like some kind of soviet-era photo-op, i think it's going to backfire on him terribly. the public is very sophisticated about these things at this point. and it's not going to be enough to just say, i'm sorry. they're going to want to hear something new. some new piece of information where they can say, i'm satisfied. he's given me something. >> got you. >> he doesn't give us anything new i don't think it's going to work. >> okay hit that on a on couple of fronts. marvette, let's talk about that. if you are advising woods, jane is saying give us something. make this statement, hits points a, b and c for us. >> i think that the thing that we want to see is a very humble and contrite tiger. one who displays sincere humility. number two, jane is correct. hearing all these allegations swirling. so we want tiger to really give us some sort of -- we want to live inside of his mind and in his world over the last three months and that really will, i think, satisfy the thirst that we see that the public has clearly had. and then, third, we want to hear how tiger plans to act differently moving forward. both towards his personal persona and his public. so i think those are things that, if tiger taps on those, that the public will be satisfied, embrace his apology, and allow him to move forward. >> okay, we'll see about that. let's get ryan in on this. marvette, "embrace his apology," yet jane is probably speaking for a lot of people, saying wait a minute, if you are going to come clean, let it loose and let some people ask some questions. do you like this controlled nature, ryan? or do you think that he should answer some questions. >> i think that he's got to answer some questions. already, no press questions, anything like that? that makes it tricky for him. not only give something new but say something specific. say something about his marriage, say something about these women, and then at the is a time, talk about what he's going do differently. that's very important here because don't want to come off as an entitled athlete who feels like they don't have to say anything. i think that he's got to do something to put himself out there. >> you know that he's going to be scripted but i'd almost advise him, and marvette, help me out here. to take a chance in the sense. maybe say something that might draw out some emotion. now, i'm not suggesting, you drum up tears, but if they come, they come and that would say authenticity, right? on absolutely. and i do expect tiger to be remorseful and tearful. because this is -- he's never dealt with this kind of scrutiny and this type of, really, public backlash so i do expect tiger to be very contrite, very humble. remember he's always shown a sense of arrogance on the golf course. but remember he's had three months to prepare for this. i think some spontaneity but not open himself up to the gravity of allowing questions from media. >> yeah, get a call in. stanley's with us, north carolina. stanley, comment or question here, your thoughts? >> caller: yeah, hi, mike. >> hey. >> caller: i would love to see tiger stand up there and do the right thing. just stand there and say, "i'm sorry." sorry that everyone seems to be such sycophantic turn coats who think they have the right to stick their noses in their personal life. >> so are you upset that people vey thirst for knowledge, stanley? is sounds like you are more angry that people are asking questions than at tiger himself? >> caller: well, he made a vow with his wife, which he broke. that's between them. yet the media is just having a field day that he's become this fallen hero of disgrace. >> well, he has. he's let a lot of people down. now, i hear you, first and foremost, he has to apologize to his wife, his family, those closest to him, but there are hoards of fans. i couldn't even put a number on it, who obviously are let down and built an million-dollar empire. so he owes more than his wife an apology. i'm sure we'll hear that on friday. continue our conversation, take your calls, 1-877-tell-hln. what do you want to hear on friday? welcome back to "prime news" on hln. continuing our conversation, tiger woods, will speak for the first time. he will, basically, give us a statement friday morning. now, it's not a press conference. he will not take any questions. it's going to happen. we'll be covering it live right here 11:00 a.m. eastern on hln. small group of friends, colleagues, a few reporter's going to be there. it's going to be a live pool camera. it's going to be quote/unquote a talk. what should he say? we're taking your calls on it, 1-877-tell-hln. kevin's with us from virginia. hey, kevin, your thoughts? >> caller: hey, good evening, mike. my comment is about the tiger woods' situation. >> yeah. >> caller: and, he is a private person in a public forum. >> right. >> caller: and that doesn't make it right, but it doesn't make it none of my business. and i think if he can come to some kind of a resolution with himself, his family and his god, he doesn't owe me any kind of an explanation. you know, i don't have to buy his sports wear or drive his buicks or whatever he sells. >> right. >> caller: it's different if he was a politician where my tax dollars were paying him. >> okay, kevin, thanks so