Orders. She took an hourlong bike ride, a day after prompting a News Conference in which she promised she wont be hold up to a doc who says the nurse is out of line. She says is this is not about casesy. This is something bigger. What do you think of her behavior . I think her behavior has crossed the line. Seriously, she may not be contagious but the fact we say may not is reason enough for her to be quarantined. She also had she is setting an example or precedent. What is going to happen when 50 people if it ever gets to that are quarantined and want to take the law into their own hands. I was on her side in the beginning but now i think she is being afforded the comfort of her home and needs to follow the law. What is the risk that she could still have this and she is dallying around in public . This doctor is holed up in bellevue in this stage in that socalled incubation period he was not exhibiting signs of ebola. There is any chance she could be . The fact that the question, is there any chance . Yes, there is a chance. Its very small but what i love is the fact she tells chris christie, governor. Chris , youre not a doctor. Well, she is not a doctor, either, and we dont have all of the data. Probably she is not infectious. She has had a couple of tests which are negative. The doctor in new york, his blood tests would not have shown anything below he became febrile. So one way she is probably not infectious but are we willing to risk our lives on that . Its not a big deal for her to stay in her home. The argue. Is that we have to be twice ask three times cautious. She should know that and as someone who sacrificed a good deal of her own risked a great deal of her own health to helps no need so we should never forget that. But now she is crossing the line and may be doing more harm than good and sending a bad signal to those coming back from the region. Thats my opinion. The science is the science, and i kind of agree with her, she probable his is not contagious. But you cant send a signals to healthcare workers you have to follow the same precautions were asking all citizens to follow. Would that include that anyone who comes back from this region, especially those who have treated people for ebola, that they should quarantine themselves . I finally and have an agreement with the cdc, i think the criteria they set is very, very smart, and the nurse here falls under people that are at high risk that are asymptomatic, and even the cdc recommends she be quarantined in her own home, that she follow her temperature twice a day and that she stay no public transportation, and maybe within three feet of other people. But even now we know that the ebola can be found in salva and in nose droplets. So we dont know everything yet. Theres no harm in her waiting this out. I understand that but a lotwh within our midst. But we are springing the bad guys we had locked up. Theres 149 detainees left at guantanamo. When i was a pentagon spokesman that number was over 500. Obamas little secret for guantanamo, the president would bring them to the United States where a lot of judges could release them because theyre not enough evidence to keep them. We didnt have battlefield detectives running after these guys. The president nose this. He was a former law professor. He knows if he close guantanamo and brings them to the United States judges could order their release. We have activist judges who are long on ideology and short on conservativism for national security. It stands to around youre holed up in a Detention Center for years, as soon as youre out of that Detention Center, where you rightfully in imprisoned or not. Youre not going to be happy about america and not nice when it comes to what you want to do to america. So stands to reason as weller who going to do anything you can to stick it back to america. Is any of this a shock . That part is true as well. Guantanamo held 779 detainees. Five percent should never have been there in the first place through our internal review processes but those guys left a long time ago. The detainees in there now need to stayc do we just give up . When theyre out there, the discover, oh, wait a minute, theyre in syria, or theyre joining with isis elements in western iraq, and how do we discover thats or do we just sort of say, oh, well, reports are out thats where they are. Our intelligence authorities are tracking them and our allies are tracking them as well. Thats how we know we have sources that say 20 to 30 have gone to fight with the islamicbm state. So were doing our best to keep them off the battlefield but its hard. Its like whackamole. Just putting them in the United States wont cut them. People say no one ever escaped from super max but if a judge lets them out they dont need to escape. Get them into super max to tempt that fate. Win a visa gift card for simply voting. Was a chicago alderman offering voters a chance to win . We have fox 3 to Investigative Reporter dane explaining this one. Dave, i cant believe some of the stuff you uncovered. Explain. This one was unbelievable to me as well. I got a tip the other day that a chicago alderman put something on her facebook final encourage her constituents to vote this coming tuesday. I couldnt believe it when i saw it so i went to her ward office on the south side and heres what i found. We went to the south side office of Leslie Harrison to see if theyre really handing out prizes for voting. Hey, with fox 32. I can enter the raffle. Ing this post on the Facebook Page went up telling residents they could win raffle prizes if they go to the polls. His instructions, vote. Youre eligible no matter the candidate, then put their name and Contact Information on the back of the voter resort, and stop by the fifth ward office to drop it up. Among the prizes, gift cards from area businesses, including walgreens, and starbucks, and visa gift cards. We showed this to an