Touting, engaging the economy from low unemployment to rising wages and zeros and what he wants to get done this year in the face of a hostile political environment but of course nancy pelosi front and center. She is running house populated with lawmakers to block his agenda and possibly impeach him. White house will focus on this, safe and legal immigration, protecting american workers, rebuilding america lowering the cost of health care and Prescription Drugs and a parroting National Security. That sounds bipartisan but yesterday 24 hours before the speech, Democrat Chuck schumer speech full of lies and that the state of the Trump Presidency is full of incompetence. Not a good sign for the second speech, unity, the fact to declare the president as a warmup act for georges state stacy abrams giving the democratic response and breaking tonight the New York Times fully engage the president is complaining early drafts of this speech were too kind to democrats. So sources i have spoken to say they have been meeting with the president s recent days. They say he is saying and pride month the administration found billions of dollars in unspent military Construction Funds that could be respent on a border wall, repurposed. One way he could go around democrats in the Congress Without formally declaring a national emergency, tucker. Tucker we will hear more about that, thank you very much. You are looking now at live pictures of the u. S. Capitol building and the steps where we are now. The president will deliver the state of the Union Address in a little over an hour from now and continuing coverage of course all night. But first, i want to bring you more news from the new leap volatile commonwealth of virginia. Just 24 hours ago, a picture and at that point the state Lieutenant Governor just fairfax fully expected a job promotion because the Governor Ralph Northam found to have a clan hood on his School Yearbook page. But that is not how it worked out. Now, Justin Fairfax himself is being accused of serious wrongdoing. Politics professor from california called Vanessa Tyson said fairfax is sexually assaulted her in her hotel room 2004 Democratic National convention in boston. The description of that is graphic. Now tyson is an active democrat, shes got degrees from princeton and university of chicago. It is not easy to dismiss her claims out of hand and yet fairfax is. He said there was a encounter between the two but he says it was consensual. Here is the interesting thing, his democratic colleagues are standing with him and against her tonight. In other words, it in a space of a few months, the standard for believing Sexual Assault accusers has changed completely. So here in case you have forgotten, how prominent democrats responded to the dash unsubstantiated from Brett Kavanaugh, watch. Let me just say, that i believe dr. Ford. I believe the survivor here. I believe her. Tucker do you believe her story . I can tell you it does ring a truth to it. I think the allegations of professor ford are extremely credible. I believe her because she is telling the truth. Someone who lies does not ask the fbi to investigate their claim judge kavanaugh has not asked to have the fbi reviewed these claims. Is that the reaction of an innocent person . It is not tucker i command her courage. She is telling the truth because she is Christian Hildebrand at the time. No, they no longer believe all women. Now, there is the Washington Post which you remember was the first report on Christine Blasey ford against kavanaugh and that same newspaper by the richest man in the world jeff bezos, vanity project investigated the fairfax story. But strangely decided not to publish it. It is just he said he shed story a professor out in california. The irony is unbelievable but definitely not worthy of print. Tammy bruce president and she joins us tonight. Tammy, for those of us searching for some standard that we can look to to govern our own behavior and our own judgment, what is the standard . The standard is to take women seriously. The standard is to take people who make allegations, people make statements about either violence or crime is not to believed them immediately because there are issues of due process and faxed to be found, but you take them seriously. That is what we have asked for as women in dealing with issues like this. This is my message throughout the Kavanaugh Hearing when it comes to Christine Ford was to take her seriously. I think something happened to her, but then we determined as this unfolded that it was likely not Brett Kavanaugh. Interestingly in this case, you have someone who says you noted it is actually not a opposing Political Party but a less idea of a political motive here. And yet also taken seriously, but i would not say that we should just leave her out of out of hand. Tucker no. Tammy what this marks, tucker, a problem in this issue is used for partisan purpose and where a group of people look for one party to be the saviors on an issue because it becomes weaponized. And you never get to a point where you can actually have solutions on the issue. One side uses it to get the other side, and then they ignore it when it happens to their side. And what i predicted during kavanaugh has come true, ms. Tyson is being implanted by the very same people who said that you know, this is the most important issue in the world. They try to destroy Brett