Of the reasons i was elected was to protect our workers and companies. I wont let that happen. We are doing tarrifs on steel. Its a fractions what have it once was. We were mistreated as a country for many years. Its not going to happen anymore. How do you avoid this escalating trade war . We have will to see. When we are behind on every country, trade wars are not so bad. Martha is the president on the right track. Will this position win him vets in america. What im losing support in the beltway and on wall street. We begin with the breaking news. John roberts joining us. The president knew that gary cohn was thinking about leaving when he made statements at the press conference about more people leaving the white house. The president and cohn met just after. That thats when cohn said lets make the announcement today. This has been rumored for week. Hit a fevered pitch last week when the president announced he would slap punitive tarrifs on foreign aluminum and steel. Gary cohn was opposed to the tarrifs. He lost that battle. I am told that cohn didnt leave because of any one thing. He didnt leave because he lost the battle on tarrifs. He is not the sort of person that will take his ball and go home because he lost a single game. There was more to it than that. He was coming to the end of what he wanted to do. He got the tax reform through and other changes. He decided it was time to move on. He appears to be leaving on good terms. The president said delivered historic tax cuts. He is a rare talent. I just got another statement. This is very interesting from the president s budget director. He said i never expected that the coworker i worked best with would be a globalist. Gary cohn is one of the smartest people i have ever worked with. There was a difference between the president and top advisors peter and gary cohn. They were all america first. He is very much a globalist. Interesting that mick said he could work closely with him. He will be here several weeks until another head comes in. When you are the chief economic aide you have to have somebody good at the helm. A couple of possibilities. Kevin hasset or if the president goes outside somebody likularly. Martha thank you very much. President trumps tarrifs proposal weighs into territory that is more comfortable for democrats. Could it provide cover for some members of the gop in a play that could swing wavering trump voters and independents back in his direction . They need voters in the steel state to stay in power. One of those senators up for reelection. Joe manchin of West Virginia. Good to have you with us. Your take on gary cohns departure and on the president sticking to this issue of tarrifs . Well, let me speak about the president s movement on tarrifs. I support 1,000 . I come from West Virginia and we were affected. Good paying jobs we lost with benefits. These are jobs people thought would never come back. President trump is giving them a chance for that to come back. We are talking about fair trade. Everybody in america is for fair trade. Freetrade hasnt worked out well for americans or american jobs. This is not about the jobs on main treat. This is wall street pushing back. Main street voted for President Trump. He is respecting that and coming through on the commitment he made to make sure that we are treated fairly throughout the world. It will bring a lot of people to the table that say we have these trade wars. I dont think that will happen. I think they will sit down and reevaluate the deals we made over the years. Martha thats what the president wants to do. The president had this on his mind for 25 years. Hes been very unhappy with the deals with japan in the 80s and china in the 90s. He sees the foot print of china in all of these steel transactions coming from china proper or funneled through other smaller countries. He said they have a much bigger foot print in the Steel Industry. He is correct. Just connect the dots. China produces 50 of the worlds supply of steel. Half of the worlds supply. We import more steel than any other nation on earth. Just connect the dots. He is exactly spot on. We have a president that has the spine to start saying, wait a minute, we have been taken advantage of for far too long. West virginia and all over ruler america have suffered. We have a chance to fight back. We want a level playing field. We will compete. If a country is going to charge us 20 to put our product in their market shouldnt we charge the same . Martha the president believes this will reopen negotiations for nafta. I agree. Martha he likes bilateral trade agreements and wants to sit down with the countries individually. Do you think he can succeed . Do you think the back lash that gary cohn is worried about are rising prices . No, i hear the sabres rattling. I understand. Wall street. If everything is not just perfect with wall street, the whole sky is falling and the world is coming apart. Thats not it at all i agree with the president on bilateral. I have never been a fan of multilatter. You have 5 or 6 different countries. We are trying to help 3rd world nations pick themselves up, but there are other people in the mix. Before you know it, we are giving super advantages that countries dont need. I think is absolutely correct in what the president is doing. Bilateral. Deal directly with mexico and with canada which has been favored nation treatment. We can do much better and achieve our goals of