election attorney. Is this okay. No, not okay. Legal . No, not legal. Violates article 291 of the election code. Which bans the practice of votebuying and carries a class 4 felony. The section is very specific. You cannot offer anything, money or anything of value to entice someone to vote one way or the other or just to vote. We oughted up with the alderman at city hall on a break. You eaver gift cards for people who came in with a voting slip. That is not exactly it. My how aim how am i wrong . The post is gone. It was up. And its now gone. The post disappeared by the afternoon. If you understand why people became alarmed about this . When we found out, we took it down. Later, she issued a statement. My only intent was to encourage people to exercise their right to vote. There was in sub at sub at te sewage it was command place to buy a persons vote and was a big joke, but this is chicago. Re learned thez8n cook county states attorney who has an fraud elux unit has opened an election unit has an open investigation. The alderman says she shouldnt be prosecuted here because no harm no foul. She says nobody came into the office and submitted their voting receipt and didnt hand out any prizes, though they took it down, we shouldnt worry about it. They were clearly incentivized to do it. That car rot was held out there, right . The carrot was held out. Nobody took the carrot. The question, does that mean a crime was committed . So, informs people about the mindset here in chicago. Was amazing someone an alderman, an elected official, who is a lawyer, would think it would be okay to offer something of financial value to go to the polling place. Thats the way things were done here in the past. Seemed kind offed nonplussed about it. I cant believe it but it is what it is. Dane is in chicago. Its not just chicago. Voter fraud worries are growing across the United States. Eric sean with the latest on that. Its not even election day and voter fraud cases are already popping up across the country. In tennessee, Joanne Cronin was indicted on votebuying charges, in connecticut, the Prosecutor Says for too long this criminal activity has been accepted as part of life and will no longer be tolerated in connecticut, a representative faces 19 voter fraud charges there. And in texas two people pled guilty to buying votes, get this, with cocaine. And cash. In rhode island, police tell fox news theyre investigating several voter allegations. Mean while in maryland and illinois, voters complain their votes were switched by machines from republican to democrat. Maryland Officials Say it happened on 20 machines but they could not replicate that in testing. Some analysts admit voter fraud happens but its not as widespread as many fear. I think that the threat of voter fraud is often exaggerated. That said, where it happens its quite serious, and i certainly dont condone it where it happens, and its important to be vigilant against it. Secretary of state ross miller, democrat, says he is on guard. They prosecuted acorn for illegal Voter Registration in vegas. He start a task force and says voter fraud threatens the very fabric of our democracy. Theres nothing more sacred than maintaining integrity in the electoral process to make sure people have confidence in the democratic process. You have to have a very diligent system set up to detect fraud writ happens and go after those individuals that commit the crimes, aggressively. In maryland, state officials there admit noncitizens may have voted. Its only legal to vote if you are an american. Let me wrote a write that down. Americans voting in american elections. Incredible. When the got angry they got their point across because the didnt get angry too often. You want too have the conversation late center im happy to have it. Until at that time time sit down and shut up. On my journey across america, ive learned that when you ask someone in texas if they want big savings on Car Insurance, its a bit like asking if they want a big hat. scuse me. Or a big steak. Or big hair. I think we have our answer. Geico. Fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent or more on Car Insurance. Heard the audio a gazillion times. Suffice to say youre familiar with it. Chris christie getting feisty again. Thats nothing new. Almost 24 7 for the governor, but for a leader, president ial historian says this kind of stuff risks getting old. Your argument is, its all right to have azq yes. The difference for governor christie is he already has a reputation as a bully and this kind of confirms it, whereas with kennedy, reagan, george h. W. Bush, bush had the moment of shouting down dan rather on live tv and reagan in New Hampshire at the debate, those were moments where their anger countered a negative perception. Kennedy was seen as too young, following eisenhower, did he have the strength to lead . Reagan was seen as too old also showed an unexpected backbone when even their lieutenants werent expecting it, in this case, john kennedy, general in the wrong place at the wrong time on the receiving end of a very angry commander in chief of a certain hospital bed afforded his thenpregnant wife. This is john kennedy. A tape not a lot of people have heard. Yes, sir. That air force is that silly bastard did you see the post this morning . See that fellows picture by the bed . See the furniture they bought . What the hell they let the reporters in there for. Are they crazy up there . You just sank the air force budget. Theyre crazy up there. Theyre crazy. That silly bastard with his picture next to the bed. I want it to go back. All right, sir. Then i want that fellas who had his picture taken next to mrs. Kennedys bed. He is a silly bastard. I wouldnt have him running a cat house. You better look into it. This is obviously this is obviously a [bleep]. Right. That was from the john kennedy. This only came to light years after his death but i