much. jane, let's get you in on the conversation. there is that. here's a facebook comment from deby "i don't want to hear from him at all. his issues do not affect me in the slightest." yes, there is the private side and i wish the best for him and elin and the two little ones. but he let a lot of people down. i do think he needs to apologize. again, he built a billion-dollar empire on his image. >> he needs to apologize, and this whole idea that you can take the best aspects of fame and least worst aspects behind, fame comes with a price, and that price is scrutiny. we all know that. and so if you want the many, many tens of millions of dollars and you want the adulation and you want the power and you want all of the endorsement deals and the prestige, you're going to have to take the scrutiny with it. that's the way it works. that gentleman on the phone, may believe it's none of our business, but our business is what we think is our business, to a certain degree. >> yeah. >> and, obviously, the public has decided that this is their business. >> yeah. >> because they are interested in it. >> very. >> so i don't buy it. >> all right, ryan get you in on this one. him speaking now, signals, he's going to play golf and golf very soon. is now the time, number one? and how do you think that fans are going to receive him, number two. >> well, i think that the fans are going to receive him now. i think now is a fine time. he'll get the tune ups in march. play the masters in april. i could see him doing that but it only work for him, if he is contrite and he really says something. i think, jane touched on it and so did the caller. he is a private person in a public forum. so people are buying the cars and is doing all of those things. he's not going to have that level of support if he doesn't really come out and say something. so that's what's going to be really critical for him. >> okay, marvette, when we talk about tiger coming back to the game. one thing, i hope he touches on and if he announces, i believe he will. i think that most eye don't have any independent reporting on this, i believe that he'll announce that he's going to come back and win. i would like to hear elin that she's on board on that. that we're together on this and come back and play golf. >> i think that we should see a united front and we should see elin stand with her husband when he emerges. i'm not sure that we will. again, they've always guarded their privacy. i think that you'll see tiger emerge and really speak humbly of how he plans to recalibrate his career and really focus on playing golf. i mean he has a brand, a very lucrative brand that has been tainted. severely over the past three months. so i'm sure that in addition to the restoration of his career, he wants to really restore the public's faith in him so that he can move order. >> can i say something? >> go ahead, jane. >> i don't really feel that elin should be there by tiger's side. he cheated on her with, allegedly, something like 12 to 14 women. and i think that we have to, as women, question this whole notion of being these dutiful robot wives who stand up there beside our men who were just cheating and just smile while they act contrite. it stopped working for politicians and i don't think that it will necessarily work in this case. jenny sanford became a heroine of sorts of not doing that when her appalachian trail-hiking governor husband was caught with his pants down. i don't necessarily think that she should be there. >> ryan, i know that you want in. i don't think that she will be there. but i'd like -- i agree with marvet, on the united front, and if she has that big of a forgiving heart and they can work it out, great. >> yeah, if she forgives him, she should be there to show that united front and at same time it starts a rebuilding phase for him. it shows if he decides to come back and play tournaments, if shows i've change mide life. and does something positive, it shows a united front, maybe he's contrite and moving forward. i think that's where it helps. >> it would interesting. it sounds eye think it is too soon for her standing next to him. he just got out of rehab for sexual addiction. >> what is he going to do? stuff all of her anger, her resentment? i think that it is too soon. i agree you, mike. >> yeah, we'll continue this conversation and it's been a good one. 1-877-tell-hln's the phone number. join us on facebook as well. what do you think? it's getting good. dive in. welcome back to "prime news" on hln. we've been talking about tiger woods. he's going to speak for the first time since the scandal broke. friday morning 11:00 a.m. not a press conference. it's being called a talk. we'll have it live here on hln. 11:00 a.m. now brand-new into us, a new photo of tiger woods. as we speculate, when's he going to play golf? here he is jogging in florida with a friend. so there's tiger on the right. getting ready for what we believe is his eminent return to the game. there you go, getting ready, getting in shape. taking your calls on this, 1-877-tell-hln. what do you expect to hear friday? is it too soon for him to return to the game? throw this out there, now that we get everybody's take on it. i think one thing he should into and maybe speak of