I will start with the positive and that neil, is that four people dead in louisiana as a result of this. Thats a small number for a cat 4 hurricane. The negative, of course, is the cleanup that you mentioned. Look at this, anywhere you look, if i just shut up and walk this camera around the city, you would see just how difficult this situation is here. Power down everywhere. I dont know we havent seen anybody that has power. And this is a good size city. It took a direct hit. And then damage everywhere. If you look across that mcnortheast state university. It look likes bricks everywhere. Actually the roof of this facility. Thats what the roofing material looks like. Its styrofoam and then cement up on top. Businesses, look at this. This is just one of the dozen hundreds of businesses damaged and closed right now. Cleanup just now starting. I suspect tomorrow, neil, we will start to get into that. Hey, tomas, come on down if you can, as i said just showing you this in realtime this just happened in the last 12 hours, obviously. The cleanup here is starting. But it is going to take a very long time. Maybe you see a lot of glass. A lot of power lines. A lot of trees. A lot of mess. As i said, cat 4 storm. 150 mileperhour winds. I guess you should expect this sort of thing. Good news is lack of loss of life. Bad news is huge, huge damage. Neil . Neil its just incredible. Looks like a war zone. Jeff flock, my friend. Reporting lake charles, louisiana. Bryan llenas right now holly beach, louisiana, also assessing substantial damage right now. How is it looking . Neil, good afternoon. Behind me you will see an rv that was pushed over by the wind. Hurricane laura came in right here in the gavin newsom just 100 yards to my left. Brought a 9foot storm surge and over 100 mileperhour winds. This is holly beach the cajun rivera. Here is a drone look. Our fox news drone will give you aerial view of some of the damage we are seeing along the coast it. Is substantial. If you walk over here you can see homes that have actually survived this on the stilts. Thats the good news. Buff we have, well, lots of twisted metal. We have other foundations that have not survived, including those with rvs. There are lots of downed power lines here and some flooding. We those homes did survive on that 15foot pylon. They were able to survive this storm surge which they think was about 9 feet. We spoke to somebody who said during hurricane trait nothing was left standing. In that sense they feel relieved that they at least have some of these homes on their pylons. See behind me over here as weld and on our drone footage in some cases it looks as though a tornado ripped right through here. This rv completely demolished. This vehicle completely gone as well. You see lots of debris all over the place. This iseople call this home. This is the cajun rivera. This was just seven miles west of where hurricane laura made landfall. We got the brunt of that eye here in this location. But, again, the devastation you can see, it was really a lot of the winds here. If you look at those homes with the pylons there, just the windows are intacked in many of those homes. The water did not reach all the way to the top. In that sense i believe some of the residents here are going to feel relieved from that. But, devastation here. You see me on a satellite phone, lack of signal here because of all the downed power lines. And there are rvs and homes that are completely obliterated. Again during hurricane rita during 2005, nothing was left standing here. This is the situation we are dealing with here in holly beach 7 miles west of where hurricane laura made that landfall as a category 4 storm. Neil . Neil bryan llenas, thank you very much, my friend. I want to go to todd United Cajun Navy president. These are the folks that come in and rescue volunteers anyone they can those who opted to stay in their homes. Remember about 500,000 were called to evacuate the area. Not everyone did. And now its up to folks, you know, like todd to sort out who is who, where they are, what do they need . He joins us. Todd, thank you for taking the time. How are things looking . Its looking pretty rough. You know, we do a lot of these storms all over the country and to have one once again in our backyard is pretty devastating. Neil you know, i heard reports of some who are very reluctant to leave, todd. I could understand in this covid19 world they didnt want to be in shelters and the risk that that would have. They were battening down the hatches and sort of trying to ride it out. Do you know how many are in that kind of predicament now without power, without easy access to and from their homes . Its a pretty good bit of them. Unfortunately with the way Cell Phone Service is right now its sporadic. As yall said we are pretty fortunate that we have satellite phones and all is well so we have pretty good communication. We actually had 13 individuals that we rescued today that stayed. And we dont know how they even survived. As far as that goes, there are still a lot of people disoriented and kind of looking around. They are in shock that this even happened to their homes because they were elderly and its never happened to them before. Neil you know, it could have been much worse. Its hard to imagine that as we look at some of these aerial images coming in that just show total devastation. But, you know, the loss of life, well, you never want to see it down to a few when in similar storms like this in the past, its been in the hundreds. Do you think that people followed up on the threat responded to the threat, heeded the warning, some obviously stayed in their homes. But they were taking this seriously, werent they . Yes. They were. We were kind of surprise you had as many took it seriously as it did especially with the coronavirus issue going on. We were kind of