Just absolutely frigid temperatures and its coming behind a cold front sweeping across the country. We saw some of this in the upper midwest. Theres snow in chicago, michigan. This system, behind it, that well see the numbers fall. Already areas getting down to negative 18, in chicago 36. Youd like to think this is as cold as its going to get. The numbers will drop drastically further. So we have windchill advisories across the upper plain states, the great lake states and as far south as kentucky. Running along the ohio river valley, the numbers are going to fall in a big way. This is your future forecast. You can Pay Attention to the time stamp. Overnight, tomorrow morning, negative 32 degrees in detroit. 30 in indianapolis. Negative 50 degrees tomorrow morning in chicago. The same is the case in minneapolis. It continues. Now, its bad on wednesday all day wednesday. Never getting much warmer than negative 40ish in chicago. You say the same thing thursday morning where the temperatures are down into the negative 30 to 40 degree range. At this point, it pushes along the east coast a bit. Never to the negative 30s and 40s. Temperatures very cold. The areas that i highlighted will get to the negative 30s and 40s. Down along the gulf coast, things will be freezing. Temperatures in the upper 20s wednesday morning. This is a huge chill that a lot of folks will be dealing with. Neil what is making this such a big deal though . It seems to be 2 3s of the continental united states. As systems goes, this is massive. It is massive. You have a low pressure system that spins over the polar vortex. And then it just spills down. Usually when it spills this deep. Its always a low pressure sitting there but rarely falls this south. Neil thanks, buddy. Youve been working long hours going through this. So thank you, adam, for that update. Well keep you updated. From the real chill to the political chill on fox news, john roberts in the white house on the reception that the president might be receiving a week from tonight when he gives his state of the Union Address. John . Typically when a president gives a state of the union, half the chamber stands and applauds and the other half may sit on their hands. Democrats may sit harder than last year. The letter came late yesterday from Speaker Pelosi to invite the president to give the state of the Union Address on february 5, next tuesday. The president sending Speaker Pelosi back a letter saying it will be my pleasure to come and speak to you. We have a great story to tell, great goals to achieve. Clearly theres talk about the Border Security and also what he believes are the successes of his administration the last year and some of his priorities Going Forward including immigration reform, infrastructure reform, drug prices and health care and trade and deregulation. The white house saying theyre glad to see the invite. They dont believe that the speaker played this one well at the beginning with that request to postpone. Listen here to sarah sanders. I certainly dont think she acted in good faith on the front end saying she cited security concerns that didnt exist. We hope in the forward she will. The president looks forward to addressing the american people. Of course, hanging over all of this is the shut down that just recently ended and the potential for another shut down if the Congressional Conference Committee cant come to an agreement Going Forward by february 15. The white house disputing a finding by the Congressional Budget Office that the economy permanently lost 3 billion as a result of the shut down and the treasury secretary, Steven Mnuchin saying there was minimum impact to the economy and the American Economy continues to be strong. Listen here. From everything we see, the u. S. Economy is still quite strong. Companies are doing well. We see still tremendous investment in capital and human investments. Were monitoring that carefully. We see a tremendous opportunity and a lot of capitol coming into the u. S. We see no indications whatsoever of a recession on the horizon. Which is good news for American Business and for the people that are out there enjoying gainful employment. We should mention, keith hall, the cbo chairman is on the hill testifying before the Senate Budget committee. Well see if he has something to say in response to larry kudlow saying, you know, weve had a bit of a disagreement with the cbo in the past and we disagree with them this time. We dont believe the economy as lost 3 billion. Neil yeah, the Administration Says that the cbo lowballs it. They understated the strength that we have already seen. They understate the strength of the commit, they overstate the impact of the economy. Thats the way the budget the white house plays it. Neil thanks, john. The House Minority whip, steve scalise. Congressman, very good to have you. Good to be back with you. Neil are we going to be looking at another shut down in 16 or 17 days . I hope were not, neil. The president lays out what is needed to security our border. Nancy pelosi said she wouldnt negotiate. Now the shut down is over for the time being. Will she finally start being willing to put a dollar amounted on the table to say how much is she willing to put together to security the border. It will take 5 billion, the experts have said that to security the border. What is nancy pelosi willing to put on the table. Neil if its not 5. 