Telling fox news that negotiations have been under way all day. The state of play well told right now is that senator sanders may wind up being the individual who once Hillary Clinton has secured the 3,082 votes she needs for the nomination, sanders may move for the nomination she needs. Some state delegations are still witnesses battles over the process, over their bruised feelings in general. That was evidenced this morning as you can see it erupted into what observers called a circus atmosphere. The sanders forces feel theyre being shut down, not being permitted to vote on platforms, having their signs being taken down. Were told the senators name will be placed in nomination and the roll call will see his votes tallied state by state. In terms of you know we dont the roll call, how that all plays out, well let some of this happen organically. How that actually all unfolds, well you know, ill let that happen on the floor. Sanders supporters say the clinton operation is controlling virtually everything happening here in philadelphia. Some sanders supporters acknowledge they are not near as well organized. Sanders has been texting and emailing supporters to devote their energies now to electing Hillary Clinton. Exactly which state will put Hillary Clinton over the top tonight depends on a number of factors. Whether some states pass during the roll call and how uncommitted super delegates are countdown. Thats one thing that has always eluded me, stewart, basic math. Back to you. James rosen on the floor. And now, to the depraved isis attack on a church in france. Two terrorists forcing an 86yearold priest to kneel. Then they slit his throat and they filmed it. The attackers were later killed outside that church. To chief intelligence correspondent on what we know about the terrorists. Within the last hour the Associated Press now reporting the name of the young man who murdered the catholic priest. Hes identified as 19yearold adele care kermiche. He was arrested for trying to travel to syria and put under surveillance with an electronic bracelet but for five hours each day was turned off, allowing him to leave without surveillance. They shouted allahu akbar as they stormed the church and forced the priest Jacques Hamel onto his knees before murdering him. The Islamic State posted a claim of responsibility online calling the men soldiers of the caliphate. The church had appeared on a socalled isis hit list along with thousands of other sites. Today the white house condemned the attack and offered help. France and the United States share a commitment to protecting religious liberty for those of all faiths. We commend french Law Enforcement for their quick and divisive response and stand ready to assist the french authorities in their investigation Going Forward. Reporter only a review of the mens social media, phone records as well as Home Computers will show whether they were inspired by isis or ordered by isis in iraq and syria to execute the priest. Katherine, thank you. 61 speeches, not one mention of isis or the threat of global terrorism during day one of the Democratic Convention. The g. O. P. Pointing it out. Plitt fact confirming it. Is this a problem . With us now former massachusetts republican senator scott brown, terrorism analyst wa lead fast lis and david clark. Senator, do you think that the democrats will be forced to address the issue of terror after what weve seen happening today in france . Not if john kerry has his way. Remember its about air conditioners and refrigerators is the greater threat than isis. Its almost laughable, stewart. Ive been here and obviously for a couple of days, completely different than what we heard last week in cleveland. Theyre not talking about it because its the socalled elephant in the room to use a pun there because it doesnt fit the narrative, it doesnt fit the narrative that everythings great, great, great around the world. The economy is great, theres no problem with isis. But heres the difference. The American People understand whats going on. My heart and soul goes out to the priest and to france. Theyre being attacked brutally and what are we doing . Were really doing nothing except talk, talk, talk. Sheriff clark, as the pace of these attacks has obviously picked up, have you seen any change in policy here at home towards whats happening . None, stewart, and you wont see it as long as barack obama remains the commanderinchief. Look, the world is on fire. Everybody is being threatened by the Islamic State and the threat of radical islamic and the left their head in the sand as it relates to that. Until we get a new commanderinchief, i dont see much change in policy. Wa lead, you are a trump advisor. I want to refer directly to the situation thats unfolding in france. It seems that they may well be in europe close to confrontation between locally born people and muslims who are living in that country. Are we close to civil strife in france after what we saw today in that church in france . The europeans are already in an urban confrontation. These are not just tens but hundreds of jihadists that are striking almost every day. What concerns me is going back to yesterday and today, that the Democratic Convention didnt even mention isis threats. But