Obviously he offers no evidence. Keep in mind that ed bc which is passing this out to other news organizations claims itself to be a news organization. News organizations are not supposed to live. We think that is a mistake. We have no intentions of doing that particular parade in Higher Education. Again, not to return to st. Johns, but thats what i know best, our students read 200 books and i mean 200 serious books over the course of their education. In all honesty, we have about 800 students. Our students are very they know what theyre getting into and they know how hard its going to be. That is a very, very serious challenge. Tucker maybe you put your finger on it. What youre offering is a traditional education which would be familiar to a lot of well educated americans. The question is what percentage of the American Population is really suited for, interested in, should participate in a liberal Arts Education . I believe there should be a lot of diversity. You talked previously about career preparation and there is a place for that. Theres a place for people who want to get trained to do a job. We know from colleges that only about 20 of students who work on something that they majored in and you may know, we dont have majors at st. Johns. We dont think that life breaks down into majors. Again, we are just very different. The liberal Arts Education can be described as very Different Things in very different places. At st. Johns, its not required. Everyone is taking all the same courses and they are all equal rigor and demands. They are very small classes. An average of about 15 students, there is no place for them to hide. They approached me about writing a book about my faith. I hear all the time you are not afraid to share your faith. I said, they wanted me to write a memoir. Arent you 70 years old when you write a memoir . I dont have a light story life story. I dont want someone to think that i am so selfrighteous that i feel like i have so much life experience. But then they said we want you to focus on your faith. That is like god saying talk about me, and you cant say no to god. So i was really excited about that point. I have journal entries. I have written a journal for years. A lot of my journal entries are in here, things have gone through, ups and downs, how i got to fox news channel. The things that inspired me, my parents. I talk about the death of my grandparents. I lost a baby through a miscarriage. Ive had some downs but many more ups. Its just about how god has blessed my life and i cant believe i am this girl from South Carolina who is on the National News talking to tucker carlson. Tucker [laughs] oh, thats big. When you write a book, you learn, the process of writing teaches you. What did you learn . Stick i learned you can do anything you want to do. I remember when my friend said lets run a half marathon. I said are you kidding . I hate cant even run around the block without tasting blood. She said no, we can do it. Lets do more of a walk with a little bit of shuffle. I was like, i can do that. So i ran a half marathon. Write a book, write a childrens book. No, i cant do that. I have two childrens books and i have this book. Im not saying that because i m anything special. My point is you can do anything you would set your mind to and you have to be surrounded with good people. As you know. Your staff is amazing.