helping those that need help and making sure the ones that dont compete on a level playing field. Martha right. The president with sweden today. It was interesting the sweden prime minister. We will talk. Thats what the president has in mind in all of these relationships. Senator, thank you very much. Let me just tell you this. They wont walk away from the greatest market on the earth. The United States of america. Can we work something out and get another bite at the apple . It will be more on a fair basis and not one sided. Martha senator joe manchin, thank you very much. Good to see you tonight. President trump getting hit from all sides on the trade issue and lost his top economic advisor. There were many issues that were in play with gary cohns decision. This was one element that may have weighed into the mix. United Steel WorkersInternational President joins me now. Thanks for joining us. One of the questions is how many steel jobs do you think can come back to america as a result of this . Well, i think it depends on how aggressive the president is with those countries that cheat. We have canada that play by the rules and , in fact have a trade deficit with the United States on steel. But we have countries like china as senator manchin said. China didnt only build 50 of the worlds aluminum and 50 of the worlds steel. China does overcapacity to use that to depress markets. One of the markets they have been depressing for 25 years is america. They have almost 600 billion dollars trade surplus on steel with the rest of the world. Anywhere they can put that they are putting it. If you take aluminum, china said 3 years ago that they would dominate the world in solar panels even if they have to sell under the cost of production. You cant make a solar panel out aluminum. We had 15 smelters and we are down to 4. Martha in terms of being competitive with labor costs, how will you deal with that . For the president , i think he needs to separate those countries that are continuously violating trade rules like china and south korea and india and brazil and in particular china. When we have a trade deficit of over 7 trillion dollars and annual of 800 billion dollars with these countries that cheat, we have to tackle them with the president and say we wont let you do that anymore. We have to have country tas follow the rules. Martha how does that impact shift over to increasing steel jobs in america . The president believes you have to have a vibrant Steel Industry for National Security . You can be competitive at those wages . Heres the thing. In the United States and in canada we produce steel at the lowest manhours with the least carbon emissions. The most environmentally Steel Industry. The u. S. Steal industry is reopening in granite city. South korea built a new tubular meal with chinese steel that was sold to south korea at a cut rate. South korea produces zero drilling. They dont drill one foot in their country and they are flooding their market with the goods subsidized by china. We need to take that on. Martha thank you. Good to you have here tonight, sir. Thank you. Martha brave young survivor of the Parkland School shooting has a side of the store you have not heard and he claims the media ignored him and others who feel like he does. Despite all of the investigations and arguing over russian meddling in the 2016 election, what we told you the russian are on track to have continued influence in the 2008 elections . Two congressmen investigating the collusion in the 2016 election. A lot of headline. They join us moments away. Certainly there was meddling and probably there was meddling from other countries maybe other individuals. Feel the clarity of nondrowsy claritin and relief from symptoms caused by over 200 allergens. Like those from buddy. Because stuffed animals are clearly no substitute for real ones. Feel the clarity and live claritin clear. There obviously is concern about an ongoing effort ever russians to interfere with our elections. The white house is well aware of that. As we all are. And agencies have been tasked to address this. Martha the direct of National Intelligence doing perhaps a little bit of clean up after last weeks statement by mike rogers who suggested that the white house did not give them additional go ahead to disrupt any russian interference with the 2008 mid term. Heres the president. Watch. Are you worried about russians trying to meddle in the midterm elections . No, because we are counter it very strongly. We have strong back up systems. Its old fashions but its always good to have a paperback up system. Its called paper. Martha election day is just 8 months away until the midterms. Ed henry joins us live from washington. Democrats have complained for over a year that President Trump wont admit russia interfered in the 2016 campaign. He said it and its still not good enough. At this News Conference with the swedish prime minister. The president admitted russia meddled in the last application election but there was no evidence they influenced. She claimed cyber experts told her they cant say if Voting Machines were hacked. When press she admitted she doesnt have evidence. Democrats jumped on the reports that the Trump State Department is not spend any money to counter interference in the midterms. He admitted there is not a coherent strategy. The president vowed russia will be stopped. The russians had no impact on our votes whatsoever. There