concerned that more people were going to stay home worried about it. But it really appears that the majority of the people took the warning and got out. Neil all right. Well best of luck, touchdown everything you are doingiomensg yeomens work trying to get to these people. Flotilla. Follow this closely be safe. Todd terrell United Cajun Navy. They commit themselves to go into the dangerous area others are trying to escape from. Keep monitoring that. We are also monitoring the white house. The president will of course address the nation tonight as he accepts the nomination from the south lawn of the white house. Just across the street they will be having fireworks after all of that we are also separately learning and this was largely expected well tell graphed we got into this on fox business that the administration is announcing or will announce formally a deal with Abbott Laboratories for a rapid covid19 test that takes a little as 5 minutes and could be had for not much more dollars like about 5 bucks. Of the 750 billion that the government will be committing here to buy 150 million rapid covid19 tests continues the speedy effort to get tests done and get them done quickly. Well have more after this. Facing leaks takes strength. So heres to the strong, who trust in our performance and comfortable, longlasting protection. Because your strength is supported by ours. Depend. The only thing stronger than us, is you. I do motivational speakingld. In addition to the substitute teaching. I honestly feel that thats my calling to give back to younger people. I think most adults will start realizing that they dont recall things as quickly as they used to or they dont remember things as vividly as they once did. Ive been taking prevagen for about three years now. People say to me periodically, man, youve got a memory like an elephant. Its really, really helped me tremendously. Prevagen. Healthier brain. Better life. Priceline works with top hotels, to save you up to 60 . These are all great. And when you get a big deal you feel like a big deal. priceline. Every trip is a big deal. So you ready to hit the road . I dont know. Just get on your bike. And ride no very serious blow here. Oh. 150 mileperhour winds. There is going to be some significant damage to homes, to some buildings. The damage is just everywhere. Today is about saving lives, search and rescue is ongoing right now. It was very big and powerful and passed quickly probably be going on saturday or sunday. Neil all right thats an Important Development here the president will indeed be visiting texas this weekend we dont know quite the details just yet. John roberts at the white house does. Keeping track of that, of course, on the big night the president will formally accept his partys nomination from that house behind us. John . John yes, you know, when we saw the hurricane hitting last night just as mike pence was delivering his speech the Vice President gave a nod to the men and women who live in the area who are going to be in harms way. I was wondering is the president going to have a speech tonight or might he postpone it . The president at fema headquarters a short time ago saying that he was actually considering postponing it until monday night but he is going to go ahead with it tonight and then visit the region in the next few days. Listen here. Now it turned out we got a little bit lucky. It was very big and powerful but it passed quickly. So everything is on schedule. We will probably be going on saturday or sunday and we will be heading to texas and louisiana. And maybe an additional stop. So that will either be on saturday, a little bit in the afternoon or sunday. And well be ready. After the president gave those remarks at the fema headquarters Kamala Harris came out and to what harris was going to say this the president said this about how his administration has handled the pandemic, listen here. What we did initially was a very, very important thing. Otherwise you would have millions of people dead. Enough to we have vaccine millions of people dead. But we got vaccines. We got treatments on the way. The president said defending his response to the coronavirus pandemic one of the things that the going to drive very sharp contrast with joe biden over the issue that has assumed dramatic reduction in wisconsin yesterday with the addition of National Guard members. The president saying that he is National Guard anybody who wants. To say some people in some states think this is a nod to ted w ms in the city of portland, oregon dont want to do that for political reason. Here is what the president said on that front. Great example. Its been going on for 90 days and we could put it out in one hour. All they have to do is ask us to come and well be there with the National Guard. Speech tonight is going to be a combination of criticism of joe biden and listing his accomplishments in the past three and a half years and what his agenda would be for a second term should he be fortunate enough to win on november the 3rd. Neil . Neil all right, john roberts. Thank you very, very much. Mick mulvaney is with us right now the former acting white house chief of staff. Nic, always good to have you. This venue the president is using the white house is as a back drop democrats are saying kind of tacking kind of against the hatch act you are politic siding the white house, the peoples house. What do you say to that . Much ado about nothing. Probably run through every lawyer. They wouldnt be doing it, neil, if it wasnt 100 percent legal. I have been through this analysis before with the president when we do campaignrelated things, there are certain things we can do them on the property in the residence, for example. Sometimes we go off property. We dont do it in the west wing. So, again, i think its a distraction trying to draw away from the substance