Also looking around right now at mobile, alabama. The track of sally is hard to gauge. The other part that is making it very difficult, the forecast, its so slow moving at 2 miles an hour. That can do a lot of damage especially since sally is packing a lot of rain. Back to the flooding issue that is front and center as are we with the latest from Jonathan Hunt right now in biloxi, mississippi. Jonathan . Neil, its a very wet day on the beach here in biloxi, mississippi. As you look out at the famous light house pier behind me, Hurricane Sally is out there, but my word, shes taking her time. 2 miles an hour is what shes moving at. Thats about the speed im walking at right now. Neil, you might be interested to know a sea turtle moves, bun when she comes, shes bringing with her so much rain. Its raining pretty heavily now. Its going to keep doing this and get more and more heavy over the next 24 hours. And theyre talking about historic flooding when you combine that amount of rain with the storm surge were going to get. Here in biloxi and right along the gulf coast of mississippi, into alabama, the Florida Panhandle, they know too well what historic flooding can mean. You remember, neil in 2005, hurricane katrina. We talk so much about new orleans with good reason. But this entire section of the mississippi coastline got slammed, too. Billions of dollars in damage. Hundreds of lives lost. As you look in the distance there, that is the famous casino. That was flooded. Three floors up during katrina. Its been shut down completely right now because of the fears of some sort of repeat of that and similar levels of flooding, neil. So while there arent any mandatory evacuations here in mississippi, there are in other here in biloxi, mississippi, there are in other areas of the state and into alabama where the governor is warning any one not to take this lightly. Listen here. Hurricane sally is not to be taken for granted. Were looking at record flooding, perhaps breaking historic levels. With rising water comes a greater risk for loss of property and life. And that is the great concern. Any loss of property and much more. So any loss of life, neil. They are saying this will be a life threatening storm surge. This rain is likely to sit over this area and on the eastward to alabama and to the Florida Panhandle for at least 24 hours. This storm moving so slowly, thats what makes it so dangerous. This is not a wind event, neil. Its all about the rain and the storm surge. Neil . Neil jonathan, we should be hearing from the president as he leaves from the white house on his way to philadelphia. Hes in contact with the states governors in the region but theyve not called for evacuations yet in mississippi, right . In biloxi, mississippi, theres no mandatory evacuations. The governor of mississippi has said there are some mandatory evacuations in other lowlying parts but not here in particular. But then you go to alabama, theyre very concerned, neil. Theres mandatory evacuations in place there. Neil all right. Thank you, jonathan for clarifying that. The president of the United States on his way to philadelphia talking to reporters moments ago. Our country is doing unbelievably well. The numbers are good. And youll see some very good numbers i think released prior to november 3 for the third quarter. I think its going to be theyll be fantastic numbers. Do you have any questions . [question inaudible] so with the suburban voter, were taking care of them. Safety. Its about safety, law and order. Its also about getting regulations where housing is forced into a suburban neighborhood and, you know, thats the american dream. By the way, minorities want that. Everybody wants that. They want the american dream. Because when you think of suburbia, its about 30 , close to 30 minority. Some people say more than that. They want their american dream. They dont want it be obliterated. So we ended the all rule, the regulation. If biden gets in, he would put it back but double it up. They say that cory booker would be in charge. Hes pushing it. Were not going to do that, destroy suburbia. And basically, i think we have a very strong, very powerful law and order campaign. We are endorsed by almost every major police group. Believe it or not, its not easy for them to do. The Chicago Police just endorsed us. You heard that. New york city, new yorks finest endorsed us. We have ohio, we have florida, we have i mean, we have everybody. We just want safe streets. We dont want a portland. We dont want to have what happened in seattle that we took care of by saying were going in and they gave up. We dont want to have that. We want to have safety. We dont want chicago where people get shot and people get killed. We dont want to have that. Those are all democratrun cities. We dont want that. [question inaudible] yesterday you said in california that you dont think the science knows when it comes to climate change. Im a big believer in forest management. The professor is a big believer in what i said. He said sir, you happen to be right. When you let the floors of the forest build up with leaves and broken timber that is dry as a bone, youre