This is a policy that is in inhumane, they are tactics used through history by the worst purveyors of pure evil including slave traders, including nazis and terrace. I think its a function of the fact that, for a long time at least with respect to the innercity, liberals have taken the political clout with respect to blacks. If they get 90 or less of the black vote, they cant win. And they had too look for a new block of voters and the hope that by creating the favor of Illegal Immigrants coming over, somehow this will help great favor with hispanic voters and they have this new loyal voting block. Its not quite working out that way but i think thats the impetus behind the attention and thecl abandonment of blacks. Why work for the black vote if you will know you are going to get 90 . And if you look at the politics, in fact its mire to blacks in poverty. You look at the crime rates and educational levels, all of their policies have either kept black progress static, or there has been a regression. In my neighborhood, i havent seen cnn or msnbc in 24 7 like i have with respect to the alleged outrages at the border. The important thing, the interesting thing here is, ironically the issue of the day, immigration. If you look at the policy prescriptions of the democrats on the left, they actually have a linear correlation to many of them maladies and issues in the black community. Its attributable to illegal immigration and the competition. That has family formation issues because people who arent married or people who arent employed are less likely to get married. They are also less likely to be incarcerated. When we talk about the family separation, this year alone, 4,500 black kids will be separated from their families because their mothers are called to be incarcerated. Not for on average a few hours, like 30 of the immigrants on the border of being separated. Thats not what we are hearing. Its usually adjusted within a few hours. In contrast, the black kids will be separated from their mothers for several years. Ot they may not know their mothers during their childhood at all. Again, i dont hear Public Policy being adjusted because of that. I dont hear prize from the left on this. Tucker thank you. Great to see you. My district includes not only houston but laredo, mcallen, brownsville and corpus christi. What we have seen over the last four years as a fivefold increase, 75,000 family units crossing the border and its mainly concentrated in the mcallen area. So what the attorney general memo said was, prosecutable cases by Border Patrol and thats exactly what were doing. Tucker so from your perspective, and you are one of the keepers of the numbers on this. The incidence of family units trying to cross over illegally has risen dramatically it sounds like . It has. And for the last decade, the attorney general has he said to come a magic wand was waived over people who crossedth illegally with children and they for the most part were not referred to with prosecution. To clarify something that i believe is being misstated and misinterpreted, the department of justice, my office, is not involved at all. The people present themselves at one of the bridges to claim asylum legally. We are getting referrals from Border Patrol and other agencies and catch people who are crossing the border illegally. They can then make their asylum claim or any other claim they believe they have after their prosecution. , the zerotolerance policy that was rolled out back in april by the attorney general says that all people are to be treated equal under the law, which is we will take all cases referred to us by Border Patrol where there is probable cause to prosecute them.