5 billion, then what . Its got to be a serious credible offer. Her only credible offer not credible. The only offer on the table till now is a dollar. It was a ludicrous gesture. If its not 5. 7 billion, which is what the experts say, what is your number and are you willing to give the Border Patrol agents, the ice agents the tools that they need. Neil so lets say a dollar and she doesnt budge. Then what . We started seeing the last few weeks more and more democrats coming to our side, even steny hoyer, the majority leader said physical barriers ought to be a part of the solution. So you know, while nancy pelosi is catering to the far left elements of her base, most americans recognize you have to secure the border. The open borders crowd on the left might be representing a narrow element of the liberal base. But most americans want to secure the border. We let more than a Million People in a year legally. But we have to secure the border to stop the drugs and the criminal elements every single day. Neil almost every prominent republican ive been speaking to of late, congressman, is saying the last thing they want to see is the government shut down, whether its on republicans or not. If the president were to pursue that, they would fight him on it. Do you think this could be a party revolt if the president says all right, shut her down . No. Thats why its so important that the president lay this case out next week on february 5. Youll see a heightened level of number, millions of americans watching the state of union that dont normally watch it because theyre hearing about this back and forth. What is this really about . What is the debate about . Theyll see President Trump laying out the case for securing americas border. What happens every day. Bad things happen every day that most americans never hear about it. Lets lay that case out and see where everybody will be. If democrats want to stick with nancy pelosi and be for open borders, theyll be on the wrong side of history on this argument. Neil you might be wrong on that. When i talked to a number of democrats as well including the deputy whip for the democrats who said he was open for things that nancy pelosi presumably was not. I want you to react to this. Nancy pelosi said a wall was immoral. What do you think . A wall from sea to shining sea would be. I dont think were talking about that. Neil no. You would be open for some wall funding if it came to that . For sure. We supported that in the yeah. Neil all right. All right. So hes open to that. And to your point, sir, many others are open to that as well. But what is going to bridge the divide here . In 16 or so days, you presumably want that settled, get the daca thing settled. Is all of that possible by the deadline . Its clear will i possible. I think what you just played there is an example of where a lot of democrats are. The president said, i dont need a sea to shining sea wall. Theres about 550 miles of completely unprotected area where we know bad things, drugs, human trafficking, murders come across. Lets focus on that area. If nancy pelosi really doesnt want a wall, President Trump said hey, ill be willing to let you put a wall that bans cement wall. Have a barrier. The steel slat barriers are what the experts say work the best. Let the experts do it. You dont need politicians telling us what to do. Let the people that risk their leaves keep us safe, have the debate, a Conference Committee now. Let the democrats and republicans, house and Senate Members start to work today. They have a few weeks to do this. I think we can solve this in hours if everybody gets in the room, puts the partisanship on the side and the personality differences on the side. This is about keeping america safe. Lets get it done. I curious what you make of this. Theres the books out, former governor Chris Christie has one out where he berates kushner. And then the lowranking press officer saying its a vipers nest in the white house. What is going on a . Why do the books keep coming out . I have a book, too, neil. Neil yours is not a viper book. Ive worked with the president and his staff. Ive worked with kristen nielson, mick mulvaney, the acting chief of staff. Theyre all focused on the mission of keeping our country safe and getting our economy back on track. The any is working really well. It can get better. Theres more opportunities neil how did that get lost with chris sims talks about the administration wrecked with leakers and that its just out of control. Is that what leads to this view of just confusion in the white house or what . Maybe thats some people that were pushed to the outside. The meetings ive been in, its all business whether President Trump laying out an agenda to get if economy moving again or securing the border. Its the facts. Lay the facts on the table and figure out the best way to get it done. So you know, if theres back stabbing, i havent seen it in meetings. The meetings ive been in have focused on results. Weve delivered some. Theres more that i need to deliver. Thats where i spend my time. If somebody left to write a book, they werent in the