was meddling and probably there was meddling from another countries maybe another individuals. I think you have to be really watching very closely. You dont want your system of votes to be compromised any way. We wont allow that to happen. Fox learned in the fbis investigation into Hillary Clintons email investigation there was a breach. They didnt followup. Thats a fact probed by the Justice Department and inspector general. Mccabe was overseeing the Clinton Probe despite his wifes ties to the clinton camp. Martha thanks. Good to see you. Joining me congressmen both are on the House Homeland Security committee. Good to see both of you tonight. First who this issue. On this issue of a Second Special counsel is that necessary . I think it is necessary, martha. I had the opportunity not to just review the republican fisa memo and the democratic rebuttal memo, but the underlying fisa application and the 3 renew applications. I came to the conclusion that a Second Special counsel wasun avoidable. Some of these questions about fisa abuse the folks that would have to answer would not be within the jurisdiction of the special Council Michael horowitz. So a Second Special counsel is necessary. Martha one reason thats an option that needs to be pursued is the latest piece of information. It keeps piling up about peter strzok. There was reason to think he found something on Hillary Clintons server that indicated there may have been exposure to foreign governments on that server. This is from james comeys presser when he exonerated Hillary Clinton. Heres what he said. With respect to computer intrusion by hostile actors. We did not find direct evidence that Hillary Clintons email was hacked successfully. It is possible that hostile actors gained access to her personal email accounts. Martha i remember hearing that. Thats a big deal. Now we learn that the language changed from reasonably likely and it was possible when james comey said is there in a softer phrase. What do you make of this . I heard that at the same time you did. I think james comey had more credibility than he has now. Looking back on that and what we are learning now, just one more example of the fears that the fbi investigation was not conducted fully. There are many unanswered questions. Thats why reluctantly on my part, i never supported a special counsel before. I think in this case it is essential. There are so many potential conflicts of interest and so many people beyond the scope of the inspector general. Martha one other big issue coming to the forefront is the question of Andrew Mccabe and whether or not he leaked information to the press during all of this which would be inappropriate, correct . Well, it would not just be inappropriate but a violation of law. With respect to Andrew Mccabe and peter strzok, these developments are not exhibit 1 and 2. They are exhibits 101 and 102. I have seen hundreds of Text Messages and emails and sworn testimony and other documents all of which speak to the unprecedented actions and decisions and irregularities that underscore the need for a Second Special counsel to look into these issue. Martha james comey admitted he leaked information of that fbi information that he wrote on an fbi computer to the press. Watch this. My judgment was i needed to get that out into the public square. I asked a friend of mine to share the content of the memo with a reporter. I did not do it myself. I asked him to because i thought that might prompt the appointment of a special counsel. Martha does that raise a question about the culture of fbi and whether or not there was an effort to get information out there into the public forum . If comey thought this was so important to get it out there why not do it himself . Why be sneaky about it. James comey was selective in his moral outrage. He never leaked a memo about the fact that lynch leaned on him to change the terminology of the Hillary Clinton investigation to call it an issue or event. She was trying to influence the investigation. Never went public with that. Instead he leaks out conversations with the president of the United States. The leaking was an art form with these guys. Martha she wanted it to be called a matter. Right. Martha do you think you will get a special counsel . Is that going to happen . Well, the request has been made. Attorney general sessions received that. Thats his decision. I think one is absolutely necessary given all the facts. We have to restore peoples faith and trust in the Justice Department and the fbi. Its shaken right now. One way to get there is have a special counsel look at these issues that are in the public view and over which they have a great deal of mistrust. Martha we wait for the initial generals report of michael horowitz. Thank you. A story on International Intrigue developing after a former russian spy releaseed in a deal with the United States turns up passed out on a park bench next to his daughter both of them apparently poisoned. The story gets stranger from there. Plus midterm elections kicked off today in texas. The first primary gets under way. Did democrats show up in drove like many are predicting they will . Polls about to close in the first primary of 2018. Voters in texas casting the first votes. In the battle for the control of congress. Democrats are banking on anger over President Trump and a running guy who is propot. A former punk rock guitarist turned a popular congressman