If it means giving that shot of economy and reductions in income tax and i think thats exactly what this economy needs right now to get back on his feet. I think we need to be cognizant of the fact that money doesnt grow on trees, even for the federal government. And when you create a tax reduction youre obviously creating a hole and that could obviously create a circumstantial increase in the deficit. If we are going prioritize these two things, i would say that individuals have reductions should take precedent over Corporate Tax reductions. It should be done in a more saved and incremental manner. Again on the individual front, elimination of the alternative minimum tax at amt is well overdue and i think with the simplification of the tax code from 7 to 3 brackets for individual, you know, taxpayers, i think is also we just need to be careful of the fact we got put money in peoples pockets first. We cant lift the bandaid off all at once or we might blow a hole and create an even bigger deficit. There are arms on the chair ooit im sitting in for fear we will fall on the floor and no offense, democrat, and worrying about the deficit. And worried about the federal debt. Weve got to pay for what we do, including tax cuts bp. Exactly, jonathan. But ill bring it back to that. These tax plans, you know, people talk about 150 dies tax reform for companies and individuals but these tax plans take so long to write for that very reason to make sure they dont cost that much money. Individual taxes are way too high. And we still have death tax on the books. And americans think that is fundamentally unfair. That does need to change , too. This is one area where i say im more moderate and ill tell you right now, we eliminated the estate tax in ohio. About three or four years ago. And it has made a significant improvement particularly for those that have Small Businesses for example. But again he, its got to be paid for somehow. And jonathan talked about doing the Corporate Tax first in order to raise the money, you bring that corporate money back from overseas at an even lower than 15 rate, maybe 10 rate that gives democrats money to spend on Something Like infrastructure. What do you think about that . The Corporate Tax is really where you get the biggest bang for the buck. You look at federal receipts and it is about 10 of federal receipts is all this the Corporate Income tax brings in. With the highest in the world we bring that down to 10 or 15 . Theres a reason that burger king is a Canadian Company and not an American Company isnt the fact that canadians like whoppers that much more than we do in america because tax rules are pushing American Companies overseas. And finally people who are parttime workers and saw their hours cut so that employers could evade the mandate. Over 200 Million People people have had to change insurers repeatedly because insurers left a lot of these markets in the exchanges. You have people who have less doctor choices and doctors dont take insurance any more. In terms of the repeal and replace, what do you start with . You have 20 Million People who have gotten Health Insurance under this law. So are 20 Million People going to lose it . No. That is the myth that unfortunately is scaring so many people in the country. Of the 20 Million People who gained coverage for the first time under this law, 16 million are enrolled in medicaid. The Public Program for low income residents. Certain states expanded medicaid and welcomed these 16 million m repealed, certain states wont do a 180. Those people are safe. That leaves 5 million additional people who gained coverage, they are enrolled in obama care plans, private health plans, and they are technically at risk. 5 million, not 20 million. Even those 5 million have something to gain from repeal because Donald Trumps plan for example will help most of them get much more affordable coverage. How . Those 5 Million People could are people getting subsidies . The subsidies will go away. So you give them a refundable tax credit . Here is the problem. They get a subsidy and technically they are covered but they still cant see a doctor because even the cheapest plan has a 6,000 deductible. They cant come up with the cash to see the doctor. The preexisting conditions qualify thats the most important. Do you keep it in youre in the Trump Administration . The people with preexisting conditions will be protected but in a much fairer way. The Obama Health Law does it in a very coercive way. It takes people in the individual market, only small number of them and forces them into the same insurance pool with people who need ten times as much health care and healthy people, you have to pay the same price. So none of their premium ever goes to cover their health care needs. All of it is sucked up to care for the chronically ill under the replacement plans. Chronically ill people are sold insurance. Insurance companies are allowed to charge them more. But then those people get a big subsidy from the taxpayers. The cost of their care is spread over the entire nation. Instead of being dumped on a very small number of people in the individual market. Youre going to see individual premiums and deductibles go way down when this change occurred. Good to see you. And it is a guy that was supposed to have been deported after a dwi and the federal authorities never deported him. But back when i was a felony judge here in texas, i remember one case where a guy came in and he didnt speak english. But he had had i think eight or nine dwis. Well this time he was in a wreck and caused a massive damage, harmed a lot of people, fortunately didnt kill anybody. And i saw that he had never been deported. So i thought well at least i will get him out of the way where he wont be killing or harming others. So i sent him to prison. Nine dwis. And he is back within six months. I said, how are you back . He said, well, 30 days after i sent him to prison, then the federal authorities got him, deported him. As soon as they drove away, he crossed back over the river and he was back having another dwi and hurting people. Its got to stop and thats one of the biggest reasons, i think, that donald trump was elected. People have said, its time to enforce the law. Congressman, it is great to see you as always. Little bit of rain around the great lakes in toward the northeast central part of the country is looking great for friday. We are going to watch however, a series of storms moving in across the west. Thats going to be our big problem area. A lot of rain and really significant mountain snow. Especially the sierra nevadas and in toward the cascades. Parts of the cascades maybe up to three feet of snow over the weekend. Really we would have so much drought out across the west. Its good news. Pretty significant precipitation there. Seeing snow in the rockies as well. And as you see here, this precipitation through the weekend, really quite light. Not causing any big problems on the roadways. And certainly not for any kind of shopping. So here you go. Here is our official forecast. Things are looking good across most of the eastern part of the country. The west where we see San Francisco. You have to bring your umbrella with you. Saturday if youre heading home, conditions looking pretty good. Maybe a few delays with rain showers in towards the San Francisco area. East coast is going to be looking great. Central part of the country looking great as well. Temperature wise we warm up a couple of degrees towards the plains then cool things down with a series of storms