Asked him to encourage his classmates to be more like him. He was shot dead on his way to a cookout saturday with his mother crystal as a way to bring the Community Together and combat violence. His death this weekend was not an isolated incident. These children also fatally shot in the violent weekend across the United States. In moments, his grandfather john will join us exclusively and we will also speak to former nypd commissioner bernie kerik for a broader look at the crime surge in america tonight as major cities continue to see spikes in violence amid calls to defund the police. Lets begin tonight, founder of the d. C. Chapter of the Guardian Angel organization working with police to prevent crime and thank you for shortenin joiningr hearts go out to the loss of your grandson. Thank you for having me. Im curious, i know your daughter spent literally spends her life trying to settle these disputes between hardened criminals and in the end it costs or the life of her other young son. What are your thoughts on whats happening in cities these days . I think in the cities, you have a lot of people i just do not value life at this time. They dont realize that when you take a life, that life is not coming back. Its not like tv, you take a life and the guy shows back up in another Television Show are another movie. Its not a video game. People feel that if they have a dispute, the only way to handle it is with gun violence. I think weve got to get out here and educate young people more about why they shouldnt be picking up guns come on why guns are so violent, and then when you use a weapon and actually take somebodys life, d you are really not hurting that person emotionally, that person is gone. Hes dead. At the person you hurt is that family members that belongs to that person that you decided to take their life. Trace i think its a very strong point, sir. Its interesting because devons football coach, he was fond of saying this of these kids, their lives are being robbed over nothing and hes right because last year, devons classmates, last summer he was also shot and killed. These children in this neighborhood have to be afraid to walk outside. Trace yea yeah, we have sg people here in d. C. , and another that was a high profile guy and a 10yearold girl outside a period of july of 26 of 2018. Came out of the house to get a icecream cone and five guys jumped out of the vehicle and started shooting. She was shot and killed. At one year later, there was another young man that was not too far away from the district that was also shot and killed and he was almost 11 years old. And then youve got devon. He gets out of the car in front of his aunts house and his purpose from getting out of the car was to get his charger. Just a charge his phone because his phone was dead. Thats how he stays in contact with his other cousins and he gets out of the car in the shots rang and he hits the ground and crystal looks and says get out. He doesnt get up so she goes and sees whats going on and realizes that he was hit with one of the bullets that was being shot. If you know, going in that direction and then she realizes as she gets over there. Of trace these types of heartrending stories, there are five other families going through the same very thing rigt now. I want to put up the quote from black lives matter d. C. And get your opinion because i know youre in Law Enforcement. If thats our neighborhood. 533 million budget should be defunded because you cant keep us and our family safe. Police department was around when this was happening and we are beyond fed up with the blood in ours streets and how dare you ask mayor bowser for more money for prevention. We know we mentioned at the top being involved in Law Enforcement and policing for much of your life. What you respond to black lives matter when they say things like this . Your right, most of my life like a Guardian Angel and started doing this at the age of 14 in new york city. I came to d. C. And got in a group when i was 19, im now 50. 11 years ago, i started a special Police Company called archangel Global Security of washington, d. C. , in Law Enforcement on a property that we work. For that response, i dont agree. If you can take money from the Police Department. We need the police, you take the police from there and we wind up having less Police Officers in the street and less detectives. If its not going to work. Crime is going to get worse. You need police to run those halls and you start having less Police Officers, whos going to come when there is a need for Police Services . I will say, we have to find money for Additional Services that everybody would like to have. There are calls that come in to the Police Department that should not go to the police. If you know, certain calls should go to other agencies that can deal with may be Mental Health or those calls when it comes to ticketing here in d. C. , we have properties and officers special police and security calls for ticketing instead of the Police Taking a call. The Company Comes down and takes the car so the money goes to those different agencies. When you get the money from . We have millions of dollars that are generated through red light cameras. Of speed cameras. Other ways that we receive money in the d. C. Metropolitan area. Why cant we get money through those agencies . To remove money from the Police Department, i think is not good. Although face talk about taking police and security on schools, thats a big mistake. I tell you, the one time i think it was a couple years ago they were talking about lets arm the teachers in the schools, and these guys have no good training. But now you want to take the Police Officers out of schools . Are you all serious . Were going to have another in the schools. Do not take the police out. Trace fair assessment. Lastly, you hear about the crimes and i know there have been ceasefires in these neighborhoods over and over again, but they never hold. You talk about the National Spotlight of black on black crime and do you believe