Whether its bahrain or saudi arabia or qatar, but not the sweeping allout effort that predictably jordan is. Whats going on here . Look, jordan now has entered a new phase. And the trigger point was the brutal killing, the burning of pilot kaseasbeh. Jordan has the longest borders with syria. Isis is mobilizing. Jordan will engage with isis. It would need fuel of fight, it needs the Logistical Support of the Saudi Arabian government of egypt, of uae and most importantly of the United States. We already know that isis even prior to all this dustup attacked an iraqi border post near jordan back in late january. Do we know whether isis is returning fire in some of these closetojordan outposts . Lets look at the big picture again. Isis controlled the maximum of ten of the sunni areas in iraq. It has almost controlled most of the sunni areas it can control in syria. If you look at the map, you understand the next target is going to be jordan. But two reasons for that, number one, they are close to 1,800 jordanians serving with isis inside syria and iraq. And if they decide to go home, thats jordan. Second, inside jordan, there are hundreds of jihadists influenced by the Muslim Brotherhood decades ago. The king and the government are engaged very seriously this time against isis. Now, besides the immediate and understandable rage on the part of jordanians after this horrific incident that others arent joining in. Theyre still offering the tactical and financial support, some, in the case of saudi arabia participating in the sor sorties over syria but not upping it. Is that just typical caution or are they assessing for themselves whether its even worth it . I would say its number b. General assessment in the arab world now, especially the saudis. The saudis also have a border where they could be engaging saw. What theyre going to conclude at the end is jordan is the battle battlefront and the moderates in the back need to support if jordan goes down, isis is going to slam them uae and egypt eventually. Well, is isis even capable of taking a country as powerfully militarily as jordan . In iraq we spent how many billions of dollars equipping the iraqi army . Remember mosul . Its not the same situation in jordan but jordan has less capabilities than iraq. Iraq has oil iraq has a large army and iran next door. Jordan will fight this battle. But its not just important the actual cash but for jordan to feel that the other arab countries, france, europe but mostly the u. S. Are standing by them if they need anything. Do you think that feeling is being received in jordan that they have that . Jordan or mostly the jordanian public are now inflamed because of what happened and they are backing their air force, their army. But the time will come as you said in the introduction where really the logistics the resupplying of jordan is going to happen. Then well see what washington and other capitals will be doing. Doctor, thank you very much. Thank you for having me. Isis has been claiming that american hostage Kayla Mueller was killed in those air strikes in syria. Heres Shepard Smith with what jordanians are telling him. I spoke with mohammed momani, the information minister for jordan, basically the spokesperson for the crown. And listen to what he said. Obviously were all looking into it. But our initial reaction is that it just doesnt add up. Were highly suspicious of this story. No one can identify the nationality of an airplane in the sky, plus what would that lady be in a storage of weapons and Training Centers for for terrorists . Kayla was captured in august of 2013. She was an aid worker had devoted her life since 15 years old to helping people out. She made a Youtube Video while she was over there talking about how she was in solidarity with the syrians because they were being bombarded by their own government. She didnt she was afraid of the plight for the children. She went over there to help kids. While she was doing that thats when isis captured her. There was a proof of life video months later. But nothing since then. The widespread thinking is that isis used this for a sort of isis propaganda moment and what theyre saying is as it almost always is, amounts to nothing. In the meantime im wondering at the risk of sounding cliches what the mood is there in amman and jordanians who are obviously responding aggressively and without reluctance to this brutal killing of their pilot, do they feel its going well . Do they feel that theyre going to stick to this for a while and that they support the king and queen in doing so . I think theyre straddling two emotions right now. This is the first friday prayers today was the first friday since this happened obviously. And you could feel it in the air today. This demonstration out in the streets in support of the family of their fallen hero and certainly in support of the campaign against isis. But whether theyll be able to continue this long term remains to be seen and how much more they can do really theyre limited in resources. But the hope is that it will bring the coalition