to unseat senator ted cruz. Joining me is the codirector of the University Center for politics. This is fun to watch. This race developing. All of them in texas. You have for the first time in 25 years, you have democrats running in all 36 districts in texas. Yes. I think that caught peoples attention as well as the turnout we have seen so far. Texas is a state that has gone heavily republican. Yet the demographics of texas and the changing population in texas suggests that eventually, and i dont know what year that is, it will be competitive again. Martha in terms of this potential potenti potential orourke running against ted cruz. Ted is concerned about him. This is a picture of him recently. We have video of him back in 1994. There he is. Can we find video about that band . Does he present a threat to ted cruz . Yes. I would not call him the favorite. I would call senator cruz the favorite. Senator cruz is correct to recognize this is a real challenge. This wont be easy because the atmosphere of the years not going to be easy for republicans. Congressman orourke regardless of that band come will play well in austin, he is a real threat. He is a very good politician. Martha in terms of the big picture and the things that may have been negatives for President Trump. We talked to the head of the Steel Workers union. What do you think about the trump headwinds, are they real . They are. They vary from place to place. Obviously they will be less intense in red states and more intense in blue states and the purple competitive states. Heres the key. This is a midterm election. You will see a decline in turnout. The key question which side is more motivated and more energized and have a larger percentage of voters turnout. So far counting 2017 its been the democrats. Will it still be that way in november . Thats 8 long months away. Martha thats why we have the crystal ball and you. Larry, good to see you. Thanks. Thanks. Martha a brave young survivor of the Parkland School shooting has a possible solution he feels is being ignored by the media. A former double agent who spied on russia is now in Critical Condition in a London Hospital with his daughter. Judith and mark weigh in next. I would say the governments around the world that no attempt to take innocent life on u. K. Soil will go unpunished. We the people. Are defined by the things we share. And the ones we love. I grew up in the projects and so Home Ownership was not an option for us. I am taking the steps to own a home because i want my children to know its all so that they can have a better life. Oh my gosh. This is amazing. Were so much closer to Home Ownership. Martha a story of International Intrigue is developing tonight. A former russian spy and his daughter are fighting for their lives in a u. K. Hospital suspected of being poisoned on a park bench. He was one of the spies tradeed in a Famous Exchange on a tarmac for spies in the u. S. We sent back 10 sleeper agents. This story was all over the New York Post and elsehave. Dubbed the most glamorous agent. Trace gallagher is with us. They are not calling this terrorism. They say its unusual circumstances. On sunday afternoon the former russian spy and his daughter were seen on surveillance camera walking about 100 miles south of london. 30 minutes later both were found collapsed on a bench. Watch this. Their eyes were completely white and they were frothing at the mouth. They were looking dead straight. Investigators are retracing the victims steps to get a better idea of what they consumed. Sergei is a former Russian Army Intelligence office that admitted pate secrets along. He was set free in 2010 during the prison swap with the u. K. And u. S. What involved chapman the russian double agent who was the basis for the tv show the american. The russian visit a long history of developing and using undetectable poisons and the apparent poisoning is compared to the former russian spy who died in 2006. British authorities wont stand for another assassination attempt on their soil. While its wrong to prejudge the investigation, should evidence emerge, our government will respond appropriately and robustly. Russia denies involvement which did not surprise the britishman who is a public misdemeanor enemy of president putin. They lie about the olympics. We cant trust what nay say. And its notable that sergeis 43yearold son died last year in russia from an unknown illness. Martha thank you very much. Joining us now. The Investigative Reporter and mark an institute scholar. Both are fox news contributors. What is your reaction to this tonight . Well, as critical as i have been of russian interference in our elections, on this i am skeptical. We dont know about the agent used to try to anassinate this man and his daughter. We dont know enough about motive. Why the russian government try to kill someone that president medvive pardoned. Martha sometimes they carry a grudge. They do and have a long history of trying to assassinate enemies in london. Martha thats right. On this one, i have to really be skeptical and reserve judgment. I dont think we know enough to make a decision. Martha the russians are suspected in the killing of 14 different people over the course of the last 20 years in similar circumstances to this, mark. Yes. It was not a mugging gone wrong. His son died. He has had three family members die in two years. Now he and his daughter are in the hospital. They