middle of the action anyway. Why dont we keep focus on what we need to do to get the country back on track and debate the differences to ultimately flush this out. Thats why the state of the union will be so important next week. Neil so something more of substance, Chris Christies book where he puts the finger on Jared Kushner and that and that that has not served the president well and that that gets in the way here because the. Is not being served by the people that should be serving him and helping him. Do you agree with that . I havent read Chris Christies book. When President Trump sent Jared Kushner to israel, for example, to hes working on middle east peace. Its one of the most complicated issues that anybody can work on. Is it getting come son very sayings . We got to see the American Embassy moved to jerusalem. What some people thought would be controversial and look how smooth that turned out to be. They said it would be chaos in the middle east. Yet you didnt see any bled shed. It was a unifying event in many ways. So Jared Kushner was involved in that does he get credit . He deserves some clearly. But everybody will have personality differences with other people they work with. Were all judged on the results. What do we do at the end of the day to get this country back on track. Neil fair enough. I think youve been through more important things to put life in a better perspective. Steve scalise, back in the game, glad that you are. Good seeing you again. Good being back with you. Neil meantime, roger stone encounters protesters again and now saying, you know what . Ill talk but i have nothing bad to say about the president. This could drag on awhile. What constitutes awhile . Try a year. If i built a van, it would do more than haul. If i built a van, it would carry my entire business. Id make it available in dozens, make that thousands of configurations. It would keep an eye on my fleet. [ beeping ] and an eye out for danger. With active brake assist. If i built a van, id make it available in diesel and gas. And id build it right here, in south carolina. Introducing the all new sprinter starting at 33,790. Built in the usa. Mercedesbenz. Vans. Born to run. This round is on me. Hey, can you spot me . Come on in find your place, today, with silver sneakers. Included with Many Medicare plans. Call the number on the screen now or visit getsilversneakers. Com neil thats what i was waiting for. The money shot. The Richard Nixon shot. Roger stone pleading not guilty to all the charges of the russian probe. A day after that whitaker said Robert Mueller is getting close to wrapping things up. We dont know how he would know that and whether this jives with a trial for mr. Stone that could be a year or more away to former federal prosecutor on this. Are they mutually compatible . They could be. Mueller was appointed to determine whether or not there was cooperation or collusion between the russians and the trump campaign. So far hes not filed a single indictment on that theory. Hes filed indictments related to past activities, what other people have done. He filed a indictment related to russian interference in the post election against trump and indictments for false statement. Neil lying to congress, lying to investigators. No collusion with russians. Not a single indictment. Neil if this way out of control, it wouldnt be the first investigation that has. The whitewater investigated started with real estate and ended with an intern. What do you see this going . I think mueller is about to end his investigation. He will submit a record to the department of justice and then the department of justice will make a determination whether or not it becomes public. William barr will get this. Its a hot potato in his seat. It goes to him. The core investigation is whether theres collusion and cooperation. So far theres no evidence of that whatsoever. Neil but the house would pick and choose and then the senate. If theyre so hot to trot to pursue. If they want an impeachment. Neil but nothing would indicate that for now. I dont see it. What may happen in the future is right here in manhattan in the southern district, theres other investigations going on, including matters involving cohen. Will they take the lead in terms of those investigations. But mueller is at the end of his road. Neil so michael cohen, the president s former lawyer, hes in this unique situation where there were charges raised on the social media news site that said the president ordered him to lie in front of congress. Then the mueller team clarified things, not that that specific charge is accurate but the net was wrong. Did mueller say that particular issue was false . He related to it that particular issue, not neil had to have been talking about that. Exactly. Neil where are we now . What mueller said publicly is that trump did not induce cohen to Say Something that was false. Didnt engage in any kind of obstruction of justice. He cleared the air on that. Very unique. He hasnt done that at any time before. Neil what made him do that . I think it was so significant and so detrimental to the president that i think mueller felt compelled to do that. Well watch closely. Thank you very much. Thank you. Neil were getting word on the brexit back and forth that the European Union said the current deal with the United Kingdom remains and the best and only way for an orderly brexit. So theresa mays vows to overhaul the agreement, the europeans are saying no, this is the deal, this is what you have to make peace with and this is what you have to rely on. So breakaway or not. Its up to you. More after this. And down eastbound and down. Loaded up and truckin we gonna do what they say cant be done weve got a long way to go and a short time to get there. Im eastbound, just watch ole bandit run whatever party youve got going in the back, weve got the business up front. I but i can tell you i Liberty Mutual customized my Car Insurance so i only pay for what i need. Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Only pay for what you need. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. This is it guys. You ready . To have epix . Absolutely. Woooo youd laugh. Oh, ow. [ chuckles ] youd cry. Look, look, look, look, look, look, look,. Maybe even laugh while crying. What the fertilizer . Sounds pretty great, right . Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight just say, add epix and it can all be yours. Its easy to upgrade. And you dont want to miss out on everything epix. Neil it was a blurb on notes on a page. John bolton indicating 5,000 troops to columbia, which is next door to venezuela, which is in the middle of a revolution who is in the middle of two president s who we slapped 7 billion in sanctions to get him out of there, Nicholas Maduro and a more politically savory candidate in his place. Now what happens . Jack keane on this. First of all, the become and forth with the issue with the 5,000 troop notation on ambassador bolton ipad. I thought it was strange. Neil because it was on the page . I dont know. It begs the question for sure. Theres nothing else written on the pad and it was very exposed. What could 5,000 troops realistically do if the mission has something to do with venezuela and maduro. It could not conduct a regime change. When we did a regime change in panama, 28,000 troops in a night raid that lasted a couple days. In haiti in 1994, close to 28,000. The u. S. Led the coalition to do that. So obviously 5,000 does not get you a regime change. It would be likely in the event that we have a security problem with our americans that are at the embassy and it would exceed the capability of some marines that are also on stand by to go in which, which is called a Smaller Group a fast group, to use that abbreviation for that so its a precautionary measure that is being taken that we have an unforeseen emergency. Neil let me ask you, were in favor of getting maduro out there. He doesnt represent the will of the people and this opposition, juan guaido does. To put the pressure on besides these 5,000 troops in columbia, which might or might not be in the plans but raising eyebrows, weve obviously got this move and the staterun oil company to freeze it essentially and getting its goods out and back to the government. So how does that affect the generals that typically have been and remain behind maduro . What would shake them off . You put your finger on it. The sanctions are a good thing. Theyre significant and will take its toll. Like all sanctions, takes awhile for that impact to occur. The generals are fundamentally corrupt, this is a dictatorship, a repressive regime. Theyre being paid off by maduro and other regime leaders. So clearly their loyalty and their future is tied to him. I think guaido has done a good thing by saying, listen, im guaranteeing you amnesty if you walk away from supporting maduro. They have to be convinced that that is a fact. That alone wont move them unless they absolutely see total collapse in the country. The other thing, im hoping and im convinced we are because the National Security team around the president is so strong, they are likely working on a pathway to exit maduro to exile with no recriminations for criminal activity, representation, et cetera. Kind of the way reagan did marcos in 1986. That was engineered very smoothly, got him off to hawaii. Hundreds of thousands of people in the streets. It was going to turn into a blood bathed. The administration engineered the right answer to that. This is more complicated because we may not have the relationships with maduro that americans had certainly with Ferdinand Marcos for years. Theres other people that do. Likely that is going on and its not visible to us and hopefully that will be the answer. Neil fingers crossed. General, thanks very much. Good talking to you. Neil the state department did issue a warning to anyone considering traveling to venezuela as if thats not a good idea. Its a dangerous place and not a safe place to be. On this same superintendent, juan guaido will be a special guest of trish regan at 8 00 p. M. A rare chance to hear from the man of the hours who is the most scrutinized leader. So little known about him. Most of the western world want him to take over. China, russia and cuba do not. More after this. [knocking] memories. What we deliver by delivering. Jamie, this is your house . I know, its not much, but its home. Right, kids . Kids . Papa, papa [ laughs ] you didnt tell me your friends were coming. Oh, yeah. This