that its getting enough attention in this country . Trace i believe it is getting enough attention and dit really has. But i think we do need more organizations, more us. When i say us, people in the black community to start going into the communities and talking to people to prevent the violence thats occurring. Also, we need to go into the community after there is some tragedy such as a shooting. A mentor, talk to other young people in our community as well. So we can prevent it from happening in the streets. Not just protests when the Police Officer hurs hurts someoe like me. I agree we have to have our voice on it because that person should be arrested if he did something wrong. But theres always one bad apple in every organization. Before going to go after the Police Officers when they heard someone that looked like me, they need to go after the people that look like me that her people that look like me if you understand. Ask. Trace i understand, very well said. Our hearts go out to you and your family. I think you your service. Thank you for the opportunity. Trace commissioner, putting up a tweet that you sent out today and you can kind of expound on that if you could. If you say look at their quotas, look very good at. The five children who lost their lives around the country. Where the black lives matter thugs and extortionists and their funding the Democratic Party and overseeing the cities where the kids were murdered. If you want to expound on that and theres the picture and we should look at these closely because these happen this weekend. Five. There were six or seven we believe, were working on the pictures up as well, but your thoughts on whats happening across . You know what , if black lives matter, what really matters are the two black lives matter and the organization, you had seven and close to 80 people shot in 14 days in chicago. We had 44 shots in new york and 28 shots, four shots in atlanta, three denning cleveland. I dont see no marches there. I dont see no protest. I dont see no screaming and yelling. I dont see anything from black lives matter. There is systemic slaughter of black on black members of communities all over the country that are led by democrats. Of those cities led by democrats and if you go and heres my point to the funding issue. If you go to the lines Organization Websites when you donate money, it goes to actively. Act blue is a private city that gives tens of millions of dollars to democratic parties. Wheres that money going . Back to the communities where they oversee the cities that, you know, the systemic slaughter of blacks. And its got the stop. Youre talking to john about the policing problem, there isnt enough cops. Just not enough in these communities like atlanta. Like chicago, theres not enough enforcement. As it stands today, thats why you have these crime numbers. They need more resources. They need better manpower, more manpower. Trace we should know, the city oversaw crime up 205 and bear doubl bill de blasio whosg its in part because of coronavirus, and the effects of people being cooped up too long. Thoughts on that . Delusional, thats what my thoughts are. He cut 600 men and women out of the playin plainclothes in the. They slowl take guns off the st, thats where theyre designated for, theyre like chameleons in plain clothes where they can go into the communities and look for guns and get the bad guys. He took them off the streets and its only going to get worse from this point forward. Far worse. Trace im running low on time but i want to show the video and i think its worth it. This is Surveillance Video captured a man was fatally shot while crossing a broad street on saturday. He was handinhand with a 6yearold daughter. He died of course, the daughter is fine. But when you see Something Like this, its unbelievable to have this happening on the streets of new york city. Trace, this is broad daylight and number one and number two. You know 1 one what, we turned new york into the safest largest city in the world. Bill de blasio has knocked it back 30 years. 30 years. Something has to change. I would urge the governor to wake up, stop washing his car or do whatever hes doing in albany, and get to new york city and fix it. Trace former nypd commissioner, good to see you, sir. Trace Vice President mike pence can bring the white house front of iris taft first meeting waited eight and a spike in new covid19 cases and 32 states. Texas, florida, especially hardhit hitting records numbers over the Holiday Weekend in texas setting a new record hospitalization as of tonight. White house correspondent kevin corke following the latest from washington. Kevin. Good evening, little doubt this is the administration effort to show that, yes, hes paying attention to the latest spike in cases by having more Task Force Meetings but its clear for now that its not on a wartime footing that should keep the country from reopening the economy because as was also heard, it doesnt mean a spike in the death rate. Ultimately thats whats important. It Vice President talking in the tweet there is a very good meeting of the white house Coronavirus Task force and as we see cases rice in some areas, we are ensuring that states have exactly what they need to respond to the increase. We put the health of the American People first and get through this together. That tweet of course coming after a brush of tweets by the president talking about the expanded testing in our country one of the principal reason for the spike in cases and that the mortality rate continues to fall. Press secretary was asked about that today the White House Press briefing. What the president was pointing to and im glad you brought it up, the factual statement and then its rooted in science on that pointing out the mortality in this Country Contracting covid which is why the administration has fought hard to make sure thats not the case with a horse doric response while its true, the death rate continues to fold increase in hospitalizations and see mention is of great concern and infect so much so that some states including texas, florida, arizona, began to roll back some of the lax restrictions. Trace kevin corke live in washington, thinking now. Dr. Scott atlas, senior fellow at the Hoover Institution of sanford and chief of neuroradiology. Good to see a period of im curious, if theres no reason to panic, whats the premise of that . First of all, no panic when they disqualifying themselves from the position. That i want to talk about the data. If i only see the focus on more cases. It doesnt really matter how cases and only matters who gets the cases. We know that the infection and fatality rate for people under somebody is 0. 