of what you are going to see tonight. Neil if barack obama had done this back when he was running in 2012 and you are a feisty congressman, what would have you done . Sure. I guess my first reaction probably would have been oh my goodness thats not right and someone had sat me down but its legal i would have shut up every now and then you have to admit that you are wrong. Yeah we probably would have raised the issue. If someone sat down and said this is the law, you move onto the next believe me there were plenty of things to challenge the Obama Administration about other than where the president was giving a particular speech at any time. So your point is well made. It is politics. Its no question. Sometimes you have to admit have you lost that battle and time to move onto the next one. Neil all right. Its also in the con tenks of secretary of state mike pompeo i know he said he was speaking on behalf of a person, a human being, a patriot. He was the secretary of state. He was, you know, addressing a convention. And very much in a political role did that have a little bit of weirdness to you. It doesnt. I hate to be coming to the definition of the administration all the time but they are probably right. Here is why i say that i was in the cabinet as mike pompeo is i participated in Political Activities after hours because you are not a federal employee 24 hours a day. At least the rules dont apply to you 24 hours a day. When i was the chief of staff, i had a secret service detail. I would go out 8 00 at night and give a speech at a political event. There are certain things you still cant do. You cant ask for money, et cetera. You follow the rules. Neil there is a difference between the chief of staff and secretary of state, a little bit of a difference . Well, okay. But i was the director of the office of management and Budget Senate confirmed position in the cabinet. No, there is not that much difference between those two things. Neil okay. Hearken back to your days of running for office of management and budget. Right now we are told that talks are kind of resuming. I dont know where they went. Mark meadows your successor and right now nancy pelosi. I dont know if more were involved. Can you confirm that that they are now talking about a stimulus deal . I have seen the same reports that you have. I havent talked to mark this week. I talk to mark fairly regularly. I havent talked to him this week. Obviously a lot going on with the hurricane and riots in wisconsin and the prep for the big speech tonight. So, but i think think the white house is in the right situation here. I think nancy pelosi overplayed her hand. She thought the president would fold in those negotiations earlier in the summer. I think partly of the reason you are seeing her raise this u. S. Postal Service Issue to draw attention away from the fact that she messed up on stimulus. I think the White House Holds all the cards. I think they won the negotiation. The president could do certain things by executive order. Not everything, obviously. But he can show that he was the one trying to get something done when nancy was in the way. The way i can say that is that is the same thing that president obama did to us in 2011, 2013. On things like government shutdowns and the debt ceiling. The shoe is on the other foot. I think the white house is probably in the drivers seat here. They should be looking at small things, i think they are right not to be throwing trillions of dollars at this stimulus right now. Neil you know, its always been the eyes of the beholder i know. The president orders, executive actions whatever you call them wanted to take over the process because nothing was getting done. I understand that im amazed i talk to a number of ceos on fox bills which if you dont get you should demand. They were telling me to a man or a woman. Look, im feeling leary of acting on this and taking payroll taxes out and giving them to workers when its just the president s executive order, doesnt have the stamp of congress. I have very little cover and this might be temporary and i have to give the dough back. And thats why theyre not acting on it. What do you make of it . An excellent point. I have talked to ceos and heard the same criticism here. Is one way out of box. The president is in the position to make the federal government do it. The federal government is probably the largest employer nut country. He could make the federal agencies do what he is saying and give the workers those taxes being withheld. That would give the private sector a lot more cover. Similarly and we have not talked much about this, neil, he could make the federal government go back to work. Washington, d. C. Is a ghost town right now because all of these agencies are just thought sending folks back to work. The president has the ability, the Administration Last the ability to make the administration follow those rules and that would give the private sector the cover they need to do what they need to get more money in the workers pockets. The opportunity is there. The criticism is fair. The criticism is right. But there is a way out of it if the federal government could lead the way. Neil all right. And if they strike a deal in the meantime we shall see. The two sides to your point at least talking. Mick mulvaney former chief of staff, omb director. Much more coming including the debate by the way ahead of the president s big address to the country tonight from the south lawn of the white house. We thought they were agiven and nancy pelosi raised the idea, you know, if i were joe biden, i wouldnt bother. Then joe biden answered that after this. What happens now . Now that the rents due but theyve cut your pay. Now that the virus has cost lives but your healthcare costs too much. Now that our president has had months but he still doesnt have a