one is tiny like a child. Yeah, she is. Oh, but seriously, its good to be surrounded by what matters most a home and auto bundle from progressive. Oh, sweetie, please, play for us. Oh, no, i couldnt. Please. Okay. [ singing in spanish ] neil you ship has come in. Is it any surprise that mcdonalds chose my hour to launch the free bacon with anything, even ice cream today and today only . Youre welcome, america. Neil all right. What the heck has happened in venezuela . Its imploding and a lot of us were wondering, and you heard on the news and this broadcast, but very little coming from democrats that might be wondering about a socialistic country that is falling apart and boomerang badly on them. We have our democrats here with us. Antoine, why are so many of your friends that, you know, espouse these Big Government programs and now seeing the same thing falling apart in venezuela so quiet . Part of me feels like its malpractice, neil cavuto, for people to say democrats are silent on this issue when just last sunday on npr, we heard a democratic congresswoman from florida talking about how she supporting what this administration is doing as relates to venezuela. She noted that hes working in congress that she can control to make sure that neil and nancy pelosi and chuck schumer, many of the prominent president ial candidates, no, no, no. I think because theyre dealing with other things like our government trying to stay open so much happened do you find it odd that it is terrific whats going on there and a lot of them are problems with countries with more riches that you can shake a stick and and has more problems . Democrats and republicans feel the same about the urgency of this issue. Democrats are worried about the things going on here at home and they have more control over. Neil is that a testament that you can overpromise and eventually run out of money . Socialists, its no longer in fact a dirty word, i would submit to you among democrats. I dont disagree with you. Neil youre okay with that . I dont disagree. Its no longer a sunday school word. Right. You can say, im a socialist and get a fair hearing among democrats. Socialists in this country, democratic socialists, believe in authoritarianism. If they empower government, good things will happen. We know look what happened to roger stone over the weekend. The fbi came to his door and all he was accused of hes not even been convicted. He needed to be apprehended for civil accusations. Yet apprehended at the point of a gun. Government does its work at the point of again. Thats the problem. Neil this particular issue, its the notion that im kidding with antoine there. Hes a good sport. But this notion that you can keep making big promises and big promises and eventually run out of money. This started happening with hugo chavez. They had a lot of oil riches and pissed it away. Gone. Talking to millennials, this is what socialism looks like. This is not alexandria ocasiocortez. This is not Bernie Sanders. Its venezuela. And talking to the young people in venezuela, i took spanish licenses with venezuelans. The shocking them is hearing them telling me about going to the Grocery Store and no food. Just salt. Thats what you get when you have a socialist society. Its a fair question to pose. Neil so is that the american extreme . Its disappointing to see Bernie Sanders and aoc talk about american intervention. This is a fundamental human rights issue. They pretend to stand up for the oppressed, but this is a dict e dictatorship that has starved their people. I love these two ladies and i love sparring with them but they make the assumption that aoc and sanders speak for the democratic party. Its bad neil but so many prominent democrats are talking about a wealth tax, a higher tax i think that what i do think to a point you made, democrats believe in strengthening the government so the government can carry out some of the responsibilities that we have neil are you as a young man worried that youll be saddled with all this debt that your party by the way republicans too dont talk about. Im more worried what im dealing with today and the issues neil im telling you tomorrow is trouble. My every day focus is to pay my Student Loans today. I worry about i learned to live one day at a time. Neil in venezuela they ran out of money thinking it was ant worry until it was. Its not a longterm worry we have more issues today more issues today that could damage government has physical power. We cede much power to the government. The reason you have neil were trying to help you, antoine. I want to look after you. You have high Student Loans is because of obamacare, the federal government took over Student Loans and overcharged students i have high Student Loans because the First Generation College students like myself, no one addressed the issue of College Affordability until democrats its hilarious to talk about College Affordability. A really good example when we talk about free college, for instance, youve seen tuition sky rocket and youve seen a lot of administrations that is unnecessary. Neil were trying to help antoine but he doesnt want to be helped. If you dont want to be helped pray for me. Vote republican. Neil thanks very much. Apple is out after the bell with earnings and revenues that beat the street and sales of products that beat the street as well and giving a slightly more than expected upbeat forecast enough to propel the stock about 2. 