Kavanaugh over this. It happens to women all the time and every day. And now, we are looking at women suspiciously. If you are a democrat you are accusing a democrat that is wanting to be taken seriously. This is the problem with making this kind of an issue a partisan issue. Tucker i totally agree it degrades encrypt everything. Tammy exactly. Tucker you made that point months ago on the kavanaugh story. Tammy this is predictable and we must fight against, it is unfortunately a good example of it and ms. Tyson deserves at the very least to be taken seriously. Tucker and we should hear her out and hear the facts. Tammy, thank you very much. Tammy things, tucker. Tucker we are talking about this live tv but apparently the internet was out of service in the u. S. Senate at least on the democratic side. Democratic senators seem to do nothing at all about the allegations against Lieutenant Governor of virginia. Someone said they never even heard of him, Justin FairfaxLieutenant Governor of boyer . So henry rogers the daily went over to the senate today to ask what you think of this and this is what he found. I havent looked at most of the details of that up to happened. I think we have to get more information at this point. I dont know who Justin Fairfax is . The Lieutenant Governor. I dont want to get into that, thank you. Tucker the british anderson that we are talking about at all. So instead he pretended to take a phone call, watch this. Justin fairfax. I understand. Do you believe oh, really . Do you believe that or not . Go ahead . Do you believe Justin Fairfax, the accuser . Excuse me. Youre not on the phone. Excuse me, sir. Im asking you a question. Tucker believeallwomen not so much, not accusing all women anyway. What is the standard, anyway. April an advisor to both of the clinics and i want to say two things in preface, number one, you are not one of the people saying that we have to believe all women simply because they are women. We checked the tape actually so good for you. But many in your party made that case on the specific question of Sexual Assault. They said its not like bank fraud or even regular basalt but very different category and people who have been victims of it must be believed automatically, and if you dont believe them, people said this, emotional and you are massaging it. But that standard is not being upheld with this woman. Why is that my wonder . I do think if we apply that standard, it should be applied to the women who have accused President Trump of Sexual Misconduct too, right . I hope there is a quality tucker let me just say im not advocate for that standard. I think people lie about everything. I have seen it. People are fraud most people tell the truth and sunlight. So i dont think we should have that ever. But democrats disagree with me, people who claim Sexual Assault should be believed automatically but they are not believing in this woman automatically so what is the standard . Democrats act pretty quickly with evidence not all that and kind of the grand scheme of things. They got him out. Talk about a rising star. Tucker and i defended him. Richard to your credit. And the other thing about laws he poured, and they believe her in the context of she put a second front door on her house e was traumatized by what she said Brett Kavanaugh did to her but how many people have two front doors on their house . Tucker that is not the case they made actually, wrongfully we learned about a second door which was actually for business, but whatever it was four, maisie and that woman from new york a senator running for president , Kristen Gillibrand said i believe her because shes telling the truth. I believe her because she is telling the truth. They are like, who is this women, who cares what she thinks, why doesnt anyone defend her or talk to her . Or democrats talking to her do you think . Richard look id we will see. The evidence if anything more than we have seen, democrats will have to make a decision. I think what they were talking about blaze he poured, donald trump mocking blaze he poured at a rally and before tv audience, mocking her tucker they didnt like it, im not here to defend that, but why, maisie said that women always tell the truth, why hasnt she called this woman on the phone and asked to hear her story . Richard i think there is evidence, what Lieutenant Governor, that might or may not become governor. Tucker does that change the nature of the crime . Richard but may be bow on Brett Kavanaugh but she doesnt have to vote on Justin Fairfax. Tucker Justin Fairfax is a more reliable than the government he replaced. So there is no political cost to democrats. All they care about his politics and winning and being in charge. Power is the only thing that matters to them so i pretend otherwise . Speak to the president or curing the attorney general beat fairfx when ran in a democratic primary for attorney general. He has a reliable democrat too. Not the case you have to draw the line and protect fairfax, no, theres not. So again i dont think it is a federal issue quite yet. Tucker but the rest of us are wondering because it does seem like you can kill a woman as ted kennedy did, literally kill her by negligence, run away as she drowns and you are a feminist hero. How does that work . How do i know if im behaving the way consistent with the Democratic Party abuse on women . Why do i need to do other than a