causing forest fires. Youre causing them. Thats the problem. I believe in a lot of things but i believe in forest management. Plus, you have to have some breaks. If you dont have breaks in between so that when you do have areas, youre not going to lose 250,000 acres every time of beautiful forest. So and i think frankly the governor, i get along with him well. I think he agrees with me. Please. You think Global Warming is a hoax . I think you have people that dont want to address china, they dont want to address russia, they dont want to address india, they dont want to address these countries that have not done much for Global Warming, for the carbon footprint. You have a lot of countries that were supposed to do it and we do do it. By the way, our carbon numbers right now are very low. Theyre really low. Our water, our air, i want it to be clean and immaculate, crystal, absolutely clean. Thats what were doing. But we at the same time dont want to drive our businesses out because they cant compete. If you look at china, with all of the plants that they have, you take just take a look at china. Look at what is coming out of china. Take a look at our oceans and see who is dumping in our oceans . Its not us. Thats what people should be addressing. [question inaudible] what are they going to do . [question inaudible] well, well have to do something about the wto. They let china get away with murder. They consider china to be a developing nation. By as a developing nation, as that did this just happen, steve . Just happened . Well take a look at that. Im not a big fan of the wto. I can tell you that. Maybe they did us a big favor. What do you think of the oracle deal . Were going to make a decision soon. I have a high respect for Larry Ellison. Hes somebody that i know. Hes been really a terrific guy for a long time. So were going to take a look. I heard theyre close to a deal. Well be looking at the tik tok deal with Larry Ellison and oracle. [question inaudible] were very different. You can see that with the deal we made today. Im not a big fan of general mattis, as you know. Hes a overrated general. Regardless, hes a nice guy. He didnt do the job for me. He didnt do the isis job. After we got rid of him, it worked out well. We took over 100 of the caliphate. I do things differently. If you listen to the three World Leaders today and these are highly respected leaders and countries, uae is a tremendously respected warrior. Theyre warriors. Theyre very strong respected country. If you listen to what they said, nobody thought of the plan that i thought of. Its going around the back door. I call it going around the smart door and coming in a different way. We have many other countries that will join us and join us soon. Well have i mean, i think seven or eight or nine well have a lot of countries joining us including big one. We already have the big one. Including the big one. And this is not something that the people that you mentioned would be able to be doing. Its not something that my critics thought was possible and now they say, wow, that was a good idea. Ill say its gotten rave reviews from the New York Times and a lot of people that dont like donald trump too much. They have given it rave reviews. This is one deal. We have many others like this. Our country has been stagnant for many years. We did nothing but give our money away and wealth away and jobs away. We stopped that 3 1 2 years ago. [question inaudible] i spoke with the king of saudi arabia. At the right time, things will come in. Yes, i do. This is a very big and very historic moment. I think everyone agrees to that. Well have other countries coming in fairly rapidly. [question inaudible] so i think this. I think you have a governor of nevada who wouldnt let us use outside venues. The night before, we had a massive crowd and it was an outside venue. We had other outside venues the next day in las vegas. The governor made it impossible for the people to do it. Our people. The people that do it. They forced us into an indoor rally. We didnt want it indoor. We did an indoor rally. They spaced as much as they could. The governor could have solved the problem. All he had to do is let us use an outdoor venue. Plus, they had 25,000 people outside of the venue that couldnt get in. Its very interesting when they have protests, that is okay. When they have violence, anarchists and agitators, its okay. The governor of nevada should not be in charge of ballots. The ballots will be a disaster for our country and the governor of nevada should not be in charge of ballots. When he wont let us meet and congregate and do really a friendly protest, he should not be in charge of the ballots. Youll have problems with the ballots like anybody has ever seen before. Neil all right. President wrapping up enroute to philadelphia, the battleground there. For 20 electoral votes is on. The president won the state four years ago. Polls are tightening in the keystone state. The president referring to that Peace Agreement today where the United Arab Emirates and bahrain hope to do business with israel. But business relations or normal relations between them has