think the general on the receiving end of that got the message loud and clear because this was behavior he did not expect out of kennedy. Thats right. And you know, the president is the president. I once saw a movie and Kevin Costner was playing special assistant during the president during the sixday crisis with kennedy and the showdown with khrushchev and was telling the president what to do. I was thinking from my own time in the white house, it doesnt work like that. But he is the boss. A time when you show your anger that is he thought because of the pictures getting released it would hurt the budget he waned for the air force justifiable reason. Ronald reagan before he became president , when a lot of people thought after he split in iowa, he was toast, and then took the moment by storm. This is back in 1980. Take a look. Turn that microphone off, please. I am paying for this microphone. That turned it around for him. Landslide, and romp past his opponents. That anger was wellplaced and welltimed. It was defining moment for him and it showed he was a leader. Showed leadership. Thats why im saying a little bit different with christie. Why . Why is it different with christie . You dont think its leadership to tell someone to shut up or get someones face or you save its okay but you do it now and then . Because reagan had the image of a genial, kind, old man, who may not be up to he was an anticommunist warrior and may not be up to taking on the soviet union, and with christie, his anger is confirming a weakness, which is youre a bully. So thats how its different. Well put. Thank you very, very much. In the meantime, 40 years ago today, whe w4n were you . Remember the rum until the jungle . Remember this greatest upset in sports history . Muhammad ali does. Muhammad alis daughter, she was a little young but im sure she is familiar with it. The rumble in the jungle, 340 years old today. Muhammad alis daughter on what her dad is doing now, and we think of what happened then, and then care to guess how much they play for their college . Zero, zippo, nada. Very even fight. Ali, another right hand. This time he works over the shoulder of forman. Three. Four. Five. In the sports world one of the greatest upsets or alltime, nothing before, almost nothing since, muhammad ali, a 101 underdog, eclipsing man that many feared would till him kill him in the ring. That was then. Rasheed da ali with he now. Very good to have you. I miss you, its good to see you again. Same her, my friend. Dish doo give away ages four years old. I was. Im also older than you. I know, dont look it. I remember that quite well as a high schooler. But obviously as you grow in your family, that iconic moment stood. Sure. That was a big moment. The best fight id ever seen. I saw the fight. They talked about it in the movie wow when we were kings and also the new movie out, i am ali. The most magnificent fight ive seen. Youre were 14 and of course your dads parkinsons had been announced to the world, and then he said we talked about this that the fight might have contributed to it. He took a lot of blows to the head, body, and that the long career of his, storied as it was, led to what he is fighting now. What do you think . Well, you know, we dont know why my dad has parkinsons. Nobody knows why you get it. Theres a genetic component with parkinson0s, but certainly the fight was something that even his corner men and a lot of people in his camp didnt thing he would make the fight. In fact they had doctors and hospitals in switzerland lined up and prepared to take him from zaire directly to the hospital for medical care. So they really thought he would be extremely damaged by that fight. In fact your dad has quite the mouth on him, if i remember. He was he always was egging on forman. When i had George Forman here exhe said, just wanted to kim him, and there were a lot of Sports Writers who were afraid for your dads life, that he would die in the ring because forman, who had decimated some of the greatest boxers of alltime at that time, joe frazier and so many others, feared the same would happen to him. Well, forman was 600, never lost a fight. He actually fought against norton, who fought my dad and lost in the first norton fight, and then he fought frazier. He fight these guys guys and effortlessly annihilated them. Completely. Knocked frazier down six times in one fight. It was a joke. It was a joke. When you look at statistically, okay, if he is going to do this to guys that knocked my dad out, what is it going to do with him . My dad was a lot older than forman. It was almost the reverse situation of the liston fight where my dad was too young, and with this fight, the formanfight, he was too old and wouldnt i wayne show. Odds were against him almost ten to one on both sights. I forgot about sonny liston that made your dad the heavyweight champ for the first time and did that three times. Let me in on a little secret. Did you dad ever say to you, really was just improvidessing, this wasnt a strategy of me just lying on the ropes here . I know my concerner was against it but i was just going along, seeing whatever worked, bus i dont know. And then i didnt count on this guy sort of puckering out. Heres the thing. My dad mentally challenged his opponents as well as physical, but my dad was always one step ahead of his opponents mentally. He knew forman was the hardest hit he if took so he knew that would be a challenge, buta z te are a few people thats why the ropeadope was born at that fight, because he knew that forman was going to be able to punch, punch, punch and not go over six rounds because forman never got knocked out. He did not have in his repertoire any losses. He didnt know how to deal with loss because he never had loss. My dad has lost so he had michigan to build up his strength. So when my dad was fighting with forman in ring, and he termed the ropeadope, and forman