support abortion . Richard again, you can pick out an example and i am not talking about grabbing women by the you know what and his boosters thought that was so boys being boys. Tucker i never met anybody who said, you know what my was on the fence until hollywood and im all in. Yes, course but in spite of that vote him. Richard boys will be boys. Tucker i never heard anybody say that. I agree with him on immigration, trade and thats why i voted for him honestly. Richard, lets get to the bottom of the story. Richard i hope we do. I hope we do. Tucker s good to see you, sir. The state of the unit less than an hour from now and the present making its way to the white house to the capital. And we will continue our coverage after the break. Ah, the old crew remember when we all used to go to the cafeteria and just chow down midday . You mean, like, lunch . Come on. Voted most likely to help people save 668 when they switch. At this school . Didnt you get caught in the laminating machine . Ha. [ sighs ] box, have a great summer. Danielle. Ooh. Danielle, control yourself. Id like to slow it down here with a special discount for a special girl. Danielle, this ones for you. My teemotionally, socially. Very sore spot for me,l. If i wouldve known that i was gonna be 50 times happier. I wouldve gone into aspen dental much sooner. It was a very life changing experience. And it felt like i was me again. Thats when i realized i hadnt been for three years. At aspen dental were all about yes. Like yes to flexible hours and payment options. Yes to free exam and xrays for new patients without insurance. And yes whenever youre ready to get started, we are too. Call 1800aspendental today. And the army taught me a lot about commitment. Which i apply to my life and my work. At comcast were commited to delivering the best experience possible, by being on time everytime. And if we are ever late, well give you a automatic twenty dollar credit. My name is antonio and im a technician at comcast. Were working to make things simple, easy and awesome. Tucker the president is still at the white house at this hour. Hes leaving in a minute capitol hill where he will deliver the state of the Union Address. Senate democrats blocked an antibill that would have protected children who somehow survived abortion. They were not a lot but there are some in this category. The republican band introduce legislation and multiple legislation that makes it possible to have an abortion right to the end of the third trimester and dilation but the republican with the option to bring the bill of for a boat but will they . Following this story, he joins us tonight, hey, brett. This behind me, this is the official, the seal of the president of the United States. This is the official state of the you and coming position. Tucker wow, that feels a little bare tonight, which i think. Brett may be because im a little smaller than you might have thought. I should point out what that bill did was to say if a child wanted or unwanted somehow born and wants abortion, should get medical care. And obviously should not be put to death. And the democratic objection to it, you know, we have laws against killing and so this was not needed to. But this was a little bit more than that. It did require medical attention rather than have a doctor say, well, after consulting with the mother as Ralph Northam described. The kid is in bad shape, just let the Little Critter died. That would be forbidden by this bill. And single unanimous consent to proceed on the senate floor. And they didnt get it. Took one senator to do it. And so that is where we are. Patty murray. Tucker even people who are worried about roe v. Wade or supporting earth and the first trimester might wonder what would be the objection with a bill that says you have to give medical care to a child who needs medical care . Brit well that is a hard question to answer. And the Democratic Party has had a bad week on this issue and others because first you have that bill passed in new york which basically allows abortion to almost the moment of birth. And they cheered the passage of that. That is where if you found it necessary for some medical reason i cant imagine but if there were such a reason you would pass it soberly and with regret it was needed. Tucker right. Brit that was not the reaction. We are reaching the point in this country where one party doesnt simply think abortion should be allowed and sometimes necessary. They think abortion should be celebrated. We are now at the point we are in the neighborhood of 60 million abortions. Those are human lives, no one doubts that, snuffed out on their way to birth because we allow it. And we allow it later in pregnancies than many other countries do. This is the latest example of it. Then comes along dr. Northam, Governor Northam describing a process where the child is born from a resuscitated if necessary, made comfortable, so a light for sure, and then a discussion would ensue between the mother and the doctor about and only thing i can possibly refer to, whether they will let the baby live or not. And he claims thats not what he meant and then his further misfortunes ensued after that and we have another issue as you have been talking about, the Justin Fairfax. Two issues with the democrats not helpful to them abortion and race and out against them it seems to me. Tucker health care is a week human right