plan. What happens now . Joe biden knows how to lead through a crisis because hes done it before. When our economy was on the verge of collapse, joe biden led the largest economic stimulus in a generation and saved millions of jobs. Now joe biden is ready to lead us through this crisis. He knows rebuilding our economy starts with fighting the virus, increasing testing, getting more protective gear for healthcare workers and calling for mask mandates nationwide. As president , hell get working families back on their feet by lowering healthcare costs and helping Small Businesses recover. So what happens now . We elect a president who will build back better. Im joe biden and i approve this message. You try to stay ahead of the but scrubbing still takes time. Now theres powerwash dish spray its the faster way to clean as you go just spray, wipe and rinse it cleans grease five times faster dawn powerwash. Spray, wipe, rinse. Where Everybody Knows someyour name ant to go and theyre always glad you came applebees. Now thats eating good in the neighborhood. Go go go go go go go on a real vacation. Visit go rving. Com or your nearest rv dealer. Neil all right, joe biden likes to say he warned the president early on about the dangers of covid19. Karl rove is looking into it. He didnt. We have the proof after this. Neil all right debate or not to debate seemed to be forgone conclusion three with one. Two president ial ones and one Vice President ial one between the president and Vice President ial candidates they would have one. Then comes nancy pelosi saying you know, joe, i dont think its a good idea. Dont bother trying it. And then the president or the guy thats to be president responding to that today. The back and forth was amazing will make your head spin. Hillary vaughn on top of it all with the great debated game, i think, hillary first will be the president ial debate. Their democratic nominee joe biden should not show up i myself dont tell anybody i told you this especially dont tell joe biden i dont think there should be any debates. He is now bowing out but has said people tell him he shouldnt debate trump unless there are live Fact Checkers pr for now he says he is fine doing that himself. Im going to debate him now i know for certain i will be a fact checker on the floor while im debating him lying, lying, lying, one after another. Trump campaign is worried that pelosis advice is ominous foreshadowing that biden might bail or phone it in saying this in a statement quote we are also concerned that his handler also ultimately decide to keep him in his basement and avoid debates entirely or suggest holding them remotely via skype whereby den could rely on nearby handlers, a teleprompter or notes. The president has said he wants more debates but so far the Biden Campaign has only agreed to three. The first one on september 29th in ohio. Neil . Neil historian and keeper of the facts and debate and history. We are kind of used to a certain age that we accept debates. They werent always the case. In 1960 it was president breaking between jfk and richard nixon. Richard nixon maybe learned something from that experience because in 68 and 72 he opted not to debate his opponent. It didnt hurt him either time he won both times. Im wondering how real of an impact it would have with americans getting used to these things if we didnt have them thats a good question you pointed out neil 1960 were the first president ial debates the reason we had them not because of the issues that pelosi and President Trump are dealing with now, issues of character, its issues of politics both kennedy and nixon felt they had something to gain if they did a debate. Nixon was experienced. Two term Vice President he thought he would win and kennedy wanted to appear statesmanlike. Both had reason to do it and they did it. As you point out nixon did not do so in 1968 or 1972 neither did Lyndon Johnson in 1964. In both case cases with 64 with johnson and 74 with nixon they had huge leads they did not feel they needed to debate and they refused to do it. Neil what im wondering is when nancy pelosi signaled if i had my way i would tell joe dont debate. Was she seizing on his poll lead . There is a reason we dont want to do anything to screw this up . Was she ceding any fierce that democrats that biden in unscripted debate format may not be as smooth or fast on his feet and might suffer in the polls as a result. Normally thats the leader that sort of rolls the dice and says i dont need this. Polls can be fleeting. Who stands to lose more if we dont have debates . It again biden has had a big lead. Democrats have felt the need to deploy the Lyndon Johnson strategy or nixon in 1972 avoid the debates because you have a big lead. That big lead has been shrinking this week with the Republican Convention. As trump narrows the margin, i think joe biden will feel he has to debate or, in fact, he will lose credibility gerald ford debated carter in 18976. That was the renewal of the president ial debates. Again, because both knelt they had something to gain. Carter needed the stature of appearing before a president in a debate. Ford was behind in the polls and wanted to catch up. Interest was had to have debates. Whether we will have debates with biden and trump i think depend on the politics and if biden has a lead or not. If biden doesnt have a lead, he certainly will need to debate to recapture some. Neil rethink it. The irony in the 76 gerald ford and carter. Poland wasnt communist rule we knew what happened. You have can fast forward jimmy carter decided a little more than weak above the election to go ahead and have a debate with Ronald Reagan he thought he could crush him like a bug. The polls were oddly enough tight at the time. No hint. Ronald reagan comported himself very, very well. The rest is history. Things can change. Thats