together better. On that meter, i have brandnew news that i just got from our folks at the state department. A Senior State Department official has just said that the United Arab Emirates remember, the uae stopped its flights, kept up with the coalition but stopped its flights because it said that the United States wasnt there to give the kind of support that it thought they needed. It says it reaffirmed its commitment to the coalition and suggests there will be positive news on the flight issue in the next few days. Sounds like the uae is back. If nothing else, sounds like the coalition is coming together. Thats a very good thing. Dramatic development, thank you very much. Continued safety to you covering all of this. I want to get reaction to what shepard just reported on the part of the United Arab Emirates maybe coming back into the fight. Peter brooks, what do you make of this . That the coalition is coming together and at least what was perceived to be initial reluctance on the part of the uae has subsided . What are we to make of that . Well, its good news. But the fact of the matter is i dont think its going to change that much unfortunately. Im very concerned about our military strategy towards the islamic state. Once again its good uae will be running some missions but most of the air strikes are being done by the United States. Its good that jordan is stepping up. But we need others to step up and we need others outside of the middle east to step up including france and britain and others to deal with this scourge that were dealing with. Good news in the short term because were theyre worried about their pilots being downed and not being able to get them out. But we need a lot more in general. We have to get that. You quote it as scourge, others have downplayed it including susan rice making interesting comments and comparisons to whats going on there to another period in American History. Listen to this. Yes there is a lot going on. Still, while the dangers we face may be more numerous and varied they are not of the existential nature we confronted during world war ii or during the cold war. We cannot afford to be buffeted by alarmism and a nearly instantaneous new cycle. What do you think shes saying there, peter . Well i keyed on the word existential, which means that were not dealing with a situation where the United States will be knocked out of existence. But i think we are dealing with significant challenges. They are still thinking about 9 11style attacks. Im concerned were seeing isis flags being raised in places like libya which is a real mess pakistan, afghanistan, yemen. I dont think that they should be playing this down. And im very concerned about what they call a National Security strategy, im not sure if its a strategy at all. And i dont see us doing well on the Foreign Policy front whether youre talking about russia, iran, china or the challenges we face against terrorism. And it also assumes the possibility of a caliphate or, for want of a better term, the bad guys like nazi germany building bigger and bigger armies. I understand the difference between that. But the difference was and is in American History that we were late to the game. We addressed it and dealt with it but we made it much more difficult when coming in when we did, right . And how many times do they mischaracterize this . Last september when the president started his air strikes into syria and his national address, he talked about yemen being a model counterterrorism operation right. He calls it being the j. V. Team. Exactly. This is a problem. The reset policy towards russia, not about terrorism. But i have serious concerns about how they think about Foreign Policy and National Security issues in general. So im very skeptical about the future. And i think we need a lot of people to weigh in with some good ideas to get us moving in the right direction in terms of Foreign Policy and National Security, including congress. Peter brookes, thank you. Thank you, neil. Why are so many of us still so, so, so bummed out . You just got a big bump in miles. So this is a great opportunity for an upgrade. Sound good . Great. For the week, the dow is up more than 668 points biggest weekly increase in four years. We thought wed keep you abreast of all those developments. Now to todays jobs report on the surface, looks hunkydory hunkydory. The jobless rate going up but it is the quality of those jobs that theyre finding thats got Charles Payne very very concerned, so much so that he is doing a live show in orlando, florida. Hes a rock star there. Weve also got tracy burns and frank luntz. Charles, to you first. The thought that it is ticking in the right direction but people arent too excited . Were a long way from that moment. But maybe were turning the corner a little bit. Its the composition of the jobs. We all know that. Weve created a whole bunch of jobs in this country over the last few years. For the most part, theyve been lowerpaying jobs. People who lost jobs in the recession have taken a haircut, on average, 30 . Thats