they tell us unless uniquely aboard. Yeah, i think it is too far, but brit hume great to see you. Brit good luck, tucker. Tucker after the state of the union, Stacey Abrams, she ran for governor of georgia. Who is Stacey Abrams in case you are not familiar and what does she advocate . Lisa joins us speak to, she ran for governor in 2018 against brian and she lost but the reason tonight, Chuck Schumer would love to see her run for senate in 2020 against david pursue david purdue. So the Democrat Party would like to see georgia more competitive for a president ial race, and a strong canada on the ballot statewide would help democrats in that effort but further since she lost her gubernatorial bid for governor, she started this group called fair fight. As you know Voter Suppression ran against it with a campaign of her and gubernatorial bid. But those accusations did not hold water because if you look at if the midterm elections in georgia reached near historic levels also leading up to the election. There was historic amount of voters registered to vote. For a lot of things she took issue with the purging of the voter rule, those were existing levels that were sufficient similar law in ohio upheld by by this report. For the laptop despite craddicks legislature and signed into law by democratic governor. Tucker interesting. So how was that Voter Suppression. Im always fascinated by republicans inability to push back. Did any republicans push around that point that you are aware of . Lisa there has been republicans night making fun of her for nonconcession speech. She said that democracy failed georgia, but as i pointed out, it didnt. Another thing interesting tonight about her giving the democratic response is just how far the party has shifted. Because there is this controversy over Bernie Sanders also giving his state of the response the response tonight, but, there is not a lot of daylight betweens stacy abrams policies and his. She supports single payers. She said she advocated illegal immigrant voting and that would be a pathway for the blue way. And when she was in the state legislature in georgia, she cosponsored legislation that would ban certain weapons and also opened the door for con compensation. Theres not a lot of daylight between her policy and Bernie Sanders. It is sort of interesting to me the Democratic Party in this controversy and uproar over Bernie Sanders giving his own response when her policies and her position arent that different from his. Tucker you are very oldfashioned. This is identity politics, lisa for the democrats. Lisa it is weird now Howard Schultz seems like a modern so the times have changed my friend. Tucker identity politics is not a bad issue. Thank you very much. Lisa thanks, tucker have a great night. Tucker state of the union no less than an hour away from a 45 minutes from now, the president about to part from the white house. Apparently the president us to announce summit with kim jong un north green leader february 27th28 in vietnam dunking and site of the famous military base there. The 27th and 28th. Probably get more details in just a minute. Continuing coverage of the state of the union and demands the president give it, not necessarily person but in some way to tell the country how it is doing. Input both parties, we have done that every year. But this year, some House Democrats dont think you want to watch the speech. Listen. He is not worthy of being listened to. I dont know why anybody would want to Pay Attention to anything he has to say. Im not looking forward to the state of the union. I think people will turn the television off. Tucker there is one nonpan onto record. Mike at the capitol, mike. Tucker i can come from House Speaker nancy pelosi walked by. She is making her way into the House Chamber but they will not attend the president state of the Union Address, oral blumenauer of oregon, steve from tennessee, hank johnson from georgia, Frederick Luke wilson from georgia, and congressman al green of texas. In terms of gas highprofile law makers to the state of the Union Address, cory booker the senator from new jersey has invited the man received a life sentence in 2003 for nonviolent drug offense and was released last month under the first step act. Hawaii congressman bringing Syrian Kurdish leader who is an advocate for peace in syria. New york showed up and with a transgendered Navy Lieutenant commander putting the spotlight lgbtq issues in california senator mullah harris with surviving the massive thomas fire in a furloughed air Traffic Controller specialist, and a club which are bringing the mother of a young man who died from diabetic ketoacidosis because he could not afford insulin. Massachusetts worn, hud employee for the shutdown. President trump invited a guest include a man a sixthgrader from delaware with the last name of trump who has bullied for it and that has been a big focus of combating bullying for alani at home, tucker. Tucker symbolic politics alive and well, thank you very much. But also real issues come apparently that will be addressed tonight, the president will bring up trade infrastructure, health care. We will hear those in his speech tonight. The central topics of course will be immigration and the wall the president would like to build according to excerpts of his speech obtained by fox news. The president will describe as a class issue. No issue better