04 less than the seasonal flu. They cases themselves should not be and were never the focus. If its only the drastic consequences of the cases. When we look at the cases in every state, the overwhelming majority are younger and healthier people. If i think in florida, the median age is 36, and texas at something similar 30. Thats what were thinking about here, and i think it only matters if we can only protect the high risk people which we are refractin protecting. How do i know, death rates are going up. I realize we have to wait to have see the story play out here, but right now, the cases are going up or three weeks and we have no increase in effect we have a decrease in death rates. You know, it doesnt matter if you get the illness if youre going to fully recover and define from it. Thats what people must understand. For younger healthier people, theres not a higher risk at a all. Trace interesting to me, you talk about the death rate and i know its a lagging indicator, but a lot of the tests are leading indicators and some people are not getting the test result for a seven, eight, nine days in the death rates are only linking by a few days. When you say that theyre getting younger people its a good thing and when the cdc comes out and says that ten times the number of people who have been confirmed to have had covid19, thats probably the amounts that had it and we applaud those number like thats a great thing because that lowers the case mortality rate. If we talk about new cases and everybody tends to panic a little bit. Thats true, and i think theres Something Else that was unspoken. When you have a lot of low risk people get the infection, thats how you generate population immunity. This is the socalled herd immunity and people at and thinking about the number of people by the way that have had the immunity because immunity is not just based on antibodies, its on a larger number of people called the p cell immunity. I want to comment on the hospitalizations because when you look more than superficially at the data which is necessary and should be demanded from our Public Health officials, when you look at texas for instance, yes, they have a lot of people in the hospital. When i look at every single Hospital Area in texas today, 1520 of people in the hospital as inpatients are covid possible patients. That means 8085 have nothing to do with covid19. The same thing goes with some of the other states and there are people hospitalized and a large number because they are tested at as covid positive, somehow that categorizes hospitalization and thats a problem. Trace its interesting, youre exactly right. You see headlines in Los Angeles Times in Riverside County hospital 99 capacity and you read into the article only 30 are covid patients, its a bit misleading. If i want to put the numbers on the screen from the gallup poll because it says people are concerned and if you look at this you got 19 who are very worried about the lack of social distancing totaling 54 because 35 are moderately worried. In the case numbers go up, dr. Atlas, but clearly we are doing something wrong. What we are doing wrong, we have run people in charge of the state and they dont seem to understand that its not the superficial analysis that comes. When they make the error that they should beyond now is not consolidating the data in a critical manner, they need to communicate to people what the facts are. Its not to turn to panic, not a high risk disease for people under 70, and it certainly not a highrisk diseasefree people under 30 or 40 who almost all recover. We have to look at that. By the way, these policies almost like reopening and some of the states, that the scene of them correlate timewise to the new cases. What correlates the new cases is that the social mingling is the large protests that were in the large cities. Some of it goes was unspoken and not the guy getting his haircut in. That created all the thousands of cases. Trace the data is leading that way. If dr. Scott atlas, good of you to join us. Thank you. Okay, thank you. It was trace President Trump tweening today, causing great damage to the United States and the rest of te world and making an executive action accountable for covids toll in the u. S. Peter navarro coming up right after this. If your dry eye symptoms keep coming back, inflammation in your eye might be to blame. [ engines revving ] its amazing to see them in the wild like th shhh. For those who were born to ride, theres progressive. We got hit by the virus i came from china. China secrecy, deceptions, and cover up a lot at the over the world 189 countries. And china must be held fully accountable. Trace more than 130,000 americans lives lost and others struggling to survive financially, President Trump could take action to hold china accountable for covid19 spread in the u. S. What that might look like, peter navarro, sir, good of you to join us. If we see president and administration placing a lot of blame on china and people are beginning to wonder when the fingerpointing will stop and the consequences will start. Your thoughts . Well, lets give it some Historical Context to understand what can and should be done. For the last 20 years, china has cheated and traded in americans lost their jobs. Millions and millions and millions of jobs, President Trump was the first president to stand up to vance in one of the