huge, thats significant. These kinds of jobs arent materializing. Theres a lot of reasons for it. But i think one of the big problems is if you go to Corporate America you hear these huge stock buybacks and companies would rather buy back their own stock or keep the money offshore than have it in a hostile environment where the government is trying to take it from them. So theyre not building factories or raising wages. Steady as she goes has been the argument of the administration and in his state of the union, the president embraced this recovery, that it might not be off to the races but were off the mat and all these republican critics, shut up, you can see, its palpable, its rail. Its real. Is it . The concern and the anxiety is real. More people are living paycheck to paycheck. About 40 of americans would go bankrupt in weeks if they lost their jobs. In the polling weve done, even when barack obama said the economy was strong it was the single worst reacting moment of the entire speech. The reason why is even if you have a job right now it still doesnt address rising prices. It still doesnt address costs for education, costs for health care. And the public says, im working harder than ever before but i have less to show for it. And theres a political consequence to that and a human consequence to that. Youve seen a lot of recoveries, tracy. And everyone says this ones a lot different in terms of the temperament of the people as they see it. And even in the middle of what was statistically a rebound we saw a big shellacking to democrats. What are we to make of it . Because our wages are basically the same as they were in the year 2000. Gallup did a recent study that showed over 70 of people are unengaged at work. Theyre in jobs they dont want to be in. Many people took jobs after the recession because they needed them. And now theyre afraid to leave them because were all living paycheck to paycheck. So theres a malaise over the economy. While the numbers start to show it, the people on the street arent feeling it. Charles weve gotten into this before this notion that jobs are coming back but if you lose a job and youre getting paid 100,000 and in the new job, youre getting paid 50,000, this has been played out by millions of workers. Thats whats real. That people dont feel it. Although were seeing slight upticks, albeit very slight, in wages, at the rate we are going when do you think or do you think people will be feeling it . Its going to tough, neil. This particular jobs report had a big spike in wages but it has been so deep and so depressed for so long it would take a sustained what we saw in january would have to be sustained for many months, over several years. We need an accelerated rate of growth. There was one period under Ronald Reagan where we had in one month, a million jobs created. To the point you guys have made, people felt it was palpable, it was something that everyone sort of even under bill clinton i have to tell you something, people felt richer. And feeling richer, by the way, is a gigantic part of making this economy work. Its a selffulfilling event at the end of the day. People have to feel like they can be a part of this. It does help if you have a job and better wages. But the American Public is just not buying in. Who does that help, frank, in this environment . The problem is its not going to help the republicans in congress because expectations for them are to fix it and its not going to help Hillary Clinton because in the end, shes going to have to defend the obama administration. Thats one of the reasons why confidence in washington is at an alltime low. Confidence in institutions. But business isnt doing well either. And the work weve done, confidence in large corporations is very close to its alltime low because they dont see anyone solving it. They think this is going to go on for years and they feel stuck. How could it be great when you have your hands are tiedegulations and youre being taxed to death and you cant figure out the Health Care Law . Corporations dont feel any better than we do. Were all confused and its all unfortunately coming out of washington. Thanks, i think, guys. Best of luck with that show, charles. I know you have your groupies. Always choose sunny locales. The white house confirming the Vice President , joe biden, will not attend Benjamin Netanyahus speech to Congress Next month. More democrats in congress say they wont be going either. A move one democratic strategist says he fully supports. Its six now confirmed but more could follow . Absolutely. I want to say its not something that i support and i dont think its going to be a formal boycott. They just dont show up . Theyre busy. Busy for a head of state . Not saying that. But im saying, is this not a smart move on boehners part or on netanyahus part to make democrats or congressmen in general choose between he and the president . I dont know why the speech cant be put off. How do you distance out the leader of a sovereign state and not look childish . It should be going through the white house