i would question another matter. They didnt even mention the socalled one achievement, quote unquote, of the obama administration, the iran deal. Theyre not even talking about that because they know that that includes is a problem. Wa lead, what exactly would donald trump do on day one if he were elected president about this situation thats unfolding . He has been mentioning what he would do over the first 100 days. Im not sure about the first and second day, but certainly directions are going to be very clear. Number one, campaign, not to contain but to dismantle isis. Number two, a new strategy for Homeland Security. Number three, designating the ideology. And number four, starting the review of the iran deal. That is clear. Scott brown, can the democrats continue to walk not walk away from the issue but to avoid it . Can they continue to do that . Stewart, first of all, what hes going to do, hes going to scare the dickens out of them just like reagan did when iran held our hostages for over a year. So thats the first thing hes going to do because hes very serious and this president is not. Can they keep avoiding it . Sure. Theyre in na na land here. You see its complete chaos. They dont show it but when youre on the floor and you speak to the berne eie supporte theyre not happy. Theyre continually being put down by the hillary factions who control everything. Dont forget, theyre also honoring the mother of a young boy who was apparently killed by a police officer, was killed by a police officer, but hes not theyre not honoring the Actual Police officers themselves who put their lives on the line every day. Thats just abhorrent as well. This is dysfunctional to say the least. Sheriff clark, what do you think about the speakers tonight, inclung the mother of Michael Brown . I think its a shame. Compare and contrast that to the rncs theme of make america safe again. The theme tonight is compassion for criminals. Theyre holding up people who were involved in criminal behavior, assaulting Law Enforcement officers. Many of them were armed. Some of them dont even fit here. Trayvon martin was not a police use of force, neither was sandra bland who hung herself tragically that is in a county jail. These are being held up as symbols as the 21st century civil rights struggle which tells me theyre scraping the bottle of the barrel. As to donald trump and terror, he has a sense of urgency. The democrats keep pooh poohing it as fear mongering. No, he has a sense of urgency about the threat of this radical islamic terrorism. He will appoint military commanders who understand it. He will listen to them. Hell appoint a secretary of Homeland Security that will do a lot better job of protecting the homeland with a different model than the current one, jeh johnson, under barack obama. Scott brown, walid phares, all of you, thank you very much. The dnc is about to gavel in ahead of the roll call. Bret baier will be joining us later this hour for that. First, think the email controversy is over now that Debbie Wasserman schultz is out . Think about. New emails emerging that could be more damaging. Mike emanuel getting a read on those. Then reaction from dr. Ben carson. Hes next. Lets feed him to the sharks squuuuack, lets feed him to the sharks yay and take all of his gold and take all of his gold ya and hide it from the crew ya. . Squuuuack, theyre all morons anyway i never said that. They all smell bad too. No you all smell wonderful i smell bad if youre a parrot, you repeat things. Its what you do. If you want to save fifteen percent or more on car insurance, you switch to geico. Its what you do. Squuuuack, its what you do. Now its war, they band i want them dead lves. The fleas and ticks . Their whole gang. We can do that. Only bravecto kills fleas ticks for up to 12 weeks with one tasty chew. Starts killing fleas in two hours and kills nearly 100 in under twelve. And its fda approved. Bravecto is for dogs 6 months of age or older. Dont worry, princess, well settle the score. Tonight we ride, with bravecto ask your vet about 12week protection with bravecto. To the dnc where theyre about to gavel in. New developments about those leaked emails are coming out. Turns out Donna Brazile, the woman who replaced Debbie Wasserman schultz was also bashing Bernie Sanders. To mike emanuel with the latest. The interim head of the dnc has clearly had issues with Bernie Sanders and his campaign. According to those recentlyleaked emails. Donna brazile wrote after Bernie Sanders two months ago endorsed outgoing dnc chair Debbie Wasserman schultzs primary opponent, quote, i saw it this am. How stupid. Dont know how to respond to bernie anymore. Then there was an interview request and Donna Brazile wrote, quote, i have no intentions of touching this, why . Because i will cuss out the sanders camp. This has created tensions between a variety of democrats heading into this convention and emotions ran high for Bernie Sanders and his supporters last night. Sanders received a rock star welcome and hes also received an apology from brazile for what was said in those emails. We all know that the partys emails were hacked. We know that theyre being selectively leaked. We know that theyre being tampered with. So i do believe that as