would tell you my dad stood on the ropes and he was a dope, but he tired himself out. He did. Now welcutr know, now we know. Im curious, how his doing now . How is the family doing . My dad is doing amazing. We facetime him a lot. He is traveling quite a bit. Doing a lot of work for his charity event, the Muhammad Ali Parkinson reside center. He has a museum in louisville, talks about what tools he had as youngster growing up in a racially divided country, and being able to make the sacrifices he has made and how he became the person he is today. That means a significant look into how muhammad ali became great. It was socially significant where it wasnt a win where he seven years before, they took the title away. So it wasnt, i got my title back. If was like, i won fo⌟ln my people. This is a win for not just the people in zaire but people all over the world. He stood for hope, and really that is why this fight was so significant socially. It was big deal, and the republic of congo. You serve your dad well. Youre quite an accomplishment for old dad in and of yourself. I hope he appreciates you. He better. I appreciate it. Can you imagine a fighter right now in our day, 40 years later, talking about that fight . No. Who would have thought. A very good point. A nerdy guy, yes, 40 years later but not that. Great to see you again. Continued success mitchell best to your dad and family. Thank you so much. 40 years ago. Seems like yesterday. Billionaire jon huntsman said he is not leaving a dime to his kid. He told them the same thing. After this. Big day . Ah, the usual. Moved some new cars. Hauled a bunch of steel. Kept the supermarket shelves stocked. Made sure everyone got their latest gadgets. Whats up for the next shift . Ah, nothing much. Just keeping the lights on. laugh nice. Doing the big things that move an economy. See you tomorrow, mac. See you tomorrow, sam. Just another day at norfolk southern. We asked people a question how much money do you think youll need when you retire . Then we gave each person a ribbon to show how many years that amount might last. I was trying to like, pull it a little further got me to 70 years old im going to have to rethink this thing its hard to imagine how much well need for a retirement that could last 30 years or more. So maybe we need to approach things differently, if we want to be ready for a longer retirement. You want to go to college . Young, better save up. That is what our next guest is saying to his eight children. He is doing it out of love. Good to have you. Eight kids, touche. But you told each and all, dont look to dad to pay for college. What did they say . Yes. I think they have differing responses. My oldest is a senior in high school so its becoming more of a reality to her now. You just broke it to her as a senior in high school . No. No. Im just saying i dont know if she thought about it as much before shes really thinking now. What did you tell them to do apply for loans, get scholarships, do it on your own . Get loans, apply for scholarship and also just learn how to customize your education. There are lot of ways to good to school and i dont believe college is for everyone. There was a point in time what the folk was more on selfreliance and college was the best way, and now we have gone to this extreme and people dont realize colleges are big businesses and we have a lot of debt out there and im not sure its for everyone and really helping as many people as they think it is. Did you go to college. I did not. I did some classes. I never graduated from college. I actually didnt graduate from high school. I did the 11th grade. Went to some College Later on, where an Employer Paid for know good to college. Then i even took a few courses at harvard but didnt get any degree anywhere. What do you do now . I own a marketing and p. R. Company, and we do at love web sites and we do a lot of web sites and videos and Marketing Campaigns and publicity. Obviously you havef 4 eisn kids, they all look like a healthy and happy bunch. Obviously you have enough to take care of them in that regard. But do any of them go back at you and then say, well, dad, were doing okay, you could spring a little. You know, i help my kids wherever i can but i want to make sure theyre doing everything they can first. Ive had kidded that wanted to go on trips and they worked hard and had businesses and saved money, and sometimes they fell short, and so i came up with the rest of the money but when they got back from the trip they went back to working and earning and doing their part. And i think that the difference is that a lot of parents out there are just giving so much to their kids, theyre just condemning them to a life of mediocrity. If were constantly saving our kids and giving to our kids they never learn that. Youre right in this regard. Only the last generation that added to my responsibilities kids paying for their college education. That wasnt they case. Youre getting back to what used to be the accepted parental duties until age 18. Absolutely. I was born in an army hospital. My father got to go to college because he served in the military, and ahave friends who served in the military and i wouldnt be surprises if if kids serve in the military. There are ways to really, truly earn your education, and these are the things i want to encourage. Very interesting. Very, very interesting. Doesnt seem to be causing any traumas with any of those beautiful children of yours, david, best of luck, get to me if it does. David saggan, in los angeles. So does personal finance guru lauren think this is dads and parents should be doing as well . Teach them something . I think this raises a good point. A lot of people send their kids to college and dont think about the return on the investment. I if your kid doesnt want to know what they want to do its an expensive way to figure it out. So i like the idea of having them