If you look back at the comments that democrats made on the clinton impeachment, they made it clear that they should not be a partisan exercise of one party going after another. This is a kid 40 years old. Has five children i think under ten years old. Two weeks before christmas. This is a guy that took a number of guns off the streets. More and more we see, jessica, in headtohead polls that joe biden appears to be the strongest one of the pack. He was always the strongest one of the pack but the problem is the other candidates arent leading at all, the swing states they gave President Trump his 77,000 electoral win, democrats are underwater in wisconsin due to impeachment where we saw a 22point swing and approval amongst independents. But joe biden has been winning the likability war in the democratic primary. The only other person im watching, she saw a big surge almost a nine, tenpoint balance is Amy Klobuchar whos in the middle lane. She has the midwestern charm thing going for her. She has a great line where she says, i can see iowa from my window. She has some of the policies of joe biden which is incrementalism versus political revolution. Right now i think joe biden is the right candidate to beat donald trump. I disagree because ive been on the campaign trail. Ive been on the trail, ive been following joe. He can barely get people to fill a room. His campaign is trying to shield him, always trying to go out the back door per this is a guy who want to talk to people but people dont want to talk with him. When i talk to voters even though supporting him, the only support him because they feel like hes the best candidate to beat donald trump. Although he may be the strongest candidate when it comes to electability, when it comes to policy and going for those progressive values, he really isnt the strongest candidate. The democrats are going to pick him, hundred biden thing is going to come up, has been weak on it right now. Going on for weeks, should have answered. Given an interview the other day, didnt have an answer for this. I believe the campaign protecting him, media protecting him is going to hurt him when it comes to the general election. Im on the ground. They like him. They feel like hes fighting for them and hes fighting for things that matter to them. There is a point, been out there on both sides, there is an excitement for him. Same thing with barack obama for the problem is there is no democrat that has that same excitement. When you want to unseat an incumbent president , look at people who never could do that. Recently, the story caught up with derek at a home and grieving the loss of their son and brother in afghanistan. Watch this. They started this five years ago and we called it the decorated Heroes Program where we tried to take care of the local Police Officers and local veterans in our areas in red, white, and blue for families are going through hard times out of the holiday season. Josh rogers was an army ranger and he was one of our local heroes that was killed in action two and a half years ago. We have been doing their lights now, his parents and brothers and sisters for the last three years. We have heard a lot about him through his parents. He enlisted after i got out of the military but i felt like i know him. After spending so much time with his family the last three years and his sacrifice for our country will never be forgotten. This is our son Sergeant Joshua patrick rogers. Unfortunately josh and cameron and a third soldier, lieutenant Daniel Sprouse were hit and they got between the good guys and the bad guys so they caught friendly fire. It was a Successful Mission and we take comfort in that and we take comfort in knowing that it was joshs dream to be an army ranger. It keeps his story alive and people know who he is, and also we want to remind people that we have military deployed in over 150 countries. We want people to understand whats going on. And its easier to understand how these men and women are doing this across the world. Something i read once and i cant forget, every night there is somebody in a battle somewhere for us. The men that josh served with, they take a creed. So in each branch of the military they have a specific creed that they take but they all include some reference to never leave behind. To give an example of how her morally strong our military is, that means so much more than just, josh died in battle in afghanistan. When we met them, they hugged my neck and they said it, you are my mom now. That is the best thing ever for us, talking to a guy who served with josh who has some silly story about what they did. Those are some of the coolest things i have. Its important that people dont forget that the holidays can be incredibly challenging for families that are experiencing deployments. Certainly, families that have experienced loss and families that are experienced disabilities both seen and unseen. It can be a challenging season, and we met derek a couple years ago when he asked if he could put lights on the house. He kind of told us what he did and its so much more than Christmas Lights on the house. Its a smile. And its knowing that someone cares. They are certainly therefore josh, and its a gift to the entire community. Its important to a sense of complete and total confidence that he has not been forgotten.