a party we have to make sure that the Material Information that gets out is not harmful to the party and the partys opportunity to win the election. The emails also reveal there was an effort to hide from reporters how money from the Hillary Victory Fund was being distributed. The Clinton Campaign clearly did not want to essentially tell reporters how much was being distributed to state parties. Shes had a number of high profile fundraisers with celebrity supporters but didnt want to give out exactly how much money was being trickled down to the state parties. Big money in politics has been a key issue for sanders and his supporters. Stuart . Mark emanuel, thank you very much. Now reaction from former g. O. P. President ial candidate dr. Ben carson who joins us now. On friday when wikileaks released this batch of emails, they said this is just part one of our new hillary leaks series. Doesnt look like this email scandal, this latest one, is going away. No, i think this is just the beginning of it. You know, its a symptom of a much deeper problem, and that is dishonesty and collusion. Theres a proverb that says if a king listens to lies, all his servants will be wicked. Basically what its saying is if you just winkwink at this stuff, everybodys going to say i can do it, too. Were losing the moral fabric of our country when we ignore things like this. Last night during the convention, speaker after speaker, you could see them just glossing over this, oh, this is nothing, it doesnt mean anything. What message is that sending to our children . Do you apply your analysis to both sides of the fence, democrats and republicans . Absolutely. One of the things that i discovered during my run for presidency is how corrupt the system is. Everybody just kind of accepts it. I believe, quite frankly, the democrats are more corrupt, but im not giving the republicans a pass either. You look at what they tried to do to donald trump. They just werent nearly as effective. Dr. Carson, on the lefthand side of our screen the viewers are looking at a live demonstration under way in philadelphia. Black lives matter at the front there. I see a sign saying, hillary, delete yourself. That appears to be led by black lives matter. Several hundred im not sure of the entire number there but its certainly a large number of people marching on the Convention Center in philadelphia. Dr. Carson, what do you make of that demonstration . I think a lot of the people on the left actually do have some degree of morals and some real values. And the reason that they were flocking to Bernie Sanders is because he was a manifestation of that. Now they dont have him to go to. Theyre not ready to jump on the hillary band wagon because a lot of these issues are not republican or democrat issues. This is a matter of integrity. There, believe it or not, are people with integrity on both sides. And im hoping that they will come to the point where they start analyzing the situation for themselves, recognizing that america is at a pivotal position. We are either going to be a country like the one that was planned, of, for, and by the people, or a country that is of, for and by the government, moving more toward a socialist bent which will destroy the opportunities for those coming after us. Do we really want to do that . Thats not a republican or a democrat issue. That is an american issue. Last night the first lady, Michelle Obama, referred to the white house built by slaves. The white house spokesman was asked about this today, and heres his response. On the first ladys speech last night, even though she had a pretty warm reception in the hall there, some critics have responded to her comments about slaves having built the white house, saying that it was somehow a divisive thing to say. Does the white house see it that way . No. No. Whats your response . Was it divisive . I dont think it was meant to be divisive. I think she was saying it to demonstrate how far we had come, what the progress was. So often we look for the negative component in what someone says. We need to get away from that, i do believe. Dr. Carson, we know that youre a practicing christian and im sure youve been listening to the news all day about this atrocity that took place in france earlier with the murder of a priest during mass in the church. That was a provocative and depraifed act. If you were addressing a large gathering of democrats this evening, what would you say to them about that attack . I would say it gives you an indication of the forces that are aligned against us and that we cannot continue to stick our head in the sand. We must declare war on isis, and then we must adopt a proper attitude and do the right things to actually eliminate them. They are our enemy. There is no accomodation with them. We have to destroy them. Thats all there is to it. Dr. Ben carson, thank you very much for joining us today, sir. We appreciate it. Always a pleasure. With polls tightening, guess who just said Hillary Clinton should be worrying. No, not donald trump. Try the democratic governor of california, jerry brown. This just got interesting. Why pause to take a pill . Or stop to find a bathroom . Cialis for daily use is approved to treat both erectile dysfunction and the urinary