take responsibility or good to community college. Or college isnt for everybody. A lot of people do well in certain trades. College is a mean to an end. I you want to pursue a certain profession, then you need to go to college. If youre not sure, you can start businesses. Theres a lot you can do without going to college. If you think college is what you want for your kids, that a parent should help . I think that if a parent can help its very nice they do help. But shouldnt be expected. Shouldnt be expected and one of these kids, are you hearing that . Should not be expected. I digress. In my household it wasnt expected and so one thing i did is i approached scholarships like it was fulltime job. I applied for scholarships 20 hours applying for scholarships. If you get a thousand dollars thats an hourly rate of 50 bucks. And then your dad is very happy, and it pays off. Wvn my father said, sons of italy is having a scholarship. You might pursue that. There are tons of scholarships, even throughout the whole four years. You think parents should be foot something of the bill. If they can. And the thing is you have to prioritize retirement about college because there are no loans our retirement we got lauren here so its time for your retirement questions. A lot of tom tweets, my daughter is a senior in high school. What do you think of the plans . If you are going to pay for college, you should absolutely take advantage of these plans. All the candidates are masquerading that theyre going to be winning in these close contested races. Ernst probably has a little bit of a lead and joni ernst and bruce braley have been battling for months. Another key state is colorado. In colorado they had a chance of protecting that seat and now mark udall is trailing against his challenger, cory gardner. The third state is North Carolina and thats too close to call. Nobody knows whats happening. Here in iowa joni ernst has been getting a tremendous pounding from the democratic outside money. Likewise the same has been true for bruce braley. Here ms. Ernst has been battling against the democrats assertion that the republicans are waging a war on women and she said thats absolutely not true. We talked to her a great deal. Youll see some of this on saturday as well as the last couple of days of this race. Americans are paying more than double for gas than when president bush first took office. You know, neil, what you havent mentioned in the whole show, oil company profits. Get tough on big oil. The president refuses to do that. If their ceo is giving a retirement gift of 400 million, doesnt that so when crude oil let me ask you this, senator. And the average business is subsidizing senator, can i ask you that. We are one accident or one terrorist attack away from oil at 100 a barrel, not just 75. We have no leadership. Well, now that prices are falling, im sure were on it. So lets get the latest reaction to it. [ crickets ] crickets, nothing. Where have they all gone . Wheres their rage . Why isnt someone grabbing these no good greedy oil guys to washington to explain this crumbling of gas prices. Someone must be manipulating all this, right . You dont go to 4 gas to under 3 gas in under a year and say oil is well. Not on these politicians watch, right . They must know somethings up. So whats up with them not saying something . Actually not saying anything . Dont you find it a little odd that the same people who said the oil industry manipulated prices when they were going up arent saying boo now that theyre coming down. Because those prices are coming down a lot faster than they went up. You would think they would find all this weird, or at least curious. That is, unless these politicians know it isnt weird and really isnt curious and that those energy guys arent nearly twice so clever as they thought. That they might not have been fixing prices any more on the upside than they are now apparently on the downside. Sometimes its just market forces. Sometimes its just supply and demand. Sometimes its just an economy slowing down. A demand for the stuff that pretty much fuels the world slowing down too. After all if the oil guys are so fixated on fixing things, theyd find a way to get out of the fix theyre in now. But they cant do that right now, can they . They arent doing that right now, can they . And now a lot of them are in trouble, arent they . And a lot of oil drillers who cant afford to drill are in even bigger trouble, arent they . What about those jobs . Whos looking out for those folks . Whos demanding hearings into their sudden plight . Where is their commission . Where is their Kangaroo Court . Who will be their head on a stick . Who will make a cause out of them and needlessly create a knockdown straw man on behalf of them . Surely the fair and balanced politicians who last year at this time who were making villains out of them will do that. Surely it works both ways, right . No, not right. Not what politicians who happily point the finger when things are bad would sooner take a bow when things suddenly look inexplicably good, because talk of price manipulation only works when the price is not going your way, not when it is. Thats why all that rage that i told them then seemed so transparent and all this silence is so deafening right about now. Kind of makes you miss when they were point fingers. They want to make you point a certain finger right back. But again thats just me. Good night. Hello, everyone. Im greg gutfel. Its time for the five. If the republicans win next week, whats the plan . The media is already there, warning them against extreme partisanship. Dont act nuts, the hacks say. Though its the hacks who brand them as nuts. Funny, they never did that in 2009 when the kids took over. So whats the plan . Restoration. The president s rare combo of arrogance and incompetence has left us trashed and vulnerable. What was once cool years ago is now co