illustrates the divide between americas working class and americas political class. Wealthy politicians and donors push for open donors while living lies behind walls and gates and guards. Scary but true. The Border Patrol under the previous president president obama, he joins us tonight, thank you very much for coming on. I dont think anybody would dispute the quote we read. What should the president say tonight to make you think about immigration . I think it is important that he further goes into detail what he told the American People from the oval office as well as what he talked about when he reopened the government. I think it will be important he talks about his plan, its not just his plan. It is the plant the experts provided him of the Infrastructure Technology and personnel, right . The experts, they have had this plan for a very long time for decades. This has been their plan. And i think he needs to make sure he explains that and clarify some talking points that have been out there for the democratic side that is not wanting the wall sea to shining sea. And if you think about that, actually read his plan and 5. 7 billion is only 230 miles of additional barrier. If you add what we already have, that still leaves a thousand miles of the border that does not have a barrier. I hope hes able to talk to the facts. And the American People really understand what his plan is. He supports what they want technology and the democrats want more personnel. So i hope hes actually able to get that across to them. Tucker it does not seem like a hard debate to win but are you aware of any university recognize experts on Border Security advising the democrats of the planned . Mark no, actually for example conference committee. I try to get them to listen to tom homan or myself. I cant get in there. They just tucker but you ran it under obama. Tucker that is right. I dont understand it, tucker. That is the part that is so frustrating. You have democrats saying what they think we need a long southwest border instead of listening to the experts on Border Security. Here is the tools we need. And if you ask him about the tools, they will never say that the barrier is a they will never say that, the experts but a part of multilayer approach but they are not listening. Although i will cite 2006 they listened and 2013 the Senate Passed bipartisan bill. All of that had physical barriers included in it but now, since its immoral, ineffective. Tucker again, this is not a hard debate to win. Mark its not. Tucker mark, thank you for your expertise. Mark thank you. Tucker . Tucker the prize talking about it for 20 years and one of the issues where he could potentially come it should, any weight gain democratic support Many Democrats talking about for 20 years as well, watching the whole time and anchor and Global Markets editor at fox and Fox Business Network and the most popular person in the building and she joins us, so maria, you make the point this could potentially be the one issue bipartisan. Maria well, look to my china has been an issue for the democrats for a long time as you said, tucker. We will see what the president says about china tonight. This is one of the most important issues he can talk about tonight. Obviously, usual suspects on the agenda, immigration, trade, infrastructure, Prescription Drug prices, but when you are talking about trade, the china talks well beyond trade. I will be speaking secretary of state mike pompeo at 7 00 a. M. And i will ask him about the militarys military side of china. What you have going on is Confucius Centers in and around Silicon Valley asking about a feeding place where sharing research and people working at stanford back to Confucius Centers. A lot of sharing information going on with china away from trade. There is also espionage. How is the world going to trust china when spying going on . They are talking with african countries and saying look, we will set up infrastructure and thin tapping into the entire information and intelligence. They did that with poland, by the way. Then the issue of usmca, nasa twopoint oh. Will the president give us news on that tonight . Those that have spoken with to say im not voting for it in the form that it is. If we cannot see usmca past, aim major blow for the administration because if we cant get a deal done with canada and mexico, what does that mean for the europeans and what does that mean for other countries at the president is trying to do deals with . I think trade is one of the most important issues the president can discuss tonight and we will see what he says. The china story is so much bigger than the chinese buying more stuff from the United States. We know china is willing to open up market on social services but what about the Manufacturing Base . We know china wants to buy more soybeans and more grain but what about the technology . These are the important issues. We will see if the president brings these topics up with the other list of items. Tucker it seems like one of those areas if you were a traditional democrat, anyway, if you are sharon brown of ohio, what do you say about that . No im against the entire length of my career and you make a good point. 