symptoms of bph, like needing to go frequently, day or night. Tell your doctor about all your medical conditions and medicines, and ask if your heart is healthy enough for sex do not take cialis if you take nitrates for chest pain, or adempas for pulmonary hypertension, as it may cause an unsafe drop in blood pressure. Do not drink alcohol in excess. Side effects may include headache, upset stomach, delayed backache or muscle ache. To avoid longterm injury, get medical help right away for an erection lasting more than four hours. If you have any sudden decrease or loss in hearing or vision, or any symptoms of an allergic reaction, stop taking cialis and get medical help right away. Ask your doctor about cialis and a 200 savings card stop taking cialis and get medical help right away. Maybe. The skate park today . You can make it grrreat kelloggs frosted flakes gives you the sweet spark to go all in and let your great out. Theyre grrreat our producers have just sent us this message from jeff weaver who is the former Campaign Manager for Bernie Sanders. There is an upcoming roll call vote and theres a great deal of question about demonstrations from Bernie Sanders supporters. Jeff weaver, former Campaign Manager for mr. Bernie sanders, he says expect a full roll call vote. He was then asked, well, will vermont vote to buy acclimation. He repeated, expect a full roll call vote. Maybe that means that their voices will be heard at the roll call vote which comes up later. Next case, new signs democrats are worrying as the latest polls show the race between Hillary Clinton and donald trump is narrowing. Democratic governor of california, jerry brown, telling the hill she, Hillary Clinton, should be worried. Then you have clintons own Campaign Manager sending out a fundraising email in which he writes poll after poll is showing that trump has been eating away at our lead, and after his convention, hes erased it entirely. Reaction now from former democrat Polster Pat Goodell and g. O. P. Polster lee carter. Pat, should hillary be worried about what shes seeing in the polls . I think so. They should have been worried long before. I think theyve got a problem because so many voters who are looking at the present situation and who want things to change and who feel the country is not only in the wrong direction and in decline, show an inclination to be maybe for trump. I think were seeing that. The sanders voters after this week, i dont know where theyre going. Well pat, do you think that money would solve hillarys polling problem . Theyre appealing for more money. Would more money fix it . No, i dont think money is their problem. I think theyre going to have all the money they need and she will do whatever they have to do. The fact is they spent 40 to 50 million the last month or so in the key Battle Ground states and lost ground while trump wasnt spending anything. This is not an election about money. Its an election about message. Im not sure they grasp that. Lee carter, you look at the reaction of people when they see political issues. You gauge their reaction. As i understand it, you have seen the reaction of independents which has gone pro trump, is that accurate . Very accurate. I was astonished last week given all the attention that was going to the Republican Convention how innocents are reacting positively to all the messages, not just donald trump, his children, the vets, everything they heard. He really had a huge impact and it ended with a big bump. So far here in philadelphia what weve been seeing is that the innocents are not necessarily siding with the democrats. Theyre saying the democrats seem a little out of touch, that theyre somewhat aleet, that theyre not really about the people. I think hillary should be very concerned. Are there any issues which have been raised at the Democratic Convention, lee carter, any issues which have failed to ignite democrats . You know, i think that what were seeing right now is that the Democratic Party really wants to go further left. They want somebody whos more progressive. Hillary by her v. P. Choice has been pulling to the center more. I dont think thats what they want. I think thats part of the reason were seeing the bernie folks ignite so much. All of the events around the Dnc Wikileaks thing is really coming to the front. People are raw, emotional and theyre not necessarily on board. So i think its going to be a big, big problem going through this week and seeing if they go through a full roll call, even though it might have seen last night that they were coming back together again, i think this is a big sign that there are a lot of problems within the party. Pat, we heard from Bernie Sanders former Campaign Manager jeff weaver, he said it twice, expect a full roll call. Now, does that mean hes expecting the bernie supporters to stand up and make their voices heard, pat goodell . Yeah, i think they are. I think they understand now theyve given away so much that if they give away anymore, hes going to lose his credibility. They were elected. The voters cast votes. We know it was a rigged system and theyre going to let it go. What i think is interesting and the real test, Bernie Sanders, the clinton people were trying to get him on the floor with