primary ways he has been able to recover the damages in the defined American Workers is through his tough tariff policy. In this case, we have the Chinese Communist party line going back to november when they correspond the virus in january when they hit the virus. It december, january, february, sending the virus around the neck up to this country and the ccp lied and so far over 130,000 americans have died. I think whats really important is that youve got a lot of anger, anxiety, and fear because of the china virus out there. Its being directed against each other but there is no Party Affiliation on the death certificate. This is not a domestic battle. What we need to understand that its china, the Chinese Communist party thats doing it to us. What we do about that, well, first of all, lets say hong kong is a microcosm of that. For years, years, we allowed china to use hong kong as a way to basically exploit our Financial Markets and steal our jobs but using it as a platform for trade packages. It soon, President Trump announced may 29th and the rose garden theyre going to strip every preferential treatment of hong kong away which would essentially eliminate chinas ability to use hong kong to harm us, even as were standing up to the great people of hong kong. Trace sir, if we can get back to the consequences part of this whole thing. Im curious about the consequences. Just one second, hold on once again, sir, i apologize. If mark meadows saying that the president is going to implement some executive orders this week in dealing with china and immigration and Prescription Drug prices. It will then executive order with china have an impact on the trade deal . The trade deal remains intact according to ambassador and the secretary and we are watching very, very carefully to see whether they can fulfill the items they are. It to be honest right now, the purchases are legging but we believe they will catch up by te end of the year if they keep their word. Trace, this is about a lot more and the trade deal, what its about is getting china to stop stealing our intellectual property and forcing technology and stuff like that. We know now that even as we speak there trying to steal the intellectual property for Vaccine Development for the china virus. Again, i dont want to get ahead of the president or the chief of staff but there will be a series of actions taken over the next several weeks that will hold china accountable for the damage that it is doing to the American People. Yeah, even as we speak, they are waging Information Warfare against the country. Trace i got to go, sir, i got to go. But quickly, your thoughts on june 22nd you told this show the trade deal was over. Is it over . I did not say that, when i said is that trump and the Chinese Communist party with respect to them was over so its a case and verify. Let me just trace let me just play exactly what was said. Let me play you exactly go ahead, im going to play it back for you. Sure. Do you think the president i mean, he obviously really wanted to hang onto the trade deal as much as possible. He wanted to put on the promise because there has been promise made on the trade deal. But given everything thats happened and all the things he just listed, is not over . Its over, yes. Clearly the trust and the Chinese Communist party is over. Going forward in the relationship, they cannot be trusted. We have to hold them accountable. If thats what we are going to be doing with the president , the toughest president on the Chinese Communist party that we have ever seen. Kanye should stick doing when he does best. Of making art, hes an artist and we enjoyed his work over the years. I dont enjoy his politics and frankly, i think were wasting time talking about it and its absolutely a stunt. Trace it might be pretty good. Some have been fantastic. Weve kind of taken off kanye west for president lets move the Vice President. Susan rice is the vp candidate gaining momentum, karl . This is the point that we talked about gaining momentum because we talked about them. Interesting from two angles, my perspective. One in 2008, joe biden was sold in part as the Vice President ial candidate for barack obama because he had experience in Foreign Policy. Were talking about susan rice and is she being talked about because she has expense with Foreign Policy that joe biden needs on the ticket . Interesting question. A second thing, shes an accomplished individual and the serious person. If you were chosen, she did meet the standard of the hard to define standard that shes capable if something happened to buy them. She will reinject a familiar issue with the race. She was a National Security advisor for president obama 100 biden went on the board of burisma in the same year that joe biden was put in charge of anticorruption efforts on ukraine. I discussed the issue with her. They did not have a good answer. It did they know about the hundred biden going on the board and any disk in population from the white house and to the conversation with hunter biden about it . No good answer on any of it. Trace and the answer going the morning show saying its all the video and then the Oval Office Meeting and generate 2017 involving joe biden. A lot of questions at stake in your final thoughts . There will be nothing that stops donald trump from trying to bring hunter biden into the campaign. It will fail like the campaign is going to fail. Like he failed america and just like his failing coronavirus in the economy. Whoever the democrats pick our joe biden picks to be his running mate, theyre going to be under serious attack by the right. So buckle up. I think susan rice is a very accomplished person who would be an excellent Vice President but theres a lot of people out there who would be an excellent Vice President. By august, we will know them. However, white people when it comes to murder theyre more likely to be killed by white people. Even though we disagree with people who abort so many people who dont protect the born and unburned, pray for them.