it or not on friday is get rid of or cut ties with anybody who set up and was an enabler for these relationships. friends, agent, anybody i don't have names, but if he could come clean as a show of support for his wife to say, elin, these guys were there, i want them out. you're number one. jane, your thoughts on that? >> well, this photo is fascinating because i can't see it, but we've been told by the producers that he's not wearing his wedding ring and that's interesting because elin has also been spotted out and about not wearing her wedding ring. so this whole idea that they've reconciled which we've heard in publish reports that they're trying to work it out, who knows if that is really true. we really don't have a whole lot of information. hopefully, he'll be real with us and say some of this stuff on friday, because you know the vacuum of information is what creates all of the speculation. as for the friends, i think the reason i mentioned that first is that it really depends on whether or not he's going to stay with his wife. >> yeah. >> i mean, maybe he shouldn't be with his wife. maybe the reason why all of this happened is that he made a mistake and married somebody that he's not truly in love with, and maybe if he were true to his heart, he would move on and she would be able to move on. maybe just staying together for whatever, sake of the kids, maybe it would be better for the children, too, if they're not meant to be together to separate. >> well, i'm sure they're working that out and you mentioned that point. i'm looking at the photo here, yeah, no wedding band. marvet, let's hit on this on a couple of fronts. what about my thought? cut ties with all of the people that were around you, that knew of these alleged dalliances? wouldn't that be a good start. >> i agree. you really always have to surround yourself, particularly when you are a celebrity or a high-profile figure with individuals who have as much to lose as you do. so for tiger to really emerge from this transgression and show, not only the public, but his wife that he's on a different path. >> not have a in taking a different road. he has to really change everything around him. that's going to send the strongest message. >> yeah. >> we can't see him emerge, doing the same thing he did before this issue erupted. >> yep. >> so if we see him hanging with the same friends and going out to the same places, we won't think that tiger is really sincere about making a change in his life. >> well put. keyword there, ryan, different path. how about surrounding yourself with a family man? trying to work yourself without an elin. how about a tony dungy or someone like that who is a known family man who will help you get on the right track. >> i think that it is always helpful and always chemistry in these relationships. and tiger, it's been heard that a lot of athletes have tried to reach out and counsel him on this and maybe pushing them away a little bit. i think that you are right. you have to surround yourself with people who provide a support environment and also who are the right role models. so if it not tony dungy, maybe get back to some the family members or people that you've been surrounding yourself with over the years and kind of go into that direction. >> maybe people who are family men and let them keep you -- hold you accountable. get a call in. loretta's with us from new york. loweret ayour thoughts? >> caller: good evening, mike. >> hello. >> caller: love the show. >> thanks. >> caller: i'm a single parent from new york. i've gone through a divorce, found my husband cheating on me, and i think that he owes her a public apology as well as all of his fans. there are so many children that look up to him and his sponsors as well. i think what he's done is one of the worst things that you could do to another person. >> yeah. i mean you mentioned it, and thank you for sharing. we feel for you and what you went through. and trying again, imagine what elin nordegren has gone through. this is really a global humiliation that she's gone through. will they be able to work up on the the marriage? we're hearing reports that she's called off talks with a divorce attorney. so she's going to have to have a forgiving heart. we'll see if they can work it out. guys, great conversation, jane, marvet, ryan, thanks so much. coming up, we're digging deep or amy bishop accused in that terrible tragedy, the university of alabama-vuntsville. talking about anger issues. we're headquarter reports she went off on another mom at an ihop over a child booster seat! story's heartbreak, a 23-year-old woman, salinasalina california. a newlywed, well, she disappears without a trace. ryan crowe, last seen by her husband nearly three weeks ago and plast night police arrested him and dealing with a homicide. no body's been found but police are moving forward with the murder charges against jesse john crowe. not only that but were at his home earlier this month and found 300 marijuana plants. sophisticated a pot-growing operation. what does that have to do with anything? call in, 1-877-tell-hln. joining us to talk about it reporter from the "saneanas californian." and also back with us hln law enforcement analyst, mike brooks. tell us about jesse