the vermont delegation to make a nomination by act claim makes. The latest word i heard is that sanders is staying up in his seat in the gallery in the boxes. If thats the case, i expect you hear the sanders people, whatever signs of unity last night, youll get a different reaction today as we go through this roll call and with bill clinton tonight. Lee carter, you got the sense of the convention that the Bernie Sanders are not going to be quiet . Weve got 30 seconds until roll call. Yeah, what i think is im sorry, so gavel. I think theyre not going to be quiet. I think Elizabeth Warren when she spoke about the system being rigged last night, meaning it was for the republicans, everybody said you know whats rigged, the dnc is rigged against us. I think the bernie supporters are rightly upset and were going to hear from them right now. It is 4 30 precisely eastern time, time for the gavel for the convention for the second day. Bret baier on the floor. What have we got . In just moments, stu, youre going to have marshall fudge. She will gavel this convention into order. Once that starts, you will have the roll call soon thereafter, after the pledge of allegiance and the colors and the National Anthem. Youre going to have tom harkin, iowa senator, speak to this hall. Here you see the beginning that we saw yesterday as the convention gets under way. We will watch and listen in briefly as theyre gavelled in. Announcer ladies and gentlemen, please welcome chair of the 2016 Democratic National convention, representative marcia fudge. The second session of the 47th National Convention of the Democratic Party will now come to order. Welcome, delegates, alternates, Standing Committee members, special guests, and other friends. Members of the news media, guests from around the world and our fellow americans to our deliberations. 26 years ago today the americans with disabilities act was signed into law. There you have it. Gavel to order. Representative marcia fudge, democrat, ohio, getting things moving officially for the second day. Bret baier still with us. Bret, i have to ask you about what we heard from jeff weaver, that he is expecting a full roll call vote. He said it twice. What do you read into that . Stuart, it means that theyre going to take all the states alphabetically, theyre going to go down and theyre going to get all of the votes on the record. At some point you will have the magic number needed, 2300 what is the number . 40 . 23, 82. You will have the amount of delegates. Its probably around rhode island, south dakota, but theyre not going to keep tally. Theyre going to get every state on the books until at the very end youre going to have vermont. Theyre going to pass and then go at the very end. I think what is being talked about is Bernie Sanders possibly coming down and then saying by acclimation all of the states together cast those delegates for Hillary Clinton. So first theyre going to count everyones vote and in the words of the aides to Hillary Clinton to make sure this is not rigged and nothing is happening behind the scenes and then theyre going to have unity, they say, when vermont and, theyre hoping, Bernie Sanders makes the acclimation call. We are going to see people walk up to the microphone in front of each state and they will have an opportunity. Will Bernie Sanders delegates have an opportunity to say im with Bernie Sanders in a loud raucous voice and make that point known state by state . That is the question, and the question is whether theres a big outpouring, whether theres a big disturbance on the floor. Each state depending on how they went in the election will make their case this many delegates for each candidate. Remember, Bernie Sanders received 40 of the pledge delegates out there. So there are a lot of delegates on this floor who voted for Bernie Sanders and those states went to Bernie Sanders. Well hear from them. And we will check back with you when the action begins all over again. Bret baier, well be back shortly. Thank you. Bernie sanders speaking last night. He did indeed call for unity. But as we wait for the upcoming roll call vote, many sanders supporters are still not happy. To nevada delegate and Bernie Sanders supporter, angie more ellie. Are you prepared, angie, now, to support vigorously and enthusiastically Hillary Clinton . No, sir, im not. What are you going to do . Im going to advocate for what we i believe we all want, and that is a Third Party System and a fourth party for us to be looking at so we have different options other than the two wholly unpopular options that we are going to be left with today. Are you going to make a lot of noise tonight in the Convention Center . I think thats kind of what im known for. I think there are a lot of people who have been making a lot of noise in the Convention Center and not all of it has been covered. We really do want our voices heard and i think that has been heard throughout this convention. The tone was definitely different in our morning delegation meeting so i think were going to continue on doing that today for the rest of the week. Are you not placated to some degree by what senator sanders said last night . He did ask for the Convention Delegates to unify Hillary Clinton. That does not placate