5 after hours trading. Neil all right. Probably among the more closely if not the most scrutinized numbers. Apple lifting the stock right now. We have more on the significant on that. Alan, what do you think . Its all about apple. Everybody keeps an eye on this as a barometer of the market. Obviously has a large impact. If you look at the indexes, its heavily weighted. The rest of the market has bounced back. Apple has been stuck awaiting this earnings. They were not disappointed. Were seeing initial reaction that is positive. Lets see if they can build. A stock stuck between 140 and 160. Its on a bounce here. Im optimistic and i think everybody will realize how much money apple makes every quarter. Neil everyone is waiting for technology to come back. Apple was a dragging soldier. This could be a sign that it will have a comeback month. What do you make of it . Its up slightly because theyve been lowering expectations for month. The core business has stopped. This is the first time the growth was down since they launched the phone over 2007, i believe it was. So this is not good but better than what we expected. So again, its great for the stock. But this creates problems. Luckily theyre squeezing money out of the services to the installed user base. Earnings, were about a third of the way through the process. Most of them are beating the estimates by a large amount. How do you judge earning season thus far . Think can be a relief rally, a secondary catalyst for the market comp back after the low in december. We were waiting to see what happens here. They still sold 50 million phones. A lot of phones here. Apple is still doing very well. We cant state that enough. The revenue was more than 80 billion. Yes, they knocked down expectations but thats what this game is sometimes. Lets see what the next step is. Id rather be bullish on that stock at these levels. We have come back to where we were in 2017. We broke out above 150. Lets see if that holds. Its at a discount and a healthy company. Neil any freeze to worry about with the government again . What do you think, jonas . They are having some problems a broad. These companies are not growing quite the way they used to. The stock thats why the nasdaq is down. It wasnt that bad but not good enough to turn it around. Its still apple. Neil youre right. And bacon is a very popular item in this country. Doesnt mcdonalds know it . Deidra bolton. Thats right. Speaking of healthy. Im on sixth avenue and 28th street at a mcdonalds. You can get a mcflurry with bacon in this hour if you want. Were in the middle of bacon hour. So when we come back, ill tell you a little bit more, what is behind mcdonalds strategy. This hour theyre giving free bacon to anyone and everyone, from 4 00 to 5 00 p. M. No matter where you are in the country, free bacon. Our guys here are keen on it. Bacon you like bacon . Its small. Its tiny. Enjoy. Neil thats fine. Its interesting. Mcdonalds has discovered as is wendys and burger king, go bacon and you never look back. A lot of you are thinking, neil, dont touch that bacon because we know you had heart surgery. Its very bad. I might point out that my cardiologist at the time and the fellow that did the heart surgery and the keeper of these very embarrassing pictures at the time said everything is okay in moderation. What he didnt realize when that picture was snapped, in my other hand i had a big wad of bacon there. Thats the cardiologist assistant saying thats not a good idea. What is going on here with this . Even if you do it in moderation as my cardiologist said at the time. This is big, deidra. This is big, neil. Were in the middle or just getting towards the end of bacon hour here at this particular mcdonalds. 28th street and 6th avenue. People said did you come here nor the bacon . Right now you can get whatever you want, whatever mcdonalds sells, if you want a mcflurry with bacon, you get it. Apple buy with bacon, you get it. Whatever is on the menu, you can get free bacon. Its nationwide. The idea is just to have some fun. I talked to one of the two people in management. They said this seemed like a fun thing to do. The middle of winter. Everybody is cold and borderline hibernating. The goal is to drive sales. So mcdonalds will begin to order or promote more heavily. The quarter bacon with cheese, big mac with cheese and cheese fries with bacon. That is the purpose of this. We know one of the competitors, wendys for example offering free baconator cheeseburgers all wee. Mcdonalds will have their numbers tomorrow. Its festive down here. Ive talked to people saying did you come for the special hour . What a lot of people said they didnt come here specifically to have bacon added on to their orders but now theyre here, ive seen a few people Walking Around with some bacon strips. So even one young lady that come in for a coffee drink got a piece. Neil you can stir it in. This is ailing to you. Youre one of the healthiest people i know. Youre a cardiologists dream. Mine is having palpitations watching me do this report. Deidra, thanks very much.