7 00 a. M. Tomorrow fox business, you are speaking to secretary pompeo. Maria thank you so much, tucker. Tucker some of us will be watching. The white house, parked right out front the president waiting his entry and they will speed over to capitol hill and then come up course, Senate Majority leader Mitch Mcconnell of the United States shaking nancy pelosi hand, and the president being the head of the ceremonial senate and the tiebreaker. Civics lesson over to this, politicians put on the scene with Health Care Coverage and health care because for decades and the president may weigh into that tonight in his speech. Do the two parties have anything in common on the question of health care, Trace Gallagher joins us on that, trace for the president talked about administration pushed to lower drug prices, building on significant momentum because its despite the factcheck frenzy every time mr. Trump talks numbers the council of economic advisors has come from the president s claim that duris save 26 billion on prescription medication. The president also lobbied some Major Pharmaceutical Companies not to raise their drug prices last summer, and because of easing regulations and speeding up approvals in fiscal 2018, the fda approved more generic drugs than ever before. Tonight, you will likely hear the president with the next step which is to eliminate rebates. That is money paid by drug manufacturers to make sure their drugs are covered by Health Insurance companies so that pharmacies can easily sell them to consumers. Health and Human Services secretary alex azar say read rates drive up the cost and some medical experts disagree. On the meantime their rallying cries clearly medicare for all with the goal of scrapping private insurers in favor of government run health care. There are a few iterations of Single Health care but the common denominator is higher taxes and as former new york mayor Michael Bloomberg says medicare for all will bankrupt us for a very long time. Tucker. Tucker a very long time. Trace gallagher, thank you so much for that information. Well, the Trump Presidency quite a response for the Democratic Party. Advocating in many cases policies considered far too radical, even entering the Obama Administration two and a half years ago. During the democratics Campaign Among other things, medicare for all come at the top tax rate of 90 of prenew deal to ban fossil fuels within 12 years shut down americas Burning Energy industry and make commercial air travel impossible and make your car or illegal. The ship so profound the majority of democratic voters told pugh last month they think they are party should be more moderate, should it be more moderate . The communications senator for harry reid joins us now and even as he joins us you are watching the president of the United States enter his vehicle to pennsylvania avenue to congress. Thank you for joining us tonight. You bet, happy to be here. Tucker this is not where i would argue Democratic Leaders two years ago wanted to be, losing control over their own party, having people like alexandria ocasiocortez set the goals for the party. How concerned is nancy pelosi, and other elders and the party by the direction . I dont think i would define it as at all at losing control. There is a robust discussion and when we have talked about before that needs to take place at this moment in time. So im one of the many people who is actually excited about the primary that we have coming up, the diverse candidates that we have come up to the plate. They bring a variety of ideas that are worthy of public debate. So we are expanding beyond the typical republican talking points and democratic tucker i agree with you. Trace and im looking for solutions for problems. Tucker i am for that and i have a lot of crazy ideas that are right in some warrants but i think it is a ring. I completely agree and that is why i cant stand the censorship. But some of these ideas are probably nonstarters, shutting down the entire Energy Industry and banning fossil fuels which would man commercial air travel, i mean, that is not a thing anybody supports, right . Jon i dont think they are talking about shutting down energy because we will always need energy but dirty fossil fuels to clean energy. That is where we are. President trump talked a lot about how he would put coal miners back to work. Close the first two years of the presidency than the entire first year of obama and that is because we are making a shift to clean energy. Tucker that is called natural gas and the biggest producer of the world, natural solar and natural land. Tucker but that is not why coal is nonviable mostly because of natural gas and the Green New Deal would mandate closing every natural gas while in the country within 12 years and every coal mine in every oil well. So that would mean no more airplanes and less you can think of solar airplane. That is a radical thing, no . Not every policy proposal. It will be perfectly baked when they bring it up. Speed when i get it but look i want to round up everyone who disagrees with me and put them in prison, it is so radical. Somebody would say, get out. Jon a different type of radical. Tucker it is crazy banning cars and airplanes in 12 years . Shutting down for a viable part of our economy . Why doesnt anybody say im sorry, no one says that. Tucker jon nobodys talkit banning airplanes, but cleaner, more efficient ways of fueling those things. And so come i think there is a lot more we are in agreement on as we look at President Trump set to talk about tonight what democrats are standing for. There is common