cause that other countries could follow suit. The president intimated that in a white house ceremony that had a camp david feel for it. Of course, you see a come of spots where you jump closer to 60 or 70 miles an hour. That is at closer to the center of the storm. Now, ultimately probably making a landfall sometime tomorrow mid morning as a category one. Strong cat 1 hurricane. Weak category two. And then it begins a very slow march across the southeast. The story will be all the rain it brings with it. You talk about 2 miles an hour, that is a lot of time for a shower or a thunderstorm to just sit overtop of you. All of that rain falling will pile up. This is the motion. Again, this is just tomorrow morning. Not a lot of movement between now and then. A lot of time for the rain to build up. No surprise here. Really impressive numbers. You get down into the white colors, widespread anywhere from 10 to 20 inches. Isolated areas with 30 inches of rain and taking 10 inches of rain or so all the way to atlanta, across the carolinas. This will be a large rain event for a lot of people. No surprise. We see the watches and the warnings for flooding. Again, i really think the rain isnt too bad right now. Its going to deteriorate tonight and tomorrow it will be a long day for a lot of folks. Back to you. Neil put it mildly, thank you. Adam klotz following that. I want to go to nick eiser in biloxi. Thanks for taking the time. What are you bracing for right now . What is the latest to go on . Thank you for having me. So right now we are like we have been hammering home that were bracing for potential flash floods, a ton of rain the next 24 hours. Were a peninsula city, so we have got a bay, weve got the gulf and two rivers to contend with. So we focus on our lowlying areas right now. Neil nick, i guess in biloxi, theres no mandatory evacuations. The governor is recommended and other areas to do just that. But people are leery when it comes to evacuations, arent they . Maybe its covid19, maybe its the thought of a crowded shelter. If it ever came time to do that in biloxi, you think people would liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. And now your copilot. For biden, first trip as the democratic nominee in a state where the polls are close. But thats the case in a lot of those battleground states, isnt it . Steve harrigan joins us from tampa. Hey, steve. Neil, youre right. Former Vice President joe bidens first trip to florida. He touched down in tampa a few hours ago. Hes trying to shore up hispanic voters and military veterans. Heres the former Vice President. Quite frankly, i wont say quite frankly makes me very upset the way he gets in front of a camera and crows about how much hes done for veterans and insults our Service Members and fallen heros when the camera is off. Calls them suckers and losers. President trump has had surprising support among hispanic voters here in floor. Even with biden in some recent polls among the voters. The republican strategy has been pretty direct and blunt to target biden as a socialist in a state where many people have fled socialist dictators. Heres President Trump. We dont want to have a socialist country, we some of you came from parts of the worldwhere its socialist or worse. Its called the c word. I think in many cases these people are talking beyond socialism. Were not going to let that happen. Biden is on route to kissimmee, florida. They have a large puerto rican population. Biden is announcing a Recovery Plan for the island, which will include major spending on infrastructure, healthcare and schools. Neil, back to you. Neil thank you, steve. Steve in tampa, florida. Lets go to liza collins from the wall street journal. Liza, florida is one of those that is a big battleground, very representative of the country. Polls are tight. The former Vice President a light campaigner there but hes been moving out of his home in delaware a lot more now. How do you read this . Well, it shows that the Biden Campaign is taking florida seriously and they absolutely should. Polling shows recently that biden is weaker than Hillary Clinton was with latino voters in florida and across the country. Particularly in florida where latino voters make up 1 5 of the population. In a state where we heard the president talking about this, a lot of floridians come from columbia and venezuela. So the president is showing signs of strength in florida. For biden, he needs to get out there and talk to the voters to have a chance. Neil he has a big friend, a big well, Michael Bloomberg that is willing to spend 100 million of his own money to seal the deal for joe biden there. That can buy a lot of ads, cant it . It absolutely can. A friend and former rival. But 100 million is a ton of money especially coming in at the end. Florida is one of the most expensive states that miami media market in particular costs a lot of money to get ads there. But 100 million is a lot of money and coming in in the final couple months when voters have started to pay attention, when polls are tight. That really could make a difference. Neil well follow closely. Thanks, elijah. Thanks for helping us