and his actions after his wife goes missing. what do we know? >> well, we know that ryan's family and friends conducted several -- two searches. i believe he was not involved with any of that and he pretty much stayed away from the madia. we tried talking to him and he dekplooind he was advised by his lawyer not to. he was advised by his lawyer not to. when we spoke to the family they said they had not stayed in contact with him and vice versa. >> mike brooks, we don't want to jump to conclugsz collusions but that's an automatic red flag when a husband is not involved in searches for his wife. >> exactly. they live in prunedale, a suburb of salinas. they found her car about 90 miles north of there. you know, i find it interesting, too, mike, he was arrested on tuesday evening about 9:00 p.m. local in pacific grove, california, by the salinas police, which says to me that they were following this guy, waiting for certain things to come back. now, they have conducted some search warrants. those are all sealed. they are not saying what they found. they did search his car and also searched apparently his parents' house, not saying what they found there but they apparently had enough to go ahead and take him down in his vehicle and when they did, there was another woman in the vehicle with him. >> okay. back to kimber. she's last seen, what, january 30th, is that right? >> yes. then she was reported missing by her family members on february 1st when she -- she failed to show up to work for about two days. >> who reported her missing, her husband or family? >> her family. family. >> family. what's he done since, has he cooperated at all with authorities? >> according to police, he has been cooperating, he's been in contact with them daily. at some point, when i spoke to police this morning that, you know, they said all along it's been a missing persons case and they didn't have a suspect or know where she was but police said that at some point during the investigation the detectives received some leads and some evidence to switch this over to a homicide case and named him a suspect. >> okay. what about the arrest for the 300 pot plants, kimber, did that take place the same day she was reported missing? is that the time line here? >> i believe so, yes. >> mike, how does that figure into all of this? like another sidebar that we're dealing with. >> i yeah, another federal charge here, you know? >> yeah. >> he must had been mr. hydroponics himself. but law enforcement now believes she's diseased and he is responsible so now the main thing is where is she? that's what they need to find. >> kimber, one more, as far as the relationship between ryan and his wife, when did they meet? how long have they known each other? do we have any of those details? >> you know, we don't have those details. >> okay. >> we just know that we were newlyweds and that's pretty much it. >> okay. mike, there was a report it was pretty much a whirlwind romance it sounds, met in july, married in august, how does that factor in? >> you know, it's, how well did she know this guy? how well did her family know this guy? and the whole thing is, he wasn't anywhere when they were doing searches for her, wasn't out there helping the search, leading searchers like a newlywed husband should have been. i know it's all circumstantial and i'm sure that law enforcement, they have had to have enough, probable cause, to, go ahead and arrest him in his car and take him down there. >> i'll ask you both this, kimber, anybody talking motive at all? >> no, no -- the police decline to release much information really. i think we are going to learn more about this case tomorrow. the salinas police department is supposed to conduct a press conference tomorrow, the day -- i mean, the time and where that will be is still unknown, though. >> mike? >> wait until the interviews before they give out details at all. that's good police work. >> guys, thanks so much. kimber, appreciate it. mike, you as well. this story has got me sick, it's got me shaking my head. there you can see the verbiage. license has been suspended but hey ithought that was a felony. shouldn't there be some charges here? and we know this the woman who was being treated ended up having a mental breakdown. this is outrageous. a psychologist in florida kszed of not only having sex with a former patient but then billing blue cross for their quote/unquote sessions. here's melanie brooks from "prime news" affiliate wtsb. >> reporter: the details of this case paint a salacious picture. documents show that south tampa psychologist dr. daniel ler om was having sex with his patient for months in early 2009 and hen billed her blue cross blue shield insurance for their session. text messages between the doctor and patient outline a hot and heavy romance. the 49-year-old psychologist told his patient "my body felt great all over after last night. i wish you were here in the shower with me to warm me up. if i were there i would rub you and kiss you all over." the doctor even referred to himself as her "red hot lover or rhl" for short. the two had oral sex and intercourse in hotel room, his office and the patient's home in lakeland. and she even gave him a key. >> it's a felony. it's against the