ground. And criminal Justice Reform which we know he will talk about tonight, obviously a big issue for democrats for a long time, infrastructure, you know, dominoes right now is actually paying to fill potholes. That is not dominos pizzas problem. Tucker the government can take care of the infrastructure, why have the government but the mandate from both Democratic Leaders is unless it forwards the claimant agenda, it we are not doing it. Jon that is not true at all. No such mandate exist. Tucker Chuck Schumer said that out loud just the other day. If not for infrastructure, with the claimant agenda. Really . How about you keep my bridges from falling down . Jon i think most people in america support a good infrastructure and get dominoes out of the whole thing of being in charge. Tucker thank you very much, good to see you. So some of this is pretty radical. Is there a message for democrats, hemingway has been considering this. Can you went on for stuff and by the way, things seem crazy, seem normal if you say them enough. Im not sure what the answer is. What do you think . And it is true the idea people have been putting up they are the last few decades is not that great and great to have a fresh look. But in this case extremely radical ideas to harm people liberty as well. We talk how unrealistic it is to ban cars were to pay him air place within 12 years and would destroy the economy and job creation. And that has real effects on people. So im not sure it will go over well for democrats to be pushing those ideas. You have medicare for all which sounds good, more of a sentiment then a policy idea, but you talk about destroying the economy or banning cars or doing these things that have real problems. I dont think there is much of a market for that. It doesnt make sense for people why they should accept something that would tax them to high heaven and destroy any chance they are children will have jo jobs. Tucker at some point if you have someone telling you you need to literally destroy the most powerful sector, the energy sector, radically increase the scope of entitlement and they make everyone on planet earth eligible for the entitlements, what youre talking about advocating for the structure of the country. Mollie it is a tremendous threat to our government and to our country. And it is a good way of thinking about whats happening for the Democratic Party right now. Obviously they did well midterms and took back the house, but a lot of excitement is with the people who have ideas they have not particularly thought through. Bernie sanders running, and even the New York Times said his policy proposals not well thought through and compared to alexandria ocasiocortez, he was brilliant and thinking through these policies. Tucker i think they are very well thought through. These policies designed towards the country and advocated by people who hate the country and i think the aim is clear. If you love the country you would not propose this. Mollie they appeal to some people but not generally appealing. Tucker that is true. Molly, great to see you. A little news for you, minor details as we await the president s speech. We learned the secretary of Energy Rick Perry from the governor of texas named tonights designated survivor. That means the secretary who will set out the speech. The people who run the country are gathered in one large group under the dome tonight but not rick perry. The white house, by the way, said the president will focus National Security and no shortage of topics to address. The propose withdrawal from syria, the peace talks in afghanistan. The nuclear program, those are three of them. Brandy wright a democrat in Central Intelligence agency, good to see you. Good evening. So if you were scripting this speech, for the president , which of these would you hit hardest . I would have him focus on china. Because what i know from talking to folks in the military and intelligence committee, we are already in a low grade war against the chinese. And that needs to be framed to the American People. They need to understand what we face and how hard it will be. They need to understand that is why we are engaged in this trade war, which, by the way has been very successful. I want him to focus on that piece. Second, i want him to talk about why we need to untangle ourselves from these wars we have been involved in. It no longer serves the National Interest where we just cant get the job done, right . We have seen this in afghanistan come around about a trillion dollars in spending including 8 billion for afghan the air force that does not particularly function. Yet we cant find 5 billion to fund a wall. We need to frame these mistakes, challenges and that way and we need to talk about syria as well which you referenced earlier. And we need to have a clear understanding that 2,000 troops will not solve the searing crisis. So i would say those three and certainly north korea as well will round out my big concerns that i want him to express to the American People. Tucker but china would be the center you said to, and im wondering because the point made about china and the point the president often makes about china or hard to dispute, the greatest strategic rifle and a spy on the country and take a lot of industrial secrets and use them to beat us in the marketplace and et cetera, et cetera. Do you think he will find sympathetic among democrats