coming in across parts of the west. One last thing now that were getting toward the beginning of december, the official outlook for december through february. This comes to us from noaa, southern half of the country expecting to see above average temperatures. Same goes for areas of new england. Northern half of the country looking to see at least average chances of an average winter as far as temperatures go. More precipitation december through february crossing Northern Tier and dry across the south. Unfortunately because we need the rain, but that is the official forecast from noaa. All right, back to you. Thank you, rick. President elect trump says infrastructure will be a top priority where reports say he is looking at 1 trillion plan. Little commentator danielle and republican strategist Giano Caldwell joining me now. Giano, 1 trillion, really . Yeah. A very big plan but i think the way he pays for it is a couple Different Things here. He has said he is going to close the very lucrative tax loop holes which many people have been taking advantage of. In addition he says he wants to lower the tax rates for businesses and some paying as high as p 5 to about 15 . And also eliminate some of these billions of dollars in regulations. I think thats important. I think the plan isnt perfect and i must admit that. However, considering the fact that we have a Republican House and senate and mr. Trump is not an ideal log, i think he will be open to the ideas from democrats and republicans and at the end of the day, this is only framework. So were going to be able to get something passed and be able to get those more than 143,000 bridges repair and about 25 Million People back to work. Just so everyone knows where i stand on this, every time president obama brought up Infrastructure Spending, in almost every speech over the economy over eight years, i would lamb bat of hast him abou. There was over 300 billion infrastructure bill passed into law at the end of last year. In terms of whats the rush, other than a campaign promise, at spending more money on infrastructure . I think you hit the nail on the head. Thats it. A campaign promise. The core of trumps economic message was about jobs. Bringing jobs back. And so i dont see how he backs away from this. And i think he has a lot of problems because a Republican Congress as you well know, they share your, i guess, disdane for large spending. What is the plan . I think giano touched on it. We dont know what the plan is, other than infrastructure. And we know a little bit they have thrown out the idea about publicprivate partnerships where the private Company Comes in, gets tax breaks and then takes a toll, but that doesnt really work say, insffrastructure that doest produce revenue. What has been said is this project the infrastructure would be neutral. Whats important for people to keep in mind, its framework. This is a plan but the thing is, we have a separate but equal branchs of government. We will have ryan and Mitch Mcconnells office looking at the leadership looking at this heavily as well as those that chair the different transportation committees. What we have is a willingness to do something to put folks back to work. When you say infrastructurewise thats the first thing most people look at, because those are the easiest jobs to fill. Some people can get those skills relatively easily versus a Technology Skill or something you have to go to school for. Danielle, president elect trump, he is a builder. Thats his business is real estate and ed building. It would make sense for him to focus on this. But he needs buyin from republicans and democrats. Democrats have a problem if this is tax breaks to developers and builders, possibly for projects that are already under way. As you say, the market likes some kinds of projects and doesnt like other kinds of projects. Bridges and roads and tunnels are public goods. Whether they are Revenue Generating or not can make a big difference. We need government involved to make the decisions that are best for the people and not necessarily the difference one thing that nobody, not a democrat, not a republican will ever talk about is raising the gas tax, which hadnt gone up in more than 20 years, the federal gas tax. There was democrats on the hill that recently were talking about that as an opportunity. I dont think thats something the new Incoming Administration has an appetite for. However, we gotta keep this in mind. Theres a lot of folks that have been out of the job market for a number of years. We havent seen job growth this low about that 2 under president obama since the 1970s. When it comes to us creating jobs, we have to look at where we can better benefit the public. I think someone mentioned the public good. Thats what the bridges and roads we gotta keep that in mind and continue to keep an open mind to a new administration that may not have all the experts. And shes keeping him grounded where theres going to be so many changes and so much going on. To run root him in the middle of the school year, i think, would not do him justice. And i think that shes making her child come first. And i think thats what a parent does. Other people would argue that other first families have moved their children at young ages down to washington, d. C. After the inauguration. They turned out just fine. Thats fine. However, its her choice. She wants to keep him here. There are reasons that maybe theyre not talking about that she feels he should stay where he is. And i think that as a barparent shes doing whats best for her child. Again, im not going to argue, yes, of course, obviously, everybody has done things at the white house they have wanted to in years past. They have moved. However, she has decided to keep him here because she believes thats whats best for her child. What about the scrutiny that shes going to face as a mother over the next at least four years . How do you manage through that . How do you protect him, assuming that he enters a new school in washington, d. C. . New york city is a very liberal place. Probably is equally liberal as washington, d. C. I dont know if thats a concern. How do you manage through that constant scrutiny, even as a mother and woman . I think she has a lot of work ahead of her. Every turn she makes, everything she does, everyone is watching her, everyone is looking at her. She needs as a parent to do whats best for her child. From what i can see, shes been an incredible mother. She really puts her childs needs first and lets see what happens. She needs to protect her child, because thats shes a parent first. Everything else is secondary. Her child right now is her main concern. He is in fourth grade. He is young. Socially, academically. She knows again what she believes is best for her child. I dont think anybody is there to judge her whether thats right or wrong. I personally think shes making the right decision. But, of course, there are going to be people that are going to say shes making the wrong decision. Is there anything im asking this not just about being in the white house, but is there anything can you protect your child too much . You can insulate your child too much . You know, yes, there is an answer to that, yes, you can, insulate your child too much. However, this child, no matter where the child goes, no matter what the child does, everybody is going to be looking. No matter what she does, she needs to do her best or they need to do their best to protect. He is still just a child. Look at all the obamas did a great job i think with the girls.