its done. I agree with you. There should be a protocol. It was ignored. Boehner did it. But now it looks rude to the israeli people. I dont think that at all. In the end, if theres a real hit to u. S. israeli relations, theyre going to be a lot more unhappy than they were happy for those couple of days. Isnt the reality that netanyahu and the president have not liked each other not gotten along at all . I dont know. I think you know very well. I dont know. But im saying hes still the president for two more years. And this guys still the Prime Minister for the next month, right . Yeah. Looks like hes going to take that election. And its the timing of the election march 3rd is the i see it and i understand the protocol thing. But when i hear that was it john lewis the democrat from georgia, was quoted as saying, i think its an affront to the president and the state department what the speaker did. Agreed. Maybe he didnt follow protocol. Not maybe. Fine. Im just saying, its done, the leader is speaking to u. S. Congress. That is something that rarely happens. Why does it have to be on the floor of congress . Its a big deal. I understand you say privately. But its done. Now youre not going because you didnt like the protocol is that going to get through to israel that this is a protocol or that youre looking childish . I dont think that president obama you dont think its a slippery slope . Republicans could say, were not going to your next speech the republicans act childishly all the time. And democrats dont . Seems silly. It does seem silly. Why compound it by throwing a temper tantrum . Why cant it just be pushed . Why . The pope could speak, no one cares about that. Hes a head of a state. Its a partisan issue you ought to be careful what lines youre drawing. Youre saying this is israel on the verge of an election conservative leader will you say the same if a british leader comes here in the midst of a parliamentary election where do you draw the line . I dont think its that. I dont think anyone in congress or the president would ever say they didnt Like Netanyahu or israel. All these democratic congressmen and women are not coming to our leaders speech theres big support in israel for moving the speech as well. He could be at home right now. He doesnt need to be here. When you have jewish organizations also coming out against this. There are calls for john boehner to be fired. You dont think its odd the Vice President says im going to be out of town . No, i dont think its odd. I dont think anyones going to be particularly busy on march 3th. Id like to just be doing laundry. Shopping. I understand it. I think its a big mistake. Takes two to tango. But once it happens its our prestige on the line and you attend a leaders speech. Well, i heard you. Very good having you. I can be childish. We can see isis so why arent we bombing the heck out of isis . Iraqi officials are asking just that. Reportedly upset that air strike requests take too damn long. And by the time washington does approve them, isis is long out of town. Lieutenant general bob mmcnerney is not surprised. He says the administrations dragging out of this is whats making such a mess. This doesnt surprise you, general. Why is it a big deal . Why should we Pay Attention . Well if we want to defeat isis and defeat them quickly, we need to be able to respond with our airpower very quickly. And when the Iraqi Ground Forces and maybe the jordanian Ground Forces request a strike it must be done quickly within 15 minutes, preferably five minutes. If you go through thisese bureaucratic rules of engagement, we have to change them and make them much more aggressive like i used to live within four tours in vietnam. We didnt have these stringent rules of engagement. If we do and open that up we can have an air campaign that is a very viable air campaign. And i might add if i were running the air campaign right now, i would level that part of raqqa, the isis capital. I would level it and make it look like kobani. General, you just said you didnt have these same rules in effect throughout your four tours in vietnam. Not besmirching you or your tours. But vietnam didnt end too well. Maybe people feel theres got to be a middle ground. Are we too far the other way . That would be a much longer dissertation. But it was because of political things, when we quit supporting the south vietnamese. But the fact is, airpower was very effective once. They got rid of Lyndon Johnsons rules of engagements in hanoi. And in ten days, president nixon, ask john mccain about this, in ten days of intensive airpower, it was all over. Im saying if we have the right rules of engagement over there that we can take down raqqa, their capital, they wont have a capital anymore. And we can isolate the highway between raqqa and mosul. What if they spread out theyre everywhere now theyre like cockroaches. Good luck finding one. You stomp them there, theyre everywhere . Well, we have the surveillance, intelligence and reconnaissance assets that can see them. Theres only one main highway from