hippocratic oath. it's something that you just don't do. >> reporter: ken kramer is a researcher for the citizens commission on human rights. a group that investigates psychiatric abuse. he wants to know why this case hasn't gone to police? in this e-mail the commission is asking the question directly to the department of health, did they turn over the information to authorities about dr. lerom and the allegations that he that he was having sex with the patient? and the answer we found out is, no. >> that this is not okay to do. it's psychiatric rape. it's psychological rape. it's not okay. it's not -- it is against the law. these guys can go to jail for this type of thing. >> reporter: dr. larom is now being sued by his former lover whose identity had not been revealed. after she broke off her engagement records show she began having an affair with dr. lerom but whether the doctor's wife found out he broke it off. shortly after the woman was institutionalized after her mental collapse. >> all right, our thanks to melanie brooks, "prime news" affiliate wtsp for that report. we'll take your calls 1-877-tell-hln. we have tried to reach out to dr. -- to the doctor, and have left messages at his office and home and have not heard back from him. now we want to stress, no charges have been filed. all right, let's get our experts in on this. welcome back to cnn legal analyst, lisa bloom. also with psychologist cooper lawrence. joining us as well psychotherapist maryjo repini. how serious does the mental health community take that oath where you don't have a sexual wrap patient or a former patient? >> take is very seriously, in fact it's the most important oaths of all. these patients come to us, they build a relationship with us. it's extremely important that they understand that we are completely trustworthy and we are very good at keeping our boundaries and encouraging them in their lives in their issues. and i cannot believe somebody would do something like this. >> yeah. >> it's despicable. >> cooper, let me get you in on. in just the vulnerability there, that a patient has in a case like this. >> yeah, i mean that's the whole thing. it's a position of power, this therapist is in. he took advantage of a very vulnerable patient. and what really erks me this does damage to people who are afraid to go to therapy. it makes people say oh look at these therapists, they have no morales and it makes us seem like we're not people that would hold ourselves up to a higher standard but like the doctor was saying, we do have these standards. and it's called multiple relationships and it's called do no harm and that's our ethics code and the rest of us follow it. >> yeah i can feel the passion from you guys on this one and to go along with that one, a facebook comment. tamara writing i think it is wrong, wrong, wrong, it makes therapist get a bad name for ourselves. maybe tamara is a therapist as well. let's bring lisa in on this. the way that i understand it and the expert there in the package, mr. kramer talked about it. it's a felony. psychotherapist committed sexual misconduct with a client or a former client when the professional relationships ends, primarily for the purpose of having sex. and consent is not a defense. >> that's right. >> do we expect criminal charges, lisa, on this. >> i would be very surprised if criminal charges are not filed pcht police may be looking at it, as, look, these are two consenting adults. but this is san extremely important case because look at the fallout to this woman's psyche. she had a breakdown. she had to be institutionalized after this was over. this was a married psychotherapist who was much older than her, who had treated her many years and perhaps he was being cute by saying okay our therapeutic relationship has ended. now tonight we can start dating and having a romantic relationship which essentially how this went down. the law sees around this and says you can't do that. the relationship is much more important than that. there's much more depth to it than that and you can't just end the relationship to have sex with somebody. by the way this complaint that you're looking at on the screen right now also says that he was asking her repeatedly for medications that were prescribed to her. >> yeah. >> medications, like vicodin. and he also allegedly committed insurance fraud. so he's got a lot legal problems. >> yeah, you throw it like a soup. like his evil soup that you're concocting there, and you are right, lisa, when you talk about a history, they go back to 1995. but where the line is crossed, for sure, it's, what, february. and he's quote said as saying "if i -- if i were available i would date you. cooper lawrence, there it is, right? there's the full violation, right? >> right. it's a huge violation. the fact that he knew when patient was vulnerable and the fact that took advantage, this is a total abuse of power. and let's not forget, you and i are sitting here talking about celebrities and their narcissism, this is the biggest narcissist. the fact that he knew he was doing wrong, and the fact that well, the rules don't apply to me and get me these drugs and do this for me. this to me wreaks of narcissism. >> mary jo, when you hear this case, as someone