were foaming at the mouth and 3 emergency workers who tried to help them were hospitalized. This was not something that was just a random attack. This was an assassination attempt. A lot of these guys try to do business in russia after they leave. We dont know what it was but it was an assassination attempt and russia has a long history of doing this. One was assassinated. He was investigating the assassination of a russian journalist who was investigating war crimes and she was poisoned and survived that and then shot in moscow. Martha yes, unbelievable. In terms of retaliation, we heard Boris Johnson talking about change in the involve in the world cup games. You get them in football where everybody lives. That would hit home in russia. What do you expect to see . I think if it turns out that the russian government was involved in this. He will see Something Like the u. K. Refusing to appear in the world cup with the russians. That would hurt. Part of the problem, martha and mark also talked about it, there hasnt been severe sanctions. Russia paid no price for the previous assassinations. If it turns out there is russian involvement, there must be a price to pay. Martha george nader is now an informant and is speaking to Robert Mueller with regard to the russia investigation. Any quick thoughts on that . I must say that george nader has been around washington for a long time claiming to represent a lot of different people. The uae informs me he was never a registered lobbyist for them. Lets see what information he really has. Martha thank you. The young survivors of the Parkland School shooting emerged in the fight for tighter gun laws. Every politician who took donations from the nra, shame on you. Martha are students who feel differently and they feel their voices have not been heard in all of this. Kyle kashuv is one of them. So you get more life per roll. Bounty, the quicker picker upper martha tomorrow makrs 3 weeks since the Parkland School shooting. Many voices emerged in the fight for tougher gun laws including many of the students of Stoneman Douglas high school. They say that tougher gun laws do not decrease gun violence. We call the end. The politicians are cowards and wont gather the strength to stand up to the nra like rubeio or scott or donald trump. Senator rubeio its hard to look at you and not look at nikolas cruz. One student you may not have seen has a different point of view and feels it has been ignored in all of this. He is a 16yearold junior at Stoneman Douglas. A conservative and strong supporter of the second amendment. Thanks for joining us tonight. Just as your fellow students have every right to have their voices heard, you also have a right to hear your voice heard. Not to dwell on it, but tell us when your experience was that day . Where were you when it started . In an adjacent building. There was 20 minutes left. We heard the fire alarm ring. We walked outside and i was towards of the end of the group. We heard an announcement that said we have to leave, i evacuated and we heard two little pops. I thought they were textbooks falling. We ran into another room. Then we hid there for 2 hours until swat took us out. Martha you feel that your perspective on this issue is worth having everyone hear as well. What is it . Well, my perspective is we have to focus first on what we can achieve and thats bipartisans change. Mental Health Restrictions and deeper background checks. The debate on gun control should be a broader discussion we need after we can secure schools. Thats a priority. Martha and Andrew Pollack whose daughter lied at parkland, he was here last night. He has the same perspective. He wants to pass things that he feels can be passed first, right . Yes, maam. Thats paramount. We have to secure the schools first and make sure this will never happen again. Only then can we have the gun control debate. Martha david haas has been out there a lot. Familiar to americans. Here he is speaking out on his side. Watch this. I hung up on the white house the other day. They called me the day and asked if we were going to come. I said i am not coming because we expect President Trump to come. I ended on this message. President trump, we dont need to listen to President Trump. President trump needs to listen to the screams of the children and the schemes of this nation. Screams of this nation . Martha what do you think about . I am trying to control my anger. The president calls you to make bipartisan change and the one man who leads our nation and says lets make it happen. You hangup the phone . David was like he have to make a change. Lets make this happen. The white house calls you and lets do it. I agree lets make the change and you hangup on him and brag about it on national tv. Thats counterproductive. Martha you have told him about how you feel about this . I have not talked to david about this, no. Martha what is your hope for the immediate change . The legislation is going through florida right now. Well, i am hopeful. I see a lot of positive legislation is being passed. Mental legislation and deeper background checks. It represents how nondivided our country is. Martha thank you. Well are sorry for what happened to you and all of your friends and everything at your school. We are glad you have a chance to get your feelings out there. Thanks, kyle. Thank you. Martha take care. Next, why the family of brendan is breathing a shy of relief tonight.