mosul, frankly, to raqqa. And you seal that off, anything thats moving on that, neil you destroy it. Got you. And then you isolate mosul itself and then let the Iraqi Ground Forces with air come in and take it over. And that way its got to be a very aggressive campaign, not seven sorties a day. Its got to be 200 up to 400. Thank you for your time and your service, general. From enemies to suddenly frenemies, russia, russia is leading the surge to cut off isis. Is this a smart move . Thinking to myself, j. D. , wait a minute, russias not been hit by isis. Seems like everyone else has. Right. So is that the fox giving details on the hen now or what . Neil, great to see you. This is a brilliant move on russias part because russia has been attacked by chechen militants for decades but not isis or maybe they have, the offshoots of isis. Theres a lot of chechens that are part of isis. So they worry when they go back to russia, theyll attack moscow. This is smart by russia to go after isis directly, go after their finances and to try to get off this bad boy list as an International Pariah for ukraine. Really smart on their part. Maybe they already know a lot and they can say, we know where a lot of their money is. So theres not much searching they have to do. What do you think . I agree with that. Russia has a very strong intelligence apparatus. Weve got to remember, putin was a career kgb agent. Russia is a de facto mafia state. Who better to go after isis for their oil sales their sales of antiquities to raise money and the ransom payments . Thats how they go after them financial warfare. Then we can come back and say, now youre helping us, the western world the u. N. Will say, now youre helping so well ease up on the sanctions. Do you think thats going to happen . I do, neil. I think the International Community will do it. And russia has an economy in tatters right now. The ruble lost half its value against the dollar last year. Oil is about 50 barrel now. Conomy. Russias really hurting right now. They need sanctions relief and i think theyre going to get it. J. D. Gordon, thank you. You Want Cheaper Oil . Get ready for more expensive gas. We explain, you explode. Test. Test. Test. You just got a big bump in miles. So this is a great opportunity for an upgrade. Sound good . Great. Because youre not you youre a whole airline. And its not a ticket youre upgrading its your entire operations, from domestic to international. Which means you need help from a whole team of advisors. From workforce strategies to Tech Solutions and a thousand other things. So you call pwc. The right people to get the extraordinary done. Timing is everything. Just when prices are finally coming down at the pump taxpayers become the chump because according to the president s budget director, the president is now open to hiking the gas tax. Republicans wouldnt go along with that, would they . I dont know. Fox newss capitol hill senior producer says they just might. Chad, why would they do that . Youre not hearing a lot of people saying, we want to raise the gas tax. But something has to happen. In the summer, there are always big sequels that come out. This is going to be the return of the cliff. We had these fiscal cliffs a couple of years ago. This is going to be the transportation cliff. The money you pay on the gas tax, 18 cents and change per gallon of gas, goes to fund all Transportation Products at the federal level. And that money right now, they are in the red seriously. It all runs out in may. They have to have a funding mechanism to pay everybody to go and work on these projects over the summer. You have the summer driving season. And theres just no money there. So they have to come up with something. House Speaker John Boehner said, i never voted for a gas tax increase. They havent raised that gas tax in about two decades now. So they have to find some mechanism. And thats why some people are starting to bat it around. Sean donovan, the budget director, made news about that the other day. But to be clear this is not something thats in the president s budget. As you know, republicans arent too keen on raising taxes for anything. But maybe they would do it as part of a larger infrastructure bill, right . One of the things thats been talked is maybe the president does something ill give you keystone if we do Something Big like this . What do you think . Its the art of the compromise. Keystone is important. People arent saying this is the quid pro quo here. But john boehner has made it Crystal Clear that we have to have a viable infrastructure in this country. Infrastructure is getting old. Theres a bridge that goes across the ohio river from cincinnati to Northern Kentucky into Mitch Mcconnells state which is a really bad bridge i75. And theyre like if were going to have a viable economy, move products and commerce, we have to have things fixed. And this will be a big cliff if they dont have it fixed. And some say its a perfect time to raise gas taxes because gas is so low right now. Its gone up in the last week about a dime. So they have