in the mental health community, you talked about it, boundaries, walls have to be built, right? so you don't come anywhere near this. >> absolutely. this is just so incredible. the fact that this guy is not in jail right now is so perplexing. he -- he's a drug addict. he's a narcissist. he's got terrible -- he's got his own issues. someone like this should have never been counseling another person who is so vulnerable. it comes back to this. i'm a psychotherapist. when i took my vows to do this, its psycho comes from the root word of the soul, and therapy is, care of. we're supposed to take care of people's soul. this guy took care of nobody's soul. he was very selfish. and acted -- acted out terribly. and he should not be doing what he's doing. >> yeah. again, allegedly. it sounds like took care of himself, and as lisa mentioned, we'll talk a little bit more about it after the break, not only does this relationship, allegedly, take place. but then he's billing the insurance company for some their quote/unquote sessions to the tune of $1,400. and then when this lady needs therapy the insurance's run out. it's unbelievable. it just gets worse as we keep delving in. we'll take your calls on it 1-877-tell-hln. it's a felony. you know, it's against the hippocratic oath. it's something you just don't do. this is not okay to do. it's psychiatric rape. it's psychological rape. it's not okay. it's against the law. and these guys could go to jail for this type of thing. >> there again, very strong fwrords ken kramer who follows this type of thing as we're looking at a doctor facing some allegations of having inappropriate sexual relationship with a patient/former patient. and at the end of the day, she ends up having a mental breakdown. we're taking your calls on this one, 1-877-tell-hln. dotti's with us from texas. your question or comment, dotti? one more time, dotti in texas, are you with us? we'll try to get the phones cranked up again. i believe that dotti wanted to talk to the insurance. lisa, you and i had touched on on that. so he's billing the insurance company to the tune of $1,400. how much trouble could he be in for that. >> yeah, that's gall, isn't it. >> yeah. >> not only having sex with a patient and then trying to get paid for it it's almost like maxive prostitution in some kind of a way. is clearly a crime. this might be a relatively low-level crime, a misdemeanor, because it's only $1,400 but doesn't mean he's not looking at some jail time for it, more seriously would be the felony charge of having sex with her. she cannot consent and even though she's an adult because she the therapeutic relationship with him. >> yeah, and here's how it ended. oi want to read the text and it's a short one, this is from the doctor to this lady that he was the alleged affair with. "my wife just read this message, they have to stop for a long time until i say it's okay. this is serious. dan." okay, and we know this lady ended up with a mental breakdown. mary jo repini's with us. mary jo, what happens potential on to this patient here, this one-time patient here that relationship begins to end. >> what i'm most concerned with is, number one, she went to him in the beginning at the age of 23. >> right. >> and for marital problems, ended up divorcing from that marriage, continued with him. and then finally broke it off, or he broke it off for a couple of years. it sound like she was just coming out on her own again. she had a boyfriend. and then he intervenes again for more of her drugs. and i think what may have ended up happening is because -- when she would start feeling better, maybe getting stronger, just him being there is so abusive that she wasn't able to ever get over it, and most likely, she just had a -- had a break. she doesn't know who to trust. she doesn't trust herself. every boundary she knows of has been blurred now. meaning her main caretaker is -- or health care taker is now trying -- not trying, is having sex with her, and using her medications. and there's no semblance of sanity or normality in her life anymore. >> yeah. exactly. and cooper, again, we tried to reach out to the doctors, attorneys, didn't get any comment back. cooper, it's manipulation on so many fronts, the relationship, insurance money, prescription drugs. it knows no end. >> right. it knows no end, because that's what narcissists do. they take advantage of people, they have no empathy for other people. they take as much as they can until somebody says stop. and usual you're not going to have a vulnerable patient who has relationship issues, and obviously drug issues saying stop. and this is the cautionary tale that, you know, if you feel like something might be wrong, in a situation between you and somebody that you're supposed to trust, trust your instinct first. first start talking to people and ask and say, this is what my therapist asked me. does this sound bizarre to you? start having that conversation. break that third wall for yourself. >> yeah, good advice there. >> michael, what cooper said is so important, because from there is not a lot. when you go to a psych or therapist or doctor, you assume they're your advocate, they know more. you're listening to what they tell you. >> got to run. more coming up.