you . Are you still mad . It does not placate me. I think the Washington Post said that Bernie Sanders started a revolution that he cant put the brakes on. We understand why people like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren come out and tell us we need to stand united behind this party. It would be a very uncomfortable session coming up if they did not do that. Were not going to vote for somebody who we dont want to be president , and i think that a lot of the people in the Bernie Sanders delegation just dont wish for that option and were going to exercise our right. I dont care who they parade in front of us to tell us who to vote for in november, were going to vote with our consciousness how weve been advocating for him this last year and a half. A message was delivered to you last night by one of the celebrities on the platform who pointed out and said, i believe, youre ridiculous. Roll tape and well see it again. Can i just say to the bernie or bust people, youre going ridiculous. That doesnt make any difference to you . She said you are being ridiculous. I mean, i have to tell you, as a jewish woman that i kind of felt like my jewish santa claus, i found out that she was not real last night. That was a little heartbreaking to have to experience that. A lot of us were really holding out hope that people like her were not going to force us and say those words to us, you have to vote for Hillary Clinton. We had hoped that people like her would go in the direction of jill west and other candidates like that. That was kind of heartbreaking. Again, people have their preferences and some of us prefer not to vote for her. Angie, what do you say to those people who say, look, your activity on the floor today and your intention of voting maybe for a Third Party Candidate is simply an invitation to put donald trump in the white house . Thats what a lot of people are saying. Does it make no difference to you at all . I think the invitation of putting donald trump in the white house was not giving Bernie Sanders the nomination for the Democratic Party. I think that if they truly believe that we needed to vote blue no matter who and if they believed we need to do everything in our power to keep trump from the nomination, our super delegates would have voted for the one candidate thats polling higher consistently by a very large margin than donald trump and thats unfortunately, i dont think thats whats going to happen but if they were very much concerned about it, thats what they would have done. We do hear you and thanks very much for being with us today. Appreciate it, thank you. Thank you. Hold on a second. The National Anthem is about to start and we will listen in. With liberty and justice for all. Announcer ladies and gentlemen, please welcome timmy kelly to sing our National Anthem. 0 say can you see by the dawns early light what so proudly we hailed at the twilights last gleaming whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight and the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming and the rockets red glare the bombs bursting in air gave proof through the night that our flag was still there 0 say does that starspangled banner yet wave oer the land of the free and the home of the brave [ applause ] thats a young man from philadelphia. His name is timmy kelly. He was born prematurely. He developed blindness and Cerebral Palsy early in life. A fine voice. The Democratic National convention, day two in philadelphia. Moments ago we brought you a Bernie Sanders supporter who was firmly opposed to Hillary Clinton, staying with the Bernie Sanders camp. Now bring in a Hillary Clinton supporter now, the former secretary of labor under bill clinton, alexis herman. Welcome to the program. Its good to see you. Good to be with you. Thank you for inviting me. What would you say to alexis more ellie who says im not having it, im really angry and im not going to go with hillary . I would say to angie more ellie and i was listening to that interview, were going to continue to work hard for angies vote. The reality is thats what this campaign in part has been about. We will continue to engage and dialogue with the Bernie Sanders supporters. Weve won a lot of his supporters. Senator sanders was marvelous last night, and were not going to give up on angie or any sanders supporter. Thats the work that we still have to do in this campaign. Former president bill clinton is the main speaker tonight. Is he the man who can pull the party together, perhaps pull the policy back to the center . Is he the guy to do it . I think the roll that president clinton has played and will continue to play is to remind all of us whats at stake in this election, the policies as you point out that we need to embrace as one country, whether its how we create good and he certainly has a record for doing that what we need to do to make sure that we are safe and secure here at home. I think he will continue to speak to the themes of unity that has characterized bill clintons entire career and be that great motivator that he has always been. Are you going to unify around a centrist policy, or is the message of unity more like unify because we dont want donald trump . Which is it . I think its not about