to be very careful with that. Thats why some on the left are saying, maybe we should do this. Remember, there were two proposals on the amendments during keystone. Maybe they can get a tradeoff. Chad, youre so wicked smart. Its scary. Chad, thank you very, very much. Parents, the pope says its okay, its okay to spank your kids. Its okay. Are you okay with that . Whats that thing . Isis set a guy on fire and all of a sudden hollywood has nothing to say about american sniper. Coincidence . We have a ton of amazing emails and tweets just coming in fast and furious on this. Im going to be relaying some of that reaction from a lot of you tonight on my Fox News Network show at 8 00 p. M. Your thoughts on this eerie silence from the hollywood left, from the likes of Michael Moore howard dean, et cetera. First, lets see what dan thinks about this. We also have ashley and diana with us. Ashley, on this odd timing what do you think . I think its going to put the focus on who the enemy is. And it should change the conversation from criticism over this film over chris kyles story. I get why youre not going to see it as much. Also those in hollywood who did criticize this film they backtracked very quickly after all the backlash from the public, from members Michael Moore did seth rogen did a little bit. Michael moore tweeted a couple of days ago another article that he wanted to expand on his point of view what he was trying to say originally. Thats how to stir up controversy. A handful of hollywood heavyweights who made these comments and back tracked quickly. What hollywood knows is a 1 billion box office. Hollywood didnt hate the movie. They funded the movie and put it out there. Six Academy Award nominations. It came out on christmas and it was released later nationwide. We see how quickly they were able to drop the interview when that was doing bad. Now they are just past it and dont care about it anymore and looking to what is coming out now. I think a large part tof plays into the fact of how many people have seen the movie and can make the judgment themselves. People in hollywood are quick to make points of view when most people have not people are quick to latch on to that point of view and say i heard this about the movie. It also comes down to think before you tweet. These celebrities have tons of influence because of social media. It gets retweeted 1,000 or so times. Its okay to spank your kids now. Nothing wrong with showing a little firmness. You think hes right . I do. I think a lot of people whats firmness to you . To me if it is basically a spank on the butt. By no means do i condone putting the kid over your knee and consistently hitting it. I think there needs to be firmness by the parent. People who say kids need to be put in timeout and in the corner all the time how about spanking them in timeout . I have seen people who are opposed to spanking on any level either they dont have kids or their kids are monsteres. Everyone i know including myself was spanked as a child. I think im all right. That is out for the jury. I wonder if we have the generation of bratty people is because there was a generation of people who werent spanked. Narcissistic because they werent spanked . They werent disciplined properly. Adding another layer to this debate. Would you spank your kid . I dont know and i dont have kids. I already know they are going to be bad. Thanks. Would you spank them . I think that is a decision you make when you become a parent. My sister in law does a great job of disciplining my 5yearold niece and she does it by words. The airline is considering adding up to 100 extra seats, 100 seats on some of the planes. Is this too much . I cant believe it is actually 100 extra seats per plane. They had me sitting in it right now. You cant really tell. I find it why not put us on a pallet, wrap us up and ship us . One step away from it. I dont want anymore in my personal space because i like traveling with somebody i know. It is getting awkward already on the planes. The time has come where i am going to have to book to seats on the plane. 100 seats is a lot of seats. Lets not forget that they are saying extra padding. Really that doesnt do anything. I flew a ton last year and was becoming close to claus claustrophobic. I have become panicky. The guy in front of me can lean himself back and this is considered my seat number. Horizontally and vertically. The initial reaction to the new seats havent been exactly positive it gets better over time. Of course, it does. I dont know about that. All they are going to do is you guys like to fly at all . Not at all. Just united, not everybody. Right. Do you spank the guy in the next seat . You probably would. They can make money off of it. They make money hand overfist. The experience is miserable. Where i go and where i get to. That is my point. You can put 20 people on that route. If they can find people to get out of new jersey your kids act upon the flight do you spank them . Longer the adventure we used to take a there as quic it over with. Asleep you cantsmells.