out. Lets get the read on the 100 million that shes talking about. Thats a lot of money. Whether you think it will do or close the deal in florida, it does allow the campaign to jute lies these other resources in other states. Lets get the read on that from Charl Charlie gasparino. Nicole is here also. Nicole, its a big favor joe biden is getting from Michael Bloomberg. I thought in the back of my mind, how does he utilize that . Well, i dont think its a favor. I think its Michael Bloomberg putting his money behind where his values are. His values are to elect joe biden as president. I dont think republicans are short on donors spending big money. Its not 100 million against nothing in florida. They have plenty of megadonors that will spend hundreds of millions in the state as well. Neil charlie gasparino, its a lot of money. Its couch cushion change for Michael Bloomberg. I began wondering, is that for a position in the white house. Treasury secretary or im being jaded but youre totally cynical. Youve been covering this way the too long. Of course it is. We have reported, my producer has done some good reporting on this, bloomberg has been feeling shutout of the Biden Campaign, that he hasnt had any say in it. This money will help bring him some say. My guess is that he does want some say or a role in the biden administration. Hes not alone. Theres a lot of wall street types like mike bloomberg. Remember, he started as a wall street trader, build an amazing company. Hes worth 50 billion. Ill say this, though if youre comparing republican megadonors to mike bloomberg, can you imagine if the coke enterprise set up 100 million to buy a state for donald trump . Could you imagine what type of front page outrage would be out there . Lets not make any bones about this. This is a ton of money, this isnt like some guy donating a few bucks here and there and raising it and bundling cash. Hes throwing 100 million into a race in a key state. It could really tip the election bidens way. When you talk about hispanic voters and one problem that biden has with hispanic voters is this. The hispanic voters particularly Puerto Ricans that have come to florida, if you know anything about the states demographics, theyre more conservative than you would think. They left a poverty stricken island, the middle class that left the island. You know, trump does have some builtin advantages addressing that. Neil he is polling one out of three of them. Might have confused some speakers, the new jersey governor there. The only reason we did the backdrop of that, all of this comes at a time where the biden proposal to hike taxes on the rich has come in center focus here. Its an issue to raise with you, francis. Governor murphy is among those democratic governors that have been proposing sur taxes on the rich like joe biden is doing across the country or at least to have them go back up to 39. 6 . The truth and matter is, its going beyond just that. Im wondering now how republicans are countering that. If it looks like they are hey, were for the rich and theyre getting hosed here, that might fall on deaf ears. How do they strategize that in a state like florida, for example . Its focus on the recovery. Were not out of the weeds yet. The fed came out with a statistic that a third of firms were companies in the u. S. Is at risk for insolvency. We know the pandemic has brought to life the wealth gap. So i think the republican narrative needs to stay on the fact that we can handle the wealth gap but we dont want to overtax the people were expecting to participate meaningfully in the recovery. The democratic narrative is the only way to handle the wealth gap is to tax the rich and give it to the poor. So the republicans need to come back out with an education and awareness about supply side economics, which is their montra and how important it is to support the Recovery First and foremost and how these tax hikes are going to undermine really not just the rich, the middle class, corporations, et cetera in the midst of trying to recover from the pandemic. Neil nicole, timing might be everything if joe biden got in there. Could be the argument that it wouldnt be a Good Environment to raise taxes on anyone. Were not there yet. But do you fear that because hes laid it out there and he hasnt denied it, he wants to looking 4 trillion in taxes over the next ten years. A lot of that born by the welltodo and corp rates that will see their rate go from 21 to 28 but this could finker that someone much like some of these governors in the states where theyre hardpressed to come up with cash also targeting the rich that this looks like the a t thing all over again. Attacks that were meant to ensnare those millionaires and billionaires like charlie that dodge taxes and now a third of them are paying it. Does that risk biting him . Not charlie but the tax thing. Look, i think joe biden has been very clear about his tax plan. He wants to he thinks the wealthy are to pay their fair share. That is a key part of the recovery. Neil what is their fair share . What is that . I heard the fair share was when it got up to 37 , then 39 . The sur taxes that brought