unifying because we dont want donald trump. Obviously thats a big goal for all of america. But the reality is the policies that were talking about, whether its creating jobs or raising the minimum wage or making sure that we have trade policies that are fair and free, providing quality, affordable healthcare to all americans especially, for our children, making college affordable, for our children today. I dont know that i would call these policies centrist policies. I would call them policies that are good for all american families. Madam secretary, today weve been witness to a dreadful event in france, a depraved murder of a priest in a church during mass. Will there be any mention tonight at the convention of isis or terror . Im sure that as this Convention Continues you will certainly hear us speak to the whole issue of terrorism in the world today. Im a catholic. I bleed for what happened in france yet again today, another tragedy for the french people. This is what we have to come together on as the world community, that terrorism, and youre going to hear us speak more to that. Madam secretary, is it a tragedy or is it an absolute depraved outrage . It is both. It is both. It is both a tragedy and certainly when someone commits an act like this, you must say they are a depraved individual. We thank you very much indeed for being part of our program today. Thank you. Much obliged to you. We will be right back. Test. Democrats gavel to order moments ago. They are getting ready for the roll call vote which will select officially their nominee for president. Virginia democrat senator mark warner is a super delegate voting for Hillary Clinton and he joins us now. Mr. Senator, weve been hearing all afternoon from Bernie Sanders supporters who are not placated by the changes made in the platform. Theyre going to raise their voices this afternoon. Ill put it to you, senator, the split continues. Stuart, i got to tell you, one, thats part of democracy. Two, i think Bernie Sanders did a great job last night endorsing senator clinton, and i think the overwhelming majority of folks coming out of this convention and frankly the millions of sanders supporters will support Hillary Clinton and my good friend tim kaine because the contrast between what is going on here in philadelphia, this looks like america, unlike what took place in cleveland last week. So theyll be some noise. End of the day most of these folks will come around. Last week after a 30minute rules fight at the Republican Convention, the Mainstream Media was saying it was chaos. Today after the raucous last night the mean stream media is merely saying it was unruly. May i make the suggestion that this convention, the democrats, is a good deal more unruly than the republicans last week. Stuart, im not sure since youve got none of your fox people here. Candidly, i think this is the the energy is quite good. I think this is going to come out the overwhelming majority of democrats here and more importantly americans across the country are going to see a clear contrast. One vision of america last week that was pretty dark said be afraid, be afraid. Here a vision that i think is more uplifting, call for economic change. But i again think both senator sanders and Michelle Obama did great jobs last night and i think thats the spirit youll see Going Forward. Thats the spirit youll see Going Forward. Moments ago you said the fox people are not here. Let me introduce to you bret baier, who is there. I believe he has a question. Bret . Im sorry, were getting a little could you ask that quickly again . I certainly can. Moments ago, mr. Senator, you said fox people are not there. Let me introduce to you bret baier, who is there. He has a question for you, sir. Senator warner, hi, its bret baier. Were out in full force here. Weve got big numbers here. Let me ask you this. Ive heard a lot of democrats here talk about last week and the Republican Convention and the dark tone, you say, that came out of it. But for all the talk, are you surprised about the trump bounce out of that convention, if you look at the polls . Not actual ly, bret. I would have been surprised if there hadnt been a bounce. You basically had a fourday infomercial that didnt lay out a lot of specifics about what donald trump would do. We did hear a lot of critiques of Hillary Clinton. Youll hear some things this week criticizing mr. Trump. But i also think youre going to hear a positive vision Going Forward for the country and, frankly, thats what americans want to hear. Youre a center left kind of senator, somebody considered a moderate. This outreach to the Progressive Left part of the Democratic Party, are you comfortable with all that is being negotiated in that front . Im comfortable with the fact that as somebody who has spent longer in business than i have in public life, i worry about a lot of the focus. And i say this as somebody who big supporter of free enterprise. I worry about a modern capitalism that seems to focus on short termism, quarterly profits, not longterm value creation. That is actually a tone thats been touched by donald trump and Bernie Sanders and i actually think there may be a coalition that can be built. I hope it will be built by Hillary Clinton and tim kaine