right. You are right, neil. Debates can be important. Neil what happens now . Whose style tends to benefit in this environment . You always remind me that substance matters but sometimes style and approach and being quick on your feet, that can matter more. It did governor decaucus 1968 did poorly he and he the question very poorly when bernard shaw asked him if his wife were raped and murdered we still favor the Death Penalty and he was so calm and casual answering it people felt you needed to show a certain amount of emotion if those bad things happen to your wife. So style counted against decaucus and helped bush win the debate and the election. Neil very interesting. I read that in history books. I was too young to remember that myself. You are right. You can be pleasantly surprised or unpleasantly surprised gefnsding on your point of view. Brook follow some. Hillsdale college. Great keeper of debate facts. We have a lot more coming up including karl roe. He writes great columns on the wall street journal. The debate over who knew what and appreciate the magnitude of the virus and. When everybody points fingers at the president for botching it. No one seems to go back in time what joe biden was saying it. Looks like he botched it too. After this. vo elevate your senses. The audi a6. Get exceptional offers at your local audi dealer. Trump still doesnt have a plan. He still doesnt have a plan. Joe biden released his first plan in march. And heres what you have to understand about the nature of a pandemic its relentless you cant stop it with a tweet. You cant create a distraction and hope it will go away. Neil and if my friend and colleague karl rove is right you cant rid that history and say you were any different in the early days of the virus itself. Karl has a great column in todays wall street journal. This one in particular fascinated me because he took a little bit of a timeline early on on how everybody was responding to the coronavirus back then and takes issue with the coronavirus saying he was on top of it, warning the president and cut to the chase. Karl, its very good to have you, thanks. Thanks thanks, neil. Appreciate it. Neil if you are going to fault the president on what he knew and how he handled things joe biden shares some blame for that, right . Absolutely. Look, i tried to chart what was joe biden thinking during january february and march . What i found was he was thinking this was not going to be a big deal. In fact, his first explanation of what he would do is on january 27th he writes an oped in u. S. A. Today and he says this could be a pandemic and i have got four things that i suggest we need to do. Three of them involving passing legislation in 2021 after he took office next january he would pass three bills and then he would reauthorize a federal appropriation for hospitals treating pandemic patient in may which congress renews routinely. I looked at what his people were saying and it got worse. He was sur are underred byron income klain and lisa all become members of his Health Advisory committee and they are saying bizarre things. This isnt going to be a pandemic. Travel bans dont work. The day that the First American dies of covid in dirk land, washington so weekial manual was says dont go out and bay mask because they dont work. They were dismissive it was going to get serious. The likelihood of this being serious is very low. Emanuel says as it warms up, its going to move to the Southern Hemisphere like the flu does. This is not going to to be that serious. Think about this, in january and february and march, several words never crossed the lips of the former Vice President of the united states, masks, social distancing, never cross it. Lockdowns, never crossed his mind. He is in mid on march 9th has a rally as late as early april he is talking about the utility of voting in person as opposed to doing a mailin ballot. So, the idea that he is somehow on top of this is bologna. He knows it. Because he now you will notice in his address he said just like i have been saying since march, and then he had a couple other quotes where he suggested it was even earlier that he had laid out a plan of action. Dead give away was he went on the joy reid show first interview. This is about three weeks ago. She says to him now, assume you get elected president , what would you do next january . And he lists six things, all of which were already being done by the administration. He said i didnt vote the defense production act. Already done. I would appoint somebody be in charge of speeding up va vaccins and distribution. That happened in may. Its remarkable rewriting of history and the media goes along with this because its easier to do so than to say really what about the statement that you made in january . What about the statement you made in march . Neil to your point, karl, have you got to be fair and balanced about this. I would like to call balls and strikes. I do remember the president as well was hopeful that the warmer weather. The virus would go away. Right, absolutely. Neil or at loos get more under control. What else interesting about joe biden, of course, he criticized the president at the time when the president issued that travel ban, china i believe on january 31st to your point and called it to your remembrance here hysterical xenophobia and fear mongering. Nancy pelosi and others were advocating everyone visit chinatown out in san francisco. This is going way too far. You are welcome here nothing about that nownchts yeah and same with the your honor mean travel ban he and lisa monaco doubleteam trump on the european travel ban saying its not thats problematic. Ron klain says he is worried about the effect on tourism of the china travel ban and dismisses it. So, yeah, look, its just everybody one thing i learned when thinking about this with in the bush