it close to 50 . Its a moving target. What is it . It is a moving target. The bigger part is the corporations paying their fair share. Corporations not getting the huge tax breaks that are leaving their workers behind. The key actually the plan is to make sure that more people can join a union, a big part of where with all due respect they dont have healthcare and wage recoveries because theyre not belonging to unions neil charlie . Listen, im no trump diehard person, but lets be clear here. Before the pandemic hit, the comply was doing pretty damn good. Working class wages were rising. We went through eight years of the obama recovery where you had the gap grow even greater between the rich and poor. For all of his rhetorical success, his economic policies work and thats the problem that joe biden right now is having with hispanic voters that are oddly middle and working class. They were doing better. The question is, does it under trump, the question is do they want to take a chance. A lot of them dont want to. The reason why he flashed bill murphy, hes raising taxes. Raising so many taxes. The New York Stock Exchange wants to move their servers out of new jersey maybe back to florida. People are leaving democratic states. You just dont have higher taxes from joe biden. You have potentially higher taxes from every blue state. Cuomo, in new york, phil murphy in new jersey, lamont in connecticut, go down the line. Thats why those states are losing populations to red states. That is the problem that bill well see how it sorts out. Still early on. It is a popular election theme and even for democrats pounding it, its not hurt them in the poll numbers. Well watch it closely. Thanks very much. In the meantime here, apple had an announcement. The president will be doing some stumping there today after signing a landmark Peace Agreement, if you will, or at least a deal to recognize each others right to exist and do business with. Israel and the United Arab Emirates and bahrain. John roberts has more. This is a big deal. The first time in 26 years that israel has normalized relations with one of its arab neighbors. The genesis goes back to may 2017 when the president spoke to the leaders of 54 arab countries and said you have a choice here. You can get stock in the old paradigm of the past where animosity of israel or you can chart a path for a new future. Today the United Arab Emirates and israel signed a new deal. Heres what the president said. Somebody thought this was not possible, certainly not in this day and age. The blessings of the peace we make today will be enormous. First, because this peace will eventually expand to include other arab states and ultimately it can end the arabisraeli conflict once and for us. President trump is going about this differently than other white houses. He wants to craft deals with arab countries and then go after the palestinians. The president said hes going in the back door but a door that is the smart door. See if it works. Neil . Neil john roberts, thanks very much. John at the white house here. Trey yingst. Timing was everything. As soon as this accord was being signed were getting reports of a rocket shower over israel. Trey, what can you tell us . Neil, thats exactly right. People around the world were watching this peace ceremony at the white house, two rockets were fired from the gaza strip to southern israel. One intercepted by the israel Missile Defense system. Here one landing. Six people were injured at this site. Four from shock, two took pieces of glass from shrapnel. A senior hamas official said there will be no peace or stability in the region unless the palestinians are brought to the table and needs are addressed. This larger peace deal is seen as a positive first step for the region. The palestinians say there were promises from gulf countries about normalizing a palestinian state before brokers ties with the jewish state. The promises have been broken they say and a cease fire that had been brokered in the region with the help of the qatari government is broken as well. Neil . Neil thanks. Be safe yourself. Trey yingst on reaction here. Not everyone confident this will lead to longterm peace but these bumps were expected. Well keep an eye on it and talk to the president who says four or five other arab countries could sign up to deals with their own with israel. We shall see. Getting a little bit worrisome in the gulf of mexico right now. Landfall expected for Hurricane Sally tomorrow morning were told. Hard to gauge it. Its so slowmoving and not really zigging or zagging. Theres worries in the region there. We started in mississippi. I want to go to alabama where Grady Trimble is. How is it looking, grady . Neil, the rain is not that heavy right now and the winds are not that strong. Dont let that fool you. In the distance is where the hurricane is sitting. This is the mobile river which feeds into the bay. This is potentially right where sally is going to make landfall tonight and into tomorrow. You can see the river here is all lined with businesses. If you go south from here in the bay when it opens up, theres many houses awell. One area