that says how do we make capitalism work for more americans in the 21st century . We may get there in different ways. In many ways, that is the issue of our times. Senator, do you want to make america more like europe . It sometimes seems that the policies put forward by Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are taking us down that road, the same road that europe has been going down for a couple of generations. Are you comfortable with that . Im comfortable with the vision that says america has to stay competitive in the 21st century economy. With the changing nature of work, 21st century. We have a workforce with no unemployment, workmans comp disability because theyre in independent contractor status. These are issues that i hope abate those and frankly i think theres more appetite for that agenda here than i saw last week in cleveland. Bret . Senator we look forward to having you at the fox tent. Its right next to cbs. Im welcome to come on any time. How much does tim kaine move the needle in virginia . I think he helped. Ive known tim 27 years. Trustworthy. When the press went to find republican senators or others to criticize him, they all said he was a good man and were going to need that kind of collaboration after shes elected president. Senator mark warner, thank you so much, indeed, for joining us. Do go over to the fox tent. Its right next to cbs, as bret suggested. I hear shouts of hillary, hulry. Whats going on, on the floor . There were just some bernie chants and claps. Lets listen. Senator Bernie Sanders and secretary Hillary Clinton. [ cheers and applause ] as promised it is time to move to the nominating features. Thank you. As such, each candidate is allowed to have the nominating and seconding speeches presented on their behalf. We will now begin the preside president ial nominating process with nominating and secondary speeches on behalf of senator sanders. Just to give you a playbyplay here, stewart, these chants are bernie, bernie. Theres some hillary but a lot of bernie on the floor right now. Youll have nominating speeches for Bernie Sanders. Youll have representative gabbert coming out now, one of the early members of the house to endorse Bernie Sanders. And youll also have paul feeny, bernie 2016 state director. Weve got also for Hillary Clinton barbara mcculskey, senator from maryland and then john lewis, the representative from the state of georgia. Bret, we will listen in. My fellow democrats, my fellow americans, aloha. You know, people have asked me how a somewhat frumpy and maybe even sometimes grumpy 70yearold guy could become the voice for millions. Connecting seamlessly with labor from the rust belt and environmentalists from the west. The answer lies in his aloha, in his deep love for others and our mother earth. As bernie has said, the truth is, when you hurt, when your children hurt, i hurt. When my kids hurt, you hurt. This, my friends, is a movement of love. Love which calls upon us to care, to care for families torn apart by our criminal justice system, to care for folks whose jobs have vanished because of destructive trade deals, to care for those barely scraping by at minimum wage and those crippled by college debt. To care about our environment and future generations. To care about lives lost, lives ruined and countries destroyed by counterproductive regimechange wars. To care for our veterans who have put their lives on the line for our country, who now face unacceptable delays and inadequate care. This movement of love and compassion is bigger than any one of us. It speaks to our nations conscience and to our hearts. This love opens each of our eyes to the truth, that every hungry child is my child, that every worker seeking the dignity of a job is my neighbor. Every Senior Citizen in need of care is my parent. That an attack on anyone because of their race, religion or Sexual Orientation is an attack on all of us. Democrat, from hawaii. Bit of background here. She was originally firmly with the dnc but she quit. For whatever reason, she quit. And she joined the Bernie Sanders camp. She is now speaking on behalf of Bernie Sanders before the roll call vote. It is very important. When that roll call vote starts, you will hear from each state, one at a time. And Bernie Sanders supporters in that crowd are likely to make a great deal of noise. Theyve already made a great deal of noise already this afternoon. If you thought that the noise and the demonstrations from yesterday would quiet down to y today, think again. Weve seen a lot more of shouting on the floor. I wouldnt call it chaos. But Bernie Sanders supporters are making themselves very clearly felt in that auditorium this afternoon. The figve is next. Im greg gutfeld. Huge night for Hillary Clinton. Very soon she will officially become her partys nominee. Chief political anchor, bret baier, my favorite bear, joins us now to tell us whats about to happen. Bret . Hi, greg, and everybody on the five, we are here in the hall. They just started the nominating speeches. You get a sense from the crowd there are a lot of bernie delegates down there. They are going to start the roll call after a short time. But youve been hearing Bernie Sanders chants and clapping. Right now you had tulsey