when and if he says that . Bryan well, i sure hope not, certainly as a democrat because there is no real space and shouldnt be in the party for having a compassionate or understanding perspective for the Chinese Government and quite frankly for the Chinese People other than they are existing under the tyranny of the yolk of the communist regime and that needs to be part of that focus as well, the American People to 1 billion folks suffering under a communist regime. Tucker that is something you rarely hear about brian, great to talk to you, thank you. Bryan my pleasure, brother. Tucker dozens of democrats in congress have said that they would gladly support or impeachment of president. Some of them are dereks night, some of them or not but surprised as you watch, many in the room are wearing white this evening. Why are they doing that . Henry has the answer to almost any question you could conceive zip conceivably asked. Henry the photo on the left shows it a lot of ranking House Democrats wearing white and we are told because they have organized with Speaker Nancy Pelosi a socalled white out. They did some of this as well. Tucker tucker i have not confirmed any specific songs, but what i can tell you, they ds during the capital hearing and it is a sign, they say, the democrats supporting all women. And they want to show the president , clearly, who will be looking straight at them, that they support women. Now, it is interesting because experts from the president s remarks and he says, all americans can be proud that we have more women in the workforce than ever before. So that is one quick excerpt so the white house knew Something Like this was coming and he will address it that he supports women in the workforce. He wants equal pay, those kinds of things to say, look, this is for show obviously and alexandria ocasiocortez and social media posing with her guests tonight who she gave a ticket to. It is the activists who confronted senator jeff leak in that elevator during the confirmation process over Sexual Assault issues. And had a video camera. And it went viral and all of that. And so political points are being made. They will also have elsewhere in the house gallery former employees of various dock to have problems with their legal status. Tucker the democrats bringing people here illegally . Henry it they are bringing them inside the chamber illegally to make a political point, yes. The white house will push back in point by having ice agency in the chamber to say some of the democrats have said they wanted to obliterate, to get rid of. Tucker is anyone in washington enforcing policies or is everything symbolic display . Henry it is pretty rare, as you know. In fact this Bipartisan Committee to solve all the problems around immigration. They have met once, maybe twice. Initially the democrats say everything is on the table. That was the democratic chair and within 24 hours the speaker of the house nancy pelosi front and center said, the wall is not on the table. No money for the wall. And so to your question about symbolism, they say everything is on the table on immigration and Border Security. Within 24 hours speaker says no. Tucker henry, thank you for that. Henry as always. Tucker we have 1 30b for the president and we will hand it over but we will presume to commit come back and some it tonight. It is hard to summarize a speech you havent heard yet. Tucker it was a trick question. Brit it does seem to me what the president says tonight will be these speeches, this is the 43rd that i have covered in one way or another. They really produce memorable moments for more than a few days. And i dont know that this will be any different. And i think coming up or two things that will turn out to be more important for this presidency and the future prospects. One of course, he there he can get out of the shut down business is facing again with some money for a wall in a deal he can claim as a victory. The second thing, to make a deal with china on trade that will take the china standoff out of the danger range for the u. S. Economy and give him a better chance of having this economy still going briskly along when reelection comes around next year. And i think those two things rank high. And we want to hear what he has to say about those two issues. In an effort to make a deal to extend further concessions or the further concessions to the democrats on Border Security and immigration. Hes got a lot of room to move there. And i think he would be kind of do it if he thought he would get reception. Tucker the trinity was the key. You hear it all the time. Thank you so much. We will be back tomorrow. The cover it with the state of the union come up with britt and marcia, have a great day. Brit thank you. The one we are just now minutes away from President Trump state of the Union Address. Always a big moment in washington, but for this president , this moment a new democraticcontrolled house in President Trump already looking ahead to 2020, it is a very big moment, good evening im bret baier. And Martha Maccallum so the president is in the capitol building. We watch the motorcade moments ago ready to deliver the third address to congress as president of the United States in this speech supposed to take place a week ago, pushed back because of the partial government shutdown. That shut down to come up as democrats continue negotiations over future