where we were earlier, the water was starting to splash over the sea wall. The concern with the storm surge, the slowmoving storm that could dump up to two feet of rain in some areas and could make for a dangerous combination. Many rivers expecting life threatening historic flooding just east of here. Certainly something that people in the area are taking seriously despite the relatively calm conditions right now. Neil . Neil grady, thank you. I want to go to pete gayner right now. Hes a fema administrator. This is a very busy season. Were down to one more named storm before we have to move on to the greek alphabet. What the heck . How is this looking from your Vantage Point . So sally is moving at extremely slow speeds. You know, going to be a surge threat along the coast all the way from the mississippi, the mouth of the mississippi to Walton County in florida along the panhandle. Then its going to move inland and going to dump a ton of rain. 1020 inches, isolated 30 years. So you know, those residents of mississippi, alabama, florida that live along the coast saying im going to get this surge and out of it, those inland have to be careful about flooding, flash flooding, you know, dont take the storm for granted. You have time to make final preparations. Heed the directions of your local and state Emergency Managers and keep your families safe. Neil you know, we talked about probably so many in that region feeling a little bit of storm, hurricane fatigue. I mentioned earlier these other storms that are in the greater neighborhood from hurricane paulette, Tropical Storm teddy, Tropical Storm vicky, renee and on and on we go. Have you ever seen anything like this . We have not. Noaa had forecast this would be an above average season and lived up to that forecast. Were at the top of the historical peak of Hurricane Season in the atlantic. We expected to see a lot of action and we are getting a lot of action here over the past couple days and weeks. Neil you know, i have noticed that when a lot of people are told you have to evacuate or go to a shelter, as soon as you mentioned shelter and i mentioned it with so many guests, probably you, they get leery about that owing to the virus and Everything Else and being too close to people. How are states or how do you recommend states, regions handled that . In some cases theyll open up hotels, motels in the area to mitigate that. People are leery. Yeah. And nobody wants to leave their home. So when told to do so by officials, you have to do it. Weve been working on this awhile now. You know, when covid started, we knew we would walk into Hurricane Season and put out planning guides for states to adopt their plans. I was in louisiana a couple weeks ago with laura. States have done a tremendous job with the considerations of covid19. Very few people in the normal sheltering conditions that you see in like gymnasiums. The majority of people are in hotels. Thats a credit to good planning. If youre in louisiana, mississippi, alabama, florida, the state Emergency Managers and i talked to many today, have a plan to put those at risk into n noncongregate care shelters. Neil so much we dont know about the storm itself. But we do know it would be the first serious test if it were brushed by new orleans of the levees and the strength and conditions since katrina about 15 years ago. What do you think of that . I was down in new orleans probably a month ago now. Did a great tour with mayor cantrell looking at all the things that have improved down there from the levies to mitigation, to make sure that water stays out of neighborhoods. Maintenance on pumps. Shes hard at it down there, making sure shes keeping her city safe. This will impact new orleans a little bit. Theyre not out of it yet. More fortunate that it goes east. Especially think about those in lake charles trying to recover from laura. This is probably a better track for them. But again, not over yet. Take it seriously. Again, heed those instructions from your state and local Emergency Managers. All right. Now, after this when we have one more name, i guess, english name that could apply to a storm w. Neil it will be wilford, right . And then after that, its the greek alphabet. That hasnt been utilized since 2005. How is that decided, by the way . Its decided by noaa. Hey have a committee that picks names. They do it for our five years in advance. We havent done this in 15 years. And, you know, again being about halfway through the Hurricane Season, i would plan to go through a few more names into the greek alphabet here over the next weeks and months. Neil all right. I have to brush up on my greek. Thanks, pete gaynor. Keep your calm. The latest here is that this slowmoving storm,2 miles an hour, most people can walk faster than that. But it is a problem with storm surges and flooding because it is so slow moving. They expect 11 foot surges. That is something theres no write a you could survive that. So heed the local warnings. That does it for us. Well monitor this. Heres the five. Dana hello, everyone. Im dana perino with greg gutfeld, jesse waters and Juan Williams and katie pavlich. This is the five.