era with sars and so forth was, you never know exactly how this is going to proceed. And the idea that somehow or another joe biden had a magic plan that if we only he made statements recently that 56,000 people and then he later said 30some thousand people would not have died had trump followed his advice there was no advice that he gave. If only one week earlier he had acted people would not have died. Well, you werent given the advice that was needed. You werent giving the advice that was necessary. Because you were just in the dark like everybody else. Neil i think the lesson i think we can all learn from this is, you know, before you start throwing out criticism or getting to the origins of something and what someone missed, maybe everybody what we can do now have commissions and investigations into all of this. I dont think it does anyone good pointing fingers when you could be guilty of the same thing yourself. I know its a campaign year, but i think we got to get both sides out. You know. Yeah. Good point. Excellent point. Neil very good article. It does give you a very fair and balanced look about who knew what and who was saying what back then. We are all sort of virus experts to karls point right now. Before the media and anyone else was pontificating about this karl actually did his homework. Went back inside and traced his remarks and who was saying what and they dont sound so herculean in retrospect. Thank god for very smart interns is all i have got to say. [laughter] we spent a lot of time on line sifting through lots of articles. And even then missed some. My editor at the wall street journal a outcome guy named la coffman a really smart young guy pointed out an article i missed had a great coat by biden claiming quote for having visionary expectations what needed to be done long before he did. Neil yeah. You got to be, you know, you got to be tough on both sides, it makes you whence going after the president but it doesnt why dont you just go after both. Study, study, study. Karl, thank you very much. Thank you, neil, great to be on with you. Priceline can save you up to 60 on top hotels. And when you save up to 60 . Lets play. Youre always a winner. You got. Up to 60 off your hotel but isnt that the only one . Youre a winner priceline. Every trip is a big deal. But isnt that the only one . Youre a winner so you ready to hit the road . I dont know. Just get on your bike. And ride no for 37 years we have been fighting for survivors of child sex abuse. Even in these uniquely challenging times were still fighting with dedication and devotion. California law gives survivors a chance to take legal action, but only for a limited time. If you were sexually abused by a priest, scout leader, coach or teacher contact us confidentially today. Its time. Neil all right. We have gotten confirmation that the president will be visiting the Gulf Coast Region. I dont know if it will include both louisiana and texas. He plans to be there this weekend to seat fallout from hurricane laura which battered the area as a category 4 storm before settling down now a Tropical Storm north of arkansas as we speak. But not without a lot of damage. A lot of flooding and just a big old mess. Adrian perkins is a freeport louisiana mayor joins us right now via skype. Mayor, how are things looking there now . So the bulk of the storm has passed and we were blessed today. We didnt have any reports of any injuries or loss of life. But we do have about 40,000 reporters and people in our pay irish that dont have electricity. Try to restore electricity in our area and return some sense of normalcy after hurricane laura passes. Neil and a lot of residents must have heeded your warning the mayor and that of your governor dont fool around with this thing testimony serious and bad storm. Many evacuated, others hunkered down. Do you know where a lot of them are now . I know i was talking to some fema types earlier in the day and saying part of the problem after a storm like this without any power or ways of communicate selfservice is finding who is who and where they are. Yes, we do. Im grateful for our residents as well because they did take heed and we didnt have any calls where people went into the water or did anything that was irresponse sin today. So a big part of our story is the citizens hereby adhering to our guidance. Right now we have two on one lines that are open and we have our eoc and Homeland Security center that are receiving calls from residents that dont have power and need supplies. So we have a good accountability of our residents. A lot of them who possibly live in low lying areas that might be experiencing flooding. They are utilizing femas vouchers and some of them are in our hotels here. As of now everybody is still safe that we are accountable of. Mayor, obviously the president is offered whatever help you need. Getting down to the region himself. What are some of the biggest things you need right now. You are absolutely right. They already sent two teams from fema out of colorado and ohio down here. They granted us a state of emergency which we desperately needed. That allows me to put my Police Officers and my firemen out during these times of emergency and allow to be able to pay them overtime so we can get reimbursed. Yeah. This has been a very collaborative effort from the federal government, State Government and local entities as well. So were grateful for that and were going to utilize the resources as best as possible so we can maintain safety even post storm. Neil all right. Mayor, i know you have your work cut out for you. You probably had very little sleep. We appreciate it very, very much. Adrian perkins is the mayor of shreveport, louisiana. Again, we are learning and